When looking through the eyes of the green soul of kindness, I noted that there were 2 very important things to note. One, she was a legal loli that had stopped growing around age 5, meaning she looked like a 5 year old, even at age 20. And two, she was named Olive. Why was the latter point important? It was the name of the green soul in a project called Undertale Green. Which was only a proof of concept around the time I'd been sent into this future world.
Regardless, I was surprised to see that she'd came before the purple soul and, due to her super small appearance and her wearing a pair of fox ears, a phony fox tail, and always painting whiskers on her face, she was able to fool everyone by saying she was a halfling of human and monster. And when they asked how that was possible?
"There are still monsters on the surface, but they're harder to come across than humans. We only come from one place, that being the islands of Hawaii," she explained... and shockingly, it was 100 percent truthful! The fact that monsters were actually on the surface was shocking enough, but when looking in her head, it stated that monsters were actually able to make halfbreeds with humans, though that's where the genes would stick with. It'd only go to halfbreeding and all children after that generation would be either human or monster, and then the cycle would repeat itself.
Regardless, after duping the monsters for almost an entire 2 years and working at the UTT Resort as a restaurant worker for those whole 2 years, she then got a mysterious customer. One that she looked at with unease because of how powerful she heard him to be. It was Gaster... and he looked at her with a smile, though it was a sad one.
"I so badly want to ask if you'd like to take my order... but we both know how this ends, young one," Gaster said, which Olive then whimpered and shook in place.
"I'm not scared of you or any monster. I'd never hurt a fly, and I'm a full-grown adult," she said with concern in her voice, which Gaster frowned at.
"Indeed, I have heard the tall tales that you spin. How monsters exist on the surface and can make halfbreeds. But those were lies, weren't they?" Gaster frowned as he then pulled out his Gaster Blaster.
"I admit that I lied about me being a halfbreed... but I wasn't lying about monsters still being on the surface. They really do exist in Hawaii and the US, in perfect harmony with the humans, too! They started as a lesser class, but we're all chummy now. I'm being honest here," Olive said as Gaster then armed the Blaster.
"Any last words?" he asked with a frown.
"If the king wants to destroy all the humans on the surface... by achieving the powers of a god... not all monsters will be by his side. There are over 10,00 monsters on the surface, and over 15,000 halflings. What's to say he won't kill his own kind if they disagree with his plans? And if you don't believe me, here," Olive said as she then threw her phone over to Gaster. Not just any phone, though. A phone that was brought from the surface. And when Gaster looked at how it was opened on the pictures, he then gawked at the sights... the humans on the surface were with monsters and halflings, some being of monster species that he thought to be long extinct.
"I... I see... I apologize, though... even if it were truth, I am loyal to my king... it's nothing personal... just know that it'll hurt me... even more than it'll hurt you," Gaster said as some black tears fell from his eyesockets and he sent a laserblast at Olive before she could dodge out of the way, causing her to get turned into a melted pile of dead human and for her soul to then exit the body... Gaster then collected it as the monsters got in an uproar.
"What was that noise?!" asked one of them, it being Susie, the brutish reptile from Deltarune. But in this world, she was in much more skimpy and cute attire, which made me surprised.
"It was me doing another crime... but this time... I feel shameful..." Gaster said as I then saw the sight for myself. He got his whistle out and blew into it, getting none other than Ceroba to arrive, her looking at Gaster in surprise, especially with the green soul in hand.
"What the?... A green soul? B-But how?" she asked.
"The supposed halfling that has been in this restaurant... was a human all along... I need you to take her to the king, both soul and body..." Gaster sighed to her.
"But why ask me to do it? Why don't you go?" Ceroba asked.
"I have business to attend to at the CORE... please, if you'll excuse me," Gaster sighed as he then moved towards the CORE... and, on the way, soul of Olive tried to speak to get him to stop. Why? Because she saw it in his eyes. The look of someone who was giving up.
"NO! Stop him! He's going to kill himself! Please, I beg of you, stop him from going in there!" Olive tried to shout... but nobody could hear her. She was then placed into the soul containment pod and the vision ended as the CORE started to grind from the death of Gaster.
After this vision happened, I did NOT expect to see the next part at all. But when it happened, it shocked everyone in our group. Not only did Olive reform in front of us in her tiny body, but at the same time, another person had appeared that shocked every one of us. Gaster had appeared in body, soul, and mind in front of us, him being just as black and white as before, but his outfit was completely in its formal black and white labcoat, which made everyone gasp when he arrived.
"Whoa! What?! Gaster?! You actually brought him back?!" Chara asked in shock as Gaster then looked around and then at me.
"You... you saw my last moments, did you not?" Gaster asked, but this time, without the creepy voice as before. And he was completely solid instead of partially liquid like in most of his appearances.
"I uh... I did... it must've been a very important memory... I never expected you to do that, though..." I admitted, him sighing after as Olive looked at me and my group of humans and monsters before seeing where she was.
"Whoa... d-did you actually revive me?" she asked, me nodding at the tiny lady. "I thank you greatly... I've been stuck in limbo for forever, it seems... how long have I been out of it?" she asked.
"The exact date of you and Gaster's death was, according to the calendar in that vision, September 19th, 1804X. And as for today, it is May 20th, 2024X," I said, knowing that much from the date that appeared on the phone Toriel gave me.
"I see... I knew that I wouldn't be able to see my family and friends again and that I was risking everything with that bogus story that I was a halfling... but Gaster, you were different. You saw right through it..." Olive said with a sigh.
"And for that day, I greatly apologize... I don't know how I can ever make it up to you..." Gaster sighed.
"Well, how about, for starters, you go and visit Sans and Papyrus back in Snowdin? They'll be ecstatic to see you again," I smirked, him nodding at me... before noticing something on my person.
"Before that, may I ask about those strings on your person?" he asked, pointing out the things that I hadn't mentioned to anyone for quite awhile. Spamton's spectral strings.
"Oh, these? They belong to a certain salesman that I partially freed from his old code. He's been behaving, I guarantee that much," I smiled, that being 100 percent true. He'd actually managed to get a job at Hotland's MTT Resort and was in charge of selling items alongside Burgerpants. And he was actually also teaching some skills of acting to Burgerpants so he could get a bit of gumption in him.
"Be wary of Darkners, that's all I'll say. Those are creatures that are born in the Void, who then escape to the world of dreams. And this Darkner seems to require someone to rely on with his strings," he warned, me nodding at him.
"Trust me, I'm wary of him too. When we first met, he wanted to kill us. But after I reattached his body to mine with some special soul string, he not only stopped being a glitchy mess, but he's now much more sane than beforehand," I smirked.
"Indeed... I'll get on my way, then. Thanks again," Gaster said as he was then about to head off... before we then heard something from nearby. The sounds of a song being played. Which one was it?
"~Bouncy, bouncy, happy flouncy!
Lovin', lovin', this sensation!
Always, always, goin' our way!
Heartbeat, poundin, situation!~" sung a duo of Shyren and Shyster, them singing from nearby, and us hearing them from afar.
"Was that... Did you save the test subjects, too? And not in their combined forms, but separating them?" the doctor asked, me smirking at him.
"Indeed, I did," I smirked as the duo of fish girls then sung the next part.
"~My heart was jumpin'. Pumpin'. Steppin'.
Always, avoidin'! Bein' broken!
This is my, chance now! I've prepared, my pride!
It's wadded up and tossed aside!
I'm jumpin' in. Here I come!~" the fish girls sung. As for the song? Happy Sensation from Ape Escape 3, English version.
"Let's go find them and see how they're doing," Chara smirked in her accent. And why? Because Flowey was still close by. Shocking that he had yet to make a move now that there were 7 humans in the same room. Regardless, as we moved out, Flowey then stayed put and, after the compass stopped going off, he then started to burrow closer, which made the compass go off again... and I noted that he was staying as far away as possible without having the compass go off.
"Hmm... strange..." I frowned as we moved through the mushroom room, me leading our group towards the singing. And it was coming from the best place in the Underground.
"What is?" Mary asked... and then, we got our answer when a trio of Temmies appeared in front of us, them looking to be exactly the same aside from the fact that they wore different clothes.
"Hoi! I'm Temmie!" said the first one before the other two spoke.
"Emma, remember what we agreed on?" asked the other one, me being surprised at how they weren't talking weird.
"Oooh... fine... hi, I'm Emma. And you're aboot to enter Temmie Village," Emma said in as normal a way as she could.
"Uh... nice to meet you. Are Shyren and Shyster in the village, too?" I asked.
"Oh, yes! They're performing a song for us. They're so coot an' shoi!" said the third one before she then cleared her throat. "A-Ahem... sorry, I still have the urges," she smirked.
But I was just dumbfounded. Did those Temmie kittens manage to convince everyone of the Temmie population to give up being silly all the time?
"I think it worked a bit too well," Courage smiled at me in a whisper... before two people in our group started to sneeze.
"ACHOO!" Fizz sneezed out loud. As for the other.
"CHEEEEW! Sorry, I'm allergic to Temmies," said Clover, me smiling at that.
"I wonder if I'm allergic," Olive asked as she then touched the one Temmie. And immediately regretted it, as her hand became full of hives.
"Ack! Itchy!" she gawked as she started to itch her hive-infested hand.
"Most humans are allergic to Temmies by touch. It's probably how Gaster found out you weren't a halfling," I smiled, that making Olive gasp.
"Oh yeah, that's right! About three days before Gaster happened to discover me, I served food to a table full of Temmies and I got very itchy afterwards. I just assumed it was because I was stressed from working, but now I know the real reason... ugh... itchy," Olive frowned as she itched her hand harder.
"Maybe we should get you something to treat the hives. Anyone got anti-itch ointment?" I asked, the one to provide it being Martlet.
"A Royal Guard member is always prepared, even if they've been retired for over a century," Martlet giggled. As we then went into Temmie Village with Olive placing the ointment on her hands, we then saw that the two fishy sisters were actually singing their duet with Napstablook working a boombox, which made me smile at the sight.
"Are you guys enjoying the performance?" Shyster asked with a small smile, which all the Temmies cheered after... before Shyster and Shyren then noticed my group.
'O-Oh! It's you again!" Shyren smiled as she swam over to me, her then swimming up to me and literally jumping into my arms for a hug. "I can't believe you kept your promise! I can finally sing with my sister again! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!" she smiled widely, which Fizz then smiled as his nose ran.
"Shyren's gratitude levels seem to exceed 100 percent. Chance of possible kissing increased by 50 percent," Fizz said, which made Shyren blush after as she got bashful, same with me.
"Uh... thanks for making it awkward, Fizz," I frowned at him as Shyren then swam out of my arms, as it wasn't that tight of a hug.
"I uh... they're right though... no one has ever treated me as nice as you before... but why is the purple soul with you? I thought I heard about them getting killed," Shyren asked.
"The exact same reasoning as to why your sister's up and about. Scarlet's Knowledge soul," Antoinette smirked.
"Amazing!" said none other than Bob as he emerged, me knowing it was Bob as he had an aristocratic voice as opposed to the other Temmies, who were still talking in a cute way, but not weird. "I'd heard of legends of those with a soul of Knowledge. How they could do insane feats of strength, durability, and could even perform miracles like reforming people from beyond the grave as they once were, solving insanely dangerous health conditions, and being able to give emotions to anything that doesn't usually feel that many emotion," he said, the last one really, REALLY piquing my interest, same with Chara's.
"Wait... wait... you say it gives emotion to things that don't have it? D-Does that also include sentience? Or just emotion? Or is it just giving objects without souls emotions?" Chara asked in her accent. And as for Bob's response?
"Some creatures on the surface, from what I heard from newspapers I find at the dump, are born without much emotion, as they have souls of grey. They usually consist of little to no power and having no emotion, but still trudging through life as if they were a zombie. But when near a person with a Knowledge soul, all the emotion they were without can be restored, allowing them to be a rainbow soul. And those with Rainbow Souls are known to be super generous and kind, hoping to share joy and happiness to any they meet, never knowing a negative emotion!"
After this speech, it made more sense as to why Flowey was following me from afar, me seeing him from afar in the distance... and seeing he was making a note with his leaves and roots, hoping that I wouldn't see him. I did, though, but he didn't notice and neither did anyone else. "Do you think it could also work for any kind of sentient life... that doesn't have a soul of their own? Like, say, someone running on pure Determination and nothing else?" I asked, which Bob frowned at and thought for a bit.
"You know, I've never considered that factoid... but I suppose anything could be possible. Are you saying you may know of someone who might fit that bill?" he asked, me frowning at that and deciding to lie.
"I think I might, but I don't know who it might be," I spoke in a fib, which Antoinette frowned at as I then noticed a trio of smaller Temmies that were all smiles when they saw me.
"Oh! It's the cute human!" said Temsa, me remembering their names, but seeing that they had changed their appearance slightly since I last saw them, with the trio now wearing shirts that were different stripe colors. Temsa wore yellow and pink, Tommie wore red and blue, and Tessie was wearing black and yellow.
"We told everyone about how Tem history isn't real, and we even did something they were shocked by. We read the history book itself," Tommie explained.
"And it wasn't even a history book. It was a picture book with cats and dragons. Not Temmies," Tessie smirked with a small giggle.
"Why am I not surprised?" Martlet asked with a chuckle.
"We have something for you, too, we helped pitch in our money to buy it," Temsa smirked as she then pulled out of her bag... the Temmie Armor. But when I saw it, I saw that it was made of solid steel and painted gold! "It was thought to be the armor of a dragon, but it's actually much better. It belonged to a human that was seen as the only one to fight for the monsters' side during the war! It's got the powers of a Rainbow soul in it, like mister Bob was talking about!"
And when I heard that, I was very interested and held the armor in hand... and felt it. A ton of power emanating from the armor... it felt so... surreal... I had a feeling it would be the best chance I could get to get Flowey to become his old self again!
"Thanks a bunch for this, kids! I'll cherish it forever and put it on immediately," I smiled as I then placed it over my shirt and... felt stupid. It was actually a bit heavy for my tiny body, but that was to be expected. But I also looked like a huge tool with a golden-painted suit of armor. And the giggles from the other humans and the Shy sisters were confirmation. "Yeah, yeah, I know, I look silly, I know. Get your yucks out now," I smiled as Antoinette went to me and pecked me on the cheek.
"Don't worry, Scarlet. I think you look like a knight in shining armor," she smiled at me.
"I think it looks tacky, but shiny at the same time," Olive smiled as she then went to me and held my hand. "So... are you already in a relationship with the blue soul?" she asked, me then looking at Antoinette and her blushing.
"Um... yeah, I am... why do you ask?" I asked her.
"I wanted to ask... in case you wanted to have more than one girlfriend?" Olive smiled, me blushing at that. It was... a very difficult question to answer. One, because the fact that Olive looked like a toddler in terms of height and appearance... but two, she was asking to share a relationship like polygamy.
"Um... I uh... isn't it supposed to be two people only? Or is that also something that has changed over time?" I asked, her smirking at me.
"Humans have a lot of problems since the big radiation explosion in the past, Scarlet. If we do have kids, they tend to have a 50/50 shot of having the chance to survive to adulthood. And that's why halfbreeds have been more common on the surface. Because humans and monsters' kids have a higher chance of survival, same with them having kids after. And it'll keep getting better with more children of interspecies."
"I... I see... um... you want in on this, Shyren?" I smiled, which Shyren smirked as she swam over to me and gave me a smooch on the lips... it felt very good, but a little wet, too.
"That's your answer, sweetie... I'm gonna keep practicing my singing with my sister. We want to sing a song when you break that barrier," she smirked, me nodding at that.
"Very well, keep it up. And I'll make sure we can all three have some alone time when we get to the surface... but I must ask if anyone happens to know my body's age for real?" I asked, which Antoinette looked at me with a smirk.
"Mmhmm. I see. Your body is 23 years old, but it's legal loli status means I had to look at other things, such as your arms, legs, and chest. If a boy is a legal loli, then he'll have more defined muscles as he gets older and have chest hair," she explained.
"It's so weird hearing that term and hearing it being described as something that's a part of natural society... ugh... in my time, lolicon wasn't legal, it was basically... um... adult stuff involving kids. Disgusting stuff," I frowned.
"And we have ways of finding out if you have a certain age on the surface. And we have a lot more rules in place, too," Clover spoke up. "Even before I fell down 'ere, I had to git a tracker in my body when I turned 5, same with everyone who grows up on the surface with the new rules. If ya'll commit a crime with that tracker in ya, yer gonna git found an' you'll git punished. An' if ya'll try an' git the tracker out of ya, that's impossible, as it's a liquid tracker in yer bloodstream. No harm done to who gits it, it'll make ya glow in the dark an' make yer blood turn green in color if yer a criminal on the run. I fell down 'ere in the first place 'cuz I was escapin' one such criminal," Clover explained.
"Wow... didn't know the surface had changed so much since I was born," Chara sighed, but not in her accent. Why? Because, while Clover spoke, Flowey got bored and burrowed away.
"Wait, where'd your accent go? It sounds less Russian and more English," Olive asked her.
"I need to use that accent whenever a certain creature is nearby... he's a flower with no soul and is alive through Determination... that's why I was asking about those things involving determination and knowledge souls... he'd want us super-duper dead if he found out my true identity," Chara sighed.
"I see... I think I know who you are, then... Toriel kicked me out when I asked about a photo that I found in her storage room," Olive admitted.
"Whoa, Tori kicked you out? Hard to believe, since she treated me like I were her own kid. But then I asked to go home... and she tried to keep me there. That's when I offered to go out in a monster disguise. And it didn't last long, since Gaster found me out... he still hasn't apologized to me for that," Mary frowned. And afterwards?
"That's because it wasn't me who did that," said Gaster's voice, him now being behind us alongside Sans, who was smiling with a couple tears coming from his eyes.
"thanks, kid. i'm forever grateful for you rescuin' my uncle," Sans smiled.
"But wait... then who was the one that killed Mary? Because her vision stated it looked exactly like Gaster," Olive asked in confusion.
"That would be a different monster. A shapeshifter from another dimension known as the Dark World," Gaster said, me looking at him in confusion. A shapeshifter? I didn't know of this! "An evil creature that killed poor Mary and plotted to steal her soul so he could rule over all of television. His name was Mike," Gaster said. And when he said that? I heard another voice.
"mike?... YOU KNOW WHERE MIKE IS?!" asked none other than Spamton as he immediately flew right back to us, his speed being unheard of! And his sudden appearance actually spooked a lot of us, myself included! "Where's Mike?! I need to give him a piece of my mind!" Spamton said as he got in Gaster's face.
"I apologize, but I've already seen to it that his mind has been broken apart piece by piece," Gaster said, that making me confused. "I accidentally summoned him from an experiment I conducted and he tried to take my form to take a human soul. I watched from afar and only stepped in after he hurt Noelle Holiday. I grabbed him with my telekinesis when he got out of their sight and broke his mind into multiple different fractures and scattered them across the Underverse," Gaster explained, that also piquing my interest.
"Underverse? You mean there are other versions?" I asked him in utter confusion.
"Yes, but I'd rather not go into it, as it's been too much information for one day... all I will say is that Mike will never come back. 1000 pieces of his mind scattered across the Underverse. And there is 1 in each that has one, there being countless, millions upon billions of them," Gaster smiled.
"I... I see... but then why did you still take me back to the king? Surely you must've known I was just a kid wanting to go home to my family, right?" Mary frowned at him.
"Unfortunately, there would only be one way for a human to go past the barrier. If you absorbed a monster soul from a boss monster. And if you include myself, there are only 3 such monsters in the Underground, those being the King and Queen," he frowned, which made me sigh.
"Or the other option, which is to destroy the barrier outright. But that's gonna be a challenge, even for 8 humans attacking all at once. We need to time our attacks to happen at the exact same time. Even a single nanosecond too slow could probably negate said attack. Sure, we'd have infinite tries to do it, but it'd still be an annoying crutch to rely on," I frowned.
"And I can only use my time stopping strength about 3 times a day. After the third time, I need a full 24 hours of rest," Chara said, me nodding at her as we then looked at the Shy fish and they simply started to hum another song.
"I think this has been enough of a detour. Let's get going back to Alphys's place. Maybe she can upgrade my phone and give new ones to the others?" I asked, which Clover smiled at.
"A new phone, eh? I hope it has stuff like music on it I can play. I used to have my own harmonica, but I lost it during my trek through the Steamworks," Clover smiled.
"Indeed. Let's get going... and by the way, Sans?" I said, getting the small skeleton's attention. "I want to ask if you, Gaster, and Alphys can work together to do something for me. To find a way to get me back in my original body instead of this tiny one," I said, Sans smirking and shaking his head no.
"not gonna happen. we don't even know what your old body looks like in the slightest or where its resting place could be at. gaster just sent your spirit and conscious mind into this fresh body after it fell down, since it was dead before it fell underground. no clue why, though," he said, me being surprised. This version of Frisk died before falling Underground? I looked at myself in a reflection of a nearby mirror and sighed.
"I understand... I guess I'll just have to get used to being in a legal loli body for the rest of my life... and being in a relationship with a fish girl and two human girls, with one being a little person and the other an even littler legal loli," I sighed.
"Believe you me, it's hard for me just as much as it is for you, if not worse, since you look to be 12 and I stopped growing at age 5! Olive pouted.
"Let's uh, just get back to the lab, why don't we?" Martlet smirked, us then nodding and getting to go on the way to Alphys's lab... and Spamton stayed behind to talk to the Temmies.
"So... do you little kitties wanna see some of my wares?" I heard him ask as I walked off, a small chuckle coming from my mouth. Once a salesman, always a salesman.
