You see an open grave and the author comes climbing out. Once dusted off, I look and ask, how long was I napping? Welcome and greetings to another chapter of Gravity Falls for Devils, and honestly, there is no reason I can come up for the laziness, lack of work ethic, and generally getting distracted by games and ooh, shiny, stop. First I should address something regarding Pacifica Elise Northwest, and that is the confusion regarding her piece. Originally she was planned to be a Bishop, but some things happened to change the plan and going forward she is going to be a Pawn, and if you know how to play Pawns right, they can be quite effective pieces in the world of DxD.
Now, I also know that many of you that tried to solve the code, and while I can confirm one solved, I must apologize for the poor quality. I tried to use a method that my co-writer, shadowwriter329 tried and failed miserably. From now on, I am going to stick to codes I know I can decode and others can more easily decode. Though I will try to shout out for those that did solve the code: Psychochiken
Now I got a review that makes me wonder on somethings to change up future events of the story even more, including potential pairing potentials that I got check with 329, again because one suggestion does make things a little less messy, but does open a whole nother can of worms. Now to present you with Scary-Oke take.

"Welcome to the Grand Re-opening of the Mystery Shack!"
Inside the gift shop of the newly repaired Mystery Shack, it was filled with a crowd mostly of townsfolk and a few tourists who managed to visit at the right time. Most of the twins' peerage were also in the crowd to show their support now that their hard work was paying off. The only ones that weren't there were Kim and Ron, who were on a mission/request, and Pacifica who promised she would show up at the party but couldn't be seen at the shack with everyone from town around. Stan was standing on a box behind the front counter, beaming at the crowd and enjoying the attention though he was just happy the Shack was open once more and able to make him money. "We are here to celebrate the defeat of that skunk, little Gideon."
He held up one of the stuffed Gideon dolls, one of the few that have survived as they are mostly used as target practice. Seeing the toy of the fallen star, the crowd gave a series of 'Boo!', as they still felt betrayed by Gideon. Stan chuckled and held a hand up to give them pause, "Please, please…Boo harder!"
The crowd did as suggested but to Stan's enjoyment as he tossed the doll aside. "But I didn't catch the little pork chop all on my own. These two troublemakers and their friends deserve some of the glory."
Mabel pouts and jabs at Stan's side with her elbow. He gave a small jump before he rolled his eyes and added jokingly, "Alright, alright, most of the glory."
The local owner of a failing newspaper, Toby Determined stepped forward and told them, "Smile for the camera." He then held up the object he was holding to take the picture except…
"That's a cinderblock, Toby," Stan told him in a deadpan tone.
Toby Determined moaned in disappointment, "I just wanted to be a part of something,"
He was then pushed aside as new reporter Shandra Jimenez moved forward with her cameraman, "smile for a real camera," she told them.
"Say 'Something stupid'!" Mabel called out as she was pulled into a pose with her Grunkle and brother.
"Something Stupid!" All three said, the good mood allowing the boys to go along with the fun.
After the picture was taken Stan straightens up and adjusts her tie. "And don't forget to come to the after-party tonight!"
"We're having a Karaoke-Bonanza!" Mabel declared giddily as she pulled out a large karaoke machine. "There's going to be lights, fun! Action! And a live performance of our family band Love Patrol Alpha!"
She then held a handmade poster where the three of them were around a karaoke machine, wearing outfits only Mabel would willingly wear and music notes showing they were all singing together. Both male members of the family denied it at once, "I never agreed to this./You don't want to hear this old man sing."
"Too Late!" Mabel said with a glee. "I wrote your names down. It's happening."
Wendy noticed how Mabel was making things awkward for her family members and decided to move things along so they could work it out for themselves. She stopped near the door and sounded an air horn, getting everyone's attention. "Buy your tickets now people!" She opened the door and motioned them outside to where the tickets were being sold at a stand run by Lilo and Stitch. "You know you don't have anything else to do with your lives. I'm talking to you Pizza Guy! Don't lame out on me!"
As the crowd started to leave, Wendy gave Dipper a wink and followed the rest outside, leaving the Pines and remaining peerage members. Stan sighed and leaned against the countertop. "Ahh, this is nice. The town loves us, we got that Gideon smell out of the carpet. Everything is finally going my way. And the best part is Serafall is busy so she won't crash the party and make a scene."
"Too bad," Mabel pouts, as she looked forward to going a duet with her mother at the party. But this was an important meeting with one of the other supernatural factions and as one of the leaders she needed to be there.
Dipper was also relieved as he knew if their mother would attend then she would force him to do karaoke with her and Mabel. He did, however, look to his great-uncle. "Grunkle Stan, now that we have a moment, can I have my journal back?"
Stan blinked at the request, "journal?" he asked before he snapped his fingers, "Oh that thing. Yeah, hold on." He walked to one of the cupboards and dug through the junk before he pulled it out and handed it to him. "Sorry, I forgot you would want it back. I looked through and got a few ideas, but I got bored so I might pass on them."
"Really?" Dipper asked skeptically. "You're just going to give it back to me? Just like that?"
"What'd you want? A medal?" Stan asked sarcastically. "The yahoo that wrote it was clearly high on something."
Dipper gave him an annoyed look, "You know about the supernatural yet you think the author isn't onto something."
Stan rolled his eyes and started to walk away, "There's a difference between knowing something and thinking you know something."
Dipper gave a short glare before heading into the main house with Mabel, Bloom, and Tambry following after him. Stan glanced back at them before he sided, being reminded once again how his nephew was so much like his brother. He just hoped Dipper would understand once the portal finished setting up or whatever it needed. He shook his head to take his mind off of the hidden issues and focused on getting things ready for the after-party, seeing the rest of the peerage members were cleaning up and doing jobs while Nabiki directed them. Stan then had a thought and walked over to her, "Hey Nabiki, you got a second?"
"Of course," she told him, checking off an item on a checklist she had made. "Is there another job that needs to be done before tonight?"
"Not a job technically," Stan admitted suddenly feeling a bit nervous. "It's just that tonight…do you think you can extend an invitation to the rest of the family?"
Whatever Nabiki was expecting, it wasn't that. She looked at her grandfather as the man looked nervous. Stan kept speaking, rubbing the back of his head and looking uncomfortable, "It's just, I know things were tense when I left and the bombshell that was dropped on everyone. And it has been a while but I kinda…want to, you know, get to know the rest of the family more. I know things are less awkward since I have been teaching you so much but your sisters and father, they're family too, and I…"
He stopped when Nabiki placed a hand on his shoulder, the granddaughter offering a soft smile, "It's okay, I'll let them know but I think they'll come. I know father hasn't been pushing too much but I'm sure he and my sister would like to see you more."
Stan relaxed for the first time in a while, feeling that things were going his way for a bit.
Upstairs in the twins' room, Dipper opened the door and let the others inside before shutting it and magically locking it. He then turned and used magic to protect the room and make sure no one could spy or listen in on them. He even turned Mabel's stuffed animals around so none of them were facing them. It even got to the point that Tambry hid her phone for fear her king would try and do something to it. She might trust Dipper and wouldn't mind a relationship, but she wasn't crazy enough to have her phone messed with. "Are you alright master?" Bloom asked her king, seeing his slightly on edge.
Dipper sighed and turned towards them, "Sorry it's just I'm so aggravated at how carefree Grunkle Stan is about the Journal. I mean Gideon was after this and the other two for the secrets they hold. He knows the supernatural exists yet doesn't care about anything that someone studying it says."
He walked over and pulled a board with evidence and conspiracy about Gravity Falls, and the author. "I am halfway through the summer and I am no closer to figuring out the mysteries of Gravity Falls. Gideon was willing to destroy the town and get an Exorcise involved to get his hands on this. But why?" He started pacing as he laid out every other question he had. "Who wrote it? Where are the other journals and what did Bill mean when he said everything was gonna change?"
He stopped and turned towards them, "There's something huge going on right under our noses and I hate not knowing about any of it. It's time to stop goofing around and get to the bottom of this."
"And get burned out," Bloom warned him.
"She's right," Tambry added. "I understand wanting to take things seriously but there is a time to work and a time to rest."
Dipper made a face and started flipping through the Journal once more. Mabel sighed, "Bro, you looked through that thing a bajillion times; there's nothing left to discover. Half the pages are blank before you started adding your own entries."
Dipper sighed, "I just feel like I am one puzzle piece away from figuring out everything."
"Nothing could be found with magic?" Tambry asked as she found that hard to believe.
Bloom answered her, "There are several spells that can be used to find secrets but those are mostly used on books that have magic infused with them. they are less effective on normal books."
Dipper nodded, "While there was that spell to get us into Grunkle Stan's mind, the Journal itself didn't hold the magic rather the spell did." He then stopped and glanced towards the window. "Do you guys hear something?"
Meanwhile, down the main lobby and gift shop, Soos was working when he noticed something out the window. He took a look to make sure he knew what he saw before asking, "Mr. Pines, what was the word I was supposed to use if I see a government vehicle?"
"It was feds. Wait, government vehicle?" Stan reminded the handyman before taking a look at the window. That was when he saw the black car with two men in suits coming out. He already imagined the bumper stickers of 'honk if you want to be arrested' and 'tax exempt' on it. The men were an older man with a slightly balding hair that was grey and a younger looking man, possibly a rookie or a less experienced agent.
Now, Stan was a man that never closed anything down, but when he saw those agents he panicked. "The Mystery Shack is now closing early! Everyone please leave right now, and remember I will not hesitate to use the fire hose on the elderly!"
Dipper, Mabel, and the rest came down to that commotion, and knew Stan never closes the gift shop ever. Not even the time they locked Tyler Cutebiker in the gift shop when he was trying to figure out whether to get a puma shirt or panther shirt for Christmas, while the summer was still in the early swing.
Stan looked nervous as he paced around the gift shop, waiting as the others started to gather around. Then the doorbell rang and Stan rushed to open it up. "Welcome to the Mystery Shack gentlemen!" Stan proclaimed to the two men that were clearly government agents. "What can I get you? Key chains? Snow globes?" he asked while pulling out a few from his suit pockets before pulling out a five from his sleeve, "these rare photos of American presidents?"
Here Stan winked to try and show he was offering them a bribe but the agents ignored him. "My name is Agent Powers, and this is Agent Trigger" said the older agent, tall with hair starting to go bald on the side of his head and a trimmed mustache. The second agent was younger, blond hair, broad shoulders and had a strong looking chin. Both agents held their badges and flipped them down to reveal their info "We're here to reports of mysterious activity here in town."
"Activity!" Agent Trigger added, pointing to Stan.
Stan looked around nervously, trying to play it cool. "Mysterious activity? In the Mystery Shack? You got to be joking."
"I assure you I am not," Agent Powers said with the same stern face. "I was born with a rare disorder that prevents me from experiencing humor."
Stan gave a nervous laugh, not sure how to take what was going on. Powers raised a brow at him, "I don't understand the sound you're making with your mouth." He then moved forward and push Stan aside to let him inside the gift shop. "Now if you excuse us, we'll be conducting an investigation."
Stan saw he couldn't stop the man without causing more trouble, so he said nothing, even when Trigger gave him a small poke to the chest as he adds, "investigation!" as an attempt to intimidate him.
Stan however gave him a deadpan look before he looks to Powers while jabbing a thumb toward Trigger. "Can he actually think and speak for himself or is he just another trained government monkey that just repeats what he hears for treats?"
"Heeeey," Trigger moaned, looking actually hurt from the comment.
Dipper raised a brow at the agents as they took a quick look around the gift shop. "Are government agents really investigating so call mysteries of a small town?"
"That information is classified." Powers told him, before stepping forward. Believing he had a lead he leans forward and whispered, "but yes. Look, between you and me, I believe there is a conspiracy of paranormal origins all connected to this town. We are just one lead away from blowing the lid on this entire mystery."
"Oh really?" Dipper asked him, fainting interest. "You seem like you know a lot already."
"Perhaps we can pool our information," the agent said as he pulled a card out and handed it to Dipper. "If you have anything to share with us, just call this number."
Dipper took a look over the plain looking white card with the agent's name, a number and a symbol of an eagle peeking an eye through a magnifying glass. Dipper tipped his hat to the agent, "perhaps I will."
Stan noticed this interaction and decided to deal with that later. For now he focuses back on the agents, "gentlemen this whole paranormal crap is drummed up by guys like me to sell tickets. Puts food on the table so to speak."
Trigger narrows his eyes at him, "and you are fine just lying to people for money?"
Stan tried not to be a smartass, he really did but this guy made it too easy for him. "I lie to people and give them entertainment, you lie with the government and take everything from them. We're just simple men making our way through the galaxy."
Dipper facepalmed at this though Mabel had no problem giggling. Powers didn't look impressed while Trigger looked confused as if trying to figure out the puzzle that Stan had given him. Stan then snapped his fingers and Soos got to work, slapping two 'What is the Mystery Shack?' bumper stickers on the agents' chest and placing two silly antenna headband on top of their heads. "Bo-bo-bo-bop. Swag!"
Again Powers looked unimpressed, "we have other spots to investigate. We'll be on our way."
As he turned to leave Trigger scooped up an armful of the Stan/Mr. Mystery bobbleheads. "I'm confiscating this as evidence."
"Good idea," Powers told him as they left the shop.
The group waited until the agents were in their car and drove off. Once they were gone Stan turned and raised a brow at Dipper, his nephew noticing and rolling his eyes, "yeah, like I'm dumb enough to talk to a human government agent about the supernatural. I just said that so they wouldn't suspect anything." He then handed the card to his queen, "Bloom be a dear and get rid of this for me."
"Oh course," she said happily as she held the card between two of her fingers and in a small flash of smoke the card was ash.
"Damn," Powers mutters as he checked their laptop once they parked a short distance from the shack but still be hidden enough to spy on them.
"Did they suspect that we had a listening device in the card sir?" Trigger asked, still wearing his swag he got at the Shack.
"We can't assume anything," Powers told him as he took a pair of binoculars and gazed at the Shack. The view wasn't very good but he had a decent line of sight into the gift shop where a bunch of the kids were gathered. "I thought I might have had a lead, or at least someone to get inside information from." He then noticed the kid that he talked to pull out a large book with a golden hand on the cover and labeled as '3'. He hummed in thought. "We still might get some information from him. Perhaps that Journal can give us evidence."
Trigger took the offered pair of binoculars, he wasn't allowed a pair of his own, and looked inside to see the Journal in question. "I doubt we can just roll back up and ask for it" he pointed out. "Not since we didn't ask for it before and he didn't offer it."
"Yes, they will be on guard," Powers agreed. "We need a way to get that journal."
Trigger snapped his fingers and pulled out a flier that he also managed to snag on his way out. "There is a party being hosted there tonight. we could sneak in during it."
Powers took a look at the flier and thought it over, "even among the people of the town we'll stick out. But that doesn't mean we can't use this to our advantage."
Night came as the party was getting started, and everyone was willingly paying to get into the party. Among them included Wendy and Tambry's friends, Thompson wearing very bright clothes and carrying glow sticks.
"Ahh, I thought this was going to be a rave." Came the disappointed voice of Thompson as he apparently thought it was going to be the kind of party that had some serious problems with substance abuse, but the teens kind of laughed it off.
"Take off your shirt and make it a rave!" Lee said, essentially daring Thompson to take off said shirt, and Thompson's response was simple enough.
"I'll do anything for your approval!" He took off his shirt after speaking and took it off to show his belly flab for the sake of his friends, with Tambry taking a picture. "Please don't send that to anyone."
"I won't send it to anyone." Tambry was using her nature as a devil to twist the truth. She wasn't sending that pic to any one person, but to everyone with a simple push of the button.
As the teens were goofing around, more and more people were coming in for the party. Lazy Susan paid the entrance fee and proclaimed loudly, "Guess who's here with one good eye and one good pie!"
Manly Dan wasn't far behind her while holding two large barrels over his shoulders, "These kegs are filled with meat!"
Stan couldn't help but chuckle at that, "Just make sure they are out in the open and not our secret spot for the other kegs. I even broke out some of the good stuff you gave me last winter."
Dan grunts but also had a slight grin as he knew this might be more fun then he thought. Not many knew this but during the winter season when his lumberjack work was slowed to a crawl, the family needed a way to make money. So they turn to a try and true profession passed down from generations when winter came along…Moon-shine. Dan's grandfather did it, his father did it and he planned on teaching Wendy this winter now that he was getting of age. Stan not only knew but with his connected and own smuggling jobs during the winters months as well, they had a small partnership. It was a bit rocky at first since when Stan came with the idea the lumberjack but after going over a few details the other knew, they made a decent partnership. It was one reason why Dan didn't have a problem working for Stan even if he knew something changed in his daughter but figured if it was something that threatens' Wendy Stan would let him know.
As Dan walked to place his kegs in place, Tyler Cuterbike gave Stan his money while looking at his phone with amusement. "Oh Dan, look at this funny picture Tambry sent me."
Stan finished counting the money and locking it in his lock box, then he noticed a group of people walking out of the woods. It was the Tendo family with Ranma next to them. He stood up and smoothed out his suit as he walked over to greet them. His focus was on his son, which he still was wrapping his head around that he had a son this whole time. Stan stopped before them and spoke in Japanese, "Welcome to my home. I happy that you can be here." He paused and winced, "I think I said that wrong"
"It's alright" Kasumi told him in perfect English much to his surprise, "we're happy to be here."
Soun nodded and added also in perfect English, "yes, it is our honor to be your guests."
Stan stared surprise as he thought they didn't know enough English to hold conversations, and the short times since they last saw each other shouldn't be enough. He glanced at Nabiki who smirked at him, "Just the result of a projoct I've been working on. I made a series of temporary seals that when placed on a person, they can not only completely understand a predetermined language and be translated for them…for a fee of course. They last about four to twelve hours but they can pay extra to last even longer like my twenty-four hour seals or even seals that also work for written languages. I've been making a killing back home for students wanting to cheat for English classes."
Stan stared as he processed this information before he beamed, his chest filled with pride. "Attagirl Nabs, I'm almost want to steal some of them for the shack." He chuckled at the joke before held his arms open to his family. "Still I'm happy to see you all. I know last visit was a little…crazy but…ummm."
Soun nodded, "yes mother has called and ask if we could let her know if you ever visited us. She was rather upset and while it was for family honor there isn't much we can do." He then offered his father (something he was also getting use to) a smile, "but we're here to celebrate your restoration of your honor and home."
Stan smiled, and held his arm "Let me show you around. I know Mabel is setting up some karaoke which I recall is kinda big in Japan so the girls can have fun. I know a buddy of mine Dan snuck some of his secret stash so we can enjoy a drink. I know it's not saki but when you visit a new place you got to try some of the local treats. Let this old man treat his son to a real drink."
Soun hummed as he looked interested in trying something other then saki. "I will admit it would be a new experience. Shame Genma decided not to come as well."
Ranma snorted as Stan lead his son away from their group. "More like he's still sore that Stan could cheat as good as him and could at least hold his own."
"That and he was too cheap to pay for a seal," Nabiki added, not at all bothered by the man's refusal. It didn't help that she didn't offer a 'family discount' for her seals.
Kasumi however was looking around as more people arrive, "still this is a wonderful experience. I hope Mabel has a few songs we can all do together girls."
"Knowing my king she would already have several songs ready for us," Akane agreed, not remembering the last time she just relaxed with her sisters.
"This is amazing!" Mabel cheered loudly as she went through the karaoke machine she had and the list of songs it has already downloaded. "There is so many good songs!"
"Are they songs actually good songs or songs that you would love?" Pacifica asked, as while she considered herself friends with Mabel, she knew they didn't always have the same taste in music even of they both liked to sing.
Mabel pouts at her, "it can be both." Seeing Pacifica just raise a brow at her, Mabel sighed, "fiiine there are other songs too. So everyone can enjoy and sound bad together."
"Riiiiight," Pacifica muttered, not sure if that was a Mabel thing to something normal outside of her rich influences/heritage.
Mabel went back to the machine and listing different ones for later. "I'm sure everyone will want to try this so I'll save some songs for different groups. Maybe one of you girls can convince Dipper to get on stage and sing with you."
At first Pacifica agreed and nodded to the suggestion before she realized what she had said and stammered, "w-wait wh-wh-what do you mean by that?"
Mabel just gave her a bored look, "Pacifica, you might be one of my BFF's-"
"Debatable" Pacifica objected but was ignored.
"But I am not only a romantic but a shipper at heart. And I know you have a massive crush on my brother, which is why you joined his peerage but other girls also have crushes on him." Mabel then pointed to some of the other peerage members that were either finishing up last minute stuff for the party or mingling with some of the town folks. "Bloom wishes to take after her teacher who is not only the head maid to her king but his queen piece and not only his wife but mother to their child. Yuzu and Karin both like Dipper and I think I overheard them commenting on not caring if they have to share him. And then there is-"
"Okay I get it!" Pacifica interrupt, her face red. While she was the one pushing for the girls to come together in a harem for Dipper it doesn't mean she wanted to be call out on it before it happened. The only reason she believed Mabel doesn't know about their plan is because she would have called it out already if she did.
Mabel smiled and wrapped a hand around the blond's shoulder. "
"So what song do you want me to save for you ad Dipper? Cult of Dionysus? Vacay to Bone Town? Suc-or-bus? Bend me over and breed me like-"
"Okay you are making that last one up!" Pacifica shouts, finally having enough with the teasing.
Near the edge of the property, one teen was debating on if he should walk in or not. Robbie knew there was still tension between not only him and Wendy after the 'CD incident' but the ret of the gang since Tambry spilled the beans about what happen. While the boys were in disbelief at what happen, they seem to think that Robbie took it too far. None have really gone out of their way to talk to him and he knew he would have to apologize to Wendy for what he did. Taking a deep breath he was about to walk in before a voice called out from behind him, "young man, can you assist us?"
Robbie blinked at the odd questioned and turned to see two men in suits walking up to him. "Who are you losers?"
"I am agent Powers and this is agent Triggers," Powers said while both agents quickly flashed their badges before replacing them before Robbie could even get a decent look. "Perhaps you can assist us on an investigation?"
Robbie glanced from one agent to another before he asked in a bored tone. "And why should I?"
Trigger pointed a finger in Robbie's face, "because we work with the government and we can have your taxes altered."
No one said anything before Robbie smirked, "first, I'm a minor so the only taxes I have to pay are sale tax and the taxes taken from my paycheck. Second, do you even know my name to alter my so called taxes?"
Powers kept his blank look white Trigger's confident look dropped, "huh…that usually works."
Agent Powers tries to take control of the situation "he boy that loves here, the one with the hat, has a journal that can possibly be useful for our investigation. We would like you to retrieve it for us."
This cause Robbie to laugh, "okay I don't like the guy but you can take your offer, roll up sideways and shove-"
"I'll give you a hundred bucks," Powers said holding up the bill for Robbie to see.
Robbie blinked, taken aback by this. Then he snatched the bill and muttered, "where the motherfucker at?"
"Lilo my girl!" Mabel cheered as she walked through the party that was starting. She was greeting guests, including several of the people that she and her brother do contracts with like Mr. Poolcheck. She shivered as she passed as she thought he was creepy and that was saying something. But then Mabel saw her pawn arriving with her family. She recognized Lilo's older sister Nani as well as the two adopted 'uncles' that were in fact aliens in human disguises. Well they were barely considered disguises that honestly shouldn't work at all but she admired their commitment. The larger of the pair was named Jumba who actually was the one that created Stitch. The alien hide his extra pair of eyes behind some large glasses and added a fake bushy mustache under his round nose. His larger than average size and limbs could be explained by birth defects but even so he was still better then his partner Pleakley. Pleakley is a skinny alien with yellowish skin three legs and one large single eye on his face. He wore a wig to hide his bald head and antenna but did nothing to hide his large eye and if someone look at the bottom of the dress was wearing they would notice the three feet walking about.
Lilo waved as Mabel walked towards them, "you said that we could invite family so here we are."
"Thank you for inviting us," Nani told her. "And it's nice to see where Lilo has been hanging out when she isn't home." She glanced around the shack and the woods but figured she had Stitch and the other members of the 'club' (she barely understood the devil talk) would protect her and she was very happy with everything.
Lilo took her sister's hand and pulled her towards the makeshift stage. "Come on, they have karaoke. I want to do an Elvis song together while we show how real hula girls work!"
"Calm down Lilo," Nani told her sister though she didn't fight being pulled along and the smile forming on her face.
Stitch quickly followed along as he cackled like a manic. Jumba however was playing a scanner like device and hummed at the result, "…strange."
"What kind of strange?" Pleakley asked him. "A normal strange, our kind of strange or a devil kind if strange?"
"Yes," Jumba answered, which confused Pleakley even more. "This town…it seems to have a natural effect that attracts all things weird."
"Okay…" Pleakley said, not getting it. "Meaning?"
"That 626 was very lucky that he landed where he did," Jumba explained. "because otherwise he would have landed here."
Not too far away Wendy was laughing with Tambry, the red head looking at her phone and the picture of Thompson that was sent to her. "Oh girl that was mean…but too damn funny."
"I try," Tambry said as she typed away on her phone. She glanced around seeing Mabel setting up the karaoke machine for Lilo and her sister. "So any of the girls planning on asking Dipper to go on stage with them?"
"I'm sure some will," Wendy admitted before smirking at her friend. "Maybe you can share a sexy duet with him for everyone here."
"I don't sing," Tambry said, a little too quickly Wendy noticed.
"Come on, you used to sing when-"
"Not happening." Tambry quickly cut Wendy off as the others were gathering around, mostly to enjoy the party and others thinking of how to get a song or date in.
As people were getting into the party, music going and some people were dancing. Mabel was using the karaoke machine to sing a pop song with Candy and Glenda who were having fun even if they were not all on the same line and rhythm. No one else seemed to care they were either dancing or having fun as they mingled with each other. None of them noticed a figure hiding in the shadow of the Mystery Shack, though would have been totally visible if any of the devils were looking in his direction. Robbie felt he was in the clear and slipped inside the side doors. He ducked down to make sure no one noticed him before he snuck deeper into the house. Realizing that Dipper most likely left his journal in his room, he climbed the stairs as he recalled hearing the twins' room was in the attic. "Do they still share a room?" He asked aloud as he climbed the stairs. "I bet they can't afford their own rooms back home."
He gave a short laugh, not realizing the twins in fact grew up in a mansion and property that could dwarf Gravity Falls. Finally, he reached the final room and opened the door, happened to see it wasn't locked. "Now where is it?" He muttered, looking from the self to the desk before he grinned as he saw the journal sitting on the side table next to the bed. He picked it up and placed it under his arms as he snuck his way out. "Got the book, got this fucking heavy book."
But before he could take another step he froze as something could be seen sitting in front of him. It was none other than Waddles who sat adorably and gave a soft oink. Robbie flinched, recalling how Waddles 'attacked' him during the Mystery Fair. He took a step back, ready to bolt if Waddles made any sudden moves but the pig just sat there staring. Robbie took a deep breath, "Okay I can handle this."
He then stopped when he heard a low growl behind him. He turned to see something was now standing on what he assumed was Dipper's bed. It was small and the eyes glowed but he saw it reminded him of a velociraptor, with a blue tint to the scales. It seemed to bare its teeth at Robbie but unlike with Waddles, the teen looked more amused than anything else. "Nice try kid, but if you were going to use a toy to try and scare me then make it more believable." He then gives the raptor a flick on the nose.
From outside the room, nothing was happening but then suddenly there was a series of screeches, growls, and the sound of clothes ripping. But none of those were as loud as the girlish scream that echoed throughout the whole shack Robbie came running out of the room, his clothes having tears and rips while nursing a few stretches on his arms, hands, and face. As Robbie tumbled down the stairs, Blue and Waddles could be seen walking out of the room and watching as the intruder fled, showing the hole in the back of his pants where his heart-themed boxers were showing. As Robbie ran from the house, the familiars looked at each other and nodded before heading down the stairs to find their owners.
Agent Powers checked his watch as he waited with his partner. They figured they would wait another half hour for their vic- I mean volunteer to return with the prize. "Do you think he ran off?" Trigger asked him after a moment of silence between the two.
"He seemed like something we can exploit," Powers advised him. "Give him time."
Thankfully they didn't need to wait long as Robbie came running into the clearing, panting and holding the journal, "I'm (pant) here!"
"Excellent," Powers said stepping him and taking the offered journal. "This will be of great help to us."
Trigger however noticed how Robbie looked, "What happened to you?"
"Nothing," Robbie denied as he straightened up and cracked his back. "I'm just gone for the night. Good luck with your make-believe crap losers."
"Excuse me," Trigger said, slightly insulted while Powers flipped through the journal and ignored them. "This is evidence for our investigation. A serious investigation!"
Robbie rolled his eyes but gave the agent a smirk "Whatever makes you sleep well at night bub."
Trigger turned and took the book from Powers, the other agent looked annoyed, "I'll show how this will be serious."
"Easy agent," Powers tried to calm his partner down. "He's baiting you, poorly I might add."
Trigger however flipped through the journal rapidly, "gnomes? No. Curse objects? Oh here!" He then spoke the words written "Corpus Levitas, Diablo Dominus, Mondo Vicium!"
The last word seemed to echo throughout the clearing as the ground started to shake. As the three steadied themselves, Powers tore the book from Trigger's hands, "Did you serious just call out a spell…without knowing what it does?!"
Trigger blinked, "I didn't think that one through."
Then the sharing stopped before a hand burst from the ground, followed by an arm and something pulled itself free. The three screamed in fright from the shock before they calmed down seeing that a real-life zombie was staggering to its feet. "My god" Trigger whispered.
"This is the kind of evidence that we need," Powers said, taking the journal.
Robbie looked nervous as the zombie staggered towards them. "Umm, shouldn't we worry about that?"
"This?" Trigger asked him, gesturing to the zombie. He rolled his eyes and took out his gun and cocked it. "Kid we are federal agents, and one zombie isn't something to worry about?"
He then aimed and fired his gun, blowing a massive hole in the zombie's head. Before Trigger cold gloat, more hands burst from the ground and a massive crack broke along the survive. The single zombie was dragged under and from the sounds was ripped apart. As more zombies rose up, some looked bigger or had a mutation along their arms and shoulders. Powers and Trigger realized they needed to act and fired upon the zombies. Robbie backed away as the horde got closer, some stopping to rip apart and devour the fallen and grow in size as they did so. Robbie tripped and fell to the ground, feeling for what got him, and found the journal. He looked up in horror as one zombie seemed to have bulked up to have the upper body of a bodybuilder, swung its massive arms down, and knocked the two agents to the ground. One zombie seemed to notice him, the mouth split wide open and a larger wet tongue wiggled as if to try and catch prey. Robbie quickly grabbed the journal, got to his feet, and ran back towards the shack.
He didn't know what the hell was going on but he knew that if anyone could save their asses from a zombie invasion it would be the twins. Even if he was admitting it to himself, the very thought made him feel sick. But between that and the zombies, he rather takes his chances with the twins.
Dipper will admit he was having a fun time at the party, his friends were there and some of his peerage members pulled him into a dance or two, Bloom was happy that they shared one dance while Akane, and Nabiki sang a song with their older sister. But then his familiar came and got his attention. He knew that Blue wasn't supposed to be seen by others even as she tried to get his attention in the shadows, she clearly needed to tell him something. He looked over to see Mabel had Waddles next to her, not free to be seen by the others and trying to pull her towards the shake. He frowned and picked Blue up and motioned Mabel and some of the others to follow him. Once off to the side, he placed Blue down as Mabel did the same with Waddles, "Okay we're here girl, what's wrong?"
"Do you think it is something big?" Wendy asked, glancing at the baby raptor. "I'm not saying she acting up but it seems odd that she was dragging you here."
"Blue is almost as smart as Waddles," Mabel objected. "They knew to get us if something was wrong."
"Not to mention that she is a raptor, and they are pretty much the wolves of the dinosaur world, so that has to mean she's smart. Now lets find out what is wrong." Dipper said as he and the rest of the peerage looked as the two familiars were trying to tell them what was wrong. That was when Dipper noticed something. "Where's my journal?"
Blue made some more raptor squawks and such as she tried to explain things and where the journal was, but that was when Waddles got an idea. Waddles stopped blue and started to suggest using the claw to write down or draw things.
"What are they doing?" Wendy asked as the two worked together to effectively create a message to spell out what happened in any way they could.
"It looks like they're writing something." Nabiki said as she then started to make things out such as journal stolen, intruder, pasty skin, and tight jeans.
Everyone stared in shock at the message of not only the Journal being stolen but an idea who stole it. It didn't take long for Wendy and Tambry to connect the dots, "pale skin, tight jeans?" "That's Robbie!" they exclaimed almost instantly.
"Robbie?" Nabiki said with narrow eyes, "so he's causing trouble again."
"Okay this is odd even for him," Wendy said, shaking her head in disbelief. "Yes he's not a big fan of Dipper but to just steal something like this seems off."
"Like how he used that CD on you?" Bloom reminded her, causing the red head to frown.
"Still he'll either have answers or deal with what I have on him," Tambry said with narrowed eyes, still showing she hadn't forgiven him.
Before they could come up with a plan to find Robbie, they felt the shack shake. It wasn't just the shack but the grounds as well. The rushed outside as the party stopped as the town folks felt the shaking as well as see some of the trees of the woods shake and move as if something was heading towards them. They started to panic when Kim leapt onto the table and got their attention, "Everyone! Head back to yours homes now! We'll handle this!"
The normal civilians of Gravity Falls didn't need to be told twice as they all headed away from the back back towards the town. The only people that were staying were Stan, the two peerages, the two human Tendo members and Manly Dan. Dan looked concerned as he had his boys but his eldest was clearly going to stay and no doubt fight. Wendy noticed this and turned to him, "Dad, we got this. Go get my brothers home and keep them safe…please."
Dan looked at his daughter, surprised but she looked determined and willing to fight. He knew she had changed during this summer and it seemed that it was for the better. He nodded before he glanced at Stan and his adult son, having slightly bonded with them as they sampled his Moonshine. "I want the real details when this is over Stan."
"Just bring more booze because it's a crazy story," Stan promised as he got his best brass knuckles. He wasn't going to let his family, all of his family fight whatever this was alone.
Dan grunts as he ran to find his sons and get them to safety. The devils got ready, some having their wings out while others got weapons or spells. The shaking got more intense before something broke out of the treeline, screaming in panic. "Robbie!?" Wendy called out in shock as he grabbed him before he could run past. "What's going on?"
"Is that my journal?" Dipper asked with narrowed eyes seeing the book in Robbie's arms.
"Looks that doesn't matter!" Robbie said in a panic. "Those things are coming closer!"
"What did you do!?" Tambry shouts, grabbing his shirt and shaking him.
But then a wave of zombies pushed through the treeline of the forest, getting everyone's attention. As more zombies appeared others more stranger looking zombies appeared. Some had their arms rotted away and replaced with long single claws, growling even if their bottom jaw was gone. Some had their arms and sides replaced with leathery wings. Some were crawling on all fours, larger wide mouths that replaced most of their face and a long whip like tongue thrashing around. Once they came into the clearing the zombies' focus was on the group and and rushed towards them. Some were slower like typical zombies while the more mutated ones were faster and outpaced their counterparts. The ones that flew were blasted by spells out of the sky, either burning or frozen and crashed I to the horde below. Dipper and Mabel both focus their magic and sent a wave of ice, covering a few rows of zombies into solid statues. They were pushed aside as more came forward but met more spells.
The devils kept their weapons at the ready as they figure they would be force to face the zombies at close range, even with some being blasts by other spells or shot in the head from Yuzu's magic arrows. This didn't seem to even slow the horde down, expect for a few gathered around the dead ones and started to rip them apart, eating them. This confused the group that was waiting until they noticed the zombies eating seem to mutate and got bigger, some growing massive bulky arms and hopped towards them with the arms raised to slam them down. It was intercepted by Ranma, who was master at arial combat and manage to know only knock it off course but send it back into the horde. "Since when did zombies do that?" he shouts as he landed next to Shampoo who used her war maces to smack zombies so hard they broke into pieces.
"No idea," Dipper confesses as he started to sweat from the danger as the constant spells were starting to worry about his magical reserves. "I don't even know how this happened."
Tambry, who didn't know any spells yet so she was near the back, stared at Robbie who was cowering behind them. "Care to explain Robbie? You came running with that journal which you stole."
"I don't know!" Robbie cries out in panic. "Some guys paid me to give them the book, after we met at that rumored dumping ground for the factories the Northwest own-"
"You went where!?" Pacifica shouts, grabbing Robbie and shaking him. "Why would you go there? If even half the rumors of my dad's practices are true then there might be who the hell knows what buried at that site!"
Normally she would never admit this to anyone, but with her time with the twins, the other members of the peerage she was more relax about her family's 'perfect image' as she had something she felt was better. "I didn't pick it!" Robbie said as he tried to pull himself free. "I gave them the book, and one of the idiots said some stupid words, and then these things broke out of the ground!"
With the others covering the assault, Dipper headed to the back and took the journal that Robbie dropped. Quickly he found the section about zombies, "This spell is a mass summoning for zombies. Since they appeared in a contaminated area they must have mutated with the spell."
"And since they are mutated then any dead ones are just fueling the others and forcing them to mutate more," Nabiki guessed near the back. She might know a few spells but she was more a strategist and working on a more coordinated plan rather then simply casting all their spells into the horde. Not to mention she rather have her father and elder sister in a more secured location with perhaps Stans as backup since she didn't know if their skills would help against this horde. "Does the author point out a weakness for these things?"
"Why?" Lilo asked as Stitch stood in front of her while blasting away with his alien pistols. "We seem to be killing them easily enough."
"Because they keep mutating," Kim advised having landed next to her after she used her boosted speed for hit and run tactics to try and lower their numbers. "If we had a proper weakness to wipe most if not all out in a simple manner or in one goal then we will not have to worry as much."
"There's nothing about a weakness!" Dipper said in frustration as he looked over the section again.
"Then what good is it!?" Robbie asked, getting glares from all around.
Wendy takes a deep breath before she turns and punches Robbie right in the face, knocking him out. She turned back, her hand tightening on her axe as the horde barely seemed to be cut down even with the others fighting with spells or using fighting styles/weapons like Kim, Ron, Ramna, Shampoo and Akane. "We need a plan," she admits, taking a swing at one zombie and beheading it before kicking another away.
"We can't stay in a small group," Nabiki said. "we'll only get overrun. And just staying in the air won't matter if other zombies can fly and leave our families defenseless."
"Anyone that can't use spells or can't fight needs to get inside," Dipper said to everyone. "Get Robbie and our family members inside the shack and block other entrances." He then started flipping through the journal "I'm gonna see if I can find something that might help in here."
"I'll look!" Tambry interrupts surprising everyone and even more when she took the journal out of his hands. Before he could speak she cut him off again, "look I will look trough the journal and see if I can find something. Out of the two of us you can fight so rather and leave use with less power, help outside while I can be useful for once and maybe find something."
"You aren't useless!" both Dipper and Wendy call out.
Tambry rolls her eyes though she will admit she felt good at how fast they objected to her implied comment. "Please just trust me okay?"
Dipper took a glance at the horde and the other peerage fighting before he sighed. He turned back and place his hands on her shoulders "okay I trust you. Good luck Tambry."
She smirked "I won't let you down."
"Okay people, let's move!" Nabiki ordered, using her wings to get above them. She has to use a electric spell to stop one zombie trying to grab her with his stretching tongue. "spread out and watch each others back. Non devils and those that can't fight head inside the shack."
She flew down and landed next to her father and Stan, the father son duo surprisingly able to keep any zombies away from them and Kusami. "Head inside and look after everyone."
"Not without you kids," Stan denied to which Soun nodded.
Nabiki gave them blank looks, "we got this handled but I don't want to keep having to worry about the others. So get inside and watch each others backs." She then flew off before they could argue.
The older men watched them go and they sighed, "they grow us so fast," Soun said with tears in his eyes.
"Yeah," Stan added, feeling proud. He then sighed, "Look let's get the others. They are counting on us."
"Right you are," Soun agreed and lead his eldest towards the Mystery Shack.
Kim and Ron was getting into their usual flow as they moved from zombie to zombie, landing hard hits with Kim using her flaming kicks and Ron using Monkey Style and adding some of his inner energy to each hit that either broke the normal looking zombies into pieces or did a lot of damage to the more mutated ones. Ever since he joined Mabel, Ron had gotten better at focusing his power and gotten better at fighting so he wasn't purely distraction. He still hadn't been able to tap into the Mystical Monkey Power (he was still waiting for his king to find a better name so he can mentally be more comfortable with it) nor was he able to match Kim's or Shego's level of skill, but he can now handle henchmen better. As he blocked the bite of a mutated zombie with the blade arms, Ron then noticed Soos peeking out from his cover. Ron panicked, "Soos! Dude get inside! I don't want my bud getting hurt."
Soos noticed Ron and stood up, "No worries dude. With everyone with powers fighting like its an anime, I don't have worry about a thing."
The handy man gave a thumbs up but didn't notice the danger behind him. "Soos!" Ron cried as a normal zombie bite Soos's shoulder. Soos changed with his skin becoming a dull grayish green and his eyes rolled up and began to glow. "…Soos?" Ron asked, tears forming in his eyes.
Then Soos turned his attention to Ron and spoke to him as if he wasn't a zombie. "You know what dude, let's flip the script. Can I eat your brains, yay or nay? I'm seeing some yay faces."
Soos walked towards Ron with his arms raised and a few Norma zombies behind him. Ron however took to the sky as he couldn't ring himself to harm his friend. Even if he did he risked Soos getting more injured or have him also eaten by the other zombies as any fallen zombie ended up being used to fuel and mutate the horde. He flew down behind the group as he didn't even want to attack any of the zombies around Soos for fear of him acting like the rest and mutate from eating the remains of dead zombies. But the horde turned and followed him with Soos gaining ground. "Don't fight it dude," Soos called out. "We can be awesome together. I think we can get these guys to pull the Thriller dance."
Ron only cried as he jumped away, kicking one of the light globes that was still lite for the party. One zombies groaned with its mouth wide open and the globe was force inside from the kick and it swallowed on instinct. The effect had the light shining through the rotting skin. Ron would admit the way the light was shining with the zombies was cool and if he wasn't distressed right now he would have said it aloud. "Give it up dude!" Soos told him. "All your fighting is just making us rad."
Suddenly the group of zombies were covered in ice, completely incasing them. Well all expect for Soos who was frozen with his head expose. The zombifed handyman seemed surprised by this as Dipper and Mabel shattered the other frozen zombies. The twins then looked at their friend in horror, as zombie Soos laughed, "wow you got me good dudes."
Mabel tearing up and pulled Ron into a hug seeing as Soos was both their friends. Dipper grits his teeth and made a wall of ice around Soos to keep the other zombies from getting any ideas. "We'll help him," Dipper promised them. "I recall reading some about about a cure for reversing normal people just bitten and infected by a zombie."
Ron and Mabel nodded, breaking apart and looking determined. With one last look at Soos they took to the sky to face the horde once more. Dipper started to follow as he called out, "hang tight Soos, we'll get you out soon."
"Take your time dude!" Soos said not even concerned about being trapped. "The cold doesn't bother me anyway." He paused before he chuckled, "huh that sounds like a good line for a song."
Ranma unleashed a blur of punches that broke normal zombies into pieces before he focused on a ki blast that sent several of the mutated one flying. Jumping back to get more room he focused again to make sure he wasn't ambushed. True Akane and Shampoo were near him and can easily handle any zombie that tried to sneak around them but wit this horde in large numbers he wanted to be careful. He was annoyed at the numbers barely seem to drop as any dead zombies seem to fuel others but overall size of the horde didn't drop or it wasn't a noticeable drop. They had moment where a large number were taken out from attacks by Bloom and Kim or by the Pine twins. He wished he could use his biggest attack but none of these zombies had any feelings or killing intent to work. He supposed that being undead gave off no heat for him to use. He then growled seeing a few of the flying mutants dive bombs towards them. Ranma flew to meet them with Akane and Shampoo following behind. All three devils lashed out with their attacks, each other striking a mutant and basically beheaded them. Then a screech was heard as another mutant zombies flew up, this one several times larger then the other flying mutants and lashed out with its whip tongue to try and snag them. The three devils rushed the mutant, avoiding the tongue before all three landed a strong ki enforced to the head. The blow was so forceful that the head exploded into a gory mess and it started to fall.
But it turned out the zombies had a different plan for as when the mutant body was falling, several zombies that were clinging to the body jumped off, rolling into balls and crashed through the windows of the Mystery Shack's gift shop…right where some of their family members were hiding. Ranma and Akane pancaked seeing that this, Shampoo motioned towards the shack, "Go and help them! Shampoo got this!"
Ranma paused and took a brief glance at the rook before he followed Akane as the raced towards the shack. Nabiki had also noticed the break in the lines and also rushed to meet them. Ranma didn't brother trying to door, which he was sure was blocked anyways, and dove through the window and ready to attack any zombie he sees. But he paused, staring as the sisters followed his lead and also stared.
Most of the zombies were on the floor in pieces, but the one fighting them wasn't Stan or Soun but Kasumi. She held a leather whip in her hand as she cracked it so the end wrapped around one zombie by the neck and with a flick of her wrist it was sent flying where crashed into another zombie. Another flick of the wrist and the whip snapped and beheaded the zombie, still holding the head as was tossed and knocked another zombie off balance. Kasumi then jumped and spun in the air, the whip following her movements before she lands with the whip catching a large bust of Stan that he recently had made for the shop and swung it toward the last remaining zombie. The zombie groaned as the bust shattered as it ripped the zombie in half. Once everything was done, everyone stared at the eldest Tendo who was taking some deep breaths. She then noticed they were there and blushed slightly. Akane was the first to speak up. "Since when could you do this sis?"
Kasumi giggled nervously, "sorry I'm a bit out of practice and more use to a ribbon but I think I did alright. I use to be part of the gymnastics team at our school when I attended and was pretty good during matches. I even recall a girl I think Akane's age that seemed to look up to me when I preformed."
Ranma said nothing as he stared, a feeling creeping up from the base of his spine. Nabiki narrowed her eyes and asked, "were you given a nickname at the school? Something to do with roses?"
Kasumi blinked at the odd question in her opinion. "Actually they did. I believe they called me the Blue Rose. Such a cute silly name really."
Her sisters sighed, finding it hard to believe as Ranma was now having PTSD flashbacks.
"Are we winning?" Mabel asked aloud as she froze another group of mutant zombies that tried to fly pass them and they shattered when they hit the ground. "I can't tell."
"I think we are," Kim told her king. "The horde is definitely lost a lot of mass and most of the normal zombies are in pieces, eaten or have mutated. And those numbers are dropping."
"And then we have Soos," Ron said, still upset about his friend's predicament but was determined to help Dipper in curing him.
"We'll help him Ron" Dipper assured him. "We just need…"
But he stopped then they heard a loud thud, followed by another. They looked a round to see the zombies were stopping, some unsteady from the ground shaking as something came out of the woods. One fallen zombie groaned before a massive foot crushed it as a figure walked into the battle zone.
It was a large hulking figure that would make the Manotaurs seem small by comparison with broad shoulders and stretch bulging muscles on its arms and chest. Layes of skin and muscles could be seen as of it was combining several men together. The head was balding and looked as if someone removed the skin and covered it back incorrectly with only a single eye can be seen, stitched scarring running the top of the head and the mouth completely uncovered showing the full human like teeth. This new zombie towered over everyone, breathing heavily and seemed to ignore the dead zombies, even the few barely alive ones as it was crushed under its footsteps.
"Dipper…what is that?" Mabel questioned looking startled.
"No idea," he admits, as he prepared another spell "but we got to take it down."
The hulking zombie growled before it stomped towards them. Bloom and Kim were the first into action as Bloom sent a swirling ball of fire that exploded on the mutant's chest while Kim landed a burning kick to its face. But much to their surprise it didn't even flinch from the impact, even Kim's as it eyes focused on her. She pushed away before it could grab her but even as she got out of range the force from the giant's moving arm nearly knocked her unsteady. The mutant growled and kept its march, ignoring a magical arrow that Yuzu shot which shattered as it struck its head. Laser fire from Stitch's weapons splashed over the skin and didn't cause it to even turn its attention to where he was sniping from the twins' bedroom, not even when one bolt struck the open eye. Karin had her sword out and sliced at the legs to slow it down, Wendy appearing and doing the same at the other, but to their shock when their blades made contact they sparked and stop as if hitting a solid wall instead of a target. "What the Hell!?" Karin shouts as she made a few more slashes but were as ineffective as the first one. "What is this freak made of?"
"Just! Stop! Already!" Wendy shouts with each blow of her axe but she just was shocked when she noticed her axe crack slightly at the edge.
"Karin! Wendy! Move!" Dipper shouts to his knights.
He stood with Mabel next to him, both working on a large magic circle to combine a spell together. When the knights were out of the way, the twins unleashed their spell, causing a tidal wave of ice to crash into the zombie and part of the forest behind it. The giant's shadow could be seen in the middle of the frozen glacier, finally to seemingly have been stopped. Both twins were panting as they put a lot of magical power into that attack. "Is it over?" Akane asked, flying over as the rest of the group noticed from the shack.
"…maybe," Dipper said before he stiffens as he heard something. Everyone else did as they could hear it too. Cracking.
They all gapped as cracks were forming all over the glacier. Then with a thundering roar, the giant broke out, spreading its arms as it did so. He roared again as it slammed is arms into the frozen section that holds it legs and shattered it as well. The devils struggled to figure out what they could possibly do and how to stop this monster, to stop this…Nemesis.
While the rest of the peerage was first fighting outside, the rest were inside the upper floors. Lilo peeked out the window while Stitch took a position leaning out of it and sniping any zombies he felt were getting too close. "It looks like we're winning," she told the others. "We might not need to find any weaknesses."
"Lucky us," Tambry muttered as she flipped through the journal, checking her phones for info about codes and other tells for hidden messages.
"Isn't it a good thing that we might not have to worry?" Pacifica asked her. "If they don't need us finding something that's means they are able are going to be safe…right?"
"There is still a risk when fighting these things," Tambry said as she looked at the pages it had on zombies...again. "Ugh whoever made this has an ego. And what the fuck is this shit about zombie able to be mistaken with teenagers? Does this guy not know what a teenager actually is?" she sighed, "I know you don't want to be standing here doing nothing. I hate that I am pretty much useless too but I want to make sure everyone stays safe."
"And you have a right to worry," Jumba said as he studies the zombies from a distance, seeing how they ate fallen members and changing. "These…what were they called zum-beyes?"
"Eh, Zombies," Stitch corrected as he shot another flying mutant down with a headshot.
Jumba nodded, "yes that. They are evolving at a pace that is so unnatural."
"Okay," Grenda asked, looking at Candy in confusion, "meaning?"
"Evolution is how a species change overtime to overcome challenges to their environment," Jumba explained. "Adaptations or random mutations that give a species an edge is more likely to pass down for many generations. But these creatures…they are changing too rapidly. I fear they will reach a point of singularity when they can overcome anything. Even our devil friends."
"How long will it take?" Candy asked, believing the scientist is right and that worried her.
Jumba hummed as he did some quick rapid math, "by my calculations…they should already be reaching it or will be soon."
Then they all felt the shack shake. Not just the shack but the grounds as well as they all steady themselves. They all shared a look before dashing to the window. They stared as the giant zombies stomped out into the ground. "…looks like I was right," Jumba couldn't help but say aloud.
"I think you may have jinxed us." Tambry said as she and the others ran off as the Nemesis came sprawling in through the side of the Shack tearing through one of the walls with the twins being thrown down.
"Everything hurts." Dipper grunted as he was glad no one was eaten, as it means that they could recover and not turn into zombies but the sheer strength of the monster was not to be underestimated.
"Dipper!" Pacifica cries as she helps the devil up.
Dipper managed to steady himself but a quick look outside they could see the other members of the peerages were flying around trying to find a weakness as they fired spells or landed strong blows but once more nothing was phasing the Nemesis. The only good news was the Nemesis' focus seemed to shift to each person attacking it though not blindly as it would swing at someone getting close even when it looked like it was not paying attention. The bad news however more zombies of the horde were appearing, both normal and mutated zombies. Dipper sees this and pushes himself out of Pacifica's grip and heads for the hole in the wall. "Dipper no!" Tambry cried out as she tried to stop him.
"I can't," Dipper told them. "I can't stand by and do nothing while my family and friends are in danger."
"But-!" Tambry tried once more but her king flew off. She could only stare out the hole as he started to cast different ice spells along the arms of the swinging Nemesis while Wendy was forced to avoid one attack from it. Unable to take it anymore Tambry lets out a scream in frustration, causing the other others to jump. She rushed to the Journal and tried once more to find an answer "Damn it you stupid thing! Why does this author have to be so unhelpful!? Why can't I find anything!? Why…why am I so fucking useless!?"
Everyone stared, not sure what they could say, not sure if she would even believe them if they did. Tambry's hands were clenching against the sides of the Jornal, fearing if she held any tighter it would rip. Her head was swimming, so confused and unsure. And then…
[Analyzing…]
Tambry's head shot up, confused as she heard a soft female voice suddenly. "Who…who just said that?"
Again everyone stared but this time in confusion. "No one said anything," Candy explained to her.
"Then who?' Tambry started when she heard the voice again.
[Contract required. Do you wish to unlock Necronomicon?]
Tambry was even more confused, not sure what she was hearing and the fact it seemed only she was hearing it. But after a moment that whatever this was, it was better than doing nothing. "…Yes."
For a second nothing happened until a light shone from the center of Tambry's chest. Tambry looked stunned as did the others before something flew out of the light and took a new form. It was the size of a toy and looked like a common idea of a flying saucer. It had a tiny gargoyle on the top and glowing green rune-like symbols over the top of the saucer as it flew around. Tambry stared, feeling a slight form of comfort for some reason. "What is…?" She tried to ask but stopped when she heard the voice again, now coming from the UFO.
[Contract…I am thou, thou art I]
[The Forbidden wisdom has been revealed]
[No mysteries…no illusions shall deceive you any longer]
"Why am I hearing R2-D2?" Grenda asked around, as she and the others heard nothing but beeps and whistles.
Jumba, who was fiddling with his device as soon as the UFO appeared, answered for them. "Oh, that is binary. unfortunately, I am rusty without a computer so I can't understand it."
The ship seemed to turn in Jumba's direction and gave a short series of beeps that only Tambry understood. Jumba pauses his calculations of his device and gains a deadpan look. "Expect for that, how rude." He then lifted his device and did a quick scan. "I see, whatever this device is it isn't technology-based nor organic. I can't tell what it is."
"Wait," Candy suddenly said as she peered closer and adjusted her glasses, "I think this might be one of those scared gears that Mabel and Dipper were telling us about. But what does it do?"
Tambry gained a determined look and grabbed the journal which she had dropped when her possible sacred gear revealed itself. "I can understand it, it talked about forbidden wisdom being revealed and no illusions will deceive me." She opened the book and she noticed in her vision several holographic screens all with different writings of scans, information, and settings. "Let's find out what you are hiding."
She noticed that her vision was scanning before a display appeared and said 'invisible messages detected. Ultraviolet vision mode engaged'.
Tambry noticed one tiny screen appearing in the corner of her eyes with an on/off to change the mode as her visions changed. The room looked darker but on the pages of the Journal, new messages were visible to her. "I can see it!" She cried out, seeing the message before reading aloud. "I have decided to use invisible ink to keep away prying eyes. Anyone could be watching me." She laughed in victory "There are hidden messages in invisible ink!"
"Invisible ink?" Candy echoed as she took a nearby black light used for adding decoration to posters for the party. She turned it on and saw what Tambry was seeing. "It's true."
Tambry grinned as she flipped back to the section about Zombies and laughed when she read the message previously hidden. "Zombies have a weakness! Previously thought to be invincible, their skulls can be shattered by a perfect three-part harmony. This is it! This is how we can possibly beat that thing and all the zombies."
"A perfect three-part harmony?" Pacifica asked. "I think we can manage that with just us."
"But who is our best option?" Lilo asked, looking at the girl.
"Not me," Grenda muttered. "My voice sounds like a drunk druid when I sing."
Tambry glanced at her sacred gear as it floated above her. "I don't suppose you can tell who would be the best chance of killing all the zombies?"
It was mostly a joke, feeling better now that she was able to help the others and stop this nightmare. What she didn't expect was her gear to speak up.
[Calculating…most probable outcome is with these users]
The gear shined three mini lights like a laser pointer shined from the top of the gear and landed on three people. Pacifica and Candy noticed that the laser was on them but the third surprised everyone. Tambry looked around, confused at only seeing two until she looked down and saw the final laser pointing at her. Eyes wide and was fast to deny it. "No! No! Definitely not! I can't sing!"
"I think your sacred gear is saying that you can," Candy objected, adjusting her glasses as a plan seemed to finally be formed.
"How will we be able to get a song loud enough to destroy all the zombies? How will we even keep to the same musical rhythm?"
"Ahem," Lilo said aloud getting everyone's attention. She then dragged out a karaoke machine she carried inside on Mabel's orders.
Tambry could only groan as she knew the only other choice was this or let her crush and friends die, "the song better not be something stupid at least."
'When Dipper finally asks Wendy out and we can start dating him, both of them better make it up to me big time in bed for making me do this!'
Outside things weren't looking good. None of the devils were even leaving a mark on the Nemesis and the more they fought the more they were being drained magically. Still, none were willing to give up, flying around and trying to keep its attention off from the shack as it had no defenses. It didn't help that more of the horde had appeared and taking on the Nemesis on top wasn't making things easier. "Fuck…this…thing!" Wendy pants as she is forced to fly back and avoid another attack from Nemesis.
"We can't give up," Dipper said, making a small ice wall to block some of the smaller horde, stalling for some sort of plan as he knew it wouldn't even slow the Nemesis down.
Mbale then noticed something on the roof of the Mystery Shack. At first, she was concerned that it was zombies that managed to sneak pass but then saw it was several members of their peerage. "What are they doing out here?"
Dipper turned and noticed as well, even more surprised seeing what they were setting up. "Why are they setting up your karaoke machine to a speaker?"
Before they could answer, they were forced to dodge another swing from the Nemesis. Up at the roof, the others were setting the machines needed to increase maximum volume, even if one was still regretting their life choices it seems. "I still say that someone else should replace me."
Pacifica rolled her eyes at Tambry, your own gear seems to think you are the best shot and we can't do it alone."
"We can do this," Candy said as Grenda and Lilo gave a thumbs up showing the system was ready to go. "Now let's go and sing for our man!"
"Don't make this worse," Tambry begged as the song began and rock-like music started to play.
The music got the attention of the horde, causing them to pause and look up at them. Even the Nemesis turned its only uncovered eye towards them. Pacifica was the first to get started, seeing this as their chance now that the zombies were stalled.
Come at me
And you'll see
I'm more then meets the eye
You think that
You'll break me
You're gonna find in time
Candy joined into the song, the two girls in sync, and started to sing faster.
That you're standing too close to a flame that's burning
Hotter than the sun in the middle of July
As the horde now started to rush towards them, they noticed that Tambry had yet to sing. Pacifica and Candy looked worried but dear not stop the song for fear of missing and making things worse. Grenda and Lilo called out to her, to try but the girl shook as she watched the horde and everyone else.
Sending out your army but you still can't win
Listen up silly boy 'cause I'm gonna tell you why!
Tambry then noticed Dipper and Wendy watching them, their eyes meeting. Realizing it was now or never, Tambry took a deep breath and sang with the other girls at the next line.
I burn!
The effect was instant as when all three were singing together, a pulse from the sound wave rocked from the speakers and spread throughout the entire clearing. The zombies flinched from the pulse, some getting knocked down and even the mutants were not unharmed as the flying staggered and others flinched and paused their charge. But most importantly even the Nemesis flinched from the wave.
Seeing this the singing girls all grinned and kept going, the more they sang more shockwaves were sent out.
Can't hold me now
You got nothing
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I'll take you down!
Dipper could only watch in amazement as zombies were hiding their heads, skulls and seemed to try and plug their ears before their skulls started to explode in gory fashion. The Nemesis staggered and held its head, glowing like a wounded angry animal. The girls saw that they were doing it, they were actually doing it. But they didn't stop as they kept the song going, Pacifica taking the lead once more.
Reign supreme?
In your dreams
You'll never make me bow
Kick my ass?
I'm world class
And Super Saiyan now
"I don't believe it," Dipper said in awe as more zombies' heads exploded. "They are stopping them."
"Woooo!" Mabel cheered. "Go girls! You rock!"
Wendy couldn't help but chuckle as she saw Tambry going along. "Nice work girl."
You're starting up a fight you just can't finish
Watch the little hearts while they scrape you off the floor
Bringing out your rockets? Well shoot 'me up baby
High as you can go, but I'm the one that's gonna soar!
I burn!
Another big shockwave crashed through the horde, zombies exploding in great numbers, even the mutant ones, those that could fly tried to rush the trio but were knocked out of the sky by the pulses and died like the others.
Can't hold me now
You got nothing
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I'll take you down!
Some zombies were slamming their heads into the ground or hard objects, some tried ripping their entire ears off but none of those saved them as their heads also exploded. A few mutant zombies tried to rush the trio but either were killed by the shockwaves or were easy pickings from Stitch acting as a guard or one of the other peerage members flying around. Even the Nemesis was crouching down, trying to cover its ears as he roared in more pain than fury as it had before. Suddenly it straightens up roars in fury and charges at the shack.
It doesn't have to be this way
Let's kiss and make up; then you'll learn
You can fight your life away
I get what I want so don't bother and just watch me burn
"We got to protect the others!" Dipper shouts as he flies down towards the ground with Mabel by his side. They both iced the ground to try and trip the Nemesis. As unsteady as it was now that it was taking damage, it stumbled but kept itself from falling. The others fly past the beast, landing hits not to do any damage but to keep it focused away from their friend so they can end this. The trio noticed the Nemesis was getting closer even with the others distracting it but kept going. Tambry Saw Dipper and Wendy fighting hard to protect them and took another deep breath before going into the next part rapidly.
Hotter than the sun
Feel my fire
Pyromaniac my desire
Thought that you can see the truth
'Tell I just burned down the booth
Human touch can't mess with me
Johnny Blaze, suspect B
Scorch them quick, lightning fast
Melt them bitches down to ash
Gasoline, kerosene
Strike a match ignite the scene
The Nemesis roared when Bloom and Kim landed two fury attacks, causing it to shake its head and try and shake them off. If it was because of the sonic damage it was taking or because the song was making it weaker it was clear they were keeping it back a bit easier now.
Things will never be the same
Feel the fury of my flame
Beg for mercy; it won't help
Embrace the ending you were dealt
Seems you chumps will never learn
Now sit back and watch me burn!
Tambry felt a rush of adrenaline as the Nemesis seemed to be forced back a step from her words. Pacifica and Candy stood next to her, all three grinning as they sang together. The Nemesis roared and started to stomp toward them, flinching with each pulse they made.
I burn!
Can't hold me down
You got nothing
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I'll take you down!
The Nemesis was right upon them. But with that last echo of the song, it flinched back and roared in pain before its head exploded, sending blood and flesh everywhere. The body swayed before it tipped over backward and collapsed to the ground. The last of the zombies were defeated.
"We did it!" Pacifica cheered, throwing her hands up while Candy jumped in place.
Tambry dropped the mic, catching her breath before she was forced to brace herself when Wendy all but crashed into her. Tambry manages to keep them from falling but returns the hug Wendy is giving her. "Tambry I can't believe that happened! You manage to kill that thing. And you sang in front of everyone, girl!"
"Yeah, well you owe me one," Tambry said before pulling closer and whispering into her ear, "when Dipper mans up and finally asks us out, I will be fucking both you and him for this."
She released Wendy and walked towards the others. Wendy stood frozen at the 'threat' but was internally debating if that was a bad thing or not. Tambry walked towards her king as the rest of the group that was fighting were taking turns hugging and conducting the others. "I can't believe you guys found a weakness" Dipper exclaimed excitedly, looking around at everyone. "How did you manage that?"
Grenda held up the journal and a black light. "Tambry discovered that the journal had stuff written in invisible ink."
Dipper looked in amazement as new writing was revealed under the black light. He turned to her, "Tambry, this is amazing. How did you find this?"
"And who is this little guy?" Mabel added, pointing to Tambry's sacred gear as it flew around her.
Tambry looked a bit proud of herself as she crossed her arms. "This little guy helped me out. We think it's my sacred gear. Meet Necronomicon."
Necronomicon gave a beep in greetings.
"Awww," Mabel cooed at the gear.
Dipper laughed and patted Tambry's back. "That's great, congratulations Tambry."
"Thanks," she said looking at Necronomicon. "It seems very informational base with it helping me find the answer to the journal and the weakness of the horde. I can help it more often."
"Uh guys," Ron said, waving at them and pointing to a spot that held a certain frozen someone. "I know we're celebrating a victory and all but we still need to help Soos."
"Right!" Dipper said as he flipped to a section. "There should be a cure we can make."
He flew down with the others, not only to help cure their friend but also to help with cleaning up the bodies of the zombies as they didn't want those just lying around.
It took about an hour to gather everything to cure Soos, Tambry helping with her gear to make the process faster but to clean enough of everything. Stan and Soun were all amazed by everything, having taken care of a few zombies that tried to sneak into the shack, but didn't realize how many there were nor did they expect the big body of the last zombie. But the bodies were gathered and burned to ashes, using a spell to keep the smell contained until the ashes were gone.
Soos was slowly returning to normal, taking more sips of the antidotes with Ron's and Kim's help. The only other person left besides the peerage and their families that were still there was Robbie, who was still knocked out through the whole experience. None were complaining as it made things easier but they left him laying in a chair outside with his memories changed to make him believe he passed out at the party instead of whatever he was doing before the zombies.
Everyone else was celebrating their victory by either sitting and relaxing, enjoying the remaining food and drinks that weren't destroyed in the panic or just sitting and listening to the others sing karaoke. Since it was the main reason they even won today, they felt a few more rounds were acceptable. Stan and Soun were sharing a hard drink, just relaxing now that their family was safe. Father and son shared a few stories between them and anyone who looked over would see them laughing. Mabel was on stage singing a song even though it was one they didn't know as they could understand what she was saying.
Tete Numquam Relinquam
Tete Numquam Deseram
Tibi Ero Desultor
Non Numquam!
Faciam Non Flere Te
Nec Dicam Valere
Mendax Vulnerabo
Non Numquam
"I thought devils could understand any language," Wendy wondered, not even understanding a word Mabel was saying.
The Necronomicon let out a series of beeps, causing Tambry to look at it in surprise before she said, "Apparently it's Latin."
"Latin?" Wendy echoed just as surprised. "Mabel can sing in Latin?"
"Only a few songs," Dipper told them, using the black light to see some of the new messages in the Journal that he missed. "And the only reason she even learned it in the first place is for pranks like this."
"A prank?" Wendy asked looking at Mabel as she sang and danced. "So what song is she singing?"
Dipper gained a deadpan look before he turned for them to come closer. They leaned forward and Dipper whispered into their ears. Wendy and Tambry went wide-eyed, straightening up before looking to Mabel and then to Dipper. "You're joking" Wendy accused.
"I wish I was," he muttered. He then looked at Tambry, "But seriously I do want to thank you Tambry. You were a big help today."
Tambry barely managed to hide a blush. "It was Necronomicon really." Her sacred gear gave a small beep which she smiled at.
"It's a part of you," he told her as he looked at a section with the black light revealing something, a hidden bunker. "But this means we still have a lot to uncover."
"If anyone can figure out it'll be you," Tambry assured him. "But we'll be there to help out."
"You can count on us dude" Wendy added, giving him a thumbs up.
Dipper smiled back, more excited than ever. He could only wonder what other secrets the author had hidden away.
