Chapter 2

"Dr. Animo," Ben identified as their eyes met and instinctively, stepped away from the man, "how did-?"

"I finally found you. It wasn't difficult to track your alien exploits when you insist on helping people all the time!" Animo circled him, "You thought you were such a big shot after stopping my mutated creations but they were merely the beginning."

Percy watched the two from a distance, his mind racing. The pen in his pocket felt heavy, a familiar weight he had come to rely on. He pulled it out and uncapped it, hoping for the reassuring transformation. Nothing. He frowned, glancing back at the unfolding chaos. What kind of mess have I gotten into this time?

Meanwhile, Animo continued as he inched closer towards Ben, "I will not be denied my place in history! Destroy him!" The last command was directed at the humongous toad as the latter stepped forward and shot its tendril-like tongue at Ben. Fortunately, Ben dodged it as the frog leapt and landed where Ben once stood.

Grandpa Max rushed towards the monster and Animo, "You're going back where you belong Animo."

"Never," Dr. Animo exclaimed as he pointed his gauntlet at Grandpa Max's approaching figure and shot a laser beam. This whole scene surprised Percy. Who are these people? What the hell is happening here?

He was distracted by Ben as the boy said, "Okay Dr. Freak-imo, Party's over." Percy watched in astonishment as Ben tweaked with the watch on his wrist and a cylindrical tower extended and rose out of the watch, green lightning surrounding it but Ben did not pay heed as he aggressively pushed the tower back into the watch and was covered in green light.

Everyone looked at the source of light and Percy noticed a strange creature having replaced Ben.

"Ben, you are-" Grandpa Max began which Gwen completed, "Stink arms?"

"Four arms in Stinkfly's body?" The creature questioned as it looked itself up and down. Webbed wings extruded from its bright red and muscular body, four tiny protrusions appeared from its head and, Percy noticed, a device attached in the middle of its forehead.

Not wasting any time, the frog leapt towards the alien, making the latter dodge it by jumping over it. Looking at the fallen faceplate that had dropped from the watch, gum only lasting so long, Ben concluded foolishly, "Must be another new alien. Now I can fly and kick butt at the same time. Cool."

Percy wasn't sure what was happening. Where was Ben? Why were Grandpa Max and Gwen not worried about this new creature and the lack of Ben? Despite having seen weird stuff like a woman with snakes for hair or a three-headed dog the size of a truck, this was beyond his usual weird. He looked around for a weapon, trying to ready himself for whatever came next.

The frog leapt on the alien's body, however, instead of crushing him, the latter used his four arms to hold the frog. His arms started shaking as he said, "Either you gained weight since last time or I am not strong as I used to be," and his strength caved in as the frog flattened the alien onto its back.

As the frog leapt aside and let the strange alien gather his bearings, Percy managed to find a plank from a broken stall and picked it up. Looking around Percy spotted the man that Ben had called Dr. Animo and started wheeling towards him.

Meanwhile, the wings at the back of the alien started fluttering as he stepped away from the charging frog, but unable to fly higher than a feet before his feet landed on the ground, "Too big to fly."

Finally, taking the moment of distraction, the frog crashed into the alien into the swamp, drawing the attention of the resting alligators. Trying to avoid them, the alien took small light leaps in the water while the frog followed behind with his massive hops. Successfully, the alien landed on the ground, drawing heavy breaths at the effort of his movements.

As Percy closed in on Dr. Animo, his heart pounded in his chest. He knew he had to do something. With a makeshift plank in hand, he swung at Animo, catching the villain by surprise. "Who are you?" Animo snarled, clutching the back of his head. Percy didn't answer, his mind too focused on the task at hand. He had faced monsters before, but this was something else entirely.

As he began to walk towards Percy, the frog crashed into him and sent him rolling away and crashing into the distance. Percy winced slightly but noticed a familiar glowing ring next to Dr. Animo, something that did not go unnoticed by the latter as he picked it up and muttered, "Well, well. What do we have here?"

Percy wasn't sure what the significance of that ring was but from Dr. Animo's malicious grin and the gleam in his eyes, he knew that the ring was not ordinary. Mustering his strength, he threw the plank at Animo and it crashed into his gauntlet, sending the object flying towards the alien.

"NOOOO!" Animo screeched and Percy noticed a shadow looming over him. Unfortunately, when he threw the plank, he got the frog's attention as it stared at him. A second passed as they stared at each other before Percy rapidly launched himself from the wheelchair as the frog's tongue shot at the wheelchair, smashing it to pieces.

"Percy!" Gwen's voice came and Percy, who had closed his eyes in surprise, found himself on his feet, his fists clenched as his body readied for battle. He wasn't sure how it happened but he did not have the chance to complain as the frog jumped high in the air again.

Luckily, its target this time wasn't him but the alien as it landed between Dr. Animo and the alien. With a hateful look, Dr. Animo climbed onto the humungous frog and said, "Let's go." The frog blinked and leaping multiple times, disappeared behind the thicket of forest.

The alien tried following but was engulfed in a bright red light and Percy noticed Ben landing out of it. As he stood there in shock, Ben called out, "That's right! You better run!"

"So Ben," Gwen spoke as she reached him followed by Grandpa Max, "Why did you turn into some freaky alien combo platter?"

Ben looked at his watch as it resembled the similar half diamond pattern with the tower partially protruding from the base and lightning emerging from the edges.

"What did you do to the watch?" she demanded.

"Its no biggie," Ben pointed at the watch, "It goes right back on. Now, where is it?"

The three started looking around in the swamp, having forgotten about Percy till the latter screamed out, "What the fu-?"

A/N: I actually planned on writing the whole episode and then having Percy act BUT I decided to skip that section of the story. Dr. Animo will come to play a bit later again but not at this very second. You will see soon how this story goes. Hope you enjoyed this chapter and, with exams over, I will be updating all my fics as quickly as I can. I literally write these chapters in like 2-3 hours before uploading so I shouldn't have much of an excuse. If you enjoyed, please consider following, favouriting and maybe even reviewing. I would really appreciate whatever I can get at this stage, especially for a crossover such as this.
