IT'S MORPHIN TIME
Musutafu Streets- Afternoon
On a random rooftop in the middle of the city, two people were standing there talking.
One was a teenage boy. He was short for his age, his round face framed by a short mess of fluffy dark-green hair that stuck up at odd angles around his head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself. His eyes are large and somewhat circular, their irises the same green color as his hair, giving him an innocent appearance. He has a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek, but despite these prominent traits, he's often described by others as being plain-looking. He was wearing a black uniform, wearing oversized red boots with thick white soles, laced up to the top.
He's named Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless boy who dreams of being a hero someday.
The other was a middle-aged man.
He's a very skinny man with sharp, angular features and long limbs, his neck long and his eyebrows absent. He is wearing baggy clothing to accommodate the change in body mass between forms.
This was Toshinori Yagi, but he is better known as All Might, The number 1 hero and the symbol of peace.
After All Might spots a Villain with a sludge quirk, fleeing after robbing a bank while he was getting groceries. He tracks the villain through the sewers and eventually finds him trying the seize the body of a young man, which was Izuku Midoriya. All Might uses his Texas Smash to blast the villain apart and saves Midoriya. While Midoriya recovers, All Might encases the villain inside a couple of empty bottles, in order to take him to the authorities. When Midoriya awakens, he finds that All Might has signed his Hero Analysis for the Future notebook and thanks him profusely.
All Might prepare to leave, but the young fanboy holds on to All Might after he leaps high into the air. At first, All Might try to shake him off but stops after agreeing that Midoriya would die if he dropped him in mid-air. He is forced to land on a rooftop and tries to leave again, but Izuku questions him on whether he can become a hero without a quirk. Before answering, All Might's time in his muscle form comes to an end and he reverts to his true form, shocking Midoriya.
All Might reveals to the surprised Midoriya that he was injured in battle five years ago and can only stay in his hero form for a short time. He then remembered what Midoriya said to him and answered his question.
Midoriya was ready to hear what All Might was about to say. Hoping that becoming a Quirkless hero is a possibility, but...
"I'm supposed to be the guy who's always smiling, right? I'm the Symbol of Peace. People everywhere have to think that I'm never afraid. But honestly,..." He revealed, clenching his fist. "I smile to hide the fear inside. It's just a brave face I put on when the pressure is high. This job isn't easy. Pro heroes are always having to risk their lives." Toshinori said to the fanboy with a serious expression on his face. "Some villains just can't be beaten without powers. So no, I honestly don't think you can become a hero without a quirk."
Hearing those words coming from the number one hero's mouth was like a dead sentence for Midoriya. All his life the only thing he ever dreamed of was being a hero and bringing a smile to their faces, but he was quirkless. Nobody believed in him and told him he couldn't be one cause he quirkless. His mother, his classmates, his teachers, his former best friend/bully, and now even his idol hero.
"I... See." Midoriya gulped, with his head down in disappointment.
"If you wanna help people, there are plenty of other ways to do it. You could become a police officer. They're looked down on because the heroes do most of the work, but it's a fine profession." All Might opened the door that led downstairs, saying final words before shutting the door behind him. "It's not bad to have a dream, young man, just... Make sure your dreams are attainable. Realistic. Understand?"
Midoriya was left on the roof, still in shock from what All Might said to him. "He even said I can't be a hero." Midoriya couldn't believe that his idol disagreed.
Meanwhile, Toshinori walked down the steps, coughs escaping his lips. "Now, let's get you to the station." He said glancing down, tapping on his pocket then he gasped, pulling the material inside out of each of them. He glanced back and forth, panicking as a loud explosion was heard from outside.
Looking out the window, Toshinori noticed smoke billowing from a few blocks away. Gulping, he dropped his pockets. "Not good." He said rushing to the scene.
Musutafu Streets Tatooin Shopping District- Afternoon
A few minutes earlier...
In an alleyway, there was a plastic bottle that had something inside of it. It was the sludge villain who was encased, after his defeat with All Might.
He awoke, struggling to escape. "Where am I? What happened?" He paused, remembering his encounter with All Might. "Oh yeah. If it wasn't for him, I'd be out of town already..." He thought in anger, cursing the Pro hero.
"That was rough." A male voice said, as three teenage middle boys walked down the alleyway. "Weren't you and Midoriya good friends back when you were kids?" One of the boys said to an angry blonde-haired boy.
The boy was of average height, with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. He has short, spiky, ash-blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red in color, His uniform is all black and buttoned up, and he's wearing a pair of brown shoes.
He was Katsuki Bakugo and his quirk is called Explosion. He is a determined individual who will be the number one hero someday. A hero even greater than All Might himself.
Early on today in class, the teacher announces that all students will graduate, and Katsuki contends the notion that he is of the same status as his peers. He refers to his classmates as beneath him because of his acing the mock tests and his powerful quirk. In consequence, he tells them all that he alone will attend U.A. High School and surpass the number one hero: All Might.
The teacher discloses that Midoriya is also attempting to get into U.A., much to Bakugo's displeasure. Bakugo berates Midoriya and uses his quirk to scare him by exploding his desk. He tells Midoriya that because he is quirkless, he will never succeed at anything, especially getting into U.A.
After class, Bakugo and two of his friends confront Midoriya. They take his hero notebook and Bakugo burns it with his quirk before tossing it out the window into a fish pond. Bakugo reminds Midoriya that only he himself is destined to reach that school and Midoriya is just a stepping stone for his greatness. Before leaving the room, Bakugo warns Midoriya not to apply to
U.A. at all.
Bakugo and Midoriya were close friends during their childhood. However, once it's Bakugo learned Midoriya didn't have a quirk while he himself manifested a powerful one, he had always considered Midoriya as a hindrance in his path to becoming the greatest hero, and bullying Midoriya alongside his classmates and giving him the derogatory name 'Deku' which he always calls him. To remind him of how useless he is and crush his dreams of being a Pro hero.
After school, Bakugo and his 2 friends try to decide what to do for fun and ponder if Bakugo was too harsh on Izuku. Bakugo had an angry expression on his face thinking about today's events with his former childhood friend Deku.
God, just thinking about that useless nerd really pissed him off!
"Yeah." The other boy agreed turning to Bakugo. "You were a little harsh with him today."
Bakugou looked down at an empty soda can resting in his palm. "It's his own fault for getting in my way." He said walking, as he kicked the bottle that held the sludge villain.
"You shouldn't waste your time with the guy. Just forget about him." One of his friends suggested.
Bakugo thought back to that morning, scoffing as he exploded the can with his quirk. "Someone's gotta teach that worthless nerd how the world really works." He threw the can to the side. "I hate it when he talks about heroes." Bakugo angrily said.
His friends started to laugh, and then one of them gave a suggestion. "Hey, I got an idea. We should go to the arcade. Get your mind off it, ya know?"
"Find." He said agreeing with the idea.
"Or, we can sneak into the bar at the station. Pick up some ladies." The other boy said with a grin.
His friend agreed to the idea. "Idiots! If we get caught, there's no way U.A. would let me in!" Bakugo yelled at them, while the sludge seeping out of the bottle as they spoke.
As Bakugo yelled, his friend's eyes widened, noticing the sludge villain behind him. They each pointed towards him, drawing Bakugo's attention to a reforming sludge monster.
"Perfect." The mud-like creature gurgled. "I like a skinsuit with some fire!" He said absorbing Bakugo into his goopy body.
Musutafu Streets- Afternoon
Present
Midoriya was still standing there thinking about what All Might said to him until the boy broke from his trance as he heard the explosion as well, wandering closer to the edge to investigate.
Upon noticing the smoke, he gasped, hurriedly running towards the door. "A villain! I wonder what hero will show!" Midoriya said.
Midoriya stopped as All Might's words echoed through his mind. "Some villains just can't be beaten without powers. So no, I honestly don't think you could become a hero without a quirk." His shoulders dropped and he closed his eyes, making his way downstairs at a much slower pace.
He was just a quirkless failure, just like what Kacchan said to him.
He was just a Deku.
Musutafu Streets Tatooin Shopping District- Afternoon
Ren and Yui were walking through the shopping district on their way back home from school, passing by multiple people.
Ren was feeling good right now. He finally has powers now thanks to the Master Morpher. All that was left was to train his new powers and get them under control.
"So... Yui." Ren said getting the quiet girl's attention.
"Yes?" Yui asked looking his way.
"I have been thinking about what you said to me at lunch," Ren said stopping and turning to her, which made Yui stop too. "And I decided to take the entrance exam."
"Really?" She said with a slightly surprise look.
He just gives her a nod in response.
"I see. I'm happy to hear that." Yui said with a little smile. "Then let's do our best together."
"Right," Ren said to her with a smile.
Holo-Tommy just slightly chuckles at this moment. But then the three attention turned to a loud explosion.
"What was that?" Ren said in surprise.
"Don't know." Yui said being more calmer than Ren but was still surprised.
"That's not a good sign." Holo-Tommy said having a bad feeling about that explosion.
"Come on, let's go see what this is Yui," Ren said rushing over to where the smoke was.
Yui didn't say anything, she just followed him from behind.
Toshinori ran through the city as fast as he could, even know he had reached his time limit on using his quirk.
Meanwhile, Ren and Yui ran to see a crowd of people who were watching something. The two of them arrived to see the wreckage of the villain attack.
Flames licked at posts, bringing them down with thuds as panicked people ran from the chaos. The Heroes rushed to the scene, soon realizing that there was someone encased in the monster's goop.
One hero was a man called Kamui Woods. He was a young man with a rather muscular build, standing relatively shorter than others. His face was covered in a wooden mask he using with his quirk. His Hero Costume is a dark blue bodysuit that includes a wooden belt, wooden knee pads, and wooden shoes. A small bundle of roses hangs from the left side of his belt.
Another was called Backdraft. He is dressed like a firefighter, sporting a long yellow jacket with high-visibility lines running down the center, along his sleeve cuffs, hem, and high collar, as well as a red fireman hat. A thin cannon is strapped to his left shoulder which is attached to the red water tank he wears on his back. He wears a white mask with a single orange bead embedded into the center, which could possibly be his eye. He has tapped for his hands with circular wrist guards just behind their openings, red valves over the top, a pair of similar knee pads on his legs, and yellow sneakers on his feet.
Another was called Death Arms. He is a very tall, muscular man of a wide build with slightly tanned skin. He has a square jaw which juts out a notable amount, small eyes, and short white hair, spiked out behind his head. In his hero costume, he wears large headband with a yellow and black-striped caution pattern, matching his thick wrist-guards and the belt around his waist, a square buckle with a triangular decoration sat in its center. He wears what looks to be a cyan-colored cardigan, which exposes his lower torso and the center of his pectorals, held onto his chest on each side by small metal nuts. His pants are dark blue, with a white stripe down each side, and are slightly baggy on him, and his shoes are plain black with a simple design.
And others Pro's thrown into the mix, trying their best to resolve the situation at hand.
"They've taken someone hostage!" Death Arms exclaimed, his fists colliding. The man rushed towards the villain, punching the sludge villain. "How dare you prey on a child?!"
The monster simply laughed as the man's hand sunk into his body. Death Arms was thrust into the door of a garage, groaning as he fell.
"You okay, Death Arms?" A hero asked, running towards the sludge villain.
"Heh! Stay back or I'll snap his neck!" The Villain threatened the hero to stop.
Bakugo was struggling to free himself from the villain's grasp, screaming as he stretched the sludge. "YOU PICKED THE WRONG GUY TO MESS WITH! I'M GONNA SEND YOU BACK TO WHATEVER SEWER YOU CRAWLED OUT OF!" His palms forced out explosions as he fought back, spreading the fire. "LET ME GO!"
The wind rushed from the explosions, pushing the heroes backward.
"You have so much power!" The sludge villain laughed. "I really hit the jackpot! With a quirk like yours under my control, I could take All Might down with one punch!" He began forcing his 'tentacles' into the air, sending them into a spiraling motion.
"That doesn't look good." Ren said to himself, watching the whole thing unfold.
Yui kept silent, watching as well but had a worried look on her face.
"This isn't good." Holo-Tommy worried. "The other heroes are struggling to get that kid-free. And his wildly using his power, making things worse." Watching the horrible scene.
Citizens began to comment on the action, panic rising among them.
"What was that? Some kind of special move?" A person said.
"Dude is a legit supervillain..." Another person said to them.
Then smiles lit up as gasps came from the crowd. "It's her! The hero Mount Lady will stop him!" A civilian yelled as a giant woman rushed forward to the scene to stop the villain.
Her name is Yu Takeyama, also known as Mount Lady.
She is a voluptuous young woman who has purple eyes with white pupils, with elegantly long eyelashes. She has long, voluminous, creamy blonde hair reaching her waist, with two shorter strands curled to frame her face, parted slightly to her left. Her hero costume is composed of a purple and pale tan-colored skintight bodysuit, which is accented with orange stripes. The suit appears to have a pair of purple gloves with orange accents on the edge of the cuff. The design is similar to her "boots" which are cut off at the thigh in a deep v-shape. The suit also has three peculiar orange diamond-shaped dots on the purple top that are located under her chest, and she also wears a purple domino mask with horn-like protrusions on the sides.
Mount Lady's eyes widened as she stumbled backward. "My only weakness!" She gasped in realization. "I need at least a two-lane road if I'm gonna make my way through here!"
"Fire and wood don't exactly make a good combination! I'll let someone else stop this guy!" Kamui Woods said wrapping up civilians in his limbs, rescuing them from the scene.
"Don't look at me!" Backdraft called out, hosing down the fire. "I've got my hands full here!" He glanced from left to right, speaking to the heroes. "Where are those fire trucks?! Can you guys get to him?!"
"I can't get a grip on his weird body." Death Arms replied. "Plus, that kid's quirk is causing explosions left and right!"
"This is a shutout! We gotta rally and knock him out of the park somehow!" Shouted a nearby hero.
Bakugo continued to struggle as the sludge villain laughed maniacally, almost completely enveloping the boy. He then launched an attack on the heroes, forcing them to move backward.
"It's no good! None of us have the right quirks for stuff like this!" Death Arms shouted, exasperated.
The other hero nodded. "We'll do damage control until someone with the right quirk shows up!" He shouted.
"There are still plenty of people to save...!" Backdraft commented, continuing to deal with the rising flames.
Kamui raised more citizens out of the blaze. "Don't worry, I bet all the heroes in the city are coming!" He hoped someone would show up.
"They can't be serious? They are right here, they have to do something about this. Not waiting for someone to show up." Ren thought.
"What are the heroes doing? They're not doing anything." Holo-Tommy thought. Their just waiting for someone to show up and fix this problem. "If they don't hurry, things will only get worse."
"I'm sorry kid." Death Arms shaking his fists in frustration. "You'll just have to hang on a little bit longer!" He grunted. "If I only had more power I could blow this guy away!"
Toshinori just arrived at the scene, panting as he rounded the corner. Civilians shouted towards the heroes, encouraging them to fight back.
Upon glancing at the battle, Toshinori gasped, remembering his encounter with Midoriya. "I must've dropped him in the air... I got distracted, worrying about my time limit..." He clutched his chest, gripping a pole with the opposite hand. "What a rookie mistake... And after lecturing that kid about what it takes to be a hero. I'm pathetic!" He thought feeling disappointed in himself.
Meanwhile, Midoriya was wandering the streets as he flipped through his hero notebook. Echoes of doubt rattled around his brain as tears pooled in his eyes. "Even All Might said it. A hero needs a quirk." He sniffled to himself. "Don't cry, dang it. Deep down you knew this. You've just been avoiding reality. That's why you were trying so desperately to prove yourself wrong." Midoriya told himself.
Then the green-haired boy heard another explosion, causing his attention to shift. "That's strange? Is the fight from earlier still going on?" He glanced over to the crowd, explosions continuing as his heart pounded. "Why am I here? Did I subconsciously walk this way to check it out?" He thought wandering over to the crowd, attempting to get a look at the fight. His head tilted back and forth as peered through bodies. "I shouldn't even stop. All my notes are useless."
Midoriya suddenly gasped, eyes widening as he noticed the villain. "It's the guy who attacked me! ...That can't be right. All Might capture him. His breath hitched as he thought back. But the bottle... If he dropped it... That means... It's my fault." He realized.
A man turned to a person next to him. "Why aren't the heroes doing anything?" He asked.
"It looks like they've met their match. Plus, it looks like the villain captured a kid." Another man replied. "Things aren't looking good for the heroes."
After hearing their conversation, Midoriya's neck snapped back to the fight, noticing blonde tufts of hair peeking from the sludge. "He captured someone? I wonder how long they've been in there... How can they survive being suffocated like that?" He thought back to his own encounter with the villain. "I thought I'd die after only a few seconds of struggling."
Then confusion began to rise amongst the crowd.
"Wait, I'm confused. Isn't that the villain All Might was chasing after earlier?"
"What? All Might?! No way he lost! Where is he?!"
"Seriously! Why hasn't he shown up to help the heroes!"
"Are they seriously hoping for one person to resolve this problem?" Holo-Tommy was dumbstruck. He knew about All Might from the Internet, he was a hero and everyone had fate in him, almost like some kind of god. "All Might isn't the only hero they should rely on. And chances are he might not show up." He thought.
"Forget All Might for a moment and worry about the heroes that are already here!" Ren thought.
All Might be the number one hero, but his just one man and can't be everywhere, solving everyone's problems.
"Damnmit! Why aren't they doing anything!" Ren thought in frustration at the hero's actions.
Yui noticed her friend had a disturbed look on his face and held his hand. But Ren was to focus on the scene to notice what Yui did.
As Ren was in thought, a light shined on Midoriya and All Might, regret and blame clouding their minds.
Bakugo's eyes widened, fear plaguing his visible features. Upon seeing that, Midoriya broke free from his thoughts, his notebook falling to the ground as he took off. He weaved through the crowd as everyone watched.
This caused Ren, Holo-Tommy, Toshinori, The Pro heroes, and even the emotionless Yui to gasp in surprise, as their eyes widened as they saw the boy in action.
"No, you idiot! Stop! You're gonna get yourself killed!" Death Arms shouted, reaching out his hand.
Midoriya just tuned them out, picking up speed. Rushing at the villain.
"UGH! This brat again!" The sludge villain.
"...Deku?" Bakugo tiredly whispered, watching him coming closer.
"Just what is that guy doing?!" Ren said in surprise, looking at Midoriya rushing at the sludge villain.
Holo-Tommy just observed the green-haired boy and wondered what could have possessed him to run into the middle of danger like that.
"What am I doing?! Why am I running?! Why can't I stop?!" Midoriya thought, rushing towards the creature. As the villain reached out his muddy hand, Midoriya panicked. "What do I do? What would a hero do right now?!" He quickly thought of his hero notebook, mentally opening up to a page. "Page twenty-five! Right!" He came up with a plan.
"TAKE THIS!" The boy spun, hurling his backpack at the grotesque villain's eye causing him to flinch. The sludge villain then released Bakugo for a moment, allowing him to take a gulp of air. "KAACHAN!" Midoriya shouted, grasping at the sludge villain's body.
"What?! Why are you here?!" Bakugo yelled at the boy.
"I DON'T KNOW! MY LEGS! THEY JUST STARTED... MOVING!" Midoriya shouted frantically, still attempting to release the blonde. "Kaachan,..." Midoriya cried. "I couldn't just stand there and watch you die!"
Toshinori, Ren, and Holo-Tommy gasped, staring wide-eyed at the boy upon hearing his reason.
"This kid." Toshinori thought in surprise. "Master, I finally found my successor!"
"He jumped into the middle of danger just because he didn't want him to die?" Ren thought in amazement, thinking about how heroic this green-haired kid was.
Holo-Tommy thought in shock, that this kid was interesting. "This kid is unbelievable." That sounds like something a Ranger would do. Jumping into danger regardless of the consequences and doing everything in their power to help others.
Then something unexpected happened to the Master Morpher, it started to glow bright green before disappearing.
Holo-Tommy was surprised by what just happened and knew what it meant. "No way? He's been chosen as well." He thought before smiling.
"Just a little bit longer, kid!" The villain addressed Bakugo, switching to Midoriya as he aimed an attack. "AND I'M DONE WITH YOU!"
All Might's muscles began to expand, steam rising from his skin. "I have to do something...," He grunted. "No matter the cost!"
"Crap! I have to do something!" Ren thought as time started to slow down around him. "What's going on?! Why is everything moving so slowly?" He looked around as the people, heroes, and villains moved very slowly. "Shit! Now's not the time to think about it!" He shook his head. "I need to move!" He said looking straight ahead.
The heroes lunged towards Midoriya, panicked. "SAVE THE BOY!" Death Arms ordered. "THIS THING WILL KILL HIM!"
Ren then moved his body in a blur, as he made his way to reach Midoriya. The sludge villain raised his fist in the air to strike down the quirkless boy. Midoriya fell to the ground and saw an incoming arm, bracing for an attack that never came. But Ren grabbed Midoriya and pulled him away from the villain's attack, then rushed over at Bakugo, pulling him out of the sludge villain's body, at an incredible speed that no one reacted to or seen.
"What the?!" The villain said in confusion as his fist was on the ground. "Where did he go?!" Then he noticed his human shield was gone too. "And where did that explosion kid go?!"
He wasn't the only one, the heroes and civilians was wondering something. All Might then stopped himself from changing into his muscle form, as he was just as confused as to what happened to Bakugo and Midoriya.
"Where are those two boys?!" Death Arm said in confusion.
"Did someone save them in time?" Kamui Woods said.
"Or maybe they moved out on the way," Backdraft suggested.
"Hey look!" Mount Lady pointed, drawing everyone's attention to where she pointed.
They saw Ren holding both Midoriya and Bakugo by their arms tightly as they were lying on the ground.
"Who's that kid?" Mount Lady said in surprise.
"He just saved that green-haired and blonde kid!" Death Arms said looking at him.
"But how? I didn't even see it happen." Kamui Woods said in confusion.
"Ren?" Yui said in surprise.
"Oh, great! Not another brat to deal with?!" The sludge villain said in annoyance.
Midoriya then opened his eyes and looked at Ren in surprise. Bakugo just had a confused look on his face not knowing what just happened to him.
"Not bad kid." Holo-Tommy thought as he was impressed that Ren was able to use the T-Rex Speed, due to the power of the Red Dino Gem and Master Morpher.
This power belongs to Conner Mcknight, the Red Dino Thunder Ranger. Which granted him the power to move and react at superhuman speeds.
"W-W-Who are you?!" Midoriya asked.
"Stay here, I'll handle the rest," Ren said getting up, taking off his bag and walking towards the villain.
"Stop kid! It's dangerous to approach that villain!" Kamui Woods said, but Ren ignored him.
The villain was glaring at the teenager, as the boy stopped a few feet away from him. The crowd was taken back as the cameras focused on the unknown teenager who intervened at a time when the heroes couldn't. He just came out of nowhere, which was something that even baffled the crowd and the heroes.
"You get one chance slimeball," Ren said pointing at the villain. "Give up now and turn yourself in or suffer the consequences."
"You damn fool! You think all give up so easily!" The sludge villain yelled before crackling. "You know what, your quirk is even better than that other kid's! With speed like that, no one will be about to catch me! I shall take it for myself!" He declared.
"I like to see you try." Ren accepted the challenge.
The crowd gasped, and the heroes were shocked.
"Is that kid insane?!" Death Arms cried out loud.
"We have to stop him!" Kamui Woods said.
"Ren, run!" Yui cried out in concern.
All Might would've moved, but he kept his eyes on the black-haired kid. Wondering how this was going to play out.
"But y'all never get that chance, 'cause..." Ren said while raising his left arm to the side, and the Master Morpher began to change to a different Morpher, the Rescue Morpher. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, confusing everyone there.
"Morphin time?" Midoriya, Toshinori, and Yui all thought in confusion.
"Lightspeed Rescue!" Ren shouted while doing hand motions before pressing the top left button, opening the antenna panel/cover on the Morpher.

The background changes to a black tunnel with multiple lights moving back as Ren thrusts his hands forward being a Red/White shield symbol appears in front of him. He then quickly crossed his arms before moving them down to his side. Suddenly, it passed through Ren as it disappeared, forming his Ranger suit except for his visor before his gas mask came up and the visor hid it alongside his face while the logo appeared behind him.
To everyone else, they saw Ren change into his Ranger form. They saw him summon a giant Red/White shield symbol in front of him, as he quickly crossed his arms before moving them down to his side, while the shield moved towards him, passed through, and disappeared, forming a suit around him. Then his visor before his gas-mask came up and the visor hid it alongside his face.

"Hiya!" Ren jumps over the sludge villain with a front roll flip, landing on the ground with his legs bending down with his back turned to the villain.
"What the hell just happened?!" The sludge villain asked turning around with a shocked look on his face.
Ren then turned to face the villain. His Ranger suit is primarily red with a white X on his chest. His gloves and boots are white with gold braces. His helmet has white stripes in a plus pattern and a shield-shaped visor.
"Red Lightspeed Ranger, Rescue Ready!" Ren shouted while saluting before getting into his pose.
Midoriya, Bakugo, Yui, All Might, the heroes, and the crowd just stared at Ren with their jaws dropped and a look of disbelief on their faces. They were unable to process what Ren just did and had their own reaction to this.
All Might and the heroes were beyond stunned by what Ren had just done. They were trying to figure out how a child has a hero costume and how he makes it appear out of nowhere.
Midoriya's mouth was wide open with a shocked expression on his face. The person that just saved him, suddenly made a costume appear on him and was ready to face the sludge villain. Normally he would have geeked over something like this, but he was too stunned to do anything except look at Ren.
Bakugo had the same expression as Midoriya, he was trying to figure out who this spandex guy was and how he made a costume appear out of thin air.
Yui eyes were widened upon seeing what Ren did. She knew he didn't have a quirk, but what he did looked like something a person with a quirk would do. She had so many questions right now, but Yui was more worried about Ren's safety.
"Wow! So this is what it feels like to morph into a Power Ranger." Ren just looked at himself and could feel even more power in his Ranger form.
"I know it's amazing and all, but focus on the enemy in front of you." Holo-Tommy reminded him of the villain.
"Right, sorry," Ren said regaining focus on the threat before him.
The sludge villain just got out of his shock and glared at Ren. "Is that supposed to scare me or something?! As if I'll be intimidated by some brat-playing hero!" He shouted making two tentacle sludge arms and sending them to Ren. "NOW DIE!"
"Rescue Blaster, fire!" Ren said pulling out his Rescue Blaster and firing 2 shots at the villain's arms destroying them.
"Damnmit!" The villain cursed feeling the pain.
"Let's see how you like this, Rescue Blaster Baton Mode!" Ren commanded as he switched the Rescue Blaster to Baton mode. As he changes to the villain.
"Did his gun turn into a sword?!" Death Arms asked.
"His weapon just changed!" Midoriya thought watching the fight.
The sludge villain sends more attacks at Ren, but he just keeps hacking and slashing away at his tentacles closing the distance between them.
"Stand still and let me capture you!" The sludge villain threw himself at Ren, hoping to capture him in his sludge body.
Ren jumped over his attempt to capture him with a side flip and struck the villain with the Rescue Baton hurting him, as he slowly landed back on the ground, attacking the villain again with multiple strikes.
"Agrh!" The villain screamed in pain.
"Did he just float to the ground like a feather? It must be his quirk. It looks pretty useful when his at high place." Midoriya thought looking at the battle.
"He's not half bad. It's almost as if I'm watching a pro at work." Toshinori thought impressed by Ren's fighting skills.
"Ren." Yui said hoping this would end soon.
He then sends a punch at Ren. Only for Ren to block it with his weapon, as he was knocked back slightly by the villain.
"Gah! I need to get his guard down!" Ren said rolling to the side avoiding another attack.
He rushed at the sludge villain again, cutting up more of his body parts as he was getting closer.
"Don't think I'll let you get close to me again!" The villain said moving out of the way of Ren's attack.
"Damnmit, he almost had him!" Mount Lady said in frustration, watching the fight between the villain and teenager.
"You wanted to be able to hit me if I kept my distance from your weapon." The villain said in a cocky tone. Making his body grow more tentacles while attacking the Red Ranger.
"That's what you think ugly," Ren said cutting another tentacle before jumping back. "Because I'm ending this now, Rescue Morpher energize!" He said holding his left wrist and the Rescue Morpher appeared in a flash of light. "Battle Booster!" He commanded while doing some arm movements and in a flash of red lightning, the Battle Booster appeared on his right wrist. Then the Rescue Morpher disappeared from his wrist. "Battle Booster! Battle Ready!" Ren said typing the code 4-7-8 into the Battle Booster as it glowed red, then he spun his right arm in a circle, holding his arm up in front of him as the light followed his movements before fading.
"Is that some kind of support item?" Midoriya whispers as he continues to watch the battle.
"Battle Booster?" Toshinori repeated what Ren said, as he wondered what this Battle Booster does.
Bakugo just stayed silent watching everything unfold.
"How does he keep getting those weapons?" Kamui Woods asked.
"Hmph. That doesn't scare me." The sludge villain remarked, not being impressed.
"It's not supposed to. Battle Booster! Full Power!" Ren shouted as his right fist started to glow red again and he jumped at the sludge villain.
"No, stop!" Death Arm shouted.
"Is that kid trying to kill himself?!" Mount Lady said.
"You fool!" Kamui said in worry.
"Ren!" Yui shouted his name out loud.
The sludge villain just smiles, thinking he has already won. "YOU'RE MINE!" He said throwing multiple sludge tentacles at the boy in mid-air.
The tentacles hit Ren dead on as sparks were flying off his suit, but he power-threw the villain's attack and continued his assault at the sludge villain.
"What?!" The sludge villain said in surprise.
"Take this!" Ren shouted hitting the villain's body with his fist.
"EEHHH!" The sludge villain cried in pain, as Ren's attack caused a little red shockwave that pulled everything in the area back slightly.
The crowd and heroes brace themselves from the shockwave, as they hold their hands over their faces from the burst of wind pressure.
Ren used the shockwave to push himself back with a back flip as he slowly landed back on the ground. The attack managed to do major damage to the sludge villain, as he looked like he was reaching his limit. Ren knew it was the perfect time to finish him off.
"Rescue Blaster!" He pulled out his gun. "Ready, aim." Ren said pointing his gun at the villain.
"You wouldn't dare?" The sludge villain growled in pain.
"Fire!" Ren shouted, sending multiple laser shots at the sludge villain, dealing even more damage to him.
Ren turned around with his back facing the villain, then skillfully twirled his Rescue Blaster in his right hand before putting it back in its holster.
"NOOOOO! NOT AGAIN!" The sludge villain screamed in pain as electricity flowed through his sludge body, and then exploded with his body parts flying all over the alleyway. While Ren's back was turned at the explosion, looking like a complete badass.
Cause badasses don't need to look at explosions.
The crowd, Pro heroes, All Might, Midoriya, Bakugo, and Yui were staring at the scene with shocked looks on their faces.
"Power Down!" Ren said as his Ranger suit suddenly vanished, reverting him to his school uniform. Which surprises everyone yet again. "Man, I'm beaten." Ren feels exhausted from using the Ranger form as he holds himself up from collapsing.
"Not bad for his first morph, but he still got a long way to go." Holo-Tommy thought as he was impressed by how Ren handled that villain. But he still isn't used to using the Master Morpher, as he is tired from the battle.
Soon the crowd burst into a fanfare. Members of the media amongst them were also amazed at the shot they had captured. Usually, everyone expected the heroes to win. But now they were given a shock of their life when they witnessed a middle schooler do too.
"Did you see that?!" A man asked.
"His quirk is amazing!" Another guy said.
"What kind of quirk he has? It looked like magic." A teenager said.
"Who is he? And how did he make that costume of his appear and disappear?" His friend said.
"I don't know but it looked pretty cool!" A woman said.
"And did you see the way he turned around from that explosion?!" A guy said.
"Yeah, and it was awesome!" He said giving him a high five.
All Might was one of the few who had kept quiet, watching everything from the crowd. He was amazed that a child was able to defeat a dangerous villain single-handedly.
"Incredible." Was all Midoriya said, still stunned from the battle. He just wanted to know more about Ren's quirk and how it'd work.
Bakugo did say anything, he just looked at Ren with a glare, thinking that he didn't need help from that red spandex freak.
Yui was relieved that Ren was okay and impressed by how he defeated the sludge villain. She knew he had what it took to be a hero.
More words of praise came from the crowd, as some media even reported on it. Ren meanwhile, paid no attention as he scooped up the tiny puddle of the sludge villain and put him in a bottle. The villain was still alive and unconscious from the battle.
"I never imagined my first Ranger battle would be like this," Ren commented, finishing scooping up the villain.
In a matter of minutes, the police came to pick up the captured sludge villain and took him away. Some of the pros were interviewed by the media.
"Man, you're a tough kid! And that quirk is something else!" A hero complimented him. "When you wanna go pro, head over to my agency first! I'd love for you to be my sidekick while you're training!"
Bakugo just ignored what the Pro's were saying, and simply gave a scornful look towards Midoriya and Ren.
While Bakugo was being praised for being brave, Ren and Midoriya both were getting scowled by Death Arms and Kamui Woods for their actions.
"You moron! Do you have a death wish or something?!" Kamui Woods scolded the boy.
Death Arms quickly joined in as well. "There was absolutely no reason to put yourself in danger like that!" He said to him.
Ren was getting irritated with what the heroes were saying. They weren't doing anything to stop that villain. He and this green-haired guy were getting chewed out for jumping in to stop the sludge villain.
"And as for you." Death Arms turned his attention to Ren. "You may have done a good job saving the hostage and defeating that villain with that fancy quirk of yours, but you should left it to the professionals."
"Exactly." Kamui Woods nodded in agreement. "What you did was very brave, however, you shouldn't have intervened like that. It was really dangerous for a boy to do the job of a pro hero, you could've got hurt or worse killed." He said sounding deadly serious with a frown on his face.
"What?" Ren said in a low angry tone.
"You two are still young boys and civilians. It's our job to defend people like you, what you both did was extremely reckless even if you did help stop the villain." Kamui Woods responded still with the same tone and expression.
That was the last straw for Ren.
"Oh, would you two shut the hell up already!" Ren shouted at the two Pro, getting everyone's attention.
The cameraman was about to turn off his camera, but his reporter told him to keep filming and turned to where Ren was.
They both looked at Ren with shocking expressions, He just ignored them as he grabbed his bag and helped Midoriya up.
"You good?" Ren asked holding out his hand.
"Y-Y-Yes, thank you!" Midoriya nervously said grabbing his hand, as Ren pulled him back to his feet.
"Come on, let's get out of here," Ren said as they began to walk away from the scene.
Apparently, Ren made a few of the heroes angry for the way he talked to them.
"Hey, just where do think you going?" Death Arms asked the teen.
"What do you think? Where leaving." Ren answered not caring about his tone.
"You're not going anyway. You need to answer for what you did." Kamui Woods said to him.
"What I've done?" Ren said in anger. "This coming from the so-called heroes who did absolutely NOTHING!" He shouted the last part.
That caused the heroes and civilians to flinch at his change in tone. Even All Might was effective by what Ren said, as the cameraman was filming everything Ren said.
"From what I was seen, you idiots have no right calling yourselves heroes," Ren yelled out again.
They all looked beyond shocked, even Midoriya, Bakugo, Yui, and the heroes were surprised. All Might was listening to where Ren was going with this.
"You aren't heroes, the only thing you people are working for is fame and money. Being a hero means risking everything to save a life, and I remember seeing these so-called 'heroes' not doing anything. Even if your quirks aren't the correct ones or suitable for this situation, that shouldn't stop you from trying to help someone in danger." Ren said continuing to speak. "You were just waiting around for someone to show up and save this guy." Ren pointed at Bakugo. "And you know what would have happened if you didn't rescue him from the villain in time?"
They didn't bother to interrupt him, hearing what he was going to say next.
"That villain probably would have killed him by snapping his neck!" Ren said making everyone flinch.
The heroes when slightly pale from hearing that, but couldn't disagree with what he said. The chance of the villain doing that was a strong possibility.
Even Bakugo slightly flinched from that thought. That weak-ass sludge villain could have easily killed him if he wanted to.
"And do you know what you would have gotten?" Ren asked before saying. "A dead kid on your hands, because you didn't do anything to help him at all!"
The heroes didn't say anything, they just held their heads down in shame, realizing their mistake. Even All Might feel horrible for not doing anything to save Bakugo and leaving it to bystanders.
"But this guy right here...," Ren said pointing at Midoriya. "he was willing to jump into danger to save a person's life and he's quirkless. Even without a quirk of his own, he tried to help, throwing a backpack to blind the sludge villain, and clawing his eyes to slow him down. It wasn't much, but he tried to help in his own way." Ren said about what Midoriya did. "Neither of you heroes tried to help, you just stood there and watched like innocent bystanders. From what I saw, he's more of a hero than out of all of you combined." He yelled out to everyone.
Midoriya was taken by surprise by what he heard. For the first time in his life, someone actually believed that he could be a hero.
"Dang, this kid not holding anything back." Holo-Tommy was impressed by how Ren was scolding the heroes. But he couldn't disagree with what Ren said. If they had waited any longer who knows how bad things could have gotten.
"In my eyes, you all aren't anything but heroes. Until you decide to not care about your image or how rich you are. To me, both villains and heroes don't seem so different." Ren said wrapping his arm on Midoriya's back and beginning to walk away with him.
"Hey get back here!" Kamui Woods said stopping them. "What you said may be true, but that still doesn't change the fact that you illegally used your quirk to harm the villain."
"That's right kid! If you use your quirk without a license, then you broke the law." Death Arms add in.
"Oh, really now? Well, let me tell you all something." Ren said to the heroes. "That power I use just now isn't a quirk." Confusing everyone.
"Wait, what?" Kamui Woods and Death Arms said in confusion.
"I said it's not a quirk! I'M QUIRKLESS!" Ren shouted out loud for everyone to hear.
That surprised everyone there even more. A quirkless boy defeated a villain without powers. That was completely unheard of in the superhuman society.
The ones who were surprised the most were Midoriya, Bakugo, and Toshinori as their eyes widened in complete disbelief.
"Since I'm quirkless, I didn't break any laws. So you can't punish me for anything." Ren said looking at the heroes with an intense look. "Now move the hell out of my way!" He shouted at them.
Kamui Woods and Death Arms were now scared shitless of this kid and did what the new Ranger said. He and Midoriya left the scene with Yui following them from behind, leaving a baffled crowd and Heroes. They let what Ren said sink in, and they knew he was right. But what stunned them even more was that he announced that he was quirkless.
Bakugo meanwhile, remained seated on the floor watching Ren and Midoriya leave.
"I was saved... by two worthless quirkless losers?!" He grinned his teeth in anger. "First that useless nerd Deku and some spandex-wearing freak who claim to be quirkless!" He remembers the fight against the sludge villain and how that guy defeated him.
He couldn't even so much as hurt that villain, but some goddamn quirkless failure managed to do it. Now all the attention was on him. Everyone sees him as a strong hero, well everyone looks at him as a helpless weakling. He even had the balls to call that damn nerd that he was a fucking hero! What does he even know what it means to be a hero? He's just a goddamn useless quirkless pebble with some fancy-ass suit!
The anger and humiliation of being saved from a quirkless person was shown on Bakugo's face, and he slammed his fist on the ground. "Fuck!" He growled and picked up his bag. Ignoring the other heroes trying to comfort him, he walked the other way, continuing his train of thought. "This sucks! This sucks! This goddamn suuccckkkks! I'm supposed to be the strongest there is, and yet some quirkless nobody like Deku had to save me!" Bakugo thought becoming more angry by the second, as an image of Ren popped into his head. "I don't know who you are and I don't give a shit! But I won't let you upstage me again! I won't let you get away with this! I will become the number one hero someday! And if I ever meet you again, all fucking crush you like the quirkless insect you are!" Bakugo vowed to himself.
Musutafu Streets- Evening
The sky was bright orange as the sun was standing. Ren, Midoriya, and Yui were walking down the sidewalk until they were far away from the crowd of people.
"I think that's far enough," Ren said stopping, as did Midoriya and Yui. "You feeling alright man?" He asked Midoriya in concern.
"Oh, y-y-yes. I'm fine t-thank you for h-h-helping me!" Midoriya said with a bow.
"There's no need for bowing man." He said to the green-haired kid. "I'm just happy okay, um..."
"Midoriya! I'm Izuku Midoriya!" Midoriya said to him nervously.
"I'm Ren Amamiya and this is Yui Kodai, a classmate of mine." Ren introduced themselves.
"It's a pleasure to me you Amamiya and Kodai!" Midoriya said.
"Just call me Ren." Ren said until he felt something touching his arm. He turned to see Yui who bangs covering her eyes. "Yui?"
Then out of nowhere, Yui hugged Ren with her face barred in his chest. This act catches him and Midoriya by surprise.
"Yui? What's the matter?" Ren asked her feeling a little uncomfortable with how close she was to him.
"You're an idiot." She said still having her face in his crest.
"H-Huh?!" Ren said surprised that she said he was an idiot.
"I called you an Idiot," Yui said looking up at Ren, having a concerned look on her face. "How could you be so reckless? I get that you were trying to save those two, but you could have gotten yourself hurt or killed." Yui said to him.
"So you're just saying I should have just stood there and watched him kill them." Ren counters her question.
"That's not what I meant. I..." Yui trying to find the right words to say. "I was so worried about you. I thought that villain was going to kill you, but you won and I'm so happy that you're alright." She hailed onto him even more tightly.
Ren noticed Yui's body shudder slightly as if his words triggered something within her, but he wasn't sure exactly what. She had a sad expression on her face, something that the emotionless girl never showed. And Ren started to feel bad for what he had done. True he did stop that villain and saved Midoriya and Bakugo, but he made his friend worry about him. Ren signs to himself in disappointment.
"I'm sorry for worrying you like that Yui." Ren apologizes to her for returning the hug.
"I forgive you, but try to be less reckless, I hate seeing you like that." Yui said while whispering that last part. Ren is still bad for making her worried and wants to make it up to her.
Midoriya just awkwardly watched the two friends, but couldn't help but smile at the same time.
"Hey, Ren?" Midoriya called him out.
"Hm?" Ren looking at Midoriya, letting go of Yui.
"Did you really mean that? What do you say about me being a hero?" Midoriya asked him.
"Of course, I saw those heroes not do anything. Just watched as the villain began to sink into that blonde guy, but you with no quirk of your own, tried to help. Even if it wasn't much, you tried." Ren said to him with a smile.
Midoriya looked at Ren, as tears pooled in his eyes. He tried to hold himself back from crying. But the tears stained his freckled cheeks, finally hearing the words he had been longing for all those years.
"Midoriya I believe you can be a hero." Ren said patting the boy on the back.
Yui just looked at the two with a small smile. Ren used the same word of encouragement, she used on him to encourage Midoriya.
"Thank you, Ren. You don't know how long I want to hear those words." Midoriya said whipping tears away from his eyes.
"No problem." Ren said.
"Ren," Holo-Tommy whispered getting his attention. "I need to talk to you about something, and I want you to begin Midoriya and Yui along with you," Holo-Tommy said to him.
Ren raised an eyebrow at what Holo-Tommy said to him. "Why?" He asked.
"All explain later. Right now I want to talk to both of them, so I need you to take them to someplace private." Holo-Tommy said to him.
Ren didn't know what Holo-Tommy was planning, but trusted his judgment and did what he said.
"Hey Midoriya and Yui, there's something I wanted to talk to you two about," Ren said to them.
"What is it?" Midoriya asked.
"It's about my power," Ren said.
"Your power?" Yui said in confusion.
"Oh, yeah that's right! What is your power actually?! And how did you make that costume of yours appear out of nowhere?!" Midoriya wildly asked him.
"It's kind of hard to explain." Ren rubbed the back of his neck. "But it would be much easier to explain it if you come over to my place," Ren suggested.
"Sure." Midoriya said with a nod.
"How about you, Yui?" Ren asked his friend.
Yui nodded, being on board.
"Okay, just follow me." Ren said leading the way to his house.
A few moments later.
"I am here!" All Might in his muscle form, appearing from the corner. But he quickly realized that they were nowhere to be seen. "What the?! I could have sworn they were come by this way." All Might said confused as he was following Ren and Midoriya. "I was hoping to ask that black-haired boy about his strange powers and make Midoriya into my new successor. Maybe all meet them again at the U.A. entrance exam." All Might said before he left, hoping to see those two boys again.
