A/N: Hello and welcome back to another chapter in this story.

This chapter is not as long as the last one, but i hope you still like it. Also, once again, HowInMadeHowie helped me adding some more details and corrected some mistakes i made or did not describe it well enough.

Now, off with you and have fun reading this chapter. Until next time

The students found themselves back in the Great Hall after Dumbledore had told the head of houses what had happened in the corridor to the Gryffindor common room. And as the students waited to be informed why they had to leave their common rooms, and now the students were discussing their theories as to what the reason for them to be back in the Great Hall could be.

Dumbledore stood at the entrance of the Great Hall, watching the students if all of them were present before telling them what was going on. "If I may have your attention please? Thank you, now I imagine you are all wondering why I brought you back down to the Great Hall. We have an intruder inside the castle; who tried to break into the Gryffindor common room. He was not successful, but the staff will now search the castle in the hope that we can find the intruder and bring him to the authorities. For a safety measure, you will sleep in the Great hall tonight, watched by your Prefects and Head Boy and Head Girl, who will inform the staff immediately if there was something worrying happening. Now, sleep well." Dumbledore conjured sleeping bags for the students and left with the rest of the staff, as the students grabbed the sleeping bags and looked for a spot to lie down.

Harry soon found a spot in a corner, where he also could lean back on the wall, with the sleeping bag beside him ready to crawl into it. He then watched the other students, just in case he would be needed for something. He knew of course, thanks to Callie and her access to the security cameras that Sirius left the corridor the same way as he had arrived, but the cameras could not see from where exactly he entered the castle. He wondered how the fugitive had evaded the Dementors, as the students were told that the Dementors would patrol the borders off the school grounds.

While Harry thought about all the possibilities, he heard someone put another sleeping bag next to him with more coming. Harry looked down and saw Hermione, Daphne and Susan laying right next to him, while Luna, Ginny, Tracey and Daphne's sister Astoria laid down a bit further away from him.

Harry's brow raised as he looked down at all the girls around him. "Well, not that I am complaining or anything, but I am surprised that you all want to sleep right next to me. Is there a special reason?"

Harry looked over his friends, now noticing that even Neville and Hannah were close by, but far enough away so they had some privacy. Now thinking about that, he saw that many couples in this school now took advantage that they had seemingly free choice on who slept next to. Nothing inappropriately could happen of course with the Prefects and Head Boy and Head Girl walking around the Great Hall, but he heard some shuffling from the sleeping bags as those couples snuggled up.

Daphne unrolled her bag and slipped inside of it, before she turned towards Harry as she laid her head on her arm. "Well, is it not obvious? Beside the teachers, the Prefects and maybe some older students you are the best duelist in this school. So, if this intruder can somehow evade the teachers and come into the Great Hall, here beside you, is the safest place to be. But something is bothering me." She lowered her voice so only Harry could hear her, as she knew that his Witcher senses would pick it up. "Do you think it was Black?"

Harry nodded his head as if to agree to her logic about the sleeping arrangement, but Daphne could see that he was nodding to her inquiry that it was Black who broke into the castle.

She wanted to ask Sissi, but inside the Great Hall there was not much privacy to take out the matrix and ask her AI, so this way everything would still be kept a secret from the others.

Outside the Great Hall in the corridors, Dumbledore and John were walking together through the corridors, discussing what had happened earlier that evening. Thanks to Dumbledore's glasses the headmaster had watched it already thanks to Cortana, and was now in a corridor where they could talk in private. But in the headmaster's mind, he remembered the last time he had seen Sirius over 12 years ago.

Flashback:

Dumbledore apparated with the motorcycle he had grabbed the handle of, on the street where the flat Sirius had rented since he had finished school. He saw that there was a small light in the living room as well as some shadows moving around inside the flat through the windows. Dumbledore released his grip on the motorcycle and held his wand up, prepared to fight in case were some Death Eaters that had attacked the last of the Blacks that stood beside him. Opening the door slowly, he heard only one person moving around and looking for something. "Sirius, are you in there? It is me, Albus." He saw that something moved to the corridor from where he stood, as a shadow was projected on the opposite wall of the entrance to the living room.

Dumbledore heard Sirius's hoarse voice, telling him that this strong man had cried much and concluded that would lead to his own death. "Before I come out to see you Albus, tell me something now only you can know about me. Why did I leave my parents' home when I was 16?" Dumbledore saw how a wand was raised by the shadow.

"You left your parents' home because you did not want to marry a pureblood witch against her will and did not want to use magic so she would agree to marry you. Because of this, you fled the house and took refuge with your best friend, James Potter. Now, if that is all, I want to talk about what happened the night the Potters were killed." Dumbledore saw how the wand was lowered in the shadow and walked slowly towards the entrance of the living room, his hands held high. He knew that Sirius was a capable duelist and would attack as soon he would see something dangerous.

When Dumbledore turned around the corner of the entrance to the living room, he saw a defeated looking man now sitting in his chair, bloodshot eyes burning with the desire to avenge his friends. "What do you want, Albus? I am kind of busy right now."

"I came to return your motorcycle, the one you had lent to Hagrid so he could bring Harry to me. I know that Harry should be with you right now, as it was James's last wish, but I found some people who can protect him almost as well as I could personally. But I still have a question for you Sirius. How was it possible that Voldemort knew where to find the Potters? The last thing I know is that you were their Secret Keeper. I know that you would be the last man on this plane of existence who would betray his best friend and his family to their worst enemy, but I need to know." Dumbledore's voice was like steel, he did not betray the sorrow he felt for the deaths of the Potters or how much he patronized the man before him right now.

Sirius looked up to the old aged wizard, his desire for vengeance obvious in his eyes. "I know who did this, Albus. But this is my responsibility, and I will see that he will receive the punishment he deserves, even if it lands me in Azkaban. Now I want you to leave, I need to prepare and find him. Please take the motorcycle with you too, you can enlarge it so Hagrid can ride it comfortably to do his errands for you."

With that, Sirius turned away from Albus, showing him that he would not talk anymore for that day. Dumbledore just nodded and left the flat. Dumbledore soon realized Sirius may have lost his mind when he went after Peter Pettigrew in broad daylight. Dumbledore was not sure what to believe that Sirius would be so bold to attack Peter like that but he did remember what Sirius said about the one who did betray the Potters.

Flashback end

John was looking at the feeds for more time, now noticing how many blind spots he had inside and outside the castle. John's deep yet quiet voice broke Dumbledore's thoughts to have the old man to regard him. "Well, I am surprised that Black is an Animagus, turning into a black dog, ideal for stealth it seems. That is valuable information, headmaster. I assume that you didn't know about Black's little trick? Else you would have told us about it. My guess is that he achieved this during his time in Hogwarts, as afterwards he had not much time for the preparations and in Azkaban, it will be hard to get everything for it to work. And as you do not know anything about it, I presume that he had kept it a secret from almost everyone."

Dumbledore nodded, while stroking his beard. "Yes, I did not know about Black being an Animagus. But he was a good friend of Professor Lupin during their time here. I will ask him if he knows something about it at a later time. I must think about how to approach this without telling him that I know that Black is an Animagus"

John paused and thought of one question that has been on his mind since he watched the footage. "Something doesn't add up though. We know what time Black appeared in front of the portrait that guards the entrance to Gryffindor tower. He knew it was empty, so what or who was he after? It does not make sense to wait there for Harry." John frowned inside his helmet as this thought has been bothering him since he watched the footage for the first time.

Dumbledore hummed thoughtfully as he stroked his beard. "That, indeed, is the question isn't it? Perhaps we should keep a closer eye on Gryffindor tower as well I think. But we agree that he has vanished from the castle for now?" Seeing John nodding, Dumbledore left the corridor, while John was walking out another direction to do another sweep before returning to his office, and waited for another 15 minutes until he heard from the other teachers that they had searched their part of the castle and did not find any clue on where Black had gone. Dumbledore knew he could not tell them that he had sent them looking for no reason, but he had to make it appear that he did not know Black had long left the castle.

Triss and Snape came up from the stairs that lead to the dungeon and reported that Black was not down there.

"What should we do about the students? I assume that some would already be asleep. Should we leave them in the Great Hall?" Snape turned to Dumbledore with that question, as the headmaster would have the last say in that matter.

Dumbledore agreed to this thought and told the other teachers to go to sleep themselves. "I will ask Chief Wulf and Ms. Merigold to keep a watch outside the Great Hall just in case. This way, the students can all sleep peacefully and dream about a bright future."

Triss especially nodded tiredly, as she had not slept much the last few days. Watching out for the time when the full moon would rise in the sky and preparing all those classes for the students cut into her sleeping schedule. But she had agreed to observe Lupin during the cycles until she had deemed him worthy to become a Lycan, but until then she would just check, like today, that he had taken his Wolfsbane potion. But until now, Lupin only showed her that he would be worthy of that transformation.

Cortana, who was also listening in to their conversation through his glasses, acknowledged the headmaster's request and passed it onto John. Cortana already knew that Harry stood watch inside the Great Hall, according to Callie the Prefects and Head Boy and Girl thought he was just asleep, leaning against the wall.

The next morning, Harry, who managed to quietly slip into his sleeping bag and lay down between Hermione and Daphne, woke up to the sun shining through the ceiling and windows of the Great Hall. Just like in his dorm room the sun hit its rays right on his face. "Seriously, how does it do that?" Harry quietly grumbled as he lifted himself up on his arms and looked around the Great Hall. Hermione and Daphne both came closer to his side during the night and Susan was right next to Daphne, snoring a bit. Next to her was Astoria, snuggling with a small stuffed unicorn that she had gotten from her mother when she was younger. Luna was laid on her back next to Hermione and smiled, surely having a nice dream.

Hermione was stirring at his side, mumbling something about leaving her 5 more minutes of sleep. Harry looked down on her sleeping form with an amused smile as she finally opened her eyes and lifted her head up like Harry did. He now noticed how her hair was strewn in every direction, causing him to giggle a bit, at what Callie called, bed hair.

Daphne also stirred when she felt something move beside her and heard Harry giggle. When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was his emerald green eyes, or at least what his contacts emulated his natural eye color was. After she noticed how close she had slept next to him, she blushed and almost jumped up to her feet in the hope to hide it from him. Almost being keyword because Daphne, in her haste to jump up, forgot she was still inside her sleeping bag and nearly toppled over if not for Harry catching her, which had her blushing even more. Daphne mumbled a quiet thanks to Harry for catching her and as she turned to look over to her sister to check on her.

Soon, the teachers entered the Great Hall, telling the students that they could return to their common rooms and freshen up before breakfast. Hearing that, almost every student stood up immediately, the only ones who still laid on the ground were the close knit groups and a few couples; giving the others more time in the bathrooms they had to share.

Tracey was walking around and looking for any kind of gossip material she could use in the future, when she found Lavender and Parvati still sleeping in their sleeping bags, snuggled close to each other and both smiling. She thought about waking them up, but both looked so happy sleeping right next to each other, so Tracey left them alone. But even if they had no classes today, she soon found herself waking them up either way, because otherwise a teacher would not be so nice to them still sleeping.

Rubbing her eyes, Lavender sat up in her sleeping bag and yawned loudly enough for others to look at her. "Good morning. Merlin, this hard ground is surprisingly good to sleep on. When is breakfast?" Looking around she saw Tracey standing beside her and smiled. After some explanations about the time they had until breakfast would be served, Lavender stood up and waited until Parvati was ready too to go to their common room and freshen up.

Sometime later, the tables were placed in the Great Hall and the students enjoyed their breakfast. Harry heard many speculating about what had happened last night, and some theories were sounding pretty spot on. It seems that some students stayed awake and listened to everything that happened around them, so those students knew that the staff had searched the castle for Sirius after he had tried to break into Gryffindor common room.

Harry asked himself how fast the rumor mill in this school picked up the information to spread so quickly that it was Sirius that had slashed the Lady's portrait. Thinking about it, he turned towards Percy, who was sitting across from him for some reason. "Percy, as the Fat Lady cannot watch the entrance to our common Room for a while, will there be a substitute?"

Percy was paused in his eating of scrambled eggs and drinking coffee, as his sleep time was cut short because he had the duty as the Head Boy to uphold. "Ah yes, Headmaster Dumbledore has already arranged the placement of Sir Cadogan's portrait at the entrance to our common room. Not my first choice to be honest, but after what had happened last night, he was the only one who would take that job. Well, if you discounted Chief Wulf standing next to it and checking us all. But that would compromise his other duties, so the headmaster placed the portrait. But now we need to concentrate on today's activities, so eat up Harry."

As the day moved on like it was normal for a Sunday in this school, Harry noticed that some other students were looking at him with a similar look as they thought that he was the one who sent the basilisk on the other students last year, even if the attacks had stopped after Colin was petrified. It seems that it was now common knowledge that it was Sirius that had broken into the castle and was after him, that was the reason why Sirius had attacked the portrait as it did not want to let him through, at least that's the current rumor going around.

A week later, the first Quidditch match in the Quidditch Cup was upon Harry and the rest of the Gryffindor team. As they prepared themselves in the locker room, Harry noted that Oliver was becoming nervous once again. Harry tried to get him to calm down a bit, but Katie was ahead of him and whispered something into Oliver's ear; resulting in Oliver blushing bright red and Harry turning away to suppress a laugh. Who would have thought that Oliver was swayed by a promise to a kiss after the match, if Oliver would at least block 10 Quaffles thrown towards his goal posts before the snitch was caught.

Soon they were called out on the pitch, where the rain was falling on them hard. The seats around the pitch were still full of students and some scouts, but Harry ignored them all when he felt the wind picking up.

Harry felt that this game would be hard, even with his trusty Nimbus 2000 in his hands. The heavy rain would impede his sight enough that he really had to concentrate on his senses to see the small golden speck in the sky. The lightning and the accompanying thunder did not make his life any easier when he lifted off after Madam Hooch did blow her whistle to start the match, Gryffindor versus Slytherin.

Flying through the rain and wind, Harry was glad that he had at least glasses to keep the rain droplets out of his eyes while flying, as the speed he had to fly would have him squinting his eyes otherwise. Looking back to where he just was, he saw how Malfoy tried to stay on Harry, but his rival still had not mastered the broom his father had gifted the Slytherin team and as such he flew past him every time Harry made a sharp turn.

Harry grinned to himself as he thought of the problem at hand. 'I can work with that. Now, where is the snitch? I need to finish this match soon; it becomes dangerous when it gets darker as it is. Not that the darkness is an issue for me, but it's not me I'm worried about.'

Callie wanted to highlight the snitch for Harry right at the start of the game, as she had to agree with his assessment of the conditions and for the safety of his teammates it would be better if the match was finished sooner than normal. But Harry told her to wait at least for an hour, as otherwise it would be too suspicious that he had caught the snitch so fast.

As the match dragged on, with no team taking up a sizable lead, Harry decided to forgo the fairness and just wanted to ask Callie to show him where the snitch is, though as he thought that that's when he caught the glimpse of the golden ball just flying upwards towards the sky. Harry gave chase.

Unfortunately for Harry, Malfoy had seen Harry accelerating and used the higher speed of his broom to pass Harry when he also saw the snitch a few meters away. But just as Malfoy wanted to grab it, lightning flashed in front of him temporarily blinding him. and with that shock, Malfoy tumbled back to the ground, while Harry flew past him and after the snitch.

It was this moment where Harry felt the unnatural cold creeping up his legs, something he now knew was the sign that a Dementor was close by. But the intensity was much stronger since he killed one on the train, so there had to be more of them close by.

Harry pushed the numb feeling and the voice in his head away and pushed forward to catch the snitch and then fly towards the ground, hoping that the Dementors would let him go when they saw that he was a student. His blade was safe in his boot, but taking it out now to fight the Dementors would only cause unnecessary attention directed towards him.

When his hand clamped over the small golden ball and he was sure that it was secure inside his fist, Harry dove down towards the ground with great speed. Turning around to look behind him, he wishes he did not just do that.

At least 20 Dementors were on his tail, and Harry felt his strength leave his body. 'Why are they after me? Something about them is not right. But I am getting closer to the stands, and I am sure that Dumbledore and John already know that I am being chased down towards the ground. Thank you for that, Callie.'

He heard the voice of his partner, but he only registered a faint whisper from her before he lost consciousness.

In the stands, Hermione and Daphne saw Harry falling down from his broom and screamed in horror as they also saw the cloaked figures of the Dementors chasing his body.

Susan was ready to jump down the stairs to run up to Harry when he would hit the ground, but his body slowed down considerably and John ran over the pitch, taking his pistol out of his holster.

Jumping up to catch Harry, John aimed his pistol towards the Dementors and pulled the trigger three times. When three Dementors were pushed back, he allowed himself to look at Harry before grabbing the arm and pulled Harry to his chest.

Meanwhile, Dumbledore heard from Cortana that John had secured Harry, so he dropped the spell he had used to slow Harry's descent so John could grab him safely. Now, Dumbledore concentrated on the Dementors and raised his wand towards them. "Expecto Patronum!" A big, silvery bird erupted from Dumbledore's wand, just before a silvery cat and a silver wolf followed it towards the Dementors. Seeing that his own Patronus had some backup, Dumbledore stood up and addressed the Dementors with his booming voice. "I warned Fudge that this would happen, and now we will see if we also can kill a Dementor. Now return to your post or face the consequences." Though in Dumbledore's mind he was bluffing, he had hoped Harry's action on the train would give those foul creatures pause.

The Dementors retreated when they faced those three powerful Patroni, and soon the air was not feeling as cold as it was before. Looking down to the ground, Dumbledore saw that John was treating Harry on the ground with Hermione, Daphne and Susan running up to them. He sent another Patronus towards the hospital wing, so Madam Pomfrey would be ready for Harry to be brought to her. He just hoped that Harry really was just unconscious, but Cortana assured him that Callie had told her that the Dementors did not come close enough to hurt Harry in any way. Cortana thought to give Dumbledore something to smile about.

Cortana rarely would be a bit smug about such situations but she has gotten to enjoy Quidditch over the years. "If it helps Headmaster, Harry did catch the snitch. Callie reported that much. You'll find that he still has it held tightly in his hand." Dumbledore was a bit amused and did not have the heart to tell the teams in the air that the game was over.

The game was almost forgotten, but Malfoy was still searching for the snitch after he had caught himself tumbling down. He was sure that Potter could not have caught it so far up with the Dementors around, but when he saw the big brute opening Potter's hand, he saw that he was mistaken. Madam Hooch blew her whistle as soon as she had seen it too, but no students were interested that Gryffindor had once again won against Slytherin, but Malfoy still was angry at this humiliation. He promised himself that Potter would not beat him once more, whatever the cost.

The next thing Harry felt was on a soft bed and that his glasses were not on his face. He then heard a soft breathing next to him, and as he had fallen out the sky, he surmised that he was lying in the hospital wing. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was some blond hair as his head was tilted to his left. Daphne has fallen asleep in a chair, her hand resting on his side while he laid on the bed. Turning his head over to his other side, he saw that Hermione held his hand and was also asleep on a chair.

He then heard someone coming closer to the bed and saw Madam Pomfrey with a glass filled with water. "Ah, Mr Potter I see that you're awake. Headmaster Dumbledore will be happy to hear that. But to make sure that everything with you is as it should be, I would like to have you here over the night to watch out for something unusual."

She then woke up the two girls beside him, who both bolted up almost as fast as Harry could run. But seeing them smile also caused Harry to smile back at them, just as he heard the curtains around his bed being pulled back and Susan looking at him, relief obvious on her face.

Harry looked between the three girls and was feeling a bit frustrated at their silent relief, not even Callie was sure how to explain what happened.. "Okay, I'll bite, what had happened to me that you all look like I had died?"

Hermione was the first who was ready to explain to Harry what had happened after he had lost consciousness. The most devastating blow to Harry was that his broom was destroyed by the Whomping Willow, as when he had lost control over it, his Nimbus floated off towards the violent tree.

Seeing the Nimbus in pieces, he was just glad that it was not him that landed in the branches of said tree. Now he just needed to get a new broom, he would ask Oliver for a suggestion as long it did not break his bank, not that this would be possible for a while, he should be able to buy a new one.

On the evening of the next day, Harry noticed that his medallion was vibrating when he was near Scabbers, as Ron had taken up the habit to carry his rat in his pocket after Crookshanks had tried to hunt the rat. Said cat was purring right now on Hermione's lap as she petted him after doing her homework. When Ron asked her if she could help him with his homework, she just asked in turn if he apologized to Daphne and Tracey for what had happened during their Hogsmeade visit.

Harry shook his head at Ron's silence, but Harry was pulled out of his thoughts by Fred and George, who asked him if he could accompany them for a short while. As Harry was already finished with his homework, he agreed and walked out the common room behind the twins to an empty classroom. "Alright you two, what is this about?" Harry looked between the two pranksters with a raised brow.

Fred, after having made sure that they were alone, closed the door and cast a privacy charm on it and turned around to look at Harry. "Ah you see Harrykins, George and I had a thought. We have something that would be beneficial for you and your safety, seeing that Black could just walk into the castle and knock on our common room door. It also works to get to know this castle better, as this tool we will give you is a map of Hogwarts." Fred gave Harry an old looking parchment, which the younger teen took and looked it over. Even with Callie's scans and his senses, he could not see what should be so special about this parchment.

Harry let out a deep breath and spoke with only the slightest hint of annoyance in his voice. "Alright, I'll bite, what kind of joke is that? I just see a blank piece of parchment."

George looked at him with a curious gaze and shook his head in mock exasperation. "Do you really think that we would risk your or the safety of others for a simple prank? What you are holding right now is the key to our success. As we have told you before, this 'blank piece of parchment' contains the map of Hogwarts, with something special mixed in between. To activate it, you just must put your wand on it and say, 'I solemnly swear I am up to no good'. Just like that."

Fred placed his wand on the parchment as he had described it, and as soon as he had said the words, from its tip erupted black lines on the parchment.

As the ink formed something resembling a map, the first thing Harry saw was that those lines also formed some words.

"Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, Purveyors of Aids to Magical Mischief-Makers are proud to present: THE MARAUDER'S MAP."

Something about these names stirred something inside Harry, but he could not place it in his memories. And as Callie had not been with him since his birth, she could not help him why the names did sound so familiar.

Fred cleared his throat to get the attention back to him. "Now you see Harrykins, this map is a true wonderous kit of magic. Whoever those Marauders were, they had to be powerful wizards to enchant this piece of parchment with something like that you see now. It not only shows every corridor in Hogwarts in great detail, when you look at the room we are in right now you see what we mean."

Harry looked down at the map again and saw what Fred had meant. In the classroom they were now, on the map he could see their names displayed on the parchment.

Callie had to contact Cortana to tell her of this item and put up a livestream from Harry's glasses so her sister could see everything for now. Both Smart AIs were buzzing about this discovery and Callie could not contain her excitement. "Harry, we must bring this item to John. If he has this map, finding Black the next time he enters the castle should be a piece of cake." Harry had to agree with his partner, but something was still bothering him.

"Fred, George, is there a possibility that you could search for a name on this map?" Harry laid the map back on the desk, looking for something that caused his uneasiness. Something was calling him on this map, but until he could see it, he had to search on the map.

George looked at Fred, who just shrugged his shoulders. "To be honest Harry, we never had used the map to look for someone. We just looked if Filch, Wulf or a teacher was close by before we would pull a prank. But now that you mention it, it may have that function. If you want to see if Black is still inside the castle, you can try it with something like, 'Show me Sirius Black'? Maybe it works. But before you do that, we must go back to the common room now. Before we leave, we want to show you how you turn the map back to a blank old parchment. For that, just place your wand again on the map and say, 'Mischief managed' and then the lines vanish again. Now off we must go, see you later Harrykins."

Harry looked up from the map with a curious look on his face. "One last thing Fred, how did you and your brother find out how that map worked?"

At Harry's question, Fred and George turned around before they head reached the door with a smile on their faces.

"Ah Harry, we cannot tell you all our secrets now, can we?" Fred grinned.

George continued. "How else should we evade you in the future when you would become a Prefect?" George shook his head in mock sadness as the very idea of Harry as a Prefect disappointed him.

Fred shook his head and wagged his finger in mock warning. "With that training of yours you could keep up with us all day long." With a laugh they opened the door and left Harry alone in the empty classroom.

Harry sighed, telling Callie to contact Cortana and by proxy John, Harry had to discuss something with them. Not even 5 minutes later, John walked through the door of the classroom while Harry watched the map so no one else would come to that impromptu meeting. After John had closed the door and Harry used the same privacy charm the twins had used before, Harry began to explain the situation.

John sighed and shook his head annoyed with himself. "At least now I know why I never caught those two pranksters when I do my sweeps. This map appears to be tied into the wards though." John examined the map closely noting the secret passages in and out of Hogwarts.

A few minutes later, Callie had asked Harry to stand next to the map on the desk, so she and Cortana could use the better sensors from his glasses to scan the map while it was active. "Well, that is a good tool for the future. Now how about we try the search part? Maybe it really works how Fred Weasley had suggested."

Harry placed his wand on the map and told it to show him Dumbledore, but the map did not react in any way.

Cortana materialized and walked over the map in her holographic form. "Well, it was worth a shot. Oh look at that, Gryffindor common room is here. Even Harry's dorm…wait." She looked closer to the dorm and the name that was shown there. "Well…isn't that interesting. Riddle me this, why is there a dead man alive in Harry's dorm and how has nobody noticed him?"

John and Harry looked to where Cortana was standing and saw a name that should not be on the map.

Harry blinked in confusion. "Peter Pettigrew?"

John had a thoughtful look. "I think we just found out why Black was trying to get into Gryffindor tower on Halloween."
