The group had a lot on their mind as they went to bed that night in their homes.
It certainly was a lot for them to take in. Especially, with Kristin and everything Galen had just told her. She just hopes that the rcord book gets to the council and they make the right decision about Urko.
Everything Galen told her pointed to Urko as being what she always knew he was from the start, a killer.
The hardest part was digesting the fact that he massacred a whole village several years back. Galen spared her the details, not wanting to go into them, knowing it could really upset her.
All he told her that there was a village, and that Urko and his troops didn't leave any alive.
He told her how Yalu had obtained the record book from Barlow with his permission and that the prefect even wrote down names of other prefects that have records on the gorilla chief too and that Yalu was going to get those records from them as well.
If all goes well, Urko could be stripped of his title, and either thrown in jail for the rest of his life or executed.
Though if he is guilty, the extensive crimes would lean more towards death then imprisonment. Which most would believe he deserved and was justified with all the innocent blood on his hands.
Kristin had a hard time falling asleep at first. Until Galen pulled her in close and she rested against his front. He softly assured her that everything will be alright for them.
Eventually, she fell asleep.
Lily fell asleep earlier and they had her in the bassinet close to Kristin's side of the bed. The small family slept soundly through the night after that.
They woke up bright and early the next day to a warm and sunny morning, feeling well rested. Galen awoken to her moving slightly against him and knew she was awake.
"Good morning." He said, as he pulled back slightly.
Amusement danced around in his eyes as he stared down at her messy hair. Some of it looked like it was stuck to one side of her cheek as she looked up at him.
"You look like you just woke up from...what did you call it? A hangover." He teased.
Kristin rolled her eyes, "Have you looked in a mirror lately? You don't look much better."
"I doubt that. I'm handsome all the time." He joked.
She snorted, "Right, and I secretly found the fountain of youth and was not sharing it with anyone."
"I wouldn't put it past you, Darling." Galen continued teasing her.
"Haha. You going to let me up or what?" Kristin quipped.
He smirked at her, "I could, but it'll cost you."
"I hope it's not giving you a compliment. Because my brain's not fully awake and I'm fresh out of them this morning." She told him.
Galen pretended to think about it.
"Hmm, nope something much better than that." He said.
Kristin arched a brow, giving him a look.
His smirk just widened, then he leaned in and captured her lips in a kiss. He felt her slowly smile into the kiss as she returned it. The kiss was slow and sensual, lasting several seconds before they pulled back.
"I'm guessing that'll do then?" She teased.
"For now, until the next one." He teased back.
Then he lifted his arm from around her and let her sit up.
He watched as she lifted her arms and stretched. Her maternity shirt was askew, so he can see one of her breasts half sticking out of the front of the shirt.
Kristin's gaze lazily shifted to her right to where Galen was still laying, now leaning up on his elbow. She noted the grin on his face as she followed his gaze to her partially exposed chest.
She smirked and stretched her arms out to the side while puffing out her chest, making the front of the shirt pull away more, and exposing more of her bare torso.
He arched an eye ridge as his gaze went from her chest to her smirking face.
"You really are a little vixen, aren't you?" Galen pointed out.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." She replied.
Not long after though, she purposely dropped one of her shoulders, letting the shirt slide down her shoulder and part of her upper arm. This put her right her breast on full display for him.
Her smirk widened, when she noted the look, he was giving her. His eyes darkened a little with lust. Then he slowly sat up and moved in closer to her.
"You really insist on teasing me and driving me crazy, don't you?" He purred.
"Oh, so, it's working then?" Kristin joked.
His answer was to lean in and press his lips to hers again.
She leaned into the kiss and probed his lips with her tongue. He parted them and let her tongue slip in, to caress his. At the same time, one of his hands came up and he started to lightly run the pads of his fingers over a nipple.
Kristin let out a small gasp as he did this. Then let out a tiny moan when he lightly pinched the sensitive bud until it hardened beneath his fingertips.
"Be careful how far you push me, I can always tease you right back." He said, in a husky tone, after he pulled away from the kiss, leaving them a little breathless.
"Perhaps, but who said, that's a bad thing?" She said, between breaths.
A grin appeared on his face, then he pressed his mouth to the side of her neck and started trailing light kisses down it, making her gasp and shudder.
He then shifted his hand to her other breast and started teasing that nipple until he felt it pebble beneath his fingers.
Kristin feels herself getting a little wet. She really wished she was healed up enough to make love to him. But they say, after having a baby, it's always good to wait a few weeks to make sure you're fully healed down there.
Still, two can play at this game.
She slowly reached over and down with her right hand and placed it over his clothed crotch. Kristin then started to stroke him through his pants.
Galen let out a grunt, as he felt her run her hand over his length through his pants. He pulled back from kissing her neck and shoulder. Then pressed his lips back to hers.
The kiss started to become heated, and both of them were getting rather worked up. He was starting to become hard from her teasing him. But he still knew they couldn't go any further because it was still too soon for her after giving birth.
He reluctantly pushed her hand away from his half-staffed erection.
"Think...we should stop. Because now, it's just starting to feel like torture rather than teasing." He said, a little out of breath.
"I'm starting to agree." She replied.
Kristin placed one more small kiss on his lips, before slightly pulling away and adjusting her shirt.
Her gaze then trailed down to Galen's lower half. She noted the slight tent he was pitching beneath his pants.
"You know what will help with that? A cold shower, or in this case, a cold bath." She said.
Galen rolled his eyes, "Figures. You did this just to give a reason for me to take another bath again, didn't you?"
"Nope, it was great while it lasted. That was just a suggestion." Kristin replied.
"Thank you, but I don't need another bath at this time. It'll go down all on its own." He assured her.
"If you say so." She said, with a small, lopsided grin.
Galen leaned in close to her ear.
"Careful, or next time, I'll stroke something on you, that I know you like being stroked." He whispered.
As he was saying this, he brought his hand to her crotch, and pressed a finger to her clit through her panties and started rubbing it.
Kristin took in a sharp intake of breath when he did this. Her hips twitched as he stroked the sensitive bundle of nerves through her underwear.
It gave it a few strokes, until he heard her starting to pant. Then he stopped and pulled his hand away.
Her half-lidded eyes opened, and she shifted her gaze to his face. Only to see him sporting a grin.
"Now I think, you might be the one who needs a cold bath." He teased.
"You suck." She deadpanned.
Galen shrugged, "We can add that to our lovely activities when you're all healed up."
Her eyes widened a little and her cheeks turned pink.
"Galen!?" She squeaked.
The chimp started to laugh a little at her reaction.
Kristin rolled her eyes, but still smiled in the end. Funny, how he never ceases to stop surprising her or catching her off guard. Then she thought of a good way to get him back.
"You know what, I think I will go and take another bath. Because, unlike you, I actually like them." She stated.
Then she stood up from the bed and started to strip right there.
First, she pulled off her ankle socks and dropped them to the floor. Then grabbed the edges of her shirt and started sliding it up and over her head. Then she let it drop to the floor as well.
Galen just sat there, eying her.
Kristin then grabbed the edges of her undies and started to pull them down her legs, then pulled them off. She turned fully to Galen, standing before him completely nude.
She saw his gaze slowly rove over her body.
Then she lifted her hands, placed a finger between one of the leg holes of her undies, pulled the rest of them back with her other hand, and flung them right at Galen.
He let out a tiny, surprised sound as she nailed him right in the face with them.
This made her let out a small laugh, and she watched as he peeled them off his muzzle and give her a look. The smile still never left her face though. She slowly rounded the bed to his side and stood before him.
Then she leaned in, grasped his cheeks and planted a smooth, yet deep kiss on his lips. She also rubbed her upper half against his during the kiss.
Galen reached up and grasped her shoulders as the kiss became more heated. Their tongues battled for dominance during the kiss. It lasted for several seconds, before they pulled away for air.
His pupils were blown wide with lust.
He leaned in again to kiss her again. But she pulled back with a teasing smirk.
"Nope, that's all you get for now. I'm going to take my bath now." She told him.
Then she backed up a little, before turning and started to head for the bedroom door.
She opened it, then looked over her shoulder, giving him one last saucy smirk, before she walked out and crossed the hall to the bathroom, leaving him behind, still a little breathless on the bed.
When she disappeared behind the bathroom door, he ran a hand over his face.
Galen felt some tightness in his crotch, he looked down to see he had an erection yet again from her little striptease, followed by her teasing kiss.
"Damn." He muttered to himself.
Then a chuckle left him. She had one up him yet again, the saucy little minx.
He sat there for a little longer, trying to relax and wait for it to go down. It eventually did. Afterwards, he stayed there thinking about what he had planned today for Kristin and Lily.
Galen wanted to take them to this little pond right on the outskirts of the village. He was going to pack some food for them and make a little lunch picnic for the three of them.
The pond had a lovely view to it, and he knew, she would love it.
That wasn't all though, he had something else planned as well. Something very important. Something that had him both excited and nervous about. Even though he knew it was something he really shouldn't be nervous about.
His train of thought was broken, when he heard a very faint cooing sound coming from the other side of the bed, and from the bassinet.
A small smile touched his face, as he got up and approached the bassinet. Galen then peered in, and saw his infant daughter was wide awake and looking around.
Her eyes landed on her father when his face appeared above her. She started to wiggle her arms and legs in excitement. Something he always found to be so adorable.
"Good morning, Lily bug. And how did we sleep?" He softly asked, as he knelt down to gently pick her up.
Galen held her close to his chest and gently rocked her.
She lifted her tiny hands up and rested them on either side of her head, palms up, then she gave him a tiny toothless smile, followed by another soft cooing sound.
His smile widened, then he leaned in and pressed a small kiss to her forehead.
Afterwards, he placed his pointer finger in one of her hands, and watched as she wrapped her little fingers around the digit. It still amazed him how tiny she was. Something told him, she will be petite just like her mother when she's older.
He used one of his other fingers to lightly brush back and forth over the back of her hand.
"Shall we go to the living room? Maybe read another story while we wait for your mother to finish her bath and dress?" Galen suggested.
"Agh!" Lily said.
Galen chuckled at her cute little reply.
"I'll take that as a yes. Let's go then, my Lily bug." He told her.
Then they left the bedroom, and he walked down the hall, towards the living room.
There was a small, wooden bookcase near one of the windows on the right side of the living room. That is where they kept the few books they have so far. Eventually, they'd like to get more, seeing as both he and Kristin enjoy reading.
He grabbed one of the children's books off the shelf with his free hand, then he took it to the couch and sat down with baby Lily.
As he placed the book on his lap and started to flip through it with his free hand, he paused. Then his gaze went from the book, back to his daughter.
"You know, one of these days, I'd like to tell you stories about your mother and me. How we met, the adventures we've been on with our best friends, your Uncle Alan and Uncle Pete. I'm sure you would like these stories." He told her with a small smile.
Lily just stared up at her father, listening to him talk. Another tiny smile lit up her face afterwards.
Yes, he would very much like to tell his little girl of these crazy adventures they all went on. Especially, since they all seem to have happy endings to them. Seeing as they all made it out in the end of each one, alive and unscathed.
Galen then resumed looking through the children's book of short stories. He found an old one that was actually one of his old favorites that his mother used to read to him when he was a small child.
He then started to read to her.
About ten minutes later was when Kristin came walking out, her hair still damp and hanging down her shoulders and back. She spotted them on the couch and smiled. Then she headed over to them and took a seat beside Galen.
"Reading more stories to her?" She inquires.
"Yes, found a few of my old favorites in here from when I was a child. So far, I believe she likes them." Galen replied.
Kristin reached over and ran her hand gently over their daughter's little cheek and up through her soft hair.
"There is something special I'd also like to do with you two today." He added.
Her gaze shifted from baby Lily to him.
"Yeah, what's that?" She asks.
"There is this pond just outside of the village. It has a beautiful view and I hear a lot of people like to seldom visit it. I would like to take us all there around lunch for a picnic." He informed her.
"Really? How did you hear about this pond?" She inquired.
"I've actually seen it at least once before. As I said, it's not that far outside the village. You can actually see it from the village. I asked around about it the other day while we were looking for supplies for us and a bassinet for Lily. That's how I heard it can be quite a popular spot for couples and families to frequent." He explained.
"Sounds like a nice little outing we can all use. It be the first one we had in very long time and the first one to have as a family." Kristin said.
"Yes, and we could all use one at this point, after the long journey we've been through. Think it's safe to say, we all deserve a break." Galen replied.
"Definitely, I feel it would give us a sense of normalcy too. Something we could really use right now as a family." She stated.
He nodded, agreeing with her.
While the journey has been fun for them, and they liked making a difference everywhere they went with their friends Alan and Pete, they can always agree they would like a feeling of normalcy back in their lives. Filled with safety and security again.
"What time did you plan on us going?" She asks.
"Around noon." He told her.
"We should probably let Alan and Pete know then, so they know where we will be later and where we are." Kristin said.
"We will. In the meantime, is there anything you want to get done this morning before we come back, pack food, and head out?" He asks.
"Well, I kind of would like to get some more clothes for myself. Maybe a few more shirts and I definitely need some more shorts or pants, seeing as I have been wearing nothing but my capris majority of the time since I been here." She said, with a small cringe.
It definitely felt pretty gross wearing the same capris and undies the whole time. Even when she tried to thoroughly wash them out at each river or lake they stopped at and had the time to wash.
An amused grin appeared on his face.
"I agree, those bottoms of yours have seen better days. I'm surprised they haven't fallen apart yet from all their use." He teased.
She snorted, "This coming from a guy who wore the same green outfit day in and day out the whole time?"
"Yes, but...I'm better at taking care of my clothes than you." Galen joked.
"Ha! Yeah, sure! Your clothes were looking a little worse for wear too, and we both know it. So, stop spouting bullshit." Kristin retorted.
He rolled his eyes, "If you say so. Shall we go then and get you some new clothes? Hopefully, you can keep these new clothes in better shape then your old ones."
"Fine by me, chimp boy. Let's go then." Kristin fired back.
Galen smiled and shook his head.
Then he closed the book and handed it to Kristin to go put back really quick. Then they went to the kitchen and grabbed the baby sling that was hanging over the back of one of the chairs.
Kristin put the sling over her, then gestured for the baby.
He handed the infant over and helped her get situated into the sling. Then the couple grabbed their packs that they left on the floor near the front door. Galen helped her put her pack on, while he slipped his on.
Then they left.
On the way into the main part of the village, they stopped by Alan and Pete's dwellings, and knocked on the door.
About a minute later, Alan answered the door.
"Hey, guys. Good morning." Alan said.
"Morning, Alan. How'd you sleep last night?" Kristin asked.
Before he could answer they heard Pete say something in the background.
"He obviously slept very good; I could hear him snoring from my room!" Pete called out from inside.
Galen and Kristin got a good chuckle out of that.
Alan just shook his head.
"It was more of the other way around, with him snoring." Alan retorted.
"We get it, you both like sawing wood in your sleep. Nothing to be ashamed about." Kristin teased.
"But I don't snore." Pete said, coming up behind Alan in the open doorway.
"Yeah, ok, Pete. And I still believe in the Easter Bunny." Kristin joked.
"I can almost believe that." Pete joked back.
"Anyways, we were going back to the village square. Kristin was going to pick up some more clothes. I may pick up some more too. Did you two want to come?" Galen asked.
The two men thought about it, they too could probably use more clothes themselves, seeing as they have been wearing the same outfits since they got here.
"Yeah, we could probably use some more clothes ourselves. Give us a moment to grab our packs." Pete replied.
The two men went back inside and went into their bedrooms to grab their packs. Then they came back moments later with them and closed the front door behind them.
They joined the couple and their infant and headed out.
Despite it being still rather early in the morning, there were already a lot of people wandering about doing things. It was nice being in such a lively place, and the people here did seem happy.
A few minutes later, they found themselves back at the main square where all the stands were.
Some people were still putting stuff out on the tables, getting ready to start the day. While others were already seated behind their tables with everything all set out.
A few families were already out with some of their kids scoping these stands.
Some of the kids were goofing off and running around, giggling. Some were human children, and some were ape children. They didn't play separately either, some of the ape children were playing with some of the human children.
As the small group was walking by, a couple of them had to stop short, because a couple of giggling kids darted out right in front of them.
Suddenly, Alan felt something slam into the side of his leg. He heard a small 'oomph' and he quickly looked down to see a small ape child on the ground.
Alan quickly knelt down to help the small child up. Upon closer inspection, he saw it was a small gorilla boy, probably no more than three or four years old.
"Hey, you, ok? I'm sorry, kiddo, I didn't see you." Alan said, helping the small boy up.
"Sss..sorry, Sir. I wasn't paying attention." He said in a tiny, shy voice.
"It's alright, as long as you're ok." Alan said.
Before the small gorilla boy could say anything else, another voice cut through the air.
"Nico? Everything ok, honey?" Said a woman's voice.
The small boy shifted his gaze and looked behind him.
"Yes, sorry, mother. I ran into someone trying to catch Jaxon and Samoa." He awkwardly stated.
That's when the group noticed it was a human woman.
She looked to be a little younger than Kristin. She had a lot of freckles, with hazel eyes, and long, red hair, done up in a side braid. She was also cradling an ape infant to her front.
"I'm sorry, if he ran into you. He unfortunately, has a bad habit of not looking where he's going when he's running." She said, apologetically as she walked up to the group.
"It's ok, Miss. It's no problem at all." Alan told her.
The gorilla boy went running back over to his mother and stood by her side. While she looked back and forth between the group.
"Are you all new here? I don't think I've seen you here before." The woman said.
"We just got here a couple days ago." Kristin replied.
The young woman's gaze shifted to Kristin. She noticed that she too had a small infant in a sling cradled to her chest, and next to her was a male chimp.
"Say, are you that new couple who moved to town with a young infant? Taro told me he sent out a letter from one of them and briefly talked to them at their home." The woman inquired.
They were silent for a moment, taking in what she just said, then it seemed to click.
"Are you Laila, by any chance?" Kristin asked.
The young woman smiled, "Yes, I see, my husband Taro told you about me."
They were all a little surprised. So, this was Taro's wife, Laila, and their two children.
"Yes, he did. After he informed me, he sent out my letter to my parents in Central City." Galen said.
"Well, it's nice to finally officially meet you. This here is my son, Nico. And this little one here, is my daughter, Milla." Laila said, introducing her children.
"Nice to finally meet you as well." Kristin replied.
Laila nodded, "I also heard, that your daughter was born around the same time, my daughter was, yes?"
"Yes, she was born a few days ago. On the way here, actually." Galen told her.
"Congratulations." Laila said.
"Thanks, you too, Congratulations." Kristin replied back.
"So, what's your daughter's name?" Laila asked.
"Her name is Lily." Kristin said.
"Pretty." Laila replied.
They all exchanged a few more words, before going their separate ways.
Laila even asked to visit with Kristin and Galen some time. Of course, the couple said, yes. Laila seemed very sweet, and both their daughters were the same age. It would be very nice for them to be playmates together.
Afterwards, they began looking through the stands for some clothes.
While they had some nice dresses and skirts, Kristin was not a dress person. She always preferred, pants, capris, or shorts. So, she ended up looking through the sections that had those items instead.
No one thought anything of her getting some pants and capris. They probably figured she was getting them for a male relative. Unfortunately, no one seemed to sell shorts.
Perhaps, Kristin can just buy a couple extra pairs of pants and cut them off a little more than halfway and turned them into shorts.
It got very warm here, and there was no way in hell she was going to wear pants or capris in eighty-to-ninety-five-degree temperatures in the warmer months.
After around an hour. It seemed like everyone found the clothes they needed. They tried to shove as many outfits into their packs as they could. Though some they had to carry by hand, because the rest wouldn't fit.
Afterwards, they decided to start heading back to their homes, so they could put all their new clothes away.
On the way back, Galen hung back a little with Alan and Pete as Kristin walked ahead with baby Lily. He wanted to let his friends know what he had planned for early this afternoon.
"So, I'm going to take Kristin and Lily to this lovely spot by the pond just outside of the village. It's a very popular spot that the villagers like to frequent. We were planning on having a picnic there. It's...also where I want to ask her a very important question. But...I'm also quite nervous about asking her." Galen admitted.
"Oh, and what's the question?" Pete inquired.
Galen started ringing his hands together a little nervously.
Kristin was walking ahead and hadn't realized just yet that the three men were quite a way behind her now. Only when she looked over her shoulder, did she realize they were at least fifteen to twenty feet behind her.
They were conversing about something but couldn't hear what they were saying.
"Don't be nervous. It's something to be happy about, Galen." Alan assured him.
"Yes, I know, I just..."
"Hey, you guys good? Your kind of lagging behind here." Kristin said, as she came walking back to them.
"Sorry, we just got caught up in conversation." Pete told her.
"Ok, what about?" She asks.
"Ummm..." Galen trailed off.
"He was just telling us about the picnic he was taking you and Lily on." Alan said, helping Galen out.
"Yeah, sounds like it will be a lot of fun." Pete added.
"I know, can't wait. It would be a nice change of pace for once. Without anyone chasing us, trying to gun us down." Kristin lightly teased.
"We hear you there." Pete said, with an amused smirk.
"Anyways, it's almost that time, we should probably get back, sort through our new clothes, put them away, and start packing some food and water to bring out to the pond." Galen suggested.
"Sounds great to me." She said.
The group headed back to their dwellings. They split off to head into their homes. Alan and Pete told the couple to have fun and that they will see them later.
Galen and Kristin went inside with baby Lily. They went into their bedroom and started to sort through the clothes they got. Then they started folding them up and placing them in the wooden dresser on the left side of the bedroom against the wall.
Afterwards, they headed to the kitchen and started packing some food.
They grabbed some fruits, vegetables, dried meats, and a couple thin wooden plates to bring. Everything was placed into a woven basket that they bought the other day. The pair also pulled out their waterskins and filled them with water from the sink in the kitchen. Kristin also made sure to bring her phone with her as well.
Galen then made sure to pack a good size blanket for them to sit on.
After twenty minutes or so, they were ready. Perfect timing too, seeing as judging by the position of the sun, it looked to be around 12:30pm, and with that in mind, they grabbed everything and left.
Kristin carried baby Lily in her sling. While Galen walked beside her carrying the basket filled with food and water. The blanket was folded up neatly and placed on top of the food in the basket.
It was about a ten-minute walk before they got to this pond Galen told her about. When they did get there, Kristin was in awe at the beautiful sight.
It was a pretty big pond, and it was surrounded by various trees. Quite a few of them were actually these large, beautiful weeping willow trees. There were also tons of wildflowers growing around the edge of the pond and in an area of the pond where it was narrow, a cute, arched wooden bridge went across it.
"Galen, this place is beautiful." Kristin said, with a large smile on her face.
He smiled back, "I know."
Galen then gestured to one nice spot right beneath one of the weeping willow trees. Some of its branches drooped down over the pond and into the water, creating little ripples every time the soft breeze blew against them.
There was one somewhat bare patch beneath the tree that was just big enough for them to put the blanket down.
When they got there, Galen set the basket on the grass and pulled the folded blanket out. He then unfolded it and draped it over the grass before them. Then he set the basket down on the blanket and they both took a seat on it.
He pulled the two thin plates out of the side of the basket and set them down on the blanket. Then he started loading food onto the plate for them, while Kristin sat with Lily still cradled against her.
What was nice about the arrangement was that they couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for it. The sun was shining bright above them without a cloud in the sky. The temperature was anywhere between seventy-five to seventy-eight degrees, with a soft breeze every now and then.
It was pretty quiet out there. There were only maybe a couple other villagers out there.
A human couple was standing on the small wooden bridge overlooking the pond. While an ape was on the opposite end, sitting on a tree stump by the water with a fishing pole in hand.
They ate their lunch, while conversing a little back and forth and enjoying the scenery.
"I feel like this picnic couldn't be any more perfect and this beautiful place makes it all the better." She said, as she lightly ran her fingers through Lily's soft hair. Lily having fell asleep a little while ago in her arms.
Galen was silent for a moment, before he spoke up.
"Well...I can think of at least one more thing that could make this moment even more perfect." He said.
Kristin's gaze shifted from the view of the pond in front of her to Galen.
"Really, and what's that? And please tell me, it doesn't involve you tossing me in the water again." She joked.
Galen chuckled, remembering the time he got her good that one time at the beach after they escaped from the fishing labor camp.
"No, though it is quite tempting, that is not it." He teased.
"Ok, spill then. What is it that you claim will make it better?" She asked.
Galen took a deep breath, swallowing down his nerves.
He scooted in closer to Kristin. His gaze never left her face. He then reached up, and brushed a stray lock back over her shoulder, then lightly cupped her cheek.
"I feel...that this is the right time to ask...if you would marry me." Galen asked, albeit a little nervously.
Kristin's lips parted a little and seemed to have a slightly surprised look on her face.
After a few moments, a smile slowly started to form on her face, and her eyes became a little glassy.
"Yes." She said.
A large smile appeared on Galen's face. Then he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
Kristin let out a small gasp and pressed hers to his. The kiss was deep and filled with love and promise. How could she ever refuse? She loved Galen. No one could ever make her feel this alive and happy.
Except for him.
They had a strong, unbreakable bond and connection from the very start and to this day, was still getting stronger with each passing day they were together. It was that bond and love that gave them their precious daughter.
After several more seconds of sharing that intense kiss, they pulled back for much needed air.
They pressed their foreheads together while they caught their breath.
"I love you." Galen said.
"I love you too." Kristin replied.
He wrapped his arms around her and baby Lily and held them close.
They stayed like this for a while, enjoying the embrace and close contact that came with it. It was definitely the perfect way to end a picnic that was for sure, and make it memorable.
I hope everyone enjoyed this cute fluff of a chapter. Galen finally popped the question. I'm sad to say though, that we are nearing the end of this story with the next chapter most likely being the Epilogue.
Until Next Time ;)
