Chapter 3: Room Of Requirement…
'But…why?' I wondered, staring up at the large tapestry.
A moment later the large troll on the bottom right smashed Barnabas flat, and his attempt to teach Troll's ballet ended in a rather graphic fashion. I couldn't imagine the state of mind it would take to ever think that a Troll could learn Ballet, but if the tapestry was to be believed, he technically succeeded. He only died because the one that smashed him had grown hungry and tired…
'Well…he was known as Barnabas the Barmy for a reason.' I thought as I turned away to face the opposite wall.
Over half an hour ago I had set out from the Great Hall to the Room of Requirement, and when I tell you I thoroughly enjoyed every step I took, believe me. Hogwarts was alive around me, full of people, places, and things of interest! The strength of will it took not to take every detour afforded to me was immense…following the glowing blue line past two suits of armor arguing which was shinier was tough, ignoring a glowing white fairy that beckoned me down a dark corridor was surprisingly easy. The odd detour through a hidden garden on the 4th floor because the line adjusted at exactly 8:30 am was an interesting sight, and I had to make sure to come back when I could. That there was no way the garden had a view of the sky was neither here nor there…the sun was clearly visible through the greenhouse-like ceiling…
My eyes narrowed at the wall in front of me, as I began to pace.
'I need the room of hidden things…' I thought once, twice, thrice.
When my eyes opened, the door had appeared, the blue line floating right through it. I looked around and spotting still no one, I walked forward, grasped the handle, and pulled it open, the blue line disappearing as I did so. Stepping through, the first sense to be affected was smell…the room was full of the smell of…old. The room was massive, certainly beyond measure. Knowing that in the books they had a full broomrace escape from the room, its size was certainly not a surprise. It was dark, with floating lanterns here and there as the only light source. I wondered why but realized that I had pictured it as it was in Hogwarts Legacy. I closed my eyes, imagining the brightly lit version from Half-Blood Prince, and when my eyes opened, the room had changed.
Gone was the darkness, replaced instead with bright white light, illuminating everything around me. A room of infinite possibility…I took out my wand, looked around the entryway, and thought of the spell I needed.
"Accio Wand!" I intoned, spinning the tip of the wand in a short spiral as the movements came to me.
Accio Spell +0.1%
I didn't get any feedback other than that, telling me the spell had taken. There was a wooshing noise, a slight whistle, as 19MP was deducted from my total. The spell requirements were much higher for Accio, being a 4th year spell, but I could still do it nearly indefinitely. With 3,325MP and 404/h MP Regen, I could cast it over and over with little worry that-
"Ouch!" I yelped, as something hard smacked into the side of my head, clattering to the ground.
I rubbed furiously at my head, massaging the sharp sting away, as I looked down. A short wand, likely 6 inches, light brown wood with a heavy grain to it. There were little grooves around the handle side, very little filigree compared to my own wand.

Acclimation: Acclimated - Eliose Spiringer
Material: Acacia/Fairy Wings
Opinion: Disparate
"Oh wow…" I said, reading the information my ability gave me. The wand was over 1000 years old, nearly as old, perhaps older than, Hogwarts itself. That explained the treasure level and rarity, I suppose. Fairy Wings was an odd one, not one I remembered from the books or games. I didn't know much about the wood, either, for that matter…and if it started giving me words like disparate, I'd likely need to find a dictionary. I thought it meant upset or something like that. I reached down, picking up the wand carefully. I felt no warmth from it, no spark or tingle. When I attempted to cast Lumos with it, not even a spark.
'Probably incompatible?' I thought, before placing the wand in my pocket.
Taking out my own wand, I began again.
11 am - Room Of Requirement - Room Of Hidden Things
In the two hours I had stood here, fourteen more wands had been summoned, and a large lump had formed on my head. Some were broken, beaten up, or otherwise in bad shape. Of the remaining, only 6 were in usable shape…and of those, only two ended up being compatible at all. One, a dark European Red Oak and Unicorn Hair wand, 11 inches. It was not quite as strong in response as the Ebony Wand I'd begun with, but was more than workable.

After I'd cast a few spells through it, its opinion had changed to Content, acclimation to my name, and the spells became easier to use. The final wand was Silver Lime and Phoenix Feather, created in 1801.

Opinion: Uncaring
It reacted well enough to me, but it certainly struggled to cast spells. I'd keep it as a backup to the backup, at least. I wondered what I should do with the remaining five wands in workable condition, but decided to keep them. While they didn't seem to work for me, that didn't make them useless…though I did have limited pocket space.
"Don't I have an Inventory or something?" I asked aloud.
No sooner had I spoken, then did an Inventory Pop-up appear, filling the air in front of me. Taking all but the Red Oak Wand, I placed the rest within the inventory, the wands disappearing as soon as they touched the floating box. A tab at the top appeared titled "Wands". I looked around, spotting what I wanted.
"Accio Book!" I said, causing the gray book to shoot towards me.
I snagged it from the air, and touched it to the box, causing it to disappear. A new tab appeared at the top titled "Books". I tapped on it, and the box shifted, showing a series of squares, one which held the book I'd just placed in it. I thought of grabbing the book, and it appeared, floating right in front of me, before dropping to the floor. I picked it up, and after a few tries, perfected grabbing items from within the inventory. I opened the book, before tossing it aside. I'm sure a 5th year Potion Manual on Fertilizer Potions could be helpful, but for the moment I didn't need it. With a thought the Inventory closed, clearing my view once more.
"Speaking of potions…Accio Potion!" I cast, listening for the telltale sound of something flying through the air.
I heard it at last, whipping around, my wand at the ready. "Impedimenta!"
Not a moment too soon, the light yellow spell hit the potion bottle mid air, slowing it to a halt right before it would have smashed into me. I snatched it from the air before the Jinx could end, allowing it to fall and smash to the floor.

Sadly, whoever had brewed this potion didn't know about everlasting charms, or whatever they were called. I set it carefully on a nearby table, considering what else I could search for.
"Too bad my little GPS thing can't point toward objects, like the Ravenclaw Diadem," I said to myself, rolling my eyes.
To say I was shocked as the little blue line appeared at my feet, pointing off into the distance was an understatement.
"Ah, piss balls."
I was slightly regretting not heading down for lunch as I climbed down from another towering stack of refuse. I'd been following the blue line in as much of a direct path as I could, trying to figure out exactly where it was taking me, for the past thirty minutes. I wiped the sweat from my forehead, taking a short rest. Climbing up and down the towers of furniture was tiring.
"I really, really fucking wish I…could…fly…" I said, halting at the end. "Mother fucker. Accio Broomstick!"
A minute later, the whishing sound of an item flying at me at high speed caused me to throw myself aside as a broomstick smashed into the wall of refuse I'd been leaning against.
'I need to get better at this spell…' I thought as I walked over to the broom. 'Now let's see…'
Holding my right hand over the broomstick, I called out "Up!"...but nothing happened. "U-up?"

I stared down at the useless broom brooding, taking out my wand once more. "Accio Magical Broomstick!"
A moment later I once more threw myself aside with a cry of "Son of a bitch!" as a much sleeker broom nearly impaled me to the wall like a bug. I got up from the floor, my knees aching, and stared down at the broom beneath me.

"Finally!" I crowed, putting my hand over it, "Up!"
The Broom shot up like a rocket, smacking into my hand hard, nearly escaping my grasp. Holding it steady, I threw my leg over the broom, resting slightly on it. It was floating well enough as is, though felt a little jumpy. I lifted my legs, checking to see how hard it was to balance on it. At first, I felt like I was tipping to one side or the other, but after a few moments managed to stay still. I pulled back slightly on the handle, rising slowly into the air, keeping my back as straight as possible. It took a minute or two to get above the stacks of items in the room of hidden things, but once I was, I felt a bit better about the choice to try this. I spent the next few minutes turning, going up and down, and by leaning forward, flying slowly ahead.
Slowing down was a little weird, straightening up and pulling slightly back on the handle, but after another few minutes started to feel natural. Once I felt comfortable, I started back on the path I'd started half an hour ago, flying in the direction the little blue line indicated. Without needing to climb over, under, or around the various piles, I found myself at my destination fairly quickly. As I touched down on the ground and placed the broom in my inventory, I saw then what I'd expected to find.

Description: Ravenclaw's Diadem 982 CE/Horcrux Of Tom Riddle 1951 CE
Material: Silver/Blue Sapphire/Soul Of Tom Riddle
Attributes: +20 Intelligence/+10 Perception/Wisdom Lvl. 5
"Oh boy…" I said, looking at the thing of evil.
The stat boosts were amazing, and it gave you an ability. I could only imagine what went into the creation of such an artifact…If my ability could lead me to the Diadem, what else could it lead me to? The Deathly Hallows? Something of Merlins? Yet, it didn't seem perfect…I wondered now why the Diary hadn't done the same when I'd asked for directions to it, but set the idea aside for the moment. Maybe the answers could be mine if I simply put on the Diadem.
Gamers Mind Activated!
I jumped back, my hand having only been inches from the Diadem, my heart pounding in my chest. I stared at the thing, a feeling of both awe and horror coming over me. With a thought my Inventory appeared, and with another the broom from before appeared as well. I climbed on and lifted off until I was floating 30 feet away from the wicked thing. I hadn't even noticed I'd moved, and only whatever the Gamer's Mind was had saved me from what was likely a painful death. With a grimace I turned away, flying rapidly away as the line adjusted for the entrance to the room.
'Definitely leaving that for another day…' I thought as I fled.
Flee I did, and with every foot I put between myself and the Diadem, I felt a palpable difference. There had been a slowly creeping feeling of oppression, unnoticed as it had slowly increased as I approached the Diadem. Now though, rapidly speeding away, the difference was massively different. I landed the broom with a bit of a bump, tossing it into my inventory, and sat down with a huff at the entrance to the Room.
'That…was close.' I thought, looking back at what had just happened.
Knowing the universe I was now in was meaningless if I didn't carefully use, and consider each part. I had a large spell repertoire to build off of, knowledge of secrets and stuff of that nature, but how useful would it be if I died a horrible death before any of it came to fruition? Granted, I was only a single day into this world, and a restart wouldn't cost me a bunch, but that didn't exactly sound fun. I promised myself then and there to proceed with caution…
'First step…learn everything I can about my enemy.' I thought as I got to my feet. '...But where does one even learn about Horcruxes and their weaknesses?'
