Chapter 1

It has been a year since she got stuck into some sort of a time lapse. The only thing she could remember was getting knock out and some how ending up in a place not in her time. The people were different, everything was different. Luckily, she found her way around working for their law enforcement in Paris. Allie was known as different and the modern girl. She made her way into the opera house meeting with the managers. They requested her to make sure all things would run accordingly. Her job was to make sure everyone stayed safe.

They found it quite interesting how a woman was as tough and could do things most woman didn't do. She dressed like the others wearing a nice light blue dress. Allie got use to them and the corsets that about took her air supply.

Everyone was on the stage rehearsing. The ballerina girls were practicing. Then the loud mouth woman started to sing. Her voice was almost unbearable to listen. Then something odd happened causing something to fall and everyone started panicking. Nor Andrea or Firmin let anyone know why Allie was there. She got up from sitting of to the side investigating the area.

All was quiet and she thought she noticed a dark figure moving. She followed it slowly watching it move in the dim area behind the stage.

The black figure was nothing more than a man. It was only Erik taunting the the woman he could stand hearing. He had a feeling he was being followed making himself blend more in the dark so she couldn't find him. His eyes were on her watching her every move. She was new and he knew everyone that was in this whole building. He wandered why a woman was even doing back there knowing she could get hurt if she wasn't careful.

"They hired me for this?" Allie said to herself. "You have got to be kidding me, guess this is my punishment I'm chasing mice."

Eric was curious on what her purpose was for being there. Then heard his Angel sing out in the front. When she finished, the managers introduced her to everyone saying that she was a family friend visiting. Erik knew better than believing what they were telling everyone.

"It was nothing just a rat," Allie spoke.

"A rat?" One of the men laughed.

"Nice singing by the way," Allie complimented Christine.

"Thank you, I have a good teacher," She said nicely.

There was something different about her. She didn't talk or act like the others. Erik stood in the dark hearing her talk. He watched her talking to Christine his Christine. She was quite beautiful but he knew were his heart was. Allie was escorted to her room she was staying in by one of many of the ballot girls.

"Thanks," she said nicely.

"There is a ghost here but he teaches Christine," The girl spoke.

"Thanks for letting me know." The girl was called to rehearsal leaving Allie in her room. There was a bed and a nice bathroom in it. There was a knock at the door with a woman carrying a vase of pink roses with a note.

"My dearest,

I miss you very much my friend.

William

Allie smiled to herself remembering her friend she met in Paris. He was very handsome and was the only one who had shown her around or talked to her.

Erik had finished his lesson with Christine allowing her to rest. His curiosity turned to the girl that was in the room next to her. Another knock at her door caused her to get up and answer it. "William," She recognized him hugging him.

He held her in his arms hugging her. "I missed you," he said hugging her.

She pulled back to look at him. "Thanks for the flowers, it's been so long since," Allie said not saying anything after that.

"I know, your different. You're not like any girl I've ever known, you've taken risks that could have gotten you killed. From the moment I met you, I realized I'm in love with you," he took her hand in his.

Allie took a deep breath not sure how to take it. "I can't, I'm not right for you. You couldn't keep up with me. I know I've maintained a reputation around here. I'm not going to risk it," Allie said concerned.

"You know I can," he looked at her with hurt in his eyes.

"You need someone that is not me. I may look innocent but I'm not. You and I both know this couldn't work. I'm sorry," Allie said feeling guilty.

William kissed her hand understanding leaving her alone in the room. In her defense she wasn't sure if she would be here any longer or what would happen. Erik was behind the wall listening. She sat on the bed feeling horrible that she let her friend go. Allie then got up starting to look around the room.

Erik watched her closely through the small mirror in the room. After hearing the conversation there was one thing Erik knew they had in common.

The rest of the day, Allie stayed in her room having plenty of visitors. The evening finally came and Christine was singing in front of the audience giving an amazing performance. Allie watched the people as they left. There were many young men smiling and nodding at her.

Allie moved to the hallways trying to blend in. Then out of no where there was a man frantic coming her direction. "Excuse me are you ok?" Allie asked him.

"He took her." The man said still frantic.

"Took her who?"

"Christine, I couldn't get in."

"Ok calm down, what is your name?" Allie asked him.

"Raoul." He said more calm.

"I promise you as soon as I see her I will let you know."

"Who are you miss?" Andre came up to Raoul.

"Hello sir, I shall explain." He guided him to his office shutting the door behind them.
