"Hello?" A knock on the door sounded. "Rei, you in there?"

I peeked through the hall to double check, and then opened the door to two people I was very used to seeing. "Hey there Scott. Good to see you guys too."

"Hi," Cassie said, and her pikachu gave me a "pika" from atop her head.

"Oh, hello there. I got your notice Rei. Congratulations on your opportunity. I gotta say though, I'm sad I won't see you anymore."

"Thank you," I said, feeling a tad guilty. "I really appreciate all you've done for me."

"It's no problem. If you've gotten a life changing opportunity, you should take it. Will you stay in contact with us?"

"Ah, sorry, I'm not sure if I'll be able to call or anything like that. But if I can, I'll do it right away."

"Aw, that sucks. Well, let's get in our goodbyes now." He opened his arms but thankfully kept his distance. "Still no hugs, huh?"

"Sorry, I just…"

"You don't have to apologize. C'mon Cassie, let's say bye now."

She fiddled around with her fingers. "Dad, can you bring out Pikachu?"

"Sure thing buddy."

Scott brought out a pokeball with the Pikachu I had Poke-sat for so long and sent it out.

Cassie picked the lil' fella up and waved its hand. "Goodbye Rei," she said.

Pikachu said at the same time a heartfelt "Pikaaaa"

"I'll miss you." I said.

"I'll miss you guys too. If I ever get the chance I'll try to get in contact with you again, alright?"

"That's a promise!"

Scott chuckled. "Please do. Alright, we have to get going now. Take care."

"Buh-bye," she said, waving alongside the pikachu as they went their way.

I smiled, and then got to business. "Arceus? Are you there?"

"I am. Are you finished?"

"Yeah, I'm done with everything now. I said my goodbyes, and even if someone looks into it they'll just think I became unreachable in a different region."

"Excellent. Now, do you have what you'd like to bring with you?"

"Yeah, I've got everything in this bag. I can take the bag itself, right?"

"Naturally."

"But what if its too advanced, and they see that its made of a future material? Won't that change the progression?"

"There's no need to worry about that so long as you don't meticulously explain how advanced the bag is."

"What about the photos I'm taking, aren't they too futuristic? And there's plastic, and lamination, and…"

I couldn't properly explain it, but Arceus was giving me that not a smile smile again. I felt my cheeks get red.

"Child, there's no need to fret over these things. You'll understand when you start your quest." it said gently. "Now, I have a gift for you. I believe these things trend in your world." Arceus manifested a bit of light, and after an intense surge, an arceus decorated phone appeared from the light.

"So is it alright since I'm bringing extremely futuristic technology into the world?" I asked, suspicious in spite of myself.

"Technology from god itself," it said, lowering its head, its eyes twinkling in that way only pokemon could. "Should they ever understand it, they deserve to reach me."

It didn't feel like an actual challenge ite was proposing to me, but I still felt intimidated by the declaration.

"This phone can help you in many ways on your adventure, and it can even contact the people you wish from any world;, all you need to do is think of their name and face, and I will attempt to connect you to them, though it will need a connection point just like this one. With that all said, are you ready?"

I gulped. This was it. "Yeah, I'm ready now."

I felt my vision distort. No, it was more than my vision, it was my very being, but I couldn't tell how to react. It didn't feel like anything, and the last thing I saw before my vision turned black was Arceus's visage.

"Good luck, young one."
