On the other side of the island where a volcano lies was the entrance to the underground lair of Ogthar, the one and only man that had tried to take over Dinotopia twice before he was stopped, first by his own men in times past, and then again by Kex, Mara, Spazz and 26. However, Ogthar was back, and this time he was more determined than ever to rule over the island as he believed that he should the ruler while using his own robotic dinosaurs to make slaves of the real dinosaurs and humans that sided with them as they would try to defeat him once more. "I must get rid of that girl before she finds the sapphire sunstone!" Ogthar shouted in rage, his first two minions watched in fear as their boss paced while muttering in anger, Rhoga a paraurolophus and Thudd a eouplorephalus were both terrified as they had been dragged out prison then forced back into working for the mad man again, it certainly didn't help that Ogthar had been ranting about the fact that Dinotopia's newest resident was the one that would finally put an end to the crazy man with the help of the only sunstone that would be able to destroy the ruby sunstone as the powers of both sunstones rivaled each other, but by using the power of love and friendship could the sapphire sunstone become strong enough to overcome the power of the ruby sunstone in order to finally destroy it as well as strengthen the other sunstones all over Dinotopia.
"W-why not have us do something about her?" Rhoga asked nervously, she and Thudd needed to get away from Ogthar in order to warn Anna that wicked man was after her. "Yeah, we could do it." Thudd added, he really didn't want to be near Ogthar again since helping him had been the sole reason why he and Rhoga had been sent to prison in the first place as they had stolen eggs from the hatchery in order to help grow an army for Ogthar's plan to take over the island while invading Waterfall City as the first part of his plan. "You two?...I suppose you might as well do something useful." Ogthar replied after some consideration, he gave the order for Rhoga and Thudd to head to the hatchery with the plan to kidnap Anna before feeding her to the tyrannosaurus rex's in their valley, but he made it clear to make that Stinktooth was not nearby on the off chance he'd stop his kin from eating Anna. "Got it!" Rhoga and Thudd both shouted before running away from the volcanic lair then headed for the hatchery. "Are we really going to hurt the newest human?" Thudd asked Rhoga, he wasn't being stupid, but he wanted to make sure that they were going to warn her instead of doing what Ogthar wanted. "We're going to warn her and see about maybe helping her." Rhoga responded as she and Thudd got closer to where the long route to the hatchery began, then the two would make the trek to where John lived, so this way the duo could plead their case to him and Albagon with the hope that they could get some help without Ogthar finding out.
Meanwhile at the hatchery, Kex and Anna finally had the chance to talk while the others were getting ready for dinner. "So, what're we going to do now?" Anna asked her best friend, she was talking about their plan to see the world together which was now impossible to do. "The island isn't so bad. It just takes some getting used to." Kex told her, personally, Kex hadn't liked being on the island at first since he didn't fit in with it's way, but now that he had warmed up the his new home, Kex had hopes that Anna would warm up to the idea as well. "It is nice here, and we're together again. I just don't know if I can belong here."Anna admitted to Kex, he knew how his best friend felt since that was how they had both felt when they ended up their respective orphanage's after their families had abandoned them, and then again when they were given their last names by the directors when it came time to enter school. "It's just like back home." Kex said to Anna, she nodded before they laid down on the ground as the first stars came out. "Love the view of the starry sky." Anna said with a smile, if Anna had to choose one good thing about the island, it's that she could see the stars better than she could from the cliff where the girl's home was. "Same here." Kex replied to her, the two watched as more stars came out before they saw a shooting star. "Make a wish!" Anna and Kex said at the same time, their hands clasped together as they closed their eyes then made their wishes, after that they opened their eyes once more as they heard footsteps approaching them. "There she is!" Rhoga's voice rang out, Kex and Anna sat up to see her and Thudd. "Are they the ones you warned me about?" Anna whispered to Kex, he nodded with a frown on his face.
"How'd you two escape from jail?" Kex asked harshly, both Rhoga and Thudd flinched at the harshness in Kex's voice while it surprised Anna, but she supposed that he had a right to be angry. "We need to talk." Thudd said nervously, it was at that moment when John came outside to get Kex and Anna before he saw the escaped dinosaurs. "What is going on here?" John asked as he crossed his arms, the four looked to him before the three humans turned to the guilty dinosaurs. "Please, we need help and to warn her about Ogthar's newest plan." Rhoga answered as she gestured to Anna, the young girl blinked in surprise while Kex eyed them suspiciously as he moved in front of his best friend. "What do you think?" Kex asked John warily, he looked between the kids and dinosaurs as he thought about what to do. "Let's hear them out." Anna spoke up, Kex and John looked at her in shock as Rhoga and Thudd smiled hopefully. "Somethings up. You two wouldn't come here without a good reason, and I'd like to know what it is." Anna explained honestly, Rhoga and Thudd were happy that Anna was giving them a chance. "After what they did?" Kex asked in shock, he and the others had told Anna about Rhoga and Thudd's part in Ogthar's plan on Kex's first days on Dinotopia, but to Anna, it sounded as if the two had been forced into helping Ogthar, and she was sure that he forced them into helping him again. "They came here looking for help, so let's hear them out." Anna responded fairly, she wouldn't judge Rhoga and Thudd based on their past actions, but she would give them a chance to prove themselves worthy of her help. "Now I see where she's going with this." Kex thought with a fond smirk, he knew how his best friend did things when it came to others proving themselves to her.
"Let's discuss this inside then." John told the four, the stern look he gave Rhoga and Thudd made it very clear that he would be watching them closely so they wouldn't do anything to hurt the babies or eggs in the nursery, both Rhoga and Thudd nodded as they walked inside behind him while Kex and Anna brought up the rear. "John did you get-!" 26 called before she stopped in shock, Mara appeared behind 26 with Spazz and Shanise in tow as they just stood there with their jaws hanging opened in shock. "We have guests." John told them all dryly, the four looked at Rhoga and Thudd in shock before giving them some much heated glares. "Why are they here?" 26 asked in annoyance, Rhoga and Thudd looked down in shame. "They came to get some help." Anna chided them, she really wanted the duo to have a good reason as to why they'd come to the only ones who would help them even after the trouble they caused by stealing the eggs in the nursery. "Let them state their case." Albagon's voice spoke up, everyone turned to him as he came into the hallway, and while he had a stern look on his face, Albagon agreed with Anna on hearing the two out in case Ogthar was up to no good again, and the wise old dinosaur knew that must be the reason for why the escaped duo would be there. "It had better be a very good reason." Mara said with a frown on her face, Rhoga and Thudd nodded in fear of the human girl. "It's a very good reason!" Both said quickly to the whole group, everyone went into the biggest sitting room in the hatchery so Rhoga and Thudd could explain everything they'd learned about the prophecy from Ogthar, who was convinced that Anna was the girl in the prophecy that would stop him and destroy the ruby sunstone once and for all. "That's what we were told." Rhoga said to the group, Thudd nodded as he told them how it was Ogthar that had broken them out of prison then forced him and Rhoga to help him get rid of Anna before she has a chance to even find the sapphire sunstone. "What do you think?" Kex asked Anna.
While Kex already knew what Anna was going to say, he needed her to say it to everyone else in the room. "I don't know about this prophecy, but I'll help you." Anna answered honestly, Mara, John and the dinosaurs were shocked to hear her say that she'd help Rhoga and Thudd. "You mean it? You'll help us?" Thudd asked in shock, he and Rhoga had thought that Anna would ignore helping them while only going to save all of Dinotopia while leaving the two of them to fend for themselves. "You've proven to me that you need help." Anna responded confidently, the two dinosaurs were so grateful for Anna giving them a chance to state their case that they got down on their knees then bowed to her while kissing her feet. "You don't have to do that, really." Anna said as she backed up, Rhoga and Thudd quickly got up as Mara then shot up from the couch in anger at Anna. "Why would you wan to help them?!" Mara yelled at Anna, Rhoga and Thudd backed away slowly from Mara as Anna stood her ground. "I can't ignore a plea for help." Anna responded calmly, this made Mara and everyone else confused while only Kex knew what Anna was talking about, so with that, he started up some music that everyone could hear as Anna started to sing again.

At the last line of the song, Anna opened her eyes and looked Mara straight into her own eyes. "Now do you understand?" Anna asked Mara gently, everyone in the room had somehow seen Anna's memories of how she'd stand up to the bullies of her school while protecting the weaker kids. "I understand." Mara relented with a sigh, she wasn't happy with the idea of Anna placing herself in danger as Ogthar was involved, but she was really impressed with Anna's courage to stand up to Ogthar in order to protect all of Dinotopia. "Where do we start the search?" Spazz asked in wonder, he wanted to help Anna since he would prove that he was brave just like her. "We don't know. Ogthar himself doesn't know where the sapphire sunstone is." Rhoga responded truthfully, Thudd nodded in agreement as Ogthar really didn't know where to start searching which meant that he and Rhoga didn't have the answer. "Where'd you guys get the sunstones from anyways?" Anna asked her hosts, John and Albagon told Anna and Kex about the world beneath which is where the dinosaurs had found sanctuary during what was known as the dormant times. "Maybe that's where the sapphire sunstone is." Kex speculated as Anna thought about how the humans of that time made their homes into the stone walls of the world beneath before coming back up to the surface world. "We'll do research tomorrow, but for now it's time to eat." John assured Kex, he and Anna shared a glance before hearing John invite Rhoga and Thudd to join them for dinner. "Thank you." Rhoga and Thudd said sincerely to him, everyone went into the dinning room while thinking of what was to come tomorrow, and hoped that Ogthar would stay in his lair for the time being.
New chapter done! Sorry for the wait, I was dealing a scratched cornea in my eye and it was sensitive to any type of light, so I couldn't update last week.
Anyways, I don't own Rhoga, Thudd or the song in this chapter, and the world beneath is mentioned in live-action movie that happened before this one.
