After searching for a few minutes, Miles found his way into the cafeteria, which was on fire. Miles coughed a little as he inhaled the smoke and forged ahead, hands up in front of his face to protect him from flying sparks, and ended up in front of a Variant with serious burns on his face.

"I had to burn it. All of it. Murkoff took so much from us. Used us. Turned us into these things because nobody cares about a few forgotten lunatics. So let it burn. Burn the whole goddamned thing down," the Variant explained, and bowed his head.

"Get out. If you want to live. You can get out through the kitchen," the Variant said, gesturing vaguely with his hand.

I'm not the only victim here, not by a long shot. I watch a man wait to burn to death—the most painful death imaginable—rather than stay in this place, Miles thought as he nodded, and quickly found a way out of the cafeteria.

"Okay, gotta turn on the sprinklers. Where would that be?" Miles wondered slowly, and he began his search.

After a few minutes, Miles found out that there was no water in the system, and he had to turn on the two valves so he could get the sprinklers working again. Miles rounded a corner, only to stop when a large shadow flashed across a far wall. Miles began to breathe shakily, immediately recognizing the shadow.

"Goddammit, Chris Walker. You never give up, do you?" Miles whispered under his breath, clenching his fists in frustration. He knew he had to stay calm and think of a way to outsmart Chris before things escalated further.

Miles quickly snuck around Chris, and squeezed through a gap, entering the baths, which were empty save for a Variant washing a dead body with bloody water. Miles saw a door on the other end, and walked toward it, hoping that there was a valve inside.

"Hushaby, you'll have your turn," the Variant cooed as Miles walked by. Miles entered the little room, grinning victoriously when he saw the valve, and turned it, activating it with a hiss.

"There we go. We clean your belly, clean your arms. Every little crevice until we find that key. I know one of you babies has it. There we go, shhh, shhh," the Variant said calmly, and Miles shuddered as he left the room.

Miles went back through the gap, and began searching for the second valve. Miles ended up rounding a corner too quickly, and ran right smack into Chris, and he screamed, stumbling backward and running away. Miles quickly squeezed through the gap, sighing with relief that he had escaped Chris. Eventually, Miles found the second valve, and activated it with a hiss. A minute later, he activated the sprinklers, making water rain down everywhere.

"Okay. Jesus Christ. Now I need to find Father Martin. Yay," Miles said sarcastically as he ran back through the cafeteria and into the kitchen.

Before he could take another step, the Variant, who had started the fire, lunged and tackled him. Miles screamed before shoving him off, panting hard, and the Variant ran out with an angry growl.

I've said it before, but fuck this place. I've still got those fingers left, Miles thought as he eyed a bowl of fingers before he exited the kitchen, went through a hallway, ended up in the place where he saw Father Martin, and turned around.

There, in all its glory, stood the exit, which showed a storm raging outside.

"Wait. Is that for real? Is that actually for real?" Miles asked incredulously. Miles stood there, staring at the exit, before running outside, getting soaked to the bone instantly.

"Great. Now I need to find Father Martin," Miles said, and he started searching.
