Chapter 32: The Legend of the Emerald Lady:
Nancy's POV:
It's been two weeks and there has been so sign of the Aglaeca. I guess we're done with her. I can't wait to get back to normal problems that don't involve ghosts... assuming I don't run into Xandra, the Scarecrow, or another leprechaun. Oh and that thing I helped Zorro with. Anyway, we're at the museum and they're presenting this green statue.
"The Emerald Lady," says the Curator, "no one knows the story behind her."
Then the lights went out and these men in ninja suits came and took the statue. I then went after them.
. . .
Lucky for me, they were trying to carry a statue the size of a person.
"Stop," I said.
"Keep running," one said to the other.
They then dropped the statue and got away. I wonder what was that about.
Gomber's POV:
I was waiting when the thieves I hired came in.
"We couldn't get the statue," one says.
"Alright," I said, "but did you at least break it?"
"Break the statue... you were serious about that?"
"Yes, I was serious about that," I said, "for the plan to work, the statue has to break, but you didn't succeed in that, did you?"
"Well... no..."
"It's alright," I said, "it's not your fault you guys are only slightly smarter than a four-leaf clover."
"So, we're good then?"
"Did I say that? I don't think I did. Have you guys ever heard of a Grimathorne? Just have to keep remembering it."
The Grimathorne then attacks them. I'm going to need a new plan.
Nancy's POV:
Security's getting tighter at the museum. I wonder what's so special about the Emerald Lady. I then noticed George acting strange.
"You okay," I asked.
"I'm fine," says George.
Luckily, I know two magic experts.
. . .
"Sorry, but I don't know anything about the Emerald Lady," says Sabrina, "and Salem's still trying to figure out what I'm going to need Betty and Veronica for."
"Great," I said.
"Maybe you can take me to that statue, and I can see if there's anything magical about it."
. . .
At night, Sabrina and I snuck into the museum.
"Wait, why can't we teleport in," I asked.
"I don't like using it that much because I'm always afraid that I'm going to lose my clothes," says Sabrina.
We then snuck in.
. . .
Sabrina and I then checked out the statue.
"So, what do you have," I asked.
"This statue," says Sabrina, "I sense, like, a whole bunch of supernatural energy around it... this is not an ordinary statue!"
"How wise of you," says Gomber as he shows up.
"What do you want," I asked.
"The statue, of course," says Gomber, "and my pet will help me get it!"
"What pet," I asked.
Then a monster came.
"It's a Grimathorne," says Sabrina, "we have to run!"
We run and the Grimathorne then chases us.
. . .
"How do we get rid of this thing," I asked.
"The only way to get it off your back is to make sure you forget about it," says Sabrina.
"How," I asked.
"Usually from erasing your memories," says Sabrina.
"Let's make that Plan Z," I said, "wait, maybe you can magic it away!"
"I'm only half witch," says Sabrina, "I don't think I'd be powerful enough to send it away!"
The Grimathorne keeps chasing us, but then we stop at a book.
"Dead end," I said.
"Wait, Nancy, this could be what we need," says Sabrina.
As the Grimathorne leaps at us, Sabrina opens the book, and it absorbs the Grimathorne.
"What was that," I asked.
"The Tome of Doom," says Sabrina, "it absorbs ghosts and monsters!"
"We have to find Gomber," I said.
. . .
We arrived and just as Gomber was about to break the statue, Sabrina zaps him.
"All this to break a statue," I asked.
"There are some things you would not understand," says Gomber. He then gets away.
. . .
I was with George.
"Well, at least we stopped Gomber," I said, "I wonder why he wants to break that statue."
"Because ze emerahld lahdy ees a preesahn fahr ahll ze evilest speerits evair to hahve haunted riverdahle ahnd eef eet breaks, zey will be released!"
"How do you figure that," I asked.
"Figure what," asks George.
"You just explained a theory about the Emerald Lady... and talked with a French accent for some reason-"
. . .
I then took George back to Sabrina.
"This is bad," says Sabrina, "the Aglaeca is now in George!"
"Great," says George, "I'm an apartment!"
"Okay, so if she's right about the statue... then we can't let Gomber break it!"
. . .
That night, we snuck into the museum and Gomber was there.
"Let's get this over with," says Gomber. Sabrina then freezes him.
"Nice try," says Sabrina.
"Did you really think I came here alone," asks Gomber.
Then something breaks the statue. "Juarez Tino, sonics expert at your service!"
Then there was a white glow. "Look at that," says Gomber, "I cause another prison break!"
"Technically, this was all me," says Tino.
The spirts are now unleashed.
. . .
I was with my crew.
"So, what are we going to do," asks Ned.
"We... have a new series of problems," I said.
In the next chapter, Nancy helps the Flash with the Red Death.
