Chapter 31: The Drowned Woman:
Nancy's POV:
Only one day before our deaths and are we excited? Was Lincoln excited when he was killed? Was Caesar? Were the Dinosaurs? That's right, we weren't! An evil demon ghost lady is out to get us just because we refused to let her take my brother's blood! We tried everything, a book about curses, a deal with the Raven, a dybbuk box, none of that worked! Our only hope is to find a way to destroy the Aglaeca once and for all! We just need to find out how.
"Maybe we can call Dr. Fate," suggests Shaun.
"I think there's only one way to beat the Aglaeca," says Ned, "we need a trap!"
"But we need bait," says Bess.
"I think I know what that bait has to be," says George, "us."
. . .
I then talked to Sabrina.
"Can it work," I asked.
"It may be the only way," says Sabrina.
"Great," I said, "hey, where's Salem?"
"He's checking on the other witch," says Sabrina, "Betty."
Salem's POV:
I was checking on Betty Cooper. She probably has witch blood as well. I wonder if she's descendant from anyone I know. I then snuck into her basement and I found a box.
Nancy's POV:
Sabrina gives me what we need, black sand from a place called 'The Boiling Isles'.
"This sand can destroy the most powerful ghost," says Sabrina, "witches on the Boiling Isles used it to get rid of ghost rat problems."
"I hope this works," I said.
. . .
When I walked out, I saw both my Dads.
"This is awkward," I said.
"Nancy, we want to help you," says Dad Drew.
"Thanks, but I got this," I said.
"Well, if there's anything you need," says Dad Hudson.
"I'll be good," I said.
Salem's POV:
I managed to open the box aaannnddd... iiittt'sss... just a bunch of ordinary stuff. I'll have to keep looking.
Nancy's POV:
The crew and I get ready. The Aglaeca then shows up and we try to trap her, but the sand doesn't work and the Aglaeca destroys it. She then sends us a new death vision and leaves.
"Why didn't it work," asks Shaun.
"I don't know," I said.
Salem's POV:
I'm still searching Betty's basement and then I found something. A portrait of a familiar woman. I don't believe it!
Nancy's POV:
We were talking to Sabrina.
"I thought it could work," says Sabrina.
Salem arrives. "You won't believe what I found," says Salem.
"Salem, Black Sand from the Boiling Isles destroys ghosts, doesn't it," asks Sabrina.
"YYYeeesss, wwwhhhyyy... wait, did you try the sand," asks Salem, "Sabrina, I told you this, the Black Sand only works on the surface of the Boiling Isles!"
"OOOhhh... rrriiiggghhhttt," says Sabrina.
"You mean we failed because you forgot that important detail," asks Ned.
"SSSooorrrrrryyy," says Sabrina.
"Come on guys," I said. There's not much else we can do.
Shaun's POV:
I was throwing stones in the water. I hate the sea and I hate the Aglaeca!
"You okay," asks a girl.
"Yeah," I said, "I'm Shaun Drew."
"Courtney Byrne. Don't you just love the sea?"
"Not really," I said, "I mean, the sea gives us the Aglaeca."
"If you actually believe in that story," says Courtney.
"You'd be surprised," I said.
Ned's POV:
I knocked on Kevin's door and he answers and lets me in.
George's POV:
If I am going to die, I am going to see the finale of Charmed.
Bess' POV:
I might as well finish my book.
Nancy's POV:
I talk to my Dad... Dad Drew that is.
"You want your dad back. The one who raised you. The one you could trust."
"I need him now. Yeah."
"I can't pretend that I didn't mess everything up. And we may never be what we were, but that doesn't change how much I love you.."
"How could you love something that was never really yours?"
"From the moment Lucy put you in my arms and made me promise to protect you, you are what I lived for. That love is my life."
"But it was all a lie!"
"Not the love. Whatever you need to call us... father-daughter, Carson-Nancy... that love lives in me forever."
We made up and I feel like I might know the answer.
. . .
The Crew and I searched the painting for anything we can use.
"I found something," says Shaun, "they look like letters."
"I think that might be it," I said.
. . .
We were at the beach and the Aglaeca then came. Each of us then recited a line from the love letters she wrote to an english woman. The Aglaeca then stopped.
"We understand," I said, "you were killed!"
"Your story was a lie," says Shaun.
"And you loved someone," says Ned.
"But it doesn't have to be this way," says George.
"You don't have to be a monster," says Bess.
The Aglaeca then turns to her humanoid form. She stops, but then just as she was about to strike, George gets in the way and she got stabbed and the Aglaeca disappears.
. . .
"Can this work," I asked.
"We can only hope," says Sabrina.
"There is a reason one isn't allowed to revive the dead," says Salem, "but she's not quite dead yet. YYYooouuu cccaaannn cccaaallllll iiittt... Half-dead which means that she's basically in between life and death."
Sabrina casts a spell and George is revived. "I do not recommend that," says George.
"So, is it finally over," asks Shaun.
"Let's hope," I said.
"Salem, what did you learn about Betty," asks Sabrina.
"Betty is not just any witch," says Salem, "she is a descendant of Phoenix Diablos, the first Head Witch!"
Gomber's POV:
Now that I'm out, I arrive at the place I needed to be.
"Master," I said, "I have returned and soon, you will be free and nothing will stop the great and powerful Arthrok!"
George's POV:
I looked in the mirror and I saw her, Odette LaMar... the Aglaeca!
In the next chapter, Gomber goes after the Emerald Lady.
