"Can I let you in on a secret?" Sherry asked out of the blue. "Most of the girls at Hollywood Arts are either gay, or Bi. Not saying there aren't enough girls looking for guys here, just the majority are either gay or bi."

"Ooookay." The new student replied. "Um, so there are a lot of gay students here? I'm just curious, cause you felt you had to say it, and I…" He looked around, not sure what her statement meant, other than maybe he could be out about his own situation.

"Oh, right." She giggled. "We do have a higher than average gay community here, but the guys, maybe thirty percent gay and bi. Maybe more. But the gals, I'd say twice that, min. Not saying it's a bad thing, cause most of them, not out yet, even to themselves. But if you're gay, I guess that's okay…" She looked mildly depressed towards the end.

"Wait, you weren't trying to find out?" He asked. "That wasn't fishing?"

"Kinda, sorta." The dark skinned girl admitted. "Just, not for what you were. Should have checked, cause I wanted… I'm a very affectionate girl, caught in between the large number of girls I'd like to do, being Bi and all, only those girls, still in the closet. But between them and the guys not knowing how to deal with the girls, I thought, a fair warning, and maybe, if you turned out to be worth the time, we could…" Brown eyes sparkled as she showed her hope.

"Wait, you were looking for a date?" The boy reeled.

"Why not?" Sherry asked back. "Most of the girls are playing games, and not even on purpose. Like Jade, dating Beck, keeping the hottest hottie here all caught up, and not even aware she's probably gayer than straight. Not saying she's not Bi, but look at her obsessions. Girl wanted Moose, I know weird name for a dude, but she wanted him, up until she had him. Then, nope, not any more. Her obsessions, all girls, and while some, like Cat, turn to friendships, I feel she just needs… I could so rock her world. Only, not Latina enough, I guess. Girl does seem to have a type."

"Okay, confused here."

"Cat kinda looks Latina, even though she swears she's not." Sherry explained. "And Tori, the girl Jade's obsessed with, way Latina. Plus, Tori, so in the closet, she doesn't realize that's the reason she only dates losers. She's subconsciously making sure she has an excuse. So, much as I'd love to rock either of their worlds, the truth is, too dangerous coming between them. Let them have their love-hate relationship. Mark my words, some day, they'll be married, and it'll be weird. Healthy, lasing, even loving, but when you think of dark and dangerous Jade West, that's weird."

"So, are the gay boys as easy to identify?" The boy asked.

"Now Cat, she's straight, as long as she doesn't realize she's not." Sherry continued, ignoring his question or the moment. "Girls Bi, and god, she's so obvious, people have speculated about her and Trina, that's Tori's sister, and Cat's roommate, Sam from iCarly. The same Sam who somehow got forgotten, when how would anyone forget her? Anyways, neither are Cat's type, which is why she's still single. I think Sam might be straight, and Trina, a self centered narcissist with a heart. Kinda off, but man, I could so go for her. Only, I'm looking for someone, guy or girl, and all the good one's are either taken, or don't realize a good woman is what they need."

"Um, so no guys you can think of…"

"Andre and Robbie, from the main people." Sherry tossed out. "But Rob, Bi, and into Cat. Way into her. Could steal him, only not my type. Guys more of a boy than a man, and that gets complicated. I don't molest children. And Andre, used to date him, love kissing him, once I realized we didn't share much in the way of interests, and he wasn't open enough to make things easier on me. Sigh, in the end, we just weren't right for one another, and he wasn't nearly ready to give me what I needed, that feeling of being loved, a part of a relationship."

"Sex." The boy tried. "And I'm taking it that's why you think he's gay?"

"Good looking, talented, and in great shape, and yet, boy just cannot keep a girlfriend." Sherry counted off. "I had to develop my Gaydar a bit to realize why we would never work out, but when I did, I realized, up until he realizes he's gay, that boy will never find him his happily ever after." Her eyes narrowed. "No, I don't think he's ready to come out of the closet yet. However, I'm not done talking about the girls."

"God no."

"Meredith is straight, but I'm betting, right girl, she'd give it away." The African American girl continued. "Too bad, cause while, if done right, she'll enjoy it, girls not built that way. She needs to figure out what she wants, and start fighting for it, cause otherwise, she's just a speed bump in the road of Hollywood Arts."

"So just two boys…"

"I'll mail you the fucking list, just let me rant, okay." Sherry groaned. "Sorry, but this whole chizzing school is so caught up in it's secrets, and the students who aren't straight are not ready to admit that much. I mean, they all get so caught up in the pretense, the fakeness that we pretend is originality, just because. No, this school is mostly queer, with the girls making up the majority of the numbers, and no one is ready to just admit it, turn this school into a celebration of who we really are, and let our freak flags fly."

"Okaaay." He looked around, hoping for some relief from the frustrated girls rantings. "Look, I do appreciate you filling me in on the goings on at this school. I wish I could help you out, but…"

"You're right." Sherry said, now showing more fire. "I can't wait for the man of my dreams. I need to go for what I want, and since Cat isn't likely to appreciate my feminine yet bossy approach to getting what I need, I guess the best option for me is Trina." Her resolve was growing. "She's desperate enough for a hot boyfriend. Right approach, I should have her by the end of the month. Thanks, new kid… Um, you got a name?"

"Ryan." The boy introduced himself.

"Get me your email, and I'll send you that list." She flashed a more genuine smile at him. "Thinking this is the start of a beautiful friendship. Just, let me help if you decide to go after Andre. I can fill you in on his pitfalls..."

Sometimes we just need that stranger to listen so we can figure stuff out. I feel for Ryan, because Sherry was using him, just not for what she'd thought she was going to use him for.
