"Ok, starting today you'll be sitting next to Aozora. The student over there." The teacher pointed towards an empty seat between Aozora and another student on the left section in the middle row.
"Not freckles." Andrew muttered under his breath but the glare at his back from the teacher prompted him to move.
"Hey Amelia." Aozora giggled as he called him the wrong name. Purposely of course as he had a sly smile.
"You saw, didn't you?" Andrew ignored Aozora's taunting but one thought came to mind as to why he was acting this way.
"Aw not in your dress today? What a shame." Aozora teased giggling as Andrew's face slowly grew red at the memory.
'For fuck's sake' Andrew let out with an exasperated sigh an pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"You'll shut your mouth now or I'll force it shut." Andrew tried to focus on what's in front of him instead of giving Aozora the attention that annoying menace next to him desired.
"But Amelia, that dress was so perfect on you." Aozora's usually bright smile was a huge grin and his eyes couldn't hide the truth. He enjoyed messing with him. With Aozora's personality Andrew was sure he had already cemented his position as a popular and well liked kid amongst the others as well as the teacher but he couldn't care less.
'Clatter'
"Say that again!" Andrew had Aozora gripped by the collar and was staring daggers at him whispering the threat so only he could hear it. Hand balled up into a fist next to him.
"ANDREW, AOZORA!" The teacher yelled. "Outside the classroom now, I will not tolerate fighting!"
Both of the kids just looked at each other and smiled as they left. One moment they were at odds now they were happily getting along.
"What odd boys." The girl sitting next to Andrew queried in her head what their relationship was to go from fighting to happily chatting. She witnessed and heard the whole thing from the beginning. "Just who is that boy?"
"How's life with the Uchiha?" Aozora asked.
"It's alright. I get clothed and fed. Same as what the village did for us. How about you?"
"The Hyuga disrespect me as being an outsider. Me and the others were only taken in to improve their image as a clan. A sign of good will. And we're basically ostracised by the clan. But at least we get a certain degree of freedom we didn't have before."
"That's true." Both of the boys' circumstances were similar yet Andrew had better living conditions with Granny Izuka and Karasu defending them within the Uchiha clan compound. They were talking as normal. Andrew refused to admit it but they had already become friends.
"You've changed?"
"How so?" Andrew asked. In his mind he was the same as always. Trying to avoid unnecessary connections with people.
"I don't know but the air about you? You seem more approachable now." Aozora couldn't explain it but the few weeks they had been gone Andrew had changed for the better.
The day easily passed by with a scolding from the teacher and going their separate ways at lunch as Aozora got swarmed with girls and boys alike trying to share their lunch and get him to play games with them, his infectious smile, taming them all in a moment. Andrew searched for a secluded spot where he would be alone but could easily watch his surroundings and the school roof was that spot, sneaking up the stairs and unlocking the locked door like he used to do at the care home was a refreshing change of pace.
He found a place to sit quietly and reached for his lunch before he realised he left it at home (Karasu's place). He just sat there peacefully watching the day go by before someone's voice could be heard yelling from the door. He frankly didn't care for it and acted like there was no one there and started picking his ear.
"How dare you disrespect the Uchiha name!" Looking down, a similar situation was unfolding with Aozora and a Hyuga.
Andrew continued Ignoring the brat and watched to see what Aozora would do to end the situation. He was gesturing to calm down his loyal dogs and the Hyuga and it seemed they started to get along well, finding common ground and falling for his smile the situation ended without incident. Meanwhile on the other hand.
"Please don't drop me!" Andrew held the Uchiha by the collar and was hanging them off the roof of the school.
"I'll do anything, ninja tools, money, connections within the Uchiha! Just don't drop me! Please!" The Uchiha was on the verge of tears and was begging wholeheartedly for fear of dying.
"Just don't let me see your face again." Andrew said as he tossed the Uchiha to the ground.
The kid wiped his face and then launched towards Andrew with his fist to redeem his loss and earn back his honour for making him beg.
'When will you learn?' Andrew dodged to the side, striking his arm quickly followed up by a punch to the ribs causing the Uchiha to stumble. Andrew got closer, his demeanour scaring the Uchiha and causing him to crawl backwards and cower behind his hands for cover.
BAM!
A light kick to the face put the Uchiha to sleep as Andrew left.
'Suppose I can't use the roof anymore.' If he continued to use the roof to people watch at lunch then the next day more Uchiha would arrive to avenge their clan mates' honour or just people who hold grudges against him.
"That was a bit excessive." By the side of the door watching the whole one sided fight unfold was a girl with light green hair tied up in twin tails and dark hazel eyes that reflected back Andrew's emerald green eyes.
"Was it?" Looking back to see the boy lying on the floor he checked the surroundings of the fight to which there was no damage or blood.
"There's no blood so he's fine." Andrew looked back at the girl and asked "Do you want to help him? I won't stop you."
"No. Though I do feel sorry for him, I'm more interested in you." The girl looked at Andrew with a curious gaze as if trying to figure out the inner machinations of his brain.
"Did you not hear me the first time? I don't care about you." Andrew recited what he said for his introduction to try and avoid pestering bugs latching onto him.
"But you don't care what others think about you." The girl replied.
Andrew was stunned for a moment. She wasn't wrong, after some thought he just left and the girl tagged along quietly observing Andrew the rest of the day.
I have started a poll to see if I should continue the side stories or not. If you wish to participate you can or not. I dont mind. Enjoy reading.
