Hello one and all! I bid you welcome to a brand-new story; one I have been wanting to write for a long time! This is the first time I ever wrote a story like this, as most of them in the past have all been action adventures, and this one certainly has plenty of that, there's also quite a lot of drama in it too (and that's saying something given what shows I'm using today).

The minute I saw "The Owl House" and "Amphibia", I instantly fell in love with both, in the same way I did "Gravity Falls". I honestly considered doing a mega-crossover with those three, as well as "Steven Universe" and "Star vs. The Forces of Evil", but that ended up turning into such a huge mess that didn't even make it past the planning stage. So, I decided to condense it tall to "The Owl House" and "Amphibia". Now, I'm certain there have been a lot of crossovers between these two, and it's not hard given how similar and different they are to one another, I wanted to write my own that I felt was unique… but I had to see how both shows ended before I began planning it all in order to make sure I had all the details. And now that I've seen it, and I have an opening with my stories, I can finally begin writing this.

I also see this story as an opportunity to expand on several of the characters and the plotlines for both shows, particularly "The Owl House" given how there were a few plot holes even after finishing, but that's mostly Disney's fault for cancelling it and Dana did the best she could with what she had, and she did a phenomenal job! So, expect quite a bit of story expansion here.

Now, with all that being said, let's begin another journey of adventure, humor, love, friendship, trauma, the works!

"The Owl House of Amphibia" starts NOW!

Disclaimer: "The Owl House" and "Amphibia", both created by Dana Terrace and Matt Braly respectively, belong to Disney. I own nothing.

Powers of Two Worlds

The multiverse is made up of many different worlds, each with its own history. Some worlds can seem so similar that one can spend a lifetime searching for even the slightest distinction. But others can be so irradicably different, they defy comprehension. One such world is known as Amphibia, a world of anthropomorphic amphibians, frogs, toads, and newts, as well as enormous beasts. But what made Amphibia so unique was that it had a certain kind of society, one that was technologically advanced, like something out of science fiction, so much so that the inhabitants of this world had developed the ability to travel to different worlds across the multiverse…

And conquer them.

Newtopia, the capital of Amphibia, also served as the main driving force for Amphibia's conquest of other worlds. Their methods for doing so were simple. Using their means to travel between worlds, they would send drones to a world that they felt was worth conquering for whatever reason they felt would benefit their own. These drones, in the form of small robotic insects, would stealthily scout the world to study its inhabitants and their capabilities, learn of any potential targets to strike, and how to best go about conquering so that they can harvest that world's resources for their own way of life to continue. Once they had the information they would need, they would prepare an appropriate invasion force and begin their campaign. Nearly every world they've invaded tried to fight back, and while many were able to put up decent fights, nobody could resist Newtopia's technological advances for long and would eventually fall.

One such world that Newtopia felt was worth conquering was a place known as the Demon Realm. Among the other worlds that Newtopia has seen and conquered, this dimension was certainly among the most unique. The planet itself was significantly larger than the one Amphibia was a part of, perhaps even three times as large. The oceans that covered this world's surface were boiling hot, so much so that without any kind of protection, any organic being would be severely burnt if they were to contact it, and this even led to the Demon Realm's precipitation being the same scolding hot temperature as well. But what stood out the most about this planet, were that there many giant skeletons scattered across the oceanic surface. Enormous beasts of shapes and sizes once apparently roamed this planet as its original inhabitants, beasts so large that they easily dwarfed even the largest of Herons that commonly roamed Amphibia's wildlife. What could have happened to render such an enormous species extinct? Perhaps more information on that could be found upon this worlds' conquest, and if such a power does indeed exist, it would greatly benefit Newtopia.

That was another reason why the Demon Realm was now targeted for invasion: power. Despite the original giants that called this world their home being long since dead, this world was not completely lifeless. In fact, the spy drones that had scouted this world had seen many smaller creatures occupying these skeletons and making homes and societies from them. These creatures was all unique in every way, shape, or form. There were humanoids that stood upright, spoke, and followed the laws of their civilizations like any other civilized individual, to more animalistic creatures that seemed more akin to wild beasts. Even then, the more 'evolved' humanoids were still unique among their peers as several had extra limbs or facial distinguishes, some had harder skin, some had unique physical capabilities compared to others. But nearly all of these humanoids had the ability to perform what they called 'magic'. They could use this magic to manipulate the elements, such as fire and ice, or even use it to help in constructing their homes and societies, even children would use this magic just to play games with one another.

This world was well worth conquering, so much so that once they all learned of this, Newtopia had readied an invasion fleet and deployed itself to begin the conquest of the Demon Realm.

So why was it… why was it that despite its many technological advances and generations of experience in conquering many other worlds in the past… that the forces of Amphibia were at a standstill in this enormous battle!?

Currently, the castle of Newtopia, which also served as the flagship for the invasion fleet, hovered over the skull of a large titanic skeleton, one that based on its structure, was once a giant flying reptile-like creature that laid face-down in the boiling sea, with enormous wings and a long tail, the right wing was previously bent upward and had its own climate at the joint that was akin to a mountain. The enormous hovering castle, which was propelled upward by giant jet boosters at the base of the building, had appeared over the skull as the leader of the invasion, the current ruler of Amphibia, King Aldrich, had gave an announcement to the magic users that occupied this skeleton to surrender to their new ruler, and to prevent anyone from getting any funny ideas of resisting, the tallest tower on the floating fortress, also serving as a cannon, had shot an enormous energy beam at the right wing joint, blowing it to pieces, as a demonstration of Newtopia's power.

But despite that showing, the magic users of this skeleton had rallied together and formed an army to combat the invading forces and were currently engaged in a war that seemed to take place on the back of the skeleton.

Newtopia's attacking forces consisted of machines that resembled mechanical frogs and there were two main types. The vast majority were five feet tall and equipped with jetpacks that enabled flight, as well as built-in lasers in their shoulders, eyes, and arms. The others were enormous, much larger robotic frogs that were three-times the size of their smaller infantry variants. And while this attack force seemed well-organized, the magical forces that stood against them seemed like the complete opposite as various magic users all stood together to fight for one another, many had even rallied their wild beasts to join them, probably through some other magical power that allowed the magic users to tame these beasts.

Blasts of energy and magic were shot in all directions as the war continued on. A line of Frobots fired at a group of charging multi-legged rhino-like beasts with magic users riding on them. The magic users returned fire by pointing their hands, drawing energy circles in the air, and fired blasts of fire, ice, lightning, and other similar attacks as their steeds closed the gap. Several of the front-most steeds were gunned down, but this allowed those behind to get in close and smash the robots. Even beasts that had lost their riders were capable of fighting as they smashed their horns into the hides of their robotic foes and even tore at them with their teeth. Even magic users that weren't on the beast mounts were fighting with everything they had, blasting not only the elements, but even using the ground itself as weapons.

One such instance included one of the giant Frobots that had its arms converted into canons to blow away a group of beasts that tried to charge at it. But a group of ten humanoid magic users had surrounded the robot and placed their hands on the ground. Five of them used some kind of plant magic to grow enormous vines to ensnare and pin the robot down to the ground, while the other five had some kind of ground-based magic as they combined their respective powers together to grow an enormous rock-spike from the ground below the giant Frobot to eviscerate it.

The sky above had also become a warzone as flying Frobots engaged in an aerial dogfight with flying beasts, also of various shapes and sizes, many of whom had magic users riding on them. The magic users used their abilities to shoot the robots out of the sky at a distance, while the beasts themselves used their natural abilities, such as claws, talons, teeth, tails, or even a fire-breath, to tear the beasts apart. Some magic users even had wings on their backs that enabled them to fly alongside their beasts as well. Despite the Frobots shooting many beasts and magic users down, they found themselves quickly overwhelmed as they were smashed and blown to pieces.

But Newtopia had more to its own forces than just robots. While frogs and newts had more analytical and commander-based roles when it came to their invasions, toads were warriors and trained for battle. And unlike their robotic forces, toads were capable of adapting quickly in battle and had more to give with their own strength and will power than what was just programed.

And the one leading the toads was General Gradina, a female dark-green sinned toad with yellow eyes and long black hair, wearing rusty silver Amphibian armor with a shield strapped to her left arm and a spear in the other. She used said shield to block the flames from a magic-user before rushing forward to close the gap and lunged her spear forward and into the humanoid to bring him down.

"Form up!" She commanded the toads near her, all of whom gathered together as she saw a group of magic users spin their hands and fingers around to ready their long-distance magical attacks. "Shields!" She and all the gathered toads brought up their shields to block the magical attacks of fire, ice, and other such powers. Their own combined strength allowed the group of toads to stand their ground through the onslaught, even with the robots near them getting blown away.

"Charge!" Gradina ordered as she and her toads rushed forward with great enthusiasm to engage the magic users, drawing swords, spears, and axes to engage them in close quarters combat, something that toads excelled at.

The female toad general lunged her spear into the gut of one magic user before pulling back and kicking him down. A cluster of vines was shot toward her from the right, but Gradina ducked underneath and used her shield as a form of cover to get in close, slicing her spear to cut away at the vines closest to the magic user who attacked her and rushed him to slam her shield into his face, which had over a dozen eyes in it, before pushing him down hard to the ground. But Gradina soon found herself surrounded by six other magic users, all of whom prepared to blast their respective magics at her, but Gradina spun her spear around her in a perfect circle to quickly cut them all down.

Taking a moment to collect her breath from the bout, Gradina gazed at the ongoing battle all around her. Despite her toad forces fighting with everything they had, even they would soon be overwhelmed just as their robotic forces appeared to be soon. This was a losing battle. And yet, despite that, Gradina couldn't help but smile at it all. These magic users didn't appear to have any kind of military and yet they and all their beasts were actually pushing back the robot army of Newtopia and even her toad soldiers. They were true warriors; ones she now had the utmost of respect for.

"What a glorious battle." She said with an eager smile. "Barrel, my newborn son, should I survive this… I will tell you of this battle… and may you find ones worthy of you."

A loud roar and the sound of metal breaking apart caught her attention as Gradina turned to her side to see a large reptilian bird-like beast with bat-like wings and an elongated neck rip into a giant Frobot and tear its head off before the giant hunk of metal fell down. The monster then turned its attention to Gradina, which only caused her grin to grow.

"Come to me, beast!" She challenged as she took a warrior's stance, her shield forward and her spear pointing outward above the shield. "I've slain Herons with my spear! Show me what you can do!"

The monster roared as it charged on its hind legs and taloned wings toward the toad general, who prepared her spear for a mighty lunge. But the creature immediately took flight just as it closed in and grabbed at her with its talon legs, catching the toad general and pulling her up high into the air. The beast had a good grip that kept Gradina's arms to her sides, but she was far from helpless as she shot out her elongated tongue with enough force into it's underbelly, allowing it to let go. But just before Gradina could even fall, she lunged her spear into the stomach of the beast, which caused the monster to roar in pain as it tried to spin itself around to shake her off.

Gradina was forced to discard her shield to grab her spear with both ends to keep her from flying off. Despite monster still spinning in the air, Gradina pulled herself forward on her own spear, but she noticed how it was about to come loose from all the spinning and picked up the pace to get herself closer to the beast. By the time the spear was thrown out, Gradina was close enough to leap and grab onto the right joint of the wing with both of her arms. She then proceeded to squeeze at the joint with all her strength, even as the monster continued to fly out of control. Gradina then began to channel all her rage, up to the point her face turned red, and funneled that into her arms. And with a mighty roar, she squeezed hard enough to snap the bones at the joint.

The beast screeched as it fell from the sky, no longer able to support itself with just one wing. It practically plummeted straight for the ground and crashed into what appeared to be a house made out of stone and wood in an area some distance away from the ongoing battle.

Gradina pulled herself up and tried to stand still to keep her balance as her vision straightened out. Shaking her head somewhat to regain her senses, she looked at her side to see that the beast she was fighting now laid dead, having perished upon impact with the structure they had crashed into.

"Good fight." She nodded to the beast. She would have gone to rejoin her troops, but she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. There was some blood coming out from the bottom of some broken stone and rubble, but this blood wasn't from the creature she had just defeated. With curiosity, she moved the rubble aside to see something that made her lightly gasp.

It was a female humanoid, likely another magic user, or at least what was left of her, laying on her side as her arms clung around something small and wrapped in cloth. Upon closer inspection, Gradina noticed there was black hair and pointed ears on the deceased female, with a small black fuzzy patch barley seen at the top of the wrapping of cloth, it didn't take her very long to understand what this was.

This was the home of a mother magic user who had chosen not to join in the battle, likely to protect her infant. And in her final moments, the mother had used her own body in an attempt to save her child. This caused Gradina to look with sympathy. She was indeed, a warrior, one who was loyal to Amphibia and the royal family, but she was also a mother. And in the same situation, she would lay down her life so that her own son could live. But it seemed the child had perished along with its mother.

"I am sorry." Gradina said to the late mother. "But at least you and your little one are together in the afterlife. If you believe in that sort of thing." She was about to walk away until she heard an odd sound… The sound of crying.

Turning around in clear surprise, Gradina saw there was movement in-between the late mother's arms, and as a mother herself, she would never mistake the sound of a crying infant.

The child was still alive!

Meanwhile, within the control room of his hovering castle, King Aldrich himself stood at the center of the room as his various frog and newt commanders and operators were at the monitors that oversaw the ongoing battle. Aldrich himself was a towering blue-skinned newt, one that easily dwarfed probably every other newt in Amphibia, with long white hair and yellow eyes. He wore silver battle armor with the symbol of Amphibia embedded on its chest, a long black cape and a stone crown on his head while also carrying a double-bladed axe on a long staff as he too observed all the battles.

"Your majesty, nearly seventy percent of our robots have been destroyed and the number is quickly growing!" A newt commander reported.

"Gradina and her toads are holding out, but they will be overwhelmed soon!" A frog operator added.

"This makes no sense!" Another newt commented. "We've studied this world, this particular titan corpse and its inhabitants especially! They have no military! How are they able to push us back?!"

Aldrich clenched his free fist in frustration as he felt the same way. Their methods have never failed before. Send drones to spy and observe the population of the targeted world, amass a force that was needed to conquer said world, and then take it. Even if there was resistance, they would be overwhelmed eventually. But this was the first time their forces were being pushed back so much!

"Their magic…" The tyrant king himself said in a low growl. "This power of theirs… that has to be the reason for this. But their magic will be ours. Is the main cannon charged?"

"Yes, your majesty." A frog operator confirmed.

"Then fire at the central chest area! Decimate their forces at once!" Aldrich ordered.

"B-But your highness… Gradina and her soldiers are still down there…!" One newt attempted to protest.

"Then we will honor their sacrifice and conquer this world, now do as I command and fire at once!" Aldrich exclaimed, slamming the pole-end of his axe into the ground for emphasis.

"Yes, sire!" The newt typed the commands on his console as the top cannon appeared on the screen in front of him. "Commencing fire in…"

"Wait, something is approaching the castle!" Another frog operator alerted as an image was brought up on the main screen.

It was a giant, turquoise-skinned serpent-like creature with enormous bat-like wings flying upwards and straight toward the hovering castle. But this creature was not alone. Riding this beast was a humanoid wearing a dark purple robe with long white hair and a beard.

"I will signal the royal guard!" That same frog operator stated.

"Don't bother. It'll never break through our shields." A newt commander said.

The witch rode his mighty beast towards the castle as the creature opened its mouth and unleashed a blast of lightning. However, the electric blast didn't even touch the castle as a bright blue energy barrier became visible upon the blast's impact.

"A barrier of energy, hmm?" The witch rider commented. "You know what to do, Stormchaser." He told his stead, petting the side of its head.

The creature named Stormchaser gave an affirmative growl as it continued its flight toward the shielded castle. Though the shield prevented the beast and rider from getting any closer, Stormchaser had dug its claws into the barrier and opened its mouth to bite down into it. The spine on Stormchaser's back opened to reveal some kind of glowing membrane as bolts of energy shot outward from the shield and were drawn into the beast's membrane. This caused the energy of the barrier to flicker and shrink.

"Our shields are being drained!" A frog operator exclaimed.

"No! Impossible!" A newt commander also exclaimed.

"It's that creature! It's absorbing the energy from the shield!" Another frog stated as Aldrich glared at the unfolding scene on the screen in front of him.

The shields vanished as Stormchaser absorbed the last of the energy that made up the castle's protective barrier.

"Ever since you were born, you were able to absorb lightning from storms for nourishment. I see no reason why you could not do the same for whatever was protecting this fortress." The witch rider said as he patted his steed's head with a smile before glaring up at the topmost piece of the castle that was the cannon.

"That was the weapon that destroyed the Wing. Time to return the favor!" He declared.

Stormchaser opened its mouth once more to blast another lightning attack from its mouth. With no shield to protect it, the cannon was struck by the blast as a large chunk of it was then blown off in explosive fashion.

"The cannon is offline!" A frog operator reported with distress.

"Then how will we get back to Amphibia?!" Another frog questioned. "The cannon…"

"The cannon is only a means to channel the Box's power." Aldrich stated. "We'll use the Box itself to leave should it come to that. But for now, rally the royal guard. I will deal with this intruder myself."

The witch rider and his beloved Stormchaser flew towards a certain part of the castle, one that appeared to be a pathway that led to its inside. Once the beast landed, it was soon greeted by twenty royal guard Frobots, all of which were purple in color and armed with shields and lances. Stormchaser growled at them, but the witch rider had his attention focused on the figure that had stepped out, with the line of robots clearing the way for their king. Judging by the way these mechanical monstrosities appeared and the armor he wore, this large figure was probably the one in charge.

"You are the leader of this invasion?" The witch rider questioned.

"I am Aldrich, the king of Amphibia, the greatest empire in the multiverse." The tyrant king introduced. "And you are?"

"I am Yensid, I am the ruler of this Titan." The witch rider revealed. "I will say this only once. Your forces are on the verge of falling apart, and your fortress is vulnerable. You will leave here at once."

"I think not." Aldrich declared. "Your world has an abundance of power, and we will take it. Order your forces below to surrender and they will be spared."

Yensid glared. "Then it seems we have reached an impasse." He raised his hands as balls of fire appeared in each. "And there's only one way to resolve it." He slammed the fireballs together to create a much larger flame before blasting it at Aldrich.

Quickly pressing a button on the side of his pole, the axe blades began to glow as he sliced downward to slice the fireball in half, both halves flying past him before exploding on the stone walls behind him. The witch ruler and newt king glared hard at one another before the next move was made.

"Attack!" Aldrich ordered his royal guard Frobots, all of whom flew straight out towards Stormchaser just as Yensid leapt off his steed as it flew into the air before landing on the ground as Aldrich tried to charge at him, but his own hands glowed a bright yellow before larger magical constructs of his hands appeared, which he used to clap and catch the energy axe that Aldrich attempted to slice at him, both opponents glaring once more as they engaged in battle.

Stormchaser ascended briefly to blast more electricity from its mouth at the royal guard robots, destroying three, but the other seventeen flew quickly as they used their lances to slice at it as they flew past it. Stormchaser growled in annoyance as it spun its body around to slam its tail into two more robots and destroy them before moving towards the remaining fifteen as they regrouped to form a group charge in the air. Stormchaser opened his mouth to bite down and crush three robots, but most of the others quickly flew into swarm and grab Stormchaser around his face, leaving only two left to fly and slice at its wings with their lances. With the mighty beast being overwhelmed, it fell back towards the castle, slamming into its side.

Meanwhile, Yensid's body began to glow with a brilliant golden aura, hovering in the air and moving along the side of the castle as he threw out blasts of fire and lightning towards Aldrich, who ran and leapt in pursuit of his magic-wielding foe, moving with such speed and agility that seemed impossible for someone of his size and stature, to avoid most of the blasts, leaping from ledge to ledge before making it to a platform where Yensid currently was to try and bring his axe down onto him. But Yensid flew backwards to avoid the crushing blow, and once he had enough distance, the energy aura around him began to take form and shape of a massive bird twice as tall as Aldrich himself, the bird coated in golden flames and blasted itself at Aldrich.

The newt king brought up his free arm, a hexagon-shaped energy shield appearing to try and block the blast, but the resulting explosion was still powerful enough to blast Aldrich off the platform and into a garden at a lower portion of the castle. He didn't have much time to recover upon landing as Yensid appeared in a flash of light on the same platform and spun his hands in a green magic circle, which caused all the plants from the garden to grow and ensnare around Aldrich, pinning him to the ground as Yensid hovered in the air, spinning another magic circle, this time one that glowed a cyan blue, as a cluster of ice appeared above him, this time taking the form of a giant spear.

However, before Yensid could throw it, Aldrich used his right hand to press a button on the gauntlet of that limb to activate a protective energy barrier around his body that not only ripped away at his plant bindings, but even shattered the giant ice spear that Yensid had thrown. The bright flash of light forced Yensid to cover his eyes, and this left him open for Aldrich to quickly pick up his axe and swing it at him. On pure instinct, Yensid tried to from a barrier of ice around himself to act as a shield, but the force from the strike easily broke through it and sent the witch leader flying and crashing to a lower part of the castle.

Yensid recovered with a groan as he held his injured side but heard a familiar roar behind him and turned around in surprise to see Stormchaser still engaged in battle with the last ten royal guard Frobots, having just smashed another with its tail to leave only nine, but they quickly surrounded it in the air. Yensid noticed how its wings were damaged and was unable to fly at this moment, but then he quickly noticed that his own foe would soon be upon him as Aldrich leapt from ledge to ledge to get close to him.

"Stormchaser!" Yensid called to his steed, which drew the serpent-like beast's attention as Yensid pointed to the incoming Aldrich. The beast understood its rider's wishes and broke off from its engagement with the robots to slither past Yensid, who quickly ran to engage the royal guard Frobots, forming a fireball in one hand which he threw to destroy one robot just as Stormchaser appeared in front of the surprised Aldrich and opened its mouth to blast another lightning attack, which Aldrich tried to protect himself from with his hexagon energy shield, but was still blasted down regardless with Stormchaser leaping after him.

The last eight royal guard Frobots had Yensid surrounded on all sides, but he wasn't worried at all. They had their shields and lances ready, but Yensid clapped his hands together to cast a circular wave of magic energy to push them all back just before he slammed his hands into the ground to erect a barrier from the ground himself to shield him just as all eight Frobots lunged at him, their spears slamming into the stone barrier right before it exploded, blasting stone fragments that pretty much tore apart all eight robots in one blast. With all of that settled, Yensid quickly flew to try and make his way back to his beloved steed.

Aldrich found himself inside the open jaw of Stormchaser, the only thing that kept the large beast from biting down as Aldrich's hexagon energy shield on his arm, while he used his free arm to push up on it in a desperate attempt to keep the monster from biting. But Stormchaser just rammed its face and Aldrich's back into the side of the castle, which had already severely damaged Aldrich's armor. He hacked up some blood as he continued to struggle against the serpent-beast. However, he glanced to his right and saw that his axe was lying on a platform just below him, but he also saw a glow from deep inside the beast's throat, ready to unleash its electric breath attack again.

With a mighty roar of his own, Aldrich pushed his arms up to push up on Stormchaser's jaw, giving him just enough leeway to throw himself out just as the electric blast shot out and tore a hole along the side of the floating castle. Aldrich fell hard and landed on the ground, his axe just across from him. But he also heard the roar of the beast that was about to come down at him from above and behind… with no time to act, Aldrich reached for the pole of his axe and swung with all his might into the side of Stormchaser's face, knocking the beast down as well as leaving a deep bleeding gash just below its eye.

Yensid flew and arrived on the scene, but he was already too late…

Aldrich had stood over the down Stormchaser, raised his axe, and brought it down onto its head!

Stormchaser's reptilian eyes widened briefly before they closed forever.

Yensid felt his heart stop as his own eyes become round and circular. "Stormchaser…?" He remembered when the creature hatched from an egg when he was only a child and had raised it since. The flying, lightning-wielding, serpent, had been his closest companion his whole life. And now he was gone… all thanks to this tyrant who tried to steal his home from him.

With a roar of pure anguish, Yensid's body exploded in golden flames before he blasted like a meteor straight for the surprised Aldrich, blasting into him with the both rocketing into the very castle itself. They smashed through several walls and chambers before coming to a grueling stop inside one chamber in particular.

The newt king rolled across the ground before slamming into the wall on the other side and leaving an impact while Yensid also rolled a bit toward the center of the room where a single pedestal resided. He pushed himself up, using the pedestal as a means to support himself… but as he stood up… the old witch noticed what was on top of the pedestal.

It was a box. A rather small box that could probably fit on his hand, but it was ornamented with gold with the engravings of trees and a single frog on it. But what stood out the most were three gemstones embedded at the top of the box, one being pink, the other blue, and another green.

"What… what is this…?" The battle-weary witch wondered… right before Aldrich had rushed him, having drawn a knife from his person, and impaled him with it.

"Do not touch my treasure! You are not worthy of it!" The injured newt king glared hatefully at his enemy, just before Yensid fell to the ground, the color in his eyes fading as his life came to an end.

With the battle now over, all the adrenaline wearing off, Aldrich fell to his hands and knees, feeling his injured arm as he took the moment to collect his breath. This was, without question, the hardest battle he had ever fought. But now was not the time to recover…

"I must… get back to the fight… the war is not over…!" He pushed himself to his feet.

"Aldrich, enough."

The tyrant stopped with a gasp, glancing upward to his crown that had somehow managed to stay on his head during this whole fight and noticed an opening at the center, where a glowing red eye was gazing down at him.

"My master…" Aldrich muttered.

"You must recall your forces; we will retreat to Amphibia." The entity that Aldrich identified as his master ordered.

"Retreat!? But… my lord… I can still…!"

"Your forces are dwindling quickly, the castle is unshielded and vulnerable, and the Music Box has been exposed." The entity insisted. "We cannot risk it falling into unworthy hands. Return to Newtopia, with the knowledge we've gained from this experience, we'll plan our counterattack and return to the Demon Realm. This is your order and it is not up for debate."

Aldrich knew better than to question his master, as much as he hated to admit it, retreat was for the best. What a disgrace this was. The first newt king to retreat, even if it was out of necessity. He could only hope that his counterattack would be enough for his master to recognize him and be worthy of joining them… but that also depended on what kind of king his newborn son would grow into, but Aldrich would see to it that his son would meet those expectations. He would make certain of that.

Standing up with reluctance, Aldrich accessed a communication device in his armor's wrist. "Withdraw all remaining forces. We are retreating."

The Amphibia forces were all withdrawing from the battlefield, the remaining robots had already flown toward the castle as several dropships, all in the form of robotic beetles, flew towards the ground to allow the toad soldiers to enter.

One particular dropship was boarded by Gradina as she and a group of toads entered before it took off with the others.

"We're retreating?!" One toad questioned.

"The king's orders." A female toad answered with reluctance.

"We did lose a lot of robots and toads in that battle." Another toad pointed out.

"But we're warriors! We don't retreat!"

"It's a tactical retreat!" Gradina barked to stop any sort of argument from breaking out. "I don't like it either, but I've known King Aldrich for a long time. He is not only a great warrior himself, but also a strategic genius. I'm sure he has a plan for us to take this world, but we can't do that if we're all dead! So let us live to fight another day!"

That seemed to convince all her soldiers, but many were still not satisfied, not that she blamed them. Though there was one toad that noticed she had something in her arm, something small and wrapped in cloth.

"General, what is that you're holding?"

"It's nothing." She turned around to face the wall of the vessel so that they wouldn't see what it was that she had brought with them.

It wasn't long before all the remaining robots as well as the dropships containing the toad soldiers returned to the castle.

"All robots and toads are back. We're prepared to withdraw." A frog operator said from the control room.

"But sire, with the canon damaged, we can't channel the Box's energy to open a portal." A newt commander reported to his king.

"I am at the Box right now." Aldrich replied. "I will use its power manually to open a portal." He reached into his pocket to pull out a small key for the Music Box. Placing the key into the side and turning it, the box opened as a multi-colored beam shot out through the hole that had been made in Aldrich and Yensid's battle and outside.

Once it made its way to a certain distance from the ship, the beam expanded and opened an enormous portal that pulsated with blue, green, and pink energy. The flying castle then flew into the portal and retreated from this dimension and back to Amphibia.

However, right as they passed through the portal, Aldrich saw something within the vortex that bridged the two dimensions. Something unusual that he had never seen before.

It looked as if there was something moving within the vortex. It appeared to be at a distance at first, but it then appeared to be coming closer. This phenomenon appeared to be some kind of mass of glowing yellow energy, one that flew directly into the hole and into the chamber where Aldrich and the Music Box were.

The newt king backed away as he saw this mass take shape. It took the form of a creature that was unknown to Aldrich. A spiritual entity that only made up the upper body of a large being with long arms, enormous wings, and a horned skull. It gave a ghostly roar upon its appearance. Aldrich immediately drew his axe, ready to fight this entity… until said entity had its attention focused on the Music Box, specifically the three glowing gems on it.

Aldrich's eyes widened as he realized what was about to happen. "NO!" He tried to rush and grab the box, but it was too late. The entity threw its spiritual hand out to cast a bolt of yellow energy onto the stones, likely an attempt to destroy them.

But the second the bolt touched the glowing stones, a cluster of yellow, pink, green, and blue energy formed and mixed together right before it exploded in a flash of multi-colored light. This wave of mixed energies exploded out throughout the castle that was only half-way through the open portal as the portal itself also exploded in the same manner and spread out in all directions, well beyond the titanic corpse that the Amphibia forces had retreated from and had even spread across the surface of the entire planet.

King Aldrich's eyes slowly opened as he regained his bearings, no longer was he in the chamber with the Music Box, but in the castle's infirmary as frog healers tended to him. When he tried to pick himself up, a female frog was quick by his side.

"Your highness! Don't push yourself! You need rest!" She tried to tell him, only for him to brush her to the side as he stood up.

"Where is the Music Box?!" He demanded.

"Your majesty, right here." A male newt advisor had appeared before him and showed the Music Box to the newt king, who immediately took it to inspect it himself. "It's undamaged, I assure you. We inspected it ourselves." The newt advisor said.

"How did I get here? What happened?" Aldric questioned. "Are we back in Amphibia?"

"We have indeed returned to Newtopia, yes." The newt advisor confirmed. "However, something… happened as we passed through the portal. Some kind of energy fluctuation. We're currently repairing the castle, but once it's done, I feel we need to inspect the Music Box and…"

Aldrich raised his hand to stop him as the only the tyrant king heard something. Something coming from his crown which had lain on the table that was at the side of his bed. He quickly placed the crown back on his head as the red eye opened up briefly to give him some kind of message that only he can hear.

"I must go. Continue repairs on the castle. I will be with you shortly." Aldrich ordered as he left the infirmary, taking the Music Box with him, leaving the newt advisor and the frog medics confused and concerned.

As Aldrich walked through the castle hallways, he passed by a few windows to see that they had indeed returned to Newtopia, the technological metropolis that was the capital of Amphibia. Oh how it was beautiful, a result of generations of invasion and conquest that all but improved their society. Though Aldrich noticed how there was a crowd of civilians around the perimeter of the castle, with several royal guard Frobots and toad guards, keeping them at bay. No doubt they were concerned at the castle's damaged state as Frobot drones worked on repairing it. He'll have to make a public address about this, but first things first.

The king of Amphibia had walked to the lower most levels of his castle, to a place that was accessible to only the royal family. He remembered when his mother first took him down here, and while he was surprised and even somewhat fearful of what resided beneath the castle, he soon came to respect and admire it as the culmination of his family's legacy, and the very reason Amphibia rose to greatness, and he would continue to serve its cause so that their empire would indeed be the greatest in all the multiverse.

Aldrich came before a circular gate with a set of torches lining the sides. The red eye in his crown opened again once more before the gate itself opened, almost as if the crown itself had allowed him permission. Aldrich entered into a large laboratory like-chamber before he bowed, removing his crown and placing it gently on the ground.

"My master…"

Something then lowered itself to the ground, something much larger than Aldrich himself. It was a large black metallic sphere with several robotic tentacles built into its sides. But what stood out the most was a set of nine glowing red eyes, eight smaller eyes with four on each side, all surrounding one massive eye as it gazed down at its subject. This was the true ruler of Amphibia… The collection of this world's greatest minds, including the royal family, all of which were uploaded digitally into a unified conscious.

This was the Core.

"Aldrich." The Core spoke in a voice that was distorted, sounding like a mixture of countless others all digitized together. But the words did not come from the large mechanical body, but rather from the crown that it was connected to that allowed it to speak directly to its wearer, almost like telepathy.

"Our initial invasion may have failed, but I assure you that our counterattack…"

"The situation has become far more complicated." The Core interrupted, surprising Aldrich.

"How do you mean?"

"Observe." A single port opened at the very top of the Core's central unit and projected a three-dimensional hologram of a certain planet for the newt king to see. There was the continent of Amphibia, which was shaped like a lily pad and the surrounding ocean, but what caught Aldrich's attention was a rift of some kind surrounding the ocean to separate the general area from what appeared to be an entirely different ocean that was lined with several titanic skeletons in various positions. Several more of these rifts were seen stretching in various directions across the planet like a series of cracks, on one side of each crack was a piece of the world that Amphibia was a part of, and on the other was the world that was identified as the Demon Realm.

"Our planet and the Demon Realm have merged together." The Core revealed. "They now occupy the same time and space. Our drones have scouted the nearest energy rift that seems to separate our world from the other and anomalies are forming, as for whether or not we or they are able to cross them remains unknown at the moment."

"H-How is this possible…?" The shocked Aldrich muttered.

"Something interfered during our retreat." The Core explained, causing Aldrich to remember the spiritual entity that tried to attack the Music Box. "Whatever appeared before us had affected the Stones, the resulting conflict of inter-dimensional energies in the open portal caused a rift in space time that ultimately brought our worlds together."

"What of our moon?" Aldrich questioned. "Your projects aside… the ecological effects of our world without our moon…?!"

"Our moon was transported as well and appears to remain unharmed." The Core responded, causing Aldrich some form of relief. "However, as you know, the Demon Realm had a moon of its own, which has also been transported. Our conjoined two planet now has two moons, which could affect our now-shared eco-system. However, their planet, as you know, is far different from ours. Notably the boiling temperature of their oceans as well their weather, which could affect our own ecology just as ours could affect there's."

"So… what must we do then?" Aldrich asked his master.

"For now, repair the castle. Strengthen our defenses." The Core instructed. "Once that has done, we will continue monitoring these rifts and see how it can benefit or hinder us. Until such actions are decided, all further invasions are put on hold. Is the Music Box undamaged?"

"It and the Stones appear to be so." Aldrich pulled out the Music Box, which the Core took with its tentacles.

"We will assess the box and see if the Stones still possess their powers or have gained new abilities." The Core said.

"And how shall we inform our populace on this?" Aldrich asked. "Such a development could lead to a possible insurrection."

"Inform your council, for now." The Core answered. "We will aid you in addressing the citizens in this regard later. Focus on repairs. We must not remain vulnerable."

"Understood, my lord." Aldrich bowed before placing his crown back on his head and leaving the chamber.

Once he was out of his castle's basement and in the main hallway again, Aldrich was quickly approached by a newt advisor. "Sire! Sire!"

"What is it?" He questioned.

"General Gradina…. She has brought… something… an infant of the Demon Realm…!" The newt revealed, much to his king's surprise.

Aldrich was led to his throne room where the toad general was surrounded by several newt and frogs, and even a few toad soldiers, all of whom looked at what Gradina was holding with curiosity.

"What is it?" A toad questioned.

"An infant of some kind?" A newt wondered.

"It's kinda cute…" A frog observed as Gradina held the baby witch in her hands, the infant was wide awake and looked around its surroundings with curiosity.

Soon the crowd noticed Aldrich's presence and cleared away as the king appeared before his general, who looked more than a little nervous as he gazed down upon her with his yellow eyes, but he seemed more fixated on the cooing baby in her arms.

"You brought an infant witch into my castle. Explain your reasoning, General." Aldrich demanded.

"Your majesty… I did battle with a flying beast." Gradina informed her king. "But once I brought it down, we crashed into a house that was occupied by a mother and her child. The mother did not survive, but the child did."

"Obviously. But you still didn't answer my question. Why did you bring it here?" The newt king once again demanded.

Flinching slightly under his harsh tone, she answered him honestly. "As a mother myself… I could not simply leave a helpless baby to die! My own son was born just recently…!"

"As was mine, but in your position, I would have left the child myself." Aldrich told her. "I will overlook this lapse in judgement as you are my strongest general. But get rid of it."

Gradina gasped in shock. "Y-your highness…! I… I can't just…"

"I said get rid of…!" Aldrich however didn't get a chance to finish as the eye in his crown opened up and the Core gave him a telepathic message, causing him to lower his temper before he spoke again. "Leave. I will think on this."

Though a little bit surprised and concerned by this sudden shift in tone, the general and all the other present Amphibians followed their king's orders as they left the throne room, the doors closing behind and leaving the tyrant alone. Or so they thought.

Aldrich then appeared in a black void as the eyes of the Core appeared in front of him like a single mass and spoke to him directly.

"Keep the child, Aldrich."

"M-my lord…?" To say that he was surprised was an understatement. "I do not understand…"

"Having an infant witch under observation could be instrumental for us." The Core explained. "We can witness its development, learn more of its magic, find ways to counter the natural abilities of other magic users who occupy the Demon Ream. It will be a most fascinating specimen for study."

"Then why not simply dissect it?" Aldrich asked.

"Because it is the only one in our possession." The Core answered. "We do not know if we are to cross the rifts into the Demon Realm without any form of protection and acquire other specimens. Let the child grown and develop and we will observe it."

"As you command." The tyrant newt accepted as he returned to his throne room, his conversion with his lord and master coming to an end.

Gradina and the other Amphibians watched the closed doorway, awaiting for their king to summon them once more. As they did, the baby cooed in Gradina's arms as she rocked the infant slightly with a smile.

"So… is it a boy, or a girl?" One frog asked out of curiosity. "Or some other form of gender that only these magic users have."

"It is a girl." General Gradina answered.

"How do you know? I can't tell." The frog said.

"That is because you are not a parent." Gradina said for some form of humor.

But it all came to an end as the doors opened and Aldrich stepped out, his subjects bowing to him as they saw him while Gradina held the baby in her arms.

"The child will stay here in the castle." The king of Amphibia revealed much to the surprise of those who served him. "We will watch as it grows and develops and learn all we can of its magics."

The toad general felt a great deal of relief at that. "Thank you, your majesty." She smiled towards the witch baby, who cooed as she reached out to grab the toad's face. However, that smile faded as Aldrich reached out his hand and looked at her with a stern expression, silently demanding that he hand it over to her. Which she did with reluctance.

"This one is in our care, now. And it will prove to be of use to us." Aldrich said as he looked down at the baby in his hand with a sinister smile.

Done.

Now that was one hell of an opening, wouldn't you say? The forces of Amphibia tried to take over the Demon Realm, only to find that such a powerful realm is not so easily taken. Gradina, Yensid (points to those who get the reference), and the Stormchaser creature are all OCs of mine, and that Titan they did battle on is not the Boiling Isles Titan, nor is it the Titan the Titan Trappers are from, it is an entirely different skeleton. Expect some expansion on the Titans and the lore surrounding them later on in this story.

But, more importantly, in Amphibia's haste to retreat, something (you-know-what) had interfered and struck the Calamity Stones with its power, this resulted in the world of Amphibia merging with the Demon Realm and becoming one planet that now has two moons. You'll see how much of an impact this will have on the story going forward, but don't expect it for a long while.

We also have Aldrich now in possession of a baby witch girl to observe as she grows in his castle. Again, you will see the impact this has on the story later on, but I'm very eager to write it.

I can't tell you how excited I am to finally begin writing this! First, we got a bit of a prologue arc before we get to the main story, though I'm sure you'll all be very interested in seeing what unfolds there.

Welcome, one and all… "To the Owl House of Amphibia"!
