Volume 1 Finale Part 2:
Within the sky infested with Grimms, a Wyvern approaches the hacked airship that is in the hands of Roman and Neo. On the back of the Wyvern without notice, was Ruby Rose as she silently uses her semblance to land on top of the ship. A Griffon also lands at the same time and spots Ruby which it charges to; Only to be slayed by her easily. She heard a camera snap from behind and noticed it was Neo who sent the photo to Roman with the caption, "Guess Who" which angered the criminal.
Roman: Oh, you can NOT be serious!
He grabs his weapon and walks up to the top of the airship to end this once and for all. Back at Beacon's dining hall, Blake moved back a bit from seeing Adam looking back at her with a grim smirk.
Adam: Running away again? Is that what you've become, my love? A coward?
Blake: Why are you doing this?
Adam: You and I were going to change the world, remember? We were destined to light the fires of revolution! Consider this... the spark. *Pulls out my sword and prepares to kill a student*
Just as he was going to land the final blow, Blake speeds to him, drawing her sword as both weapons clash with each other. The student gets up and runs away as the two former lovers stand with their blades locked.
Blake: I'm... not... running.
Adam: You... will. *Kicks her away aggressively and walks to her* But not before you suffer for your betrayal, my love.
Back in Beacon grounds, other huntsmen and huntresses work together in getting civilians out of there while fighting any oncoming threats. One Griffon landed in front of Neptune and Sun who were getting a mother and child out and causing the four to all fall to the ground and the creature slowly walked to the mother and child. A ray of blast goes through the Griffon killing it completely as the duo turn around to see Dalek Khan.
Sun: Big time save Bro!
Dalek Khan: DO NOT CALL ME THAT! Get them out of here, there is an evacuation zone 5 minutes from here. *Spots a White Fang and stuns them* RUN!
Neptune and Sun helped the mother and child as they followed Khan's orders to the evacuation zone. More Grimms approached Dalek Khan as he reverts his gun from stun to kill and begins to exterminate every Grimm in his way. Throughout the city, more students continued the Doctor's plan in getting civilians out there as cameras were recording the events unfolding for the other kingdoms to watch. With the speech from the Doctor and the action that is taking place, other civilians soon began helping with the evacuation while students and professionals began to fight the Grimms. This was the hope the Time Lord referred to because he knew tonight was their loss but doing something right and necessary would do much more and heal.
Nora: LOOK OUT!
While others have continued getting people to safety, some have focused on fighting off the Grimms back on main campus where Weiss, JNR, and other students stood their ground. It became concerning with JNR as Pyrrha left without saying anything to them and they were very worried.
Ren: This is getting real bad!
Coco: Well, I guess now's a better time than any. Velvet!
Velvet: Really? *Gets excited*
Coco: Just make them count.
Weiss: What are you doing!? She's going to get hurt!
Coco: Just watch.
Velvet holds her hand out as Anesidora glows, forming a copy of Crescent Rose as she leaps into the air, dodging cannon fire just like Ruby would and slashing at the Paladin. She then creates a copy of Myrtenaster to block the Paladin's punch and land a a couple of blows before firing it back with an Ember Celica copy. After landing a few shots, she slides under the Paladin's fist, now creates a Gambol Shroud copy and uses its string to trip over the mech, before converting a copy of The Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver and finishing it with a laser beam. However, the device and noise it made became too familiar to Weiss as her head began to hurt again and white flashes with noises began to come to her mind.
Coco: VELVET!
Her mind came to a stop and Weiss came back to Remnant as she saw Velvet get thrown by the Paladin. Not wasting more time, she charges towards in between the Paladin and Coco and Velvet not knowing what'll happen but hoping it gives the duo time to run. As she closes her eyes, she feels a thud from the ground and looks up to see a duplicate of the arm and sword of the Arma Gigas but instead of white like her usual, it was gold as it crushed and destroys the Paladin before disappearing. Weiss looked at her hand and Myrtenaster as Velvet gets another pic for the books. A loud screech is heard from the sky as everyone looks up to see a titanic Wyvern flying around. Things went from worse to a nightmare before being caught against another Paladin but this time more advanced.
Sun: You've got to be kidding me!
But the Paladin would be destroyed into pieces in front of everyone by Dalek Khan once again. A breather for everyone but Weiss looked at the Dalek in confusion feeling like she'd seen it before.
Neptune: Two saves in a row. We owe you big time buddy.
Dalek Khan: There is a group of civilians on the roof of a small building and the Grimms are crawling to them. YOU MUST HURRY AND SAVE THEM!
Coco: Got it! Let's move!
Velvet: Wait! Where's the Doctor!
Dalek Khan: He is handling the Grimms and evacuation on the other side of town. GO!
Weiss let out a small yelp of pain as her head hurt once again hearing Dalek's voice and the name Doctor. She couldn't see anything but hear familiar voices. Dalek Khan knew this was a mistake since he did not expect Weiss to be a part of the group. It was a risk, but the situation was growing, and they needed to have people everywhere.
Dalek Khan: NORA! REN! SUN! Stay here with Weiss and patrol for any survivors! I will continue patrolling other areas nearby.
Sun: Got it! Cmon Weiss!
With Yang, she was handling a few Grimms but mostly White Fang members. While she held her ground, it was soon becoming out of hand with more appearing. Taking a deep breath, she continued to fight until a sudden pulse extinguished the Grimms to nothing. She looked to where it came from and it was him, The Doctor. He joined in on the fight as the duo teamed up on taking down White Fang members while others would retreat to other areas until they were caught by Atlas soldiers.
Yang: *hugs him tight* You came!
The Doctor: *sighs and hugs back* I thought this was supposed to be a normal tournament.
Yang: Change of plans. Have you heard from the others? Ruby?
The Doctor: I told her to meet up with you, Blake, and Weiss. I did not know everyone was separated.
Yang: Crap! How long ago was this?
The Doctor: 15 minutes ago.
Yang: Okay, maybe there's a chance she's with them. I talked to Blake first and she said she wasn't there with them.
The Doctor: There's no time. Go find them and help the Civilians get to safety. Leave the Grimms to Khan and I.
Yang: *nods* Gotcha! *runs*
The Doctor: YANG!
Yang: *stops and looks at him* What happened?
The Doctor: Please be careful...
Yang: *nods and winks* You too Doc! *Runs off* They're going to regret messing with you now.
The Doctor hoped that by helping Vale, by saving as many people as he could, things could change, and what he had been told would not happen. He noticed the Grimms looking at him and slowly backing away.
The Doctor: You want a storm. I'll give you one. I'll start with this.
He released another pulse from his screwdriver that led to all power and electricity going down. That also resulted in all the robotic soldiers. Yang continued running towards the main campus where she spotted the others who remained behind fighting Grimm. They all were drained and hurt but she saw only Weiss was here which worried her.
Sun: That was...easy than expected?
Yang: Weiss! You're okay! Have you heard from Ruby?
Weiss: *shakes my head*
Yang: What about Blake?
Weiss: *pants* She went after an Alpha... *points in the direction Blake ran* and some members of the White Fang.
Yang: You look for Ruby. I'll meet up with Blake. Then we all meet up here!
Weiss nodded, trying to catch her breath. Ren and Nora get a message from Coco messaging that some students in closer areas still need help in evacuation of remaining civilians.
Ren: It seems just a few more places are left with civilians. Let's head out and take them to the evacuation zone.
Sun: Copy that!
Everyone ran except for Weiss who was semi-conscious as Grimms slowly began to surround her. She looked to see that no one was around, and she was the only one left. She was drained, hurt, and alone. She slowly raises her sword ready to confront them all, but her head once again hurts but now it's worse. Falling on her knees, she holds her head as she gets quick flashes of things she's never seen before, but she has: TARDIS, Dalek Khan, her grandfather, Vine Weiss, her mother, Elentear, Weeping Angels.
Weiss: MY HEAD! GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT!
The last thing she sees is a hand holding hers before she screams and lets out a golden pulse, killing all the Grimms that surrounded her and knocking out any White Fang members nearby. Not that far, The Doctor hears the scream and watches the golden pulse in shock.
The Doctor: Weiss...WEISS! *Runs to her direction*
The pulse disappeared as Weiss's eyes glowed gold for a moment as she slowly loses consciousness and falls on the ground. Everything was fading to black, her vision becoming blurry, she looked up to the sky and said her final words before going lights out.
Weiss: Doctor...*closes eyes*
Their fight continued in the dining hall, but Adam was much stronger and faster, and with Blake's fear it was soon becoming a one-sided fight. She was afraid and losing any hope. She turned her sword into her gun and blasted two bullets at him, only for Adam to block them.
Adam: This could've been our day! Can't you see that!?
Blake: I never wanted this! I wanted equality! I wanted peace!
Adam: What you want is impossible! *Slaps Blake to the ground* But I understand because all I want is you, Blake. And as I set out upon this world and deliver the justice mankind so greatly deserves, I will make it my mission to destroy everything you love.
Yang: Blake! Where are you!?
A voice that caught both the attention of Blake and Adam which was bad. Yang notices a White Fang member charging at her until she strikes him first. Blake wanted to shout for Yang to run but she couldn't. Adam noticed and gave Blake a grim smirk.
Adam: Starting with her.
Back at the airship, Ruby and Neo continue their battle as both girls give it their everything. One to stop the enemy, the other to kill. Ruby has Neo at a target spot and shoots from Crescent Rose only for Neo to shatter and have Roman appear, shooting at Ruby which sends her flying back but making a stop with her weapon. That Neo was simply an illusion.
Roman: Little Red, little Red, you are just determined to be the hero of Vale, aren't ya?
Ruby: What are you doing!? Without these ships, the Grimm will destroy everything! No
Roman: That's the plan!
Roman shoots once again from his Melodic Cudgel only for Ruby to dodge it and go right at him and returns a few shots as well. She's taken off by a sudden attack from Neo which led to a 2 on 1 fight. Both partners got a chance at striking Ruby as she continues to defend herself while trying to find the opportunity to strike. But an aggressive, roundhouse kick sends her to the ground as she tries to get back up.
Ruby: But why!? What do you get out of it!?
Roman: You're asking the wrong questions, Red! It's not what I have to gain, it's that I can't afford to lose!
Ruby uses her semblance to go for a double attack, only to be once again caught in the upper hand from both Roman and Neo as this time Neo grabs Crescent Rose and strikes her again. As she's on the ground, Ruby notices Neo walking to her with a small blade coming from her umbrella and it gave her an idea.
Roman: I may be a gambling man, but even I know that there are some bets you just don't take. Like it or not, the people that hired me are going to change the world! You can't stop 'em, I can't stop 'em! You know the old saying, "If you can't beat 'em-"
Neo goes for the kill but Ruby moves aside and presses a button from Neo's umbrella which opens completely and sends her flying away into the sky to Roman's anger and concern.
Roman: NEO!
Ruby: I don't care what you say! We will stop them, and I will stop you! BET ON THAT!
Both charge at each other with speed and aggression as both take their fair shares of punches and hits. Ruby's speed against Roman's strength and both carrying their weapons for an advantage. Going for full strike, Ruby gets sent back to the ground after another shot by Roman and it was getting bad as her aura is starting to run out. She needed to make a break for it and recover as well, but Roman won't let that happen as he continues to smack Ruby around with his weapon.
Roman: You got spirit, Red. But this is the real world!
Another cane strike.
Roman: The real world is cold!
Another strike yet again and not stopping.
Roman: The real world doesn't care about spirit!
Picking her up, he knee her to the gut before smacking her with another cane strike. Now he was ready to finish her off completely as he prepared his gun and aimed right at her.
Roman: You wanna be a hero!? Then play the part and die like every other Huntsman in history! As for me, I'll do what I do best: lie, steal, cheat, and SURVIVE!
Lie, Steal, and Cheat do have a way of coming back to people in the cruelest way possible. Roman learned that the most difficult way and horror were in the eyes of Ruby Rose. She watched Roman Torchwick be eaten alive and swallowed immediately by an Alpha Griffon which roared sending Ruby flying back. Grabbing her Crescent Rose, she hangs it from the creature's head and yanks it down crashing onto the airship as it begins to descend and crash. She flies out from the ship and shoots at the ground to land safely on top of the roof of a building.
Yang ran as fast as she could looking for Blake. Seeing all the fire, debris, and some bodies around, it worried her that she was going to lose Blake in all this. She heard a loud scream come from inside the dining hall as she looked inside and saw a horrifying sight, Adam impaling his sword onto Blake's abdomen.
Yang: BLAKE! ASSHOLE! GET AWAY FROM HER!
Blake: *groans in pain* Y-Yang...No...
He's the one. He was the boy Blake referred to earlier about who he became and what he did to her. It angered Yang as her eyes turned red and her hair on fire, she was going to end him here and now as she lunges towards him.
Yang:*screams* I'LL KILL YOU!
SLASH
A slash was all that was heard as everything went into complete silence. Everything seemed to have gone black and white with a pinch of red. That red was blood as Blake watched her partner fall onto the ground unconsciously...and her arm separated completely. Tears flowed from Blake's eyes as Adam grinned at the damage he had caused. Removing the stain from his sword, he walks to Yang and sets to finish her off until Blake goes in between them.
Blake: STOP! JUST STOP!
Adam: *sighs* Tsk. Tsk. Why must you hurt me, Blake?
It didn't matter as he goes for the kill decapitating Blake's head until it turned out to be an illusion. He looked around for both of them until he noticed they just went out of his sight; He would chase him and kill them both when no one notices but he could care less now. He did enough damage to her for now and will finish it later on. Back on main campus, the Doctor continued running to where the pulse came from and noticed Weiss on the ground.
The Doctor: WEISS! *Runs to her and checks her pulse*
She was still breathing and that was what mattered most to him. But it still hurt him to see her in this situation and knowing she does not remember him. He held her close and was about to take her to the TARDIS until a private jet was landing near them. He noticed the logo and knew it was Schnee Dust. He remembered what Weiss told him about her family and how strained it was mostly because of her father. He was ready to confront him when he comes out. But when the plane opened, it wasn't him that came out but rather a familiar face.
The Doctor: Willow Schnee...
It was Weiss's mother who came out with personal guards as she looked around at the horror of Beacon then saw her daughter unconscious but in the arms of someone she thought she wouldn't see for a long time.
Willow: *covers mouth* Doctor...
The Doctor: Hello little Willow. *Carries Weiss and stands up*
Willow: What happened? Is Weiss-
The Doctor: She's okay! She's breathing and still has pulse, she is just drained and let out a power surge that took her out completely.
Willow: Guards! Place my daughter on the medical bed!
The Doctor didn't want to let her go knowing this is perhaps the last time he will see her, but he knew she is safe with her mother. He hands her to them as they carry her inside. Willow looked at the time lord and noticed his eyes; She saw he was tired, alone, and sad.
Willow: You look tired Doctor...
The Doctor: I am. You need to go while you still can. Please take care of Weiss and let her know every day that she's the most important person in the universe.
Willow: I know. *Smiles softly* Each of my children has a special meaning in this world, she took the biggest and most magical one. *Gets on the plane*
The Doctor: She doesn't know who I am anymore...keep it that way please.
Willow looked at him with shock at this sudden drop of information. She saw the pain in his eyes and understood that whatever caused her to forget about the Doctor, there was a serious reason for it. She simply nodded and watched him as the door closed and the plane began to depart. Using his Sonic Screwdriver to kill any flying Grimms, the plane safely leaves as he looked at the sky.
The Doctor: Goodbye Weiss...
Blake: DOCTOR!
He turned around and acted immediately at the situation, Blake carrying an unconscious Yang and noticed her arm was gone. He took off his coat and ripped it to wrap around the wound as Blake couldn't stop crying from fear and heartbreak. She did this, he came to her, and destroyed what was precious to her most: Yang. The Doctor noticed and needed to reassure.
The Doctor: It wasn't your fault! Blake! Look at me!
Blake: *sobs* H-He came...for me...and I let him hurt her.
The Doctor: But it is not your fault! Yang would say it too! *Ties up the wound* Look! What matters is we get you two out of here and Ruby as well.
Blake: W-Where is Weiss?
The Doctor: *sighs and looks down* Gone. Her mother came to take her after I found her unconscious. She let out a power pulse but looked similar...*eyes widen* of the time vortex ...Nevermind that. I need to get you guys to a hospital that can attend the both of you!
Blake: *holds Yang's hand and sobs more* I'm sorry...I'm so sorry.
The gathering they hoped would come did happen, but they hoped it would be in better circumstances. Ren, Nora, and Sun returned to the main campus and were heartbroken at the sight of Yang. It was only then they heard a familiar voice.
Ruby: GUYS! *Runs and stops in front of them*
The Doctor: Are you alright Ruby?
Ruby: Don't worry, I'm fine! What's going on- *eyes widened* Y-Yang...
An image that broke her, her big sister, her role model, the person who protected her all her life, was lifeless on the ground with her right arm missing. Tears fell from Ruby as the Doctor tried to calm her with a hug. Sun approached her as well.
Sun: Hey. She's gonna be okay. The soldiers have a ship ready to take you guys to Vale.
The Doctor: Has the city been cleared? Where are the others?
Dalek Khan: Civilians alongside the other huntsmen and huntresses have all been evacuated. WE are the only ones left in Beacon.
Nora: But Jaune and Pyrrha are still missing!
Ruby: What!?
Sun: Look, guys, that giant Grimm is circling the school! Even the White Fang are pulling out! We all have to go, now!
Ren: We're not... leaving! *Falls to my knees* Ugh!
The Doctor: *thinks* You three take Blake and Yang as well and head off to the last ship. We'll meet up with you at the hospital once we find Jaune and Pyrrha. Ruby, Khan, with me! LET'S GO!
Everyone nodded in agreement and went their separate ways. Ruby looks at her sister and teammate one last time as Sun gives her a nod that they'll be okay. There was one person she hadn't seen.
Ruby: Doctor! Where is Weiss?
The Doctor: She was taken back home. Her mother came after her when I found her unconscious.
Dalek Khan: Scan Detects she let out an energetic pulse from her body. It resulted in her body being drained and knocked out. But she will recover.
Ruby: Then let's get Jaune and Pyrrha and END THIS!
While everything was chaos after the Wyvern rose from the grounds and evacuations were still ongoing. Pyrrha snuck away from Team JNPR to meet with Ozpin, but Jaune noticed and followed her. All three enter an elevator which takes them to the bottom floor beneath Beacon's ground.
Jaune: What is this place?
Pyrrha: It's... a type of vault.
Jaune: You've... been here before?
Pyrrha: Jaune...
Ozpin: Pyrrha! Get to the pods! Mister Arc, if you'd like to help, you can stand guard here.
Pyrrha only looked at Jaune with sadness before heading into one of the pods as they awaited the next order by Ozpin while he began to type on a computer.
Ozpin: WE do nothing. You, Miss Nikos... have a choice to make.
Pyrrha: *breathes and nods* I'm ready.
Ozpin: Thank you, Miss Nikos.
With one more button, both pods activate as an orange glow flows through from a pod of an unconscious woman to the pod where Pyrrha is at. The orange glow enters the pod and surrounds Pyrrha, who begins screaming out in agony.
Jaune: *eyes widen* PYRRHA!
Ozpin: I'm... so sorry.
Jaune runs over to Pyrrha's pod in full panic not knowing what is happening until an arrow pierces the glass of Amber's pod and strikes her in the heart. Amber gasps, opening her eyes, then closing them forever. Ozpin and Jaune turn around to see Cinder standing halfway down from them with a bow in her hand. The orange glow returns to Amber's pod but releases from the crack and straight to Cinder.
Ozpin: Stay back!
Jaune had enough and pulled out his sword, charging towards Cinder who fired a fireball at him and sent him back. Thankfully, his shield protected him from further harm. Scared and angry, Pyrrha finally breaks free from the pod and throws the door at Cinder who easily dodges it. Cinder was now the Fall Maiden and what's better, the whispers were gone.
Ozpin: Take Jaune and get out of here! Find Glynda! Ironwood! Qrow! Bring them here right away! The tower cannot fall!
Pyrrha: But I can help!
Ozpin: *glares at Pyrrha* You'll only get in the way.
Pyrrha wished to object and fight alongside him, but she decided to follow his orders and escape with Jaune while Ozpin and Cinder confronted each other.
Cinder: This whole time... right beneath our feet. She was right about you. Such arrogance.
Ozpin ignored it as he extended his cane into a weapon which was unamusing to Cinder. After a long standoff, they charge directly towards each other causing a large, bright flash in the room. Jaune and Pyrrha made it out safely as they now try to figure out what to do next.
Jaune: Okay, I think I have Glynda's number. *Looks at my scroll* Oh, where is it? Pyrrha? What was all of that?
Pyrrha: I...
Their conversation is interrupted by an explosion, followed by Cinder using fire to fly up through the tower with Ozpin nowhere to be seen or heard. The two teens remained surprised and worried.
Jaune: But... Ozpin...
Pyrrha: *shakes head* There's no time. Go. Get to Vale and call for help.
Jaune: Huh? What are you gonna do?
Pyrrha slowly looks up at the top of Beacon Tower. Once he noticed what she was looking at, Jaune realizes what she plans to do, and he did not like it one bit.
Jaune: No... NO, Pyrrha, you can't. You saw how powerful she is! Pyrrha, I won't let you do-
Pyrrha grabs Jaune with both hands and silences him with a kiss on the lips. After a moment of shock and hesitation, Jaune gently pulls her in and returns the kiss. A bittersweet kiss knowing what's to come, Pyrrha pulls away and stares into his eyes. She then uses her Semblance on his armor and pushes him directly into a nearby locker, which slams shut from the impact and locking it. Jaune banged for it to open trying to stop Pyrrha from going to Cinder. She looked at him one last time with tears in her eyes before running off.
Pyrrha: I'm sorry...*runs off*
Jaune: Hey! Wait! Stop, stop! Pyrrha, please don't do this!
A couple minutes later, the Doctor, Ruby, and Dalek Khan arrived as they continued to look for the two. Jaune notices them and bangs on the locker once again as the Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver to open the locker and Jaune speeds out looking for her.
Jaune: RUBY! DOCTOR! Please, you have to stop her!
Ruby: W-Who!?
Jaune: Pyrrha! She's going after that woman at the top of the tower! She doesn't stand a chance!
Ruby: Jaune, what are you talking about!?
The Doctor: Cinder...Pyrrha is going after Cinder.
Jaune: Don't worry about me! *Grabs Ruby's shoulders* Please, you have to save Pyrrha.
Ruby: We will.
The raw and negative emotions from Jaune attracted more Grimms to appear surrounding the gang. But there wasn't any time to fight them as clock was ticking for Pyrrha.
Dalek Khan: DOCTOR! RUBY! GO! I will handle these Grimms with Jaune!
Jaune: GO PLEASE! NOW!
Ruby: Doctor, I have a plan!
The Doctor: Lead the way!
At the top of the tower, the Wyvern arrives as it roars while inside of it, Cinder makes her appearance as she tries to calm down the giant Grimm.
Cinder: Shhhh... This is your home now.
LET ME OUT! I SHOULD NOT BE TRAPPED ANY LONGER YOU DISGRACE!
Cinder held her head in pain and frustration as that voice once again returned but louder and stronger. That was enough to distract Cinder as she felt Pyrrha's spear and dodged it but got struck by Pyrrha with her shield, sending her back. Getting back up slowly, Cinder's vision was blurry but noticed someone that resembled her completely but wearing some kind of futuristic outfit approaching her. Soon, that changed with Pyrrha appearing and striking her once again which was enough for Cinder. She got back up, and launched fireballs at Pyrrha as their fight had now begun but the question is how long could Pyrrha keep up and would it be too late?
Ruby: We've gotta hurry!
Killing a few Grimms along the way, The Doctor and Ruby reached the tower as they heard clashing noises from above, but it was not sounding good as they hear Pyrrha struggling more and more. Cinder quickly took over and became a challenge as Pyrrha began to lose more of her aura while trying to fight back.
The Doctor: I'll trigger your Crescent Rose with my Sonic which would send you flying up to the tower! I'll head up there as soon as I can and we stop this.
Ruby nodded as she placed her Crescent Rose facing the ground. Every second that occurs, Cinder grew stronger and Pyrrha was running out of time. Using her semblance, she sends cog pieces to Cinder, but she blasts them away with a powerful impact of fire, sending them in all over the place but one of the cogs flies toward Pyrrha, who raises her shield to block but is still struck. The force of the impact slams her into a broken wall and finishes the last of her Aura.
Cinder: It's unfortunate you were promised a power that was never truly yours. But take comfort in knowing that I will use it in ways you could never have imagined. *Creates my bow and arrow*
Using full energy, the screwdriver triggers ruby's weapo0n as she is sent flying to the very top of the tower but burly reaches it as she climbs up a bit more but when she gets up, it's already too late. Cinder had her arrow ready to strike directly at Pyrrha's heart as if time went slow for Ruby.
Pyrrha: Do you believe in destiny?
Cinder: *smirks* Yes.
And the arrow struck a fatal blow to the warrior. Gasping in pain, Pyrrha places her hand on her chest right where the arrow is at as Cinder slowly walks to her and places her hand on Pyrrha's head, using her maiden powers to flash incinerate Pyrrha to dust. Ruby has once again lost a dear friend and was broken as tears flow through her but something else was flowing, something powerful. Her tears dried up as she lets out a powerful white beam of light from her eyes striking both Cinder and the Wyvern.
Ruby: PYRRHAAAAAA!
Cinder: WHAT?!
Everything went to black for Ruby as she fell unconscious from whatever just happened after seeing her friend die right in front of her again. She was too weak to move or even open her eyes, but she could faintly hear the voices that were with her.
Qrow: It's alright. I got ya, kiddo. I got ya.
Jaune: PYRRHA! PYRHHA!
Taiyang: *sighs and grunts* Nothing.
Qrow: Just turn it off. Without the CCT, there's no point.
Taiyang: Communication down across the entire Kingdom, no way to contact the outside world... and Ozpin's still missing.
Qrow: Yeah.
Taiyang: This is bad, Qrow.
Qrow: Yeah, this is bad. We need to get out of here first before we think of something else.
The Doctor: RUBY! YOU TWO! IN HERE NOW! JAUNE!
The nearest hospital was filled entirely, and soldiers surrounded the entire area in case Grimms or White Fang appeared once again. There was almost no room for surviving civilians to be attended to. Many were injured and some...have died. The TARDIS lands in a hidden area that goes straight through the emergency room as Taiyang and Qrow rush out with Ruby and head inside. The Doctor walks out looking at all the panic and damage that has already happened today. He noticed Jaune walking towards Ren and Nora whose eyes became watery with Jaune telling them the news as they share a mourning hug altogether. He caught something with his eyes moving fast to a nearby ship and went after it to see that it was Blake.
The Doctor: BLAKE!
She stopped and turned around to look at the time lord as he was confused as to what she was doing. She still had tears in her eyes but did not say anything as she continued running, which shocked him. He looked at the hospital knowing Yang was still in there and Blake left.
Sun: DOCTOR! *Runs to him*
The Doctor: Sun! Where is she going? Why is she leaving?
Sun: I don't know! Once Yang was attended, she just got up and ran off. I tried chasing her but got pulled back by the crowd in there.
The Doctor: Idiot! She's going to break Yang even more by just leaving her...*looks at Sun* Go after her! Yang's father and uncle are both here with Ruby. You go and find her. She's got hell to pay if she doesn't come back.
Sun only nodded knowing that the Doctor was angry as if the whole Beacon situation wasn't enough. Taking a deep breath, the time lord looked around and all he could see was memories of the Time War. Loved ones mourning those who didn't make it. The ones who were injured, screaming in pain. Men, women, and children crying. Soldiers all around and a place that fell into fire. The prophecy of the Elder Sylph all came true. Weiss suffered a fate much worse than death. Yang will be more broken mentally than physically. Blake will return to the cage where she began. And Ruby has lost her pureness that was filling with darkness. He clinched his fist, knowing he couldn't have stopped these fates.
Dalek Khan: Doctor?
The Doctor: Cmon Khan! We're not finished yet! *Walks back inside the TARDIS*
Beacon fell and the battle was lost. The fates of his friends, the ones he considered family all happened. He lost two good people today and unfortunately some innocent lives did not make it either. But he wasn't going to let Remnant stand in darkness. That was the promise to himself. He gave hope to rescue as many civilians as possible and have the students do their part. Heading back into the main campus of Beacon where it became fully Grimm infested, the Doctor readied his screwdriver as Khan readied his blaster. Within the skies, many drones were capturing live events of the aftermath in Beacon as people around Remnant and in the hospital watched without hope and with fear of the future.
News Reporter #1: A day- No, an event that will be scarred into the lives of many for a dark tragedy occurred today at Beacon and the small city of Vale. Casualties have been slowly rising and many reported injuries. Most hospitals around Beacon have been filled up with people. An anonymous voice message was heard across Beacon during the Vytal Festival, and we would like to notify the viewers that this is disturbing to hear.
Cinder: This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children, to men who claim to be our guardians, but are, in reality, nothing more than men. Our Academies' Headmasters wield more power than most armies, and one was audacious enough to control both.
News Reporter #2: CUT THE FEED! CUT THE FEED! FOLKS! We have some breaking news from the ruined grounds of Beacon, there seems to be a boy and some kind of robotic tank confronting every possible Grimm on sight and is destroying them.
News Reporter #1: I...I think that's the same boy that had his speech shared on transmissions!
This caught the eyes of all Remnant whether being watched at the hospitals, watched in other kingdoms, scrolls, or radios. But they were all seeing the same thing, and those who knew who it was knew what this meant. A sign of hope. The Doctor and Dalek Khan passed by every street, killing off all the Grimms. Few have tried to attack but most began to retreat which was caught by the drone cameras.
News Reporter #1: THIS IS NOT A HOAX! THE GRIMMS ARE RETREATING! THE GRIMMS ARE RUNNING FROM THE BOY AND THE MACHINE! The Grimms have tried multiple attacks but have been killed off like they are nothing.
All of Remnant now watched with a slight glimmer of hope. Some began to cheer all across Remnant as this sight. The light crawling out from the darkness. Students were watching as well now understanding what Ruby Rose meant when she explained who he was.
Qrow: T-That's impossible...
Velvet: No sir...that's the Doctor!
Cheers were growing as The Doctor and Khan continued wiping the Grimms. Even the news reporters were cheering in the hope that the future isn't lost and that there are people like the Doctor who still stand and do their part even if they lose. Velvet once again hacks through private communications and replays the Doctor's speech for everyone to listen to.
Yang: He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and can see the turn of the universe.
The duo continues finishing off every Grimm on sight as the Doctor runs back near the TARDIS and adjusts his Sonic Screwdriver once again.
Blake: He has saved our lives so many times, and everyone never even knew he was there. He never stops. He never stays. He never asks to be thanked.
The people of Remnant had kept most of their fears of what happened today but there was hope in them after seeing what the Doctor is doing. To them, it was about making a stand and doing what is right.
Ruby: There are fixed points throughout time where things must stay exactly the way they are. This is not one of them. This is an opportunity!
Blake made it on the ship and cried to sleep after the horror that occurred not knowing what was happening. Ruby and Yang have been attended but both remain unconscious as Taiyang and Qrow take care of them. Students such as JNR, CFVY, and other Professors began to help out Civilians in getting treated. And from the private jet above the skies, Willow watches the broadcast and looks over at Weiss knowing she won't know about the most important man that came to her life.
Weiss: We're capable of the most incredible change. We can evolve while still staying true to who we are. We can honor who we've been and choose who we want to be next.
Team RWBY: And his name is The Doctor!
Striking his Sonic Screwdriver up in the air, it merges with the TARDIS as a large shockwave goes through all of Beacon destroying many glasses across buildings but incinerating all the Grimms across Vale especially those retreating. All drones but one crashed from the impact of the shockwave as reports show that there were no more scans of Grimm, and one last sighting is caught of the Doctor standing in a now empty city before that drone crashes down as well.
FEW DAYS LATER
The last few days were nothing else than blank. She couldn't open her eyes nor could hear anything. All she could still remember was seeing Pyrrha get killed by Cinder before falling unconscious. Now she could hear birds tweeting and feel the sunlight hitting the wall near the bed. After days of being knocked out, Ruby slowly opened her eyes and looked around before sitting up slowly. She observed the room and noticed her father remaining half awake but jolted once he saw her awake.
Taiyang: Ruby! *Runs to her* You're awake!
Ruby: Ugh... what happened?
Taiyang: Your uncle Qrow found you, unconscious. He got you out of there, though, and brought you home safe.
Ruby: Wait! Yang! Is she alright!?
Taiyang: Uh... She's uh... she's gonna be alright. I think she's just... I think it's just gonna take some time for her to get used to things. She's too strong to let this stop her. *Sniffs and wipes tears* I'm just glad to have my girls back at home.
Ruby: What happened to the school?! And Vale?! Were they able to clear out the Grimm?
Taiyang: Things at Vale are under control, but the school... It's... it's not that simple. After everyone was evacuated, that thing you froze was somehow still breathing despite its state and more Grimms came into the city. But then that strange boy came and wiped out completely. Every. Single. Grimm including the big one.
Ruby: *eyes widened* Doctor...
Taiyang: That's the name I heard from a few people who spotted him when the invasion just happened.
Ruby: You said I did a number on it. What do you mean?
Taiyang: I... Look that's not important right now. We can talk about it later. Things are just... kind of a mess.
Qrow: It's always a mess.
Ruby and Taiyang looked back where the voice came from to see Qrow standing at the door, finishing the last of his flask.
Qrow: Mind if we have a minute?
Taiyang: What, I can't stay here?!
Qrow: Tai. Please.
Taiyang: *kisses Ruby on the forehead* I'm glad you're alright. I'll go make us some tea. *leaves*
Qrow: So, how you feeling?
Ruby: Um... I kind of hurt... all over.
Qrow: Yeah, that makes sense, after what you did.
Ruby: You guys keep saying that! That I did something! What are you talking about?!
Qrow: *sighs* What's the last thing you remember?
Ruby: I ran up the side of the tower, and when I got to the top, I... *Tears up* Pyrrha! Is she...?
Qrow: *looks down* She's gone.
Ruby: I... I... I got to the top... *sobs* and I saw Pyrrha... and Cinder...and then everything went white!
Qrow: Anything else?
Ruby: I remember... *wipes my tears* my head hurting. And very faintly, I could hear you, Dad, Jaune,… and the Doctor.
Qrow: The night you met Ozpin, what was the first thing he said to you?
Ruby: I... I don't know. I think it was something about...
Qrow: Silver eyes. That's an extremely rare trait.
Ruby: So?
Qrow: You're special, Ruby. And not in the "Daddy loves his special angel" kind of way. You're special the same way your mom was. Remnant's full of legends and stories, some of them true, some made up. But there's one Oz told me from a very long time ago. Back before Huntsmen, before Kingdoms, it was said that those born with silver eyes were destined to lead the life of a warrior. You see, the creatures of Grimm, the most fearsome monsters mankind had ever encountered, were afraid of those silver-eyed warriors. They were the best of the best. It was said that even a single look from one of these fighters could strike a Grimm down. Heh. It's a ridiculous story.
Ruby: But... you think that I might be...
Qrow: *chuckles more* Well, a giant monster was frozen on top of Beacon Tower. And you're here, safe in bed. I gotta ask kiddo, do you personally know the boy called Doctor Who?
Ruby: *giggles* That's not his actual name but yeah...he was our friend and our partner in crime.
Qrow: *shows her a video on my scroll* Well, from the stories I've heard from your friends and Oz, he is something else alright. Not to mention his ship is unlike anything we've seen before.
Ruby's eyes widened at seeing the Doctor and Khan wiping out the Grimms across Beacon. This is what he meant when he said to evacuate the city first. A small smile appeared on her face knowing that this is who he truly is and what he is willing to do.
Ruby: I would explain it but it's also confusing plus my head is still fuzzy. Wait, wait, how did you know what Ozpin said to me... the night we met?
Qrow: All those missions I go on... all the times I'm away in some far-off place... it's been for Ozpin. But he's missing now. Something's been set in motion. With Oz gone, I'll have to pick up where he left off.
Ruby: Then what can I do? If I'm so special, then I can help, right?
Qrow: You really wanna help? Get some rest. You're in no condition to go anywhere right now. *Walks to the door* Besides, our enemy's trail leads all the way to Haven. That'd be quite a trip for a pipsqueak like you. *winks* Catch ya later, kiddo.
Ruby sits alone in her room as she watches Qrow leave. She decided to stand up for a bit to get her body to wake up. She heads to Yang's room where she sees her sister staring at the window, but she felt that Yang was empty on the inside.
Ruby: Yang?
Yang: Ruby.
Ruby was about to leave til her sister replied back. She looked at her sister again and Yang turns to look at her younger sister with tears in her eyes. Ruby runs over and hugs her.
Ruby: I'm so glad you're okay!
Yang: But I'm not. It's all gone - the school, Penny, Pyrrha, and... *Looks at my arm* Where did Weiss go?
Ruby: She...had an accident. She was knocked out when the Doctor got to her before we did. Her mom came to bring her back to her home. B-But...where's Blake?
Yang: Blake ran! Sun saw her go and went after her. After we got to the hospital, she just... ran!
Ruby: But... why!?
Yang: I don't know... and I don't care.
Ruby: T-There has to be a reason she-
Yang: No, there doesn't! Sometimes bad things just happen, Ruby!
Ruby: So, what do we do now? Any word from the Doc-
Yang: I don't care about that idiot. And you can do whatever you want. I'm gonna lie here.
Ruby: Yang...
Yang: Just leave me alone!
This startled Ruby but it also broke her heart. To see her sister like this and to give her this kind of treatment, something she never thought would happen. Trying to hold in her tears, she leaves the room before she breaks again.
Ruby: I love you.
Time has passed as it went from Fall to Winter. Yang remained the same as she stayed soulless but filled with anger and hatred. Ruby woke up very early, back in her gear and a backpack ready to make her leave as she meets up with Team JNR.
Jaune: Hey.
Ruby: Hey, Jaune. Haven's a long way to go.
Jaune: I know. It's the only way we have.
Ruby: Are you sure you want to come along?
Ren: The journey will be perilous, and whether we'll find answers at the end is entirely uncertain.
Nora: But we wouldn't be here if we weren't up for it.
Ruby: Then let's get started.
The four leave as Yang watches without a single care. Taiyang entered Ruby's room with breakfast but immediately drops it when he doesn't see her and looks around for her, not noticing the letter left on her bed.
A smaller, more honest soul... It's true that a simple spark can ignite hope, breathe fire into the hearts of the weary. The ability to derive strength from hope is undoubtedly mankind's greatest attribute. Which is why I will focus all of my power... to snuff it out. How does it feel, knowing that all of your time and effort has been for nothing? That your guardians have failed you? That everything you've built will be torn down before your very eyes? Your faith in mankind was not misplaced. When banded together, unified by a common enemy, they are a noticeable threat. But divide them, place doubt into their minds, and any semblance of power they once had will wash away.
Weiss was back at her home, a place she wished not to return but ignored it as she looked up at the sky feeling like there is more out there than she knows. Her eyes glowed gold once again without noticing. Blake jumped across buildings and notices Beacon from afar as she sees an empty city that was once filled with spirit and joy now all gone. She continues jumping while holding back tears. Ruby made one last visit to her mother's gravestone before heading off with Jaune, Nora, and Ren. Qrow watching them from a cliff above carrying Ozpin's weapon before flying off as a Crow. And within the forest, Dalek Khan also watches them as he slowly follows.
Of course, they won't realize it at first. Like you, they'll cling to their fleeting hope, their aspirations. But this is merely the first move. So, you send your guardians, your Huntsmen and Huntresses, and when they fail and you turn to your smaller soul, know that you send her to the same pitiful demise.
A mysterious, tall figure looked over a wasteland filled with Grimm all over as she spoke her thoughts out now that she'd begun her plan, and it was already off to where she needed. Her eyes glowed red and smirked at her final thought.
Salem: This is the beginning of the end, Ozpin... And I can't wait to watch you burn.
In an isolated forest, Grimms was disintegrated by the Doctor who approaches a jellyfish-like Grimm trying to escape but he grabs it with ease as the creature struggles.
The Doctor: You know where your creator is right? Tell her that I have a message for her and her goons. Tell her this, If you think because you won, I am weak, that we are weak, then you understand very little. If you were any part of watching what I did to your creatures and what my friends did to your apprentice, and you're not afraid, then you understand nothing at all. So, for your own sake, understand this. I am the Doctor. I'm coming to find you, and I won't stop.
Letting go of the creature as it flies off, the Doctor walks back into the TARDIS knowing who he is now and what is to come for him and everyone else. Setting coordinates to his next trip, he pulls the lever with a serious look as the TARDIS dematerializes and once again, the Doctor is off. This would only be the beginning of Team RWBY and the Odd Gentleman in Remnant.
