It was the 5th day…
"Hey! How much gold did we get from Feather?" Cliff asked.
"We got 20 million in gold, and a 50 million in beri's. No doubt he cashed it in some bank to get beri for gold. Add this to the 20 million we stole from Centaurea, we have 90 million beri!" May replied.
"That's all well and good, but Cliff aren't you forgetting something?" Cassy said, interrupting their conversation.
Cliff closed his mouth and began to think as to what he had forgotten.
2 minutes go by before he suddenly jumps, "Oh! I forgot! Thanks for reminding me, Cassy!"
He ran off towards the ship without explanation and came back with a package.
"Back when we left the village, the seamstress gave me a package. Said she made it for me from the best material she could get her hands on." He untied the packages' bindings and let the covering fall.
Cliff unfurled what was inside the package before freezing. It was a Blue Captain's Coat with golden epaulettes on its shoulders.
"You mentioned this, after we came back from Loguetown. She overheard it while sitting behind us in the diner." Cassy said with a smile on her face.
Cliff looked towards her then back to the coat, before slowly sliding it on his shoulders just like he had seen his grandfather do. (Just like all the pirate captains and marines do."
It stuck to his shoulders, as he walked around, trying to get used to the feeling of it.
"Now you look like a real Captain!" Taiga cheered having just woken up.
"Taiga! Fight me!" Cliff said suddenly.
"Eh!?" (May, Cassy and Taiga)
"I gotta get used to having this on my body during fights! So lets fight!"
"Sure, no problem, Captain!"
CLANG!
TIMESKIP 3 DAYS~
"How long are they going to fight?" May whined while keeping some ice on a bump formed on her forehead just above her left eye.
…
…
…
"I guess it's my fault for getting knocked out so easily. I really do need to train with Cassy!"
"Yes, Yes, you do." A reply came which caught May off guard as she shrieked while jumping atleast her height (Impressive, 6ft jump) before landing in a stance.
Her shriek caused the other 3 to stop fighting and look over. Spotting an intruder, all 3 tensed ready to fight her but Cassy relaxed somewhat upon recognising the intruder.
"Mio! It's nice to see you! What are you doing here?" Cassy said.
"Mio?" 3 voices called.
"She's the ex-marine that gave me the info about the marine base in Torino Kingdom!" Cassy explained.
"Hi! My names Mio Kazue." She waved.
She had blonde hair falling to her shoulders, similarly yellow eyes, and a beautiful face (think Stussy like but not identical.) She had on a small black top falling just below her breasts leaving her belly bare. The top had 'Gold Roger' printed on it in white colour that caught one's eye. She also had on light blue coloured shorts on that reached till mid-thigh leaving the rest of her legs bare which ended in simple sandal clad feet. She stood somewhat equal to Cassy in height. (6ft 3in)
"I'm not exactly an ex-marine." She continued despite the obvious looks looking up and down her form, "I just said that to make sure you took me seriously."
"Then what are you?" Cliff asked curiously.
"My father was a marine before he died on duty. He was the previous head of the base in Torino Kingdom. When he was in charge, he let me roam around the base, after his death the new Commander let me roam around too."
"So, you used that too gather dirt on her?" Cliff asked.
"Not at first. But as it became apparent that they were receiving money, I did."
"Okay. Let's get you answer to better questions. Why are you here?" (May)
"You guys are behind on the news, aren't you? First of all, you need to leave this island as fast as possible-"
"Eh? Why?" (Taiga)
"This island and West-point Island is the native home of very large birds that the feather pirates managed to drive off purely because they had a huge crew. They will come back. Second, your new bounties have been issued." Saying this she brought out a few bounty posters.
First was that of Cliff laughing wearing his blue captains coat, his full body shown. His bounty had increased from 5 million beri to 15 million beri to match that of Capt. Feather who he had defeated.
Second was of Cassy, her red hair billowing in the wind, hers showed her with her sword drawn. Her bounty was of exactly 10 million beri matching that of Jari, the first-mate of Feather Pirates.
Third was the same old poster of May with no changes at all. She still had a 1 million beri bounty.
Then Mio showed them a newspaper article which read,
"…A new pirate crew is on the rise in the South Blue. While many such pirate crews have risen since the execution of Pirate King Gold Roger, not many have had the courage to steal a ship directly from the marines. The marine base on Centaurea had received a ship from Water-7 that they had been holding onto for reason's they refuse to disclose. This ship has been stolen by 'Roaring Tiger Pirates' and is now used as their own ship. The marines have named the pirate crew as such partly because the crew themselves have not proclaimed a name and also because the ship they stole had been named the 'Roaring Tigress'. This crew has now gone on to wage a war with the Feather Pirates, which were preciously believed to have been disbanded, and has achieved victory by completely annihilating the opposing crew. Feather Pirates have been killed to the last man including the Captain and the First-mate. These new pirates have been issued bounties which you can find in today's Journal…"
Reading that Cliff voiced out, "Roaring Tiger Pirates?"
All 4 looked towards him thinking he didn't like the name.
"Hell yeah! That's awesome! We're the Roaring Tiger Pirates now!" He cheered out.
They all sighed in relief, before Cassy once again turned to look at Mio, "Thankyou for that. But still why are you here? We would've found out about all this one way or another."
Mio looked at the crew, who were now all looking at her.
She opened her mouth as if to say something a few times before closing, seemingly unable to decide whether to tell them or not, before sighing.
"I wanted to sail on the seas too like my father. But I didn't want to become a marine. All that paperwork I saw my father do and complain about, it put me off of that idea." She began.
"Why didn't you set sail after his death?" (Cliff)
"My mother. She was sick. I couldn't just leave her. So, I stayed. My mother died a few months ago, but I still stayed. When I thought I could sail then, I started to feel horrible. It felt as though I was only waiting for my mother to die so that I could move on. So, I thought I would stay a month or two before setting sail. But it still didn't feel right. What is the appropriate amount of time to grieve before I could set sail? I just didn't know!"
"And now?" (Cliff)
"Now I just want to set sail. But I don't want to do so alone. So, I came here to ask for a position in your crew."
"Why? Why do you want to sail so badly?" Cliff asked her.
"Dunno" she shrugged. "Dad used to tell me stories of the sea and its wonders. Of the Grand-Line and its wonders. Of the Devil Fruits and their bullshittery. I got interested and that interest didn't fade. It continued to grow, even after his death. I just wanna see it."
"I see. Then, welcome to the Roaring Tiger Pirates, Mio."
