AN: Hey guys, here is chapter 4. I will admit that it is not my best work. I'm sorry. This chapter is probably going to be controversial or not. I might have rushed in the end because summer vacation is around the corner and I was very stressed. I will not post a new chapter until summer vacation is over. This is goodbye for now, but I will return.
Naoto stood in shock as he saw his father wounded on the ground with his mother beside him trying to stop the bleeding. "Mom, what happened?" Naoto's mom replied, "We came home early and we were on the couch watching TV until a man came in with a gun. He was trying to rob the house and your dad tried to stop him but he got shot and the man ran away and took your dad's car. I already called an ambulance and they are on their way." Naoto heard an ambulance's siren come closer and he wanted to think that he was having a nightmare.
Naoto sat in the waiting room with his mom waiting for the doctor. The doctor came into the waiting room and approached them. Naoto's mom stood up and asked the doctor, "How is my husband?" The doctor replied, "I'm sorry. He didn't make it." Naoto and his mother were shocked at the unexpected news. The doctor said, "You can see him one last time to say your goodbyes."
Naoto and his mom entered the room where his father was and were shocked at the sight of his body covered by a sheet. They approached him and took off the sheet to reveal his face. His face looked peaceful. Naoto felt tears roll down his eyes. He could not stand that, "I'm sorry, Dad. I should have come home; maybe we could have taken that guy down together. I promise you, Dad, I won't rest until I bring the guy who did this to justice." Naoto's mom told Naoto, "Let's go home, Naoto. I can't stand seeing this." Naoto nodded as he turned to face his dad one last time, "Goodbye, Dad."
A few days passed and Naoto looked outside his room's window thinking about his promise. He was lost in thought when he heard his mom ask, "Hey, are you okay?" Naoto turned to face his mom and responded, "Yeah, I was just thinking about something." Naoto's mom looked at her son and said, "I know what you're thinking about. I know that you're angry and want revenge because of what happened to your dad, but you must know that wanting revenge is not something he would have wanted us to have in our hearts." Naoto responded understandingly, "You're right, Mom. It's not what he would have wanted." Naoto's mom hugged him and replied, "I'm glad that you understand. Now get ready for school, you're gonna be late."
Naoto walked to school and noticed that Nagatoro was running toward him. She said looking worryingly, "Hey, Senpai, how are you holding up?" Naoto responded, "I'm fine. Thanks for asking. We should get going or we're going to be late." Nagatoro agreed and they walked to school together. They arrived at school and went their separate ways.
Naoto sat down on his stool in the art room which was finally open. He started to draw a bowl of fruit until he heard the door open. It was Gamo, Yoshi, and Nagatoro. Naoto confused asked them, "What are you doing here? Don't you have a table in the dining hall where you hang out?" Gamo responded, "We do, but there's been this one group of boys lately that won't shut up, so we sent someone in to destroy the group from the inside out." Yoshi repeated, "Destroy!" The girls laughed evilly at their plan. Naoto thought, "Gotta make sure that I don't ever get on their bad side."
Meanwhile, that same group of boys were at a table playing video games and didn't notice a blond girl approach them. "Hey guys, what are you up to? Are you gaming? Come on, teach me!" All of the boys blushed at the sight of her. She started flirting with each of them, and the other guys would get jealous of the guy that she was flirting with.
In the art room, Gamo asked Naoto, "Hayase told us about what happened to your father, Paisen. How are you?" Naoto looked at all three girls looking worried. Naoto responded, "Yeah I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me. I'm perfectly fi…" Naoto stopped himself because he felt his spider-sense tingling. He decided to call it that since it warns him of danger like real spiders. Gamo then looked at her phone and said looking scared, "It's Sakura! Someone has entered the building!"
Naoto stood up and opened the closet door. "Quick, get in here!" The girls walked to the closet door and went inside the closet. "Senpai, aren't you coming inside too?", asked Nagtoro. Naoto replied, "I will but I have to lock the art room door." Naoto closed the closet door and looked at his bag that carried his disguise. He grabbed his bag and left the art room locking the door. Naoto walked toward the bathroom, checked if anyone was in there, opened his bag, and took out his ski mask and hoodie. "Can't believe I'm about to do this." Naoto put on the hoodie and the ski mask and left the bathroom. He started to make his way to the dining hall. When he got there, he saw a masked man in some kind of armor with some weird gauntlets holding students as hostages. "I've gotta take this guy down quick." Naoto quietly walked toward him but was noticed by the man. The man tried to punch Naoto but Naoto dodged the attack by jumping and landing on the ceiling. The masked man asked, "What are you supposed to be?" Naoto replied, "Funny, I was about to ask you the same question. But instead, I'm going to do this." Naoto shot webs at the masked man until he was tied up trying to free himself. Naoto jumped down from the ceiling landed on the floor and said to the hostages, "It's okay. You can trust me. You can go now." He then told the man "You can try to free yourself, but you won't be able to. Now, time to see who is behind the mask."
As Naoto tried to remove the mask, his spider-sense started tingling. The masked man used his gauntlets to send a powerful vibration that freed him and sent Naoto flying crashing into a wall. Naoto stood up, "What happened? I feel like I've been hit by a bus." Naoto looked at his hand and saw the man's mask in his hand. Naoto looked at the man and immediately recognized the man's face. It was the same man who killed his dad. Naoto stood in shock.
At that moment, Naoto's expression turned furious as he charged at his father's killer. The man shot a much more powerful blast that sent Naoto flying through walls and crashed through a classroom. "Ow. OK, calm down. It's not what Dad would have wanted. I need to get those gauntlets off of him. That's the only way I take him down." "Come on, don't tell me you're dead already! I expected much more of a fight!" As the man turned and walked away, he noticed Naoto using his webs as a slingshot and launching himself. The man tried to use his gauntlets, but Naoto webbed the gauntlets, preventing him from activating them. Naoto punched the man, sending him crashing into a wall. Naoto approached him and noticed that he was unconscious. Naoto took off the gauntlets and was about to destroy them until he noticed the word OSCORP on them. "Wait a minute, that was the same word in that briefcase with the spider that bit me. I need to find out what this word means."
Naoto then heard police officers coming toward the dining hall making Naoto quickly tie his father's killer with his webs. Naoto jumped up to the ceiling waiting for all the officers to be distracted by his father's killer and crawled his way to the bathroom. Naoto opened the bathroom door, checked if anyone was in there, and landed on the floor. He removed his ski mask and hoodie and put them in his bag. "What was I thinking? Going out there with no plan? I may have taken him down, but that was pure luck. But those students are safe because of me. I showed my existence. I can't disappear, people will need someone to help them. This is my power and keeping everyone safe is my responsibility." Naoto now knew what he had to do, he now knew that with great power comes great responsibility.
"Oh crap, I forgot about the girls." Naoto unlocked and opened the art room door and saw Nagatoro, Gamo, and Yoshi were nowhere to be found. "They probably were evacuated when the cops arrived." Naoto made his way to the exit and was approached by the girls. Nagatoro punched his arm hard. "OW! What was that for?" Nagatoro replied angrily, "What do you mean what was that for? You left us in the closet! Where were you, Senpai?" Gamo asked, "Yeah why'd you do that, Paisen?" Yoshi asked, "What gives?" Naoto replied, "I'm sorry that I left you guys alone and I can't explain why I left. Just know that it was to keep you safe." Nagatoro said angrily, "We don't need anyone to save us! Let's go, Yoshi!." Nagatoro and Yoshi left making Naoto feel terrible. "Look, Paisen, I know that you have a reason for this and so does Hayase. She deeply cares about you and she was worried that something had happened to you. Go talk to her." Naoto was shocked after hearing that Nagatoro cared about him. He thanked Gamo and ran in the direction Nagatoro was headed. He eventually saw her ahead of him alone. "I guess Yoshi went home." Naoto approached Nagatoro, "Hey Nagatoro." Nagatoro ran away from Naoto. Nagatoro said, "I thought that something had happened to you or worse, that you left us." Naoto looked down, "I would never leave any of you behind. It's not who I am. If I'm being honest, you guys are my only friends; if something happens to you, I would never forgive myself. I left the art room because I thought I could distract the guy who broke in." Nagatoro asked, "So what happened, Senpai?" Naoto replied hesitantly, "I…I…I was saved by someone." "Was it an officer?" "No, he had a mask on. He…was like a superhero." Nagatoro laughed, "A superhero? Really? Well anyway, I'm glad that you're safe, Senpai. Mostly because I can still tease you." Naoto smiled, "Alright. Anyway, I need to go home now. See you." Naoto started to walk making his way home when he was stopped by Nagatoro yelling, "Wait, Senpai!" Naoto turned around. Nagatoro then said, "Let me give you my number. That way I can tease you even at home." Nagatoro gave Naoto her number and Naoto sighed and gave her his.
Naoto arrived home, went up to his room, and laid on his bed. His phone got a text message from Nagatoro. He looked at the message, 'Are you doing something pervy, Senpai?' The message was followed by some cat stickers. "Maybe giving her my number was a mistake. Oh well, what can I do about it now?" Naoto put his phone down and fell asleep.
