Chapter 8: Hudson:
Nancy's POV:
There was a knock on the door, but it was way too early in the morning. I then opened the door. It was a girl. I was too tired to understand what she was saying. "Blah-blah-blah!" I then fell asleep.
. . .
We then talked when I was more awake. "Sorry about that. It didn't occur to me that you would be barely awake. My name is Laura Hudson."
"The Heir of Hudson Enterprises," I said, "so, how can I help you?"
"Well... my Dad's missing," says Laura.
"Did you talk to the Police," I asked.
"I talked to that police detective, but she acted hostile," says Laura.
I wonder which detective did she talk to. It couldn't be Karen. She takes the job way too seriously for that. "Can you please tell me from the beginning," I asked.
"Well, after he came home from visiting Greylock..."
"Greylock," I asked.
"You know that town in New Hampshire that decided to become a nation separate from the United States? Anyway, I found his car back in Riverdale, but no sign of him. You have to help me!"
"Don't worry, I will." Then my stomach started to growl. "I don't suppose your dad could wait 'til after breakfast."
. . .
My friends and I then checked the car.
"Maybe Dead Lucy took him," says Shaun.
"Someone broke into the car," says Ned, "but what? I mean, the last time I saw this much damage to a car, it was Lamu."
"What's Lamu," asks Shaun.
"Trust me, you do not want to know," says Ned.
"Maybe he has enemies," I said.
"Yeah... lots of people hate him," says George, "but I can tell you about one person who really does."
. . .
"Thanks for taking me to your dad," I said.
"Darling, I wouldn't be surprised if my Daddy did do it," says Veronica.
We then entered Mr. Lodge's office.
"Veronica, I'm busy," says Mr. Lodge.
"Daddy, my friend here has some questions for you," says Veronica.
"Ah, yes, you're the one who cleared Andrews' name and saved Miss Cooper," says Mr. Lodge, "so, what is this about?"
"Ryan Hudson," I said.
"Yes, I heard about his disappearance," says Mr. Lodge, "listen, if you think I did do it, I assure you, I had nothing to do with it. Besides, that man has plenty of skeletons in his closet."
"You could've hired someone to do it," I said.
"Look, I've heard you made mistakes," says Mr. Lodge.
"You heard about how I thought a gay man was obsessed with Betty," I asked.
"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... no, I was referring to when you almost got a clown in jail for something a ringmaster did," says Mr. Lodge, "I didn't know about that thing you mentioned."
"Awkward," says Veronica.
"Now, if you don't mind, I do have lawyers," says Mr. Lodge.
. . .
I needed to find out what happened to Hudson. I took another look at the car, and I found a Southside Serpents card. It was the Serpents!
. . .
I had to bribe Jughead with a burger to arrange a meeting with Toni Topaz. She then came.
"What do you want," asks Topaz.
"I found this in Ryan Hudson's car," I said.
Topaz looked confused. "I literally never saw that in my life," says Topaz, "and Jughead, how did she convince you to arrange this?"
"How do you think," says Jughead, still eating his burger.
"You could turn into one someday," says Topaz.
"Then remember to take out the pickles," says Jughead.
"Okay, look, maybe one of your Serpents might know something," I said.
"I hope not," says Topaz, "I hate to think they did something without my knowing. If you don't mind, I got other things to do." She then leaves.
"So, now what are you gonna do," asks Jughead.
"I don't know," I said.
. . .
I took another look at the car and then I saw someone looking at me. I then chased them.
. . .
I then finally caught them. It was Dilton Doiley.
"I guess it was a misunderstanding," I said.
"Actually, I do know something about the mystery," says Dilton.
"Spill," I said.
. . .
Dilton then showed me what he taped. "Some weird force drew me to the incident," says Dilton.
"Maybe it was Dead Lucy," I said.
"I don't really believe in that," says Dilton, "anyway, check it out." I looked and it was definitely a Serpent that took Ryan Hudson. "His name is Slash."
"I think he might be doing this without Topaz' knowing," I said.
. . .
I then snuck over to Slash's hideout. I looked in and I saw Ryan Hudson tied up while Slash was making a phone call. I then snuck in, and I untied Ryan Hudson. "The police will be here soon," I said.
"Hey, who are you," asks Slash. Just as he was running towards us, the police came.
. . .
The police took Slash in. Topaz was disappointed.
"Any idea who hired him," asks a Karen.
"He didn't exactly introduce us," says Hudson.
"Well, we'll see what we can do," says Karen.
"Thanks Nancy," says Laura.
"No problem," I said, "I just wish I knew who hired Slash." I then looked and I saw a woman. This time, it wasn't the blonde girl. I think it was Dead Lucy. She then disappeared.
Laura Hudson is 14 Years Old. Hungry Lamu is a horror game about an experimented llama-human hybrid monster that eats people. In the next chapter, Nancy meets the Black Hood.
