Hi again!
Here we are, chapter 2!
Losing motivation to write unfortunately. Legit, I'm just writing about a ship nobody talks about. But oh well, I love these two cuties so much, so here I am.
I am supposed to be working on Chapter 2 of Why We Fight...but I feel more motivated to write AzuLeo.
WARNING: A LOT. OF. SMOOCHING. If you're disgusted by this, I highly recommend not reading this fanfic. Sorry :(
Anyway, anything I get wrong or stuff I can improve on, let me know in the comments. I appreciate each and every one of you reading my work, even though it's not perfect, or even well written.

Sunlight peeked into the small guest room. It was a rather tranquil morning.
Lying on the queen-sized bed was the blonde German, holding his Peruvian coffee-loving girlfriend in his arms on a peaceful Saturday morning.
Throughout the night, Azucena sleep talked. A LOT. She mumbled about how comfy and warm Leo was. Leo was completely unbothered, as hearing his girlfriend's adorable mumbling put his mind at ease and cleared his stress from work.
He doesn't say it enough.
He enjoys Azucena's presence.
Holding her in his arms gave him a bliss he had never felt from anybody else. She had the scent (and taste!) of a freshly brewed coffee, warm and bittersweet. Moreover, her hair was so soft. He could run his fingers across it and never be unsatisfied. He loved it when she digs her head deeper into his neck, so he could feel her smooth hair and skin.
Cuddling his crush (now girlfriend!) in bed was like a dream come true. He wished he could cuddle her forever.
Leo was happily relaxing with Azucena in his arms, until Azucena woke up. She looked up to see Leo still sleeping with a relaxed face. She giggled because of how cute he was and decided to wake him up with a few surprise kisses.
Azucena tried moving her body up to reach his face to no avail due to his tight grip. She could only manage to graze his chin with her lips. She tried again, but barely managed to reach his lips.
Leo was awoken by these mini kisses and looked down to see that Azucena was awake. She seemed to be a little bothered that she was figured out, but smiled either way.
"Good morning, Leo!"
"(yawn) Good morning. Were you trying to kiss me there?"
"Aww, you caught me..." Azucena pouted.
Leo laughed in response. He gave Azucena a kiss on the forehead.
"Hmph. No fair...you kiss me without warning!"
"Hahaha...you're so cute when you're mad, Azu."
Azucena puffed her cheeks and looked away from Leo, clearly blushing. Leo continued to laugh and smile at her. After a few seconds, she turned back to look at him.
"Okay then...what happened to the pet names? I want to be called cutie pie again~"
"G-GAH?!"
Leo turned into a strawberry again. Now it was Azucena's turn to laugh. He clearly remembered that he called Azucena a cutie pie before they slept.
"I- uh..."
"Oh come on...please? Call me your cutie pie~"
Azucena pressed her body against his and continued to pout cutely. Leo grew more flustered with how adorably needy she was.
"A-Azu..."
"Not gonna cut it. Hmph...!"
"O-okay, okay!...You can stop trying to choke me..."
Leo took a deep breath.
"...my c-cutie pie." Leo looked away in embarrassment.
"Hehehe, that's better~"
Azucena finally reached his height and pressed her cheek against his while wrapping her arms around his neck. Leo finally turned around to face Azucena.
The two were extremely close. Their heads were resting on each other, and they could feel each other's breaths. Leo giggled as Azucena gave him a cheeky grin and rubbed her forehead against his.
"You're so ticklish..."
"Hehehe~"
Leo smiled as Azucena's fingers began to run through his blonde hair. Leo decided to return this gesture by lifting up his left hand from her hip and running his fingers through her soft, dark brown hair. The both of them giggled at their matching gestures.
They stared at each other with loving gazes. Azucena fell in love with Leo's ocean blue eyes, and Leo got lost in Azucena's grey-blue eyes.
"You're so beautiful..." Leo declared, as he pulled Azucena closer.
"Leo..." Azucena's face grew warmer.
Leo closed his eyes and gently pressed his lips against hers. Azucena closed her eyes in response.
They shared a few soft kisses as Leo continued to hold her tighter. When Leo pulled away to catch his breath, Azucena proceeded to return the kiss. Leo couldn't help but kiss her more. The soft pecking then turned into long, passionate kisses.
"Mmmuphh..mhm...Leo..."
"Huff...muuhhh...Azu..."
The two pulled away again to catch their breath. Leo and Azucena continued to smile.
"Leo...I love you."
"I love you even more, my sweet cutie pie."
"You're so...! Hmph!"
"So adorable? Maybe more than you?" Leo taunted.
"Why you..." Azucena tighten her grip around Leo's neck.
"Kiss me again," Azucena demanded.
"You haven't had enough?"
"Oh, just kiss me already, Leo!"
"Okay, sugar cube..."
"Okay, excessive pet names are getting out of hand! Just come here!" Azucena pulled him close.
Leo and Azucena spent another couple of minutes passionately kissing in bed. Neither of them wanted to stop. They had never felt so comfortable around each other before. Each kiss they shared became even sweeter.
After some time spent kissing his lovely girlfriend, Leo pulled away to catch his breath and patted her head.
"Okay, we should probably go and have some breakfast now..."
Azucena ignored him and kissed him again.
"I don't wanna stop..."
"Mmumph...Azu...come on..."
Despite Leo's pleading in between kisses, Azucena didn't stop.
"C-come on, Azu...we can't have our morning coffee if we stay in bed."
The moment she heard "morning coffee," Azucena finally stopped kissing him. Leo was slightly bummed he couldn't kiss Azucena anymore, but nevertheless, they couldn't stay in bed forever.
"Okay! Let's have coffee!"
The couple got out of bed and prepared coffee. As the less experienced coffee brewer, Leo asked Azucena to make their coffee. As expected, it always tasted great, with sweet and bitter nodes along with a unique aroma that woke him up.
"This is some great coffee, Azu. Thanks!"
"You're welcome! It's the same blend I make every morning for my family."
"They must have a good morning every day if this is what you're making for them."
"You're so sweet."
After their breakfast, Azucena and Leo prepared for the day. After Azucena's bath, Leo offered to comb her hair and blow dry it. Her hair was so smooth. He could play with it forever.
They changed into some civilian outfits and prepared to go out. Leo wore a black jacket with red strings, collar, and belts along with a white t-shirt underneath. He also wore dark blue jeans and black and white sneakers. To store important things and to finish the look, he brought his satchel bag.
Azucena entered the living room to see Leo's outfit.
"Someone's dressed nicely! Hehehe."
Azucena was wearing something unique from what she usually wears. She was wearing a simple light pink dress with short sleeves that reached just slightly below her knees and was also decorated with an embroidery of Madonna lilies. For footwear she wore some white sandals decorated with a pink flower, and to finish her look her hair was tied with two braids fixed together at the back. She then brought a summer hat to hide her face from the public eye.
Leo stared at her for a full minute. He was stunned at how such a simple look was beautiful on her. She really did look good in whatever outfit she was in. He was so fixated on how beautiful she was, Azucena had to pinch his cheek.
"Earth to my blonde cinnamon roll!"
"U-uh?!"
Azucena giggled at how funny Leo was. "You're so silly. You keep staring at me. Is there something on my face?"
Leo sheepishly rubbed his head. "No, it's not that there's something on your face, it's just that..."
"Just that...what? The suspense is killing me!" Azucena approaches Leo and tugs on his shirt. Leo's face only grew warmer as he couldn't look away from her.
"...It's just that I don't get how you're so beautiful!"
Now it was Azucena's turn to blush. Leo's so sweet. The dark brown-haired Peruvian couldn't help but dig her head into his shirt to hide her blushing face from her silly, blonde, German boyfriend. This caused Leo to laugh.
"Aww, why are you so embarrassed? Seriously, you're so cute when you're like that." Leo continued to laugh as he stroked Azucena's head and patted her back. Azucena could only look up at him and pout angrily (and cutely!).
"But, I really mean it though. You look beautiful."
"Oh, Leo...thanks!"
After last minute checking that they had everything they needed, the two lovebirds headed out to explore the wonders of Peru together. While walking through the already crowded streets, Azucena tapped Leo on the shoulder.
"Are you alright, Azu? What's up?" Leo noticed Azucena looked a bit distressed. Was it the crowds? Or some inner worry? Nevertheless, he was concerned.
"Oh, nothing. I just...wanted to hold your hand is all."
Azucena's voice still sounded distressed despite the fact she was smiling, but Leo learnt his lesson from last time and wouldn't force it, so he simply gave her a smile.
"Sure! I was kinda thinking the same thing. Here." Leo stretched out his hand for Azucena to hold. Azucena happily placed her hand in his, and the two intertwined their fingers. They continued to walk this way to the bus stop. Leo couldn't help but wear a huge smile as he held hands with his girlfriend.
The entire time, Leo's palm was sweaty. Azucena could feel it. It was either the heat, or Leo was nervous. Azucena looked up at him.
"Your hand's...kinda sweaty, Leo."
"W-wha?!" Leo blushed madly. "S-sorry."
"I-It's fine..." Azucena looked away, clearly flustered. She proceeded to adjust her hat so that people had a hard time seeing her face.
Realising there was a big crowd of tourists and townsfolk alike at the bus stop, Leo dug into his satchel bag and took out a pair of sunglasses that his father Niklas gave him. Before approaching the crowd, Leo pulled Azucena near to him.
"L-Leo?!" Azucena was shocked by this sudden move. Her face grew more red every second.
"Sorry about that. I just wanted you to put these on." Leo showed her the sunglasses and began placing it on her face. "There's a lot of people here...best you use these to hide your face more and to protect your eyes from the sun."
"Leo..." Azucena looked away from him. "I think this is too...much."
"I'm just worried about you."
"Leo, I..."
"There, that should do it. Can you see?"
"Y-yeah."
"Alright. Just hold my hand."
They held hands again and somehow found a place to sit and wait for the bus.
The bus finally arrived, and after a few hours, the couple found themselves at the Colca Canyon. The view and the formations were quite splendid. Leo took a few pictures on his mini camera. Azucena kept hopping near him to see the photos.
"Did you take some good ones? Lemme see...!"
Leo was getting a little dizzy from how much Azucena was shaking him, so he finally checked the photos in the camera and showed it to her.
"Here you go...I think they turned out pretty nice."
"You're right!"
Azucena and Leo took a breath of fresh air and continued to admire the splendid view. After a few minutes, Leo took out his camera and pulled Azucena beside him.
"Azu, do you want to take a selfie?"
Azucena was surprised by his sudden grab, but she was happy that Leo asked for a selfie. She gave a nod of approval and a huge smile, then Leo pointed the camera at the both of them and the scenery.
"Okay...say cheese!"
"Cheese!"
A few clicks were heard from the mini camera, and Azucena huddled near Leo to see the selfies.
"You're so good at taking photos! Send me one!" Azucena pleaded, as she gently squeezed Leo's arm.
"Alright. I'm glad you like them."
"These are my favourite photos, because they were taken with my amazing boyfriend!"
Leo couldn't help but smile at how sweet his girlfriend was. He pulled her into an embrace without saying a word.
"Leo..."
"I don't think I say it enough." Leo took a deep breath and held her close. "You're an amazing girlfriend, and I'm so happy you're a part of my life."
"Leo..." Azucena slowly leaned into him. "Really...?"
"Yes...really."
Azucena looked up at Leo. Much to Leo's surprise and horror, Azucena was frowning.
"Azu...are you okay? Are you uncomfortable with what I said?"
"I..."
Azucena stuttered. Every time her mouth opened, nothing came out. Azucena ended up looking away and trying to make some space between her and Leo.
Leo deducted that something was bothering Azucena. Nevertheless, he knew he had to be patient with her. Leo gently placed his hand on her cheek, and tilted her head to face him.
"Azu, if you can't say what's bothering you, it's okay. I understand. It's not easy opening up, so I won't force you." Leo gave Azucena a head pat. "Whenever you're ready to open up, just come to me. I'm always willing to listen to your problems. That's what friends do."
"Leo..." Azucena finally breathed a sigh of relief and fell back into Leo's embrace.
"Thank you."
Time passes by as the two continued to explore Peru's many tourist attractions like museums and ruins, and after a lot of touring and selfie taking, Leo and Azucena were walking back to the Ortiz farm, ready to rest at the comfort of Azucena's home.
As they walked the narrow road, neither of them spoke. Leo looked at Azucena and noticed that she still seemed a bit unhappy. Today she wasn't as energetic and cheerful as she usually is, and she only got excited when she talked to him or showed him something cool.
Seeing Azucena frown was making Leo frown. He couldn't stand seeing her like this. Without being aware of how Azucena could feel, he tightened his hand around hers.
"Ow...! Leo, could you loosen your hand?"
Azucena's sudden plea startled Leo. Realising he had hurt her, he quickly let go of her hand.
"I'm so sorry!" Leo shouted, as he gently patted Azucena's hand to try and soothe the pain.
"It's okay, it's okay!"
Leo was now visibly distressed. Clearly, trying to be patient with Azucena's feelings was an impossible task. He wants her to smile, but he doesn't want her to fake it. To not worry Azucena, he shook his head and gave her a smile. However, this doesn't seem to help at all, as Azucena noticed his distressed expression and began to look even more dismayed, much to Leo's horror.
"You're not hurt...are you?"
"I'm fine, Leo. Don't be so worried about lil old me."
"I can't help but worry, though!" Leo yelled. He grabbed the hand that he squeezed and held it close to his face, surprising the Peruvian in front of him.
"Where's the pain? The fingers? Your palm?"
Leo kept pressing different parts of Azucena's hand and asking her about where the pain could be. Azucena tried to talk back, but ultimately, she could only nod and shake her head at his questions. Finally, after Leo reached her wrist, she spoke up.
"Leo..."
Leo finally stopped looking at her hand and faced Azucena when he heard his name come out of her mouth in a rather quiet voice. He gave a look of concern.
"I'm alright. There isn't pain anywhere in my hand. I really appreciate you looking out for me, Leo. I really do." Azucena approached Leo and gave him a peck on the lips. Leo held his mouth in shock.
"But Leo, hear me out...I really do want to open up to you. It's just that..."
Azucena cleared her throat and tried to continue her sentence, but nothing came out. Leo continued to be patient and waited for her to speak. Seeing Leo's patience and willingness to hear her out, Azucena kept taking deep breaths and opened her mouth to speak.
Her father was never like this to her. Unlike him, Leo was patient, always heard her out, helped her with her problems and opening up, cared about her feelings, and showed her the meaning of true love.
She was completely expecting Leo to get angry with her, just like her father did, but she was wrong.
Leo just smiled.
Now she wanted to cry so badly.
"I...I..." Azucena was on the verge of tears. Unable to open up, she rubbed her hair in frustration and covered her eyes with her hands.
"I can't...I can't!" She continued to yell over and over as silent sobs could be heard. Leo immediately noticed her state of agitation and pulled her into a tight hug. Azucena wrapped her arms around him tightly and had the freedom to cry on his shoulder as much as she needed.
"Nghhh...! Agh...I'm sorry! Please...don't be mad..." She muttered.
Those words were a result of her trauma from all of her father's stern lectures and harsh scolding. She wanted to let go and focus on her love for Leo, but the chain of the past was still tightly locked around her. Even in Leo's arms, she didn't feel free from her father's loud and booming voice.
After she said those words, Leo looked at her with a face that was a mixture of pity, pain, anger, and horror.
"Oh, sugar cube..." Leo whispered as he wiped a stray tear from Azucena's face. "What's wrong...? How did we get here? What happened? It's okay...you can tell me...I'm here for you." Azucena only sobbed in response.
Leo looked as though he was holding back tears. Leo took a deep breath and pulled Azucena's head close to his face. As Azucena felt his heavy breathing on her face, she wrapped her arms around Leo's neck and stared at his deep blue eyes. Leo shut his eyes and leaned on her forehead, and Azucena eventually followed and also closed her eyes.
There was no one who could disturb this moment of peace and comfort between the couple. The only thing on their minds were each other.
Leo took the initiative and pulled her into a kiss. His tears finally flowed out of his eyes as he pressed his lips on Azucena's with the deep desire to give her all the comfort she could ever need. Azucena felt it and basked in his loving embrace as she passionately returned the kiss.
"Mmm..."
"Mumph...mmm..."
Their lips temporarily pulled apart as Leo gave Azucena time to breathe. Azucena saw his tears leaking out and wiped them.
"Huff...Leo...I love you. I really..."
"I know..." Leo kissed her again. "Don't worry. I'll never leave your side. I love you too."
"You...love someone like me?"
"Of course."
"Leo..."
"Azu...can I kiss you more?"
"Yes...please do...I need you, Leo. Please...
Hearing Azucena's response, Leo pressed his lips on hers again and the two continued to kiss. Leo wanted to comfort Azucena and make her the happiest woman she could be, and Azucena wanted to really feel Leo's comfort and forget about the pain from her past.
"Mmmmm...! Mmmph!"
"Mumph...mmmm...! Huhhh..."
Leo pressed her to a wall and deepened the kiss. It seemed as though neither of them wanted to stop. As he continued to enjoy the taste of coffee in Azucena's mouth, Azucena only tightened her grip on Leo's neck.
After a long while of smooching, they finally pulled their lips apart.
"Huff...that feels MUCH better...thank you, Leo!" Azucena leaned on his shoulder with a huge smile on her face. Leo smiled in response.
"I'm so happy that you're alright." Leo patted her back and laid soft kisses on her forehead. "Shall we go back now, cutie pie?"
"Alright! Let's go, cinnamon roll."
As they laughed at each other's pet names, they intertwined fingers once more and walked together.
Even though the sting of the past hurts Azucena to this day, she can still be happy because she knows that she has an amazing boyfriend to confide in. The blonde German in front of her was more than just her boyfriend.
He was her hope...
...and now, she'll never let go of him. Ever.

YAHOO, finally done! Sorry this chapter took so long. The time I finished this, I am still in Bintan, Indonesia, so I've been busy spending some needed time with my family.
Thank you all for reading this Azu-focused chapter! All these short chapters will go a long way to developing their relationship. This might be one of my longest multi-chapter fics yet.
