Chapter 25: The Girl in the Locket:

Nancy's POV:

Long ago, Lucy was killed by Clifford Blossom, but before her death, she gave birth to a baby. That baby became your third favorite detective, right after Sherlock Holmes and Batman. Turns out, my parents have been lying to me. I really wish my Mom told me before she... oh God, I have two dead Moms!

"Why didn't you tell me," I asked.

"We were just trying to keep you safe!"

"I don't want to hear this!" I started leaving.

"Nancy, wait..."

"You and Kate should've told me!" I then left.

. . .

I was at Pop's with my friends.

"Nancy, I heard some yelling last night," says Shaun, "what's up?"

I wasn't sure how to tell Shaun. "It's... it's nothing you need to worry about."

I then started coughing up seaweed again. They all look at me. "I can explain..."

"I think I might know what this is about," says Ned.

Ned's POV - Flashback:

When I was with Chuck, my foot felt weird. I took off my shoe and it was filled with seawater!

George's POV - Flashback:

When I was going to take a shower, the water wouldn't stop running even when I turned it off!

Bess' POV - Flashback:

I stepped outside and I saw beach sand everywhere! It was like my house has been transported to the beach!

Shaun's POV - Flashback:

I woke up and started smelling like fish!

Nancy's POV:

So, the Aglaeca is after all of us.

"I guess she didn't like that we didn't give her my blood," says Shaun, "for the record guys, I say we find another doner."

"Why is she doing this," asks George.

"To get, you must give," I said. They all looked at me. "Yeah, turns out, the Aglaeca wanted Salem's daughter in exchange for his army."

"Bess, next time, you think about suggesting we talk to an ancient demon," says Ned, "don't!"

"That's fair," says Bess.

"I know who to talk to," I said.

. . .

We then talked to Sabrina and Salem.

"I told you that beast cannot be trusted," says Salem, "she is pure evil!"

"Is there a way to get her off our backs," asks Ned.

"There is a way to vanquish a demon," says Sabrina, "you just need the blood of a relative of the summoner."

"That... would be me," I said.

"I already said, my blood is out of the question," says Shaun.

"Maybe Nancy's Dad," says George, "he does kind of owe you."

"Actually, there is something you should all know," I said, "he's not really my Father.

"What," asks Shaun.

"I was adopted the whole time," I said.

"That's... news," says Ned.

"Do you know your birth family," asks George.

"Yeah, I know," I said.

. . .

I walked out, but Shaun decided to follow me.

"Nancy," says Shaun, "can we talk?"

"Not now, Shaun," I said.

"Is this what you and Dad were arguing about last night," says Shaun.

"He's not my Dad," I said.

"Okay, but still..."

"Look," I said, "they have been lying to me all these years! My whole life has been a lie! Carson and Kate were never my parents!"

"Then I guess I'm not your brother," says Shaun.

I then realized. "Shaun, I..."

"Forget it," says Shaun, "go find your real family, whoever you are." Shaun then walks away.

. . .

I arrived at the Hudsons' house and Laura answers the door. "Oh, it's you," says Laura.

"Hey, how's Ryan," I asked.

"Ever since you guys found Lucy's diary, he's been obsessed," says Laura.

"Laura, we're going to find your sibling," says Ryan.

"Does the journal say anything about them," asks Laura.

"It doesn't say where they are," says Ryan, "but I bet we can find out at the clinic!"

"How'bout this," I said, "if you help me, I might be able help you."

. . .

At the clinic, Ryan's getting impatient. I then decided to talk to the doctor, but I didn't want Ryan to learn the truth.

"What did you find out," asks Ryan.

"Lucy was pregnant at the age of 16," I said, "but her death was on August 31 and her due date was on September 30. I'm sorry, but the baby is dead."

We then walked out, but I can tell that Laura was getting suspicious of me.

. . .

We're on our way to Sabrina's house.

"Wait, that weird Spellman place," asks Laura, "Dad, I don't know about this!"

"Why are we going there," asks Ryan.

"I just need your help to save us from a sea witch," I said. I couldn't tell them the whole truth.

"Wait, you mean the Aglaeca is real," asks Ryan.

"Yes, and because we went back on our deal, she's out to get us," I said.

"Dad, I've seen the Babysitter," says Laura, "and long story short, you're Cole and Nancy's Bee!"

"Please, you have to help us," I said.

"Dad, pull over," says Laura, "I'd like to talk to Nancy alone."

. . .

I was alone with Laura.

"So, what do you want to talk about," I asked.

"What are you up to," asks Laura.

"What do you mean," I asked.

"So, how is my Dad supposed to save you from the Aglaeca? By paying it?"

"It's... more complicated than that..."

"I don't trust you. If anything happens, you will regret it!"

My younger adoptive brother's upset with me, and my younger half-sister doesn't trust me. That's what being a part of two families does to you.

. . .

We were in Sabrina's house.

"Wait, the Hudsons," asks Shaun, "seriously?"

"That's a little harsh," says Ryan.

I then took Shaun to another room.

. . .

"Nancy Hudson," says Shaun, "that's interesting."

"Shaun, they have no idea," I said.

"You mean you didn't tell them we need one of them to give up some blood to save us from the Aglaeca," asks Shaun.

"I mean they have no idea I'm related to them," I said, "Ryan agreed to help us."

"And he's not going to ask why he's so important," asks Shaun, "I'm guessing you take after your mom."

"Look, just please don't say anything," I said.

"Fine," says Shaun, "now, can you let this only child go please, Miss Hudson." Shaun then walks back in the room.

Okay, so that does sting. Next time I'm in the graveyard, I have some apologizing to do.

. . .

Sabrina had to get things ready, so we were just hanging out. Laura was creeped out by Salem, who wasn't talking. "So, Sabrina's a witch," asks Laura.

"Yes, and the cat talks," says Bess.

Laura looks at Salem.

Ryan's POV:

I took a look at Lucy's yearbook.

"Is that Lucy when she was young," asks Nancy's brother.

"Oh yeah," I said. I then looked at the picture and then I looked at Nancy.

Nancy's POV:

"Nancy," says Ryan, "when Lucy was your age, she looked like you! You look like you could be twins, Nancy. Why is that?"

"Yeah, Lucy was pregnant. You guys were together on New Years Eve of 2004. Her due date was late September 2005. She died August 31st."

"Maybe she had the baby early, you know? She put it up for adoption?"

"Look, Ryan..."

"Why am I here?"

"I'm sorry to interrupt," says Sabrina, "but we need that blood."

"What," asks Ryan.

"Easy," says Sabrina, "we're not sacrificing you! My Aunt Hilda was in jail for that. Salem?" Salmen then leaps and scratches Ryan's face, getting some blood on his claws. "Thank you."

. . .

We then performed the ritual. There was a strong wind and then it stops.

"Is that it," asks George.

"I'm not sure if it worked," says Sabrina.

"Cross your fingers," says Salem. Laura screams.

. . .

We were exiting. I then told them all.

"Lucy was pregnant with Ryan's baby and right before she died, she gave birth... to me."

Shaun walks away.

"I'll follow him," says Ned. Ned walks away.

"I think someone wants to talk to you alone," says George. George and Bess walk away.

I assumed it was Ryan, but it was Laura. "Oh, hey..."

"What was that about," asks Laura.

"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... okay, here's the thing... I'm the child of Lucy and your Father."

"So, you needed my Dad's blood for that ritual," says Laura.

"At least he's alive," I said.

"Look, when I learned my Dad had another kid before me, I didn't know what to think, but now here she is and she's lying to my Dad, dragging him to be part of rituals just to save her own skin? What if the Aglaeca decides to come after him? Did you think of that?"

"I... I just..."

"Look, I don't care what happened," says Laura, "but stay away from us! As far as I'm concerned, we are not sisters!" She then walks away.

This is my life.

. . .

I then talked to my... to Carson.

"I know what it feels like now. To have a secret that you don't want anybody to know, because if they find out it'll change anything," I said.

"I was afraid I was going to lose you," he says.

"Keeping the secret changes everything, too. I just need my space. I'm going to stay with George for a while. She's talking to her mom."

"I understand. Do you know where Shaun is?"

Shaun's POV:

I was looking at the ocean. I wish Nancy never started the stupid Lucy case.

"You okay," asks Ned.

"I don't know," I said. I then looked at my reflection and... it was the Algaeca. That ritual didn't work!

In the next chapter, the Crew learn about the Aglaeca curse.
