Miles hit the ground hard, let out a grunt, and stiffened when the Walrider zoomed past him. Once Miles was sure he was safe for the moment, he continued ahead.
"You know, if Father Martin could wait for, like, ten minutes or so, I wouldn't be in this mess," Miles muttered to himself as he climbed back up to the floor he fell through. Miles left the room, pausing when the Walrider rushed past a door, before coming to a door that was opened slightly.
Miles opened the door, let out a wheeze of terror, and shut the door.
"Why did I do that? Why did I do any of that?" Miles gasped as he searched for a place to hide. A place to hide from the Twins. Miles tucked himself into a corner doused in shadows, and tried not to breathe too loudly when one Twin stalked past. Where's the other one of you? Miles thought desperately as he slowly stood up and crept back to and through the door the Twins came out of.
Miles carefully and quietly went back to the room the Twins were in, and slowly made his way to a room filled with rotting boards. Miles jumped over a small gap, frowning when he heard a voice echoed through the room: "Only God need be so mysterious. Be patient and hold faith. Pater non est Filius. Filius non est Spiritus. And Spiritus non est Pater. Tota est Dues. He will see it, he will tell it. God must spread the Word." Miles shook his head and shimmied his way across a ledge to the other side of a huge gap, backed up as far as he could go, and took a running leap.
Miles grunted as he made it, wheezing slightly as he slammed his chest into the floorboards and lost his grip on his camcorder. The boards started breaking beneath him, and he scrabbled to get up to the floor. No, no, no, no, no, NO! Miles thought desperately as his camcorder rolled across the crumbling floor, and through a crack in the floor below, his hand extended as if he were trying to summon his camcorder back to him.
Miles saw a door swing open, and he quickly heaved himself up to safety and despondantly looked at the crack where his camcorder disappeared into.
"I'm going to have to go and get that, aren't I? Well, that's just great," Miles muttered sarcastically and walked into the hallway behind him, which was encased in total darkness, making his heart stutter with fear.
After wandering around for a few moments, Miles found himself in a bathroom with a large hole in the floor.
"Please, for the love of God, let my camcorder be down here," Miles begged quietly and jumped into the hole. Miles scurried down the halls and let out a yell when one of the patients jumped out at him with a strangled wail. Miles threw the patient off him, who then bowled him over. Miles grunted when he stood up and brushed himself off.
Miles stepped into a large room, looking around, before seeing his camcorder. Miles hurried towards it, picked it up, internally sighing when he saw that the screen was cracked, held it up to his eye, and looked around and screamed when he noticed that a couple of patients stood near him. Miles immediately took off like a bat out of hell and went back the way he came.
"Great. Now I need to find Father Martin," Miles muttered as he walked through the halls, only to stop in a doorway when the floor in front of him crumbled. Miles went forward slowly and cautiously, dropped down, and stared at the Variant standing in the corner, who met his gaze evenly.
"Only one way out. Only one way," the Variant said as Miles eyed him warily.
"All right. By being nailed on the cross, I think is what you mean," Miles muttered sarcastically as he walked through the door the patient was standing next to.
"How do you know you're not a patient?" The Variant asked. and Miles turned around to look at him.
"Shut! Up! I'm not…a patient," Miles said as the patient shut the door and walked off. Rolling his eyes, Miles shook his head and forged ahead.
Miles squeezed through a gap and walked slowly down the hallway before seeing Chris Walker bash his way into a room.
"I need to hide," Miles said just as Chris walked out of the room he was in, and started chasing him the second his eyes landed on Miles. Miles yelled and ran, leading him in a circle, before barging into a room with an open vent, which Miles immediately climbed into, successfully escaping.
Miles crawled through the vents, shoved a dead body out of the way, and jumped to the floor. Looking around, Miles noted that he was back in the Administration Block. Miles walked through the door and nearly jumped out of his skin when a voice spoke next to him.
