"So?"
"I don't know why you have me doing this, geek!" stated Rainbow as she was on a video call with Isaac.
"Come on, Rainbow. I wouldn't ask you to do this if I didn't think you could."
"So what? I'm supposed to teach her!?" said the athlete as she referenced Zipp.
"Not teach her, per se. Just… give her some pointers. She's alot like you."
"She's nothing like me! Besides, you know how I feel about teaching!"
"Rainbow… the future of the world depends on this. Literally. Just… give it a chance." said Isaac.
"I hate you, you know," said Dash. "Why? 'Cause she's the daughter of your sponsor, or she is trying to date your son?"
"What, no! I just… I need someone who can push her to her limits. And not just in terms of dueling; I need to see how she handles being under pressure when someone tries to push her to the edge, both mentally and physically. Someone who can push her buttons like never before. And the only person who can do that is someone who was like that years ago." said Isaac.
"You really see me in her?" asked Rainbow as she rubbed her temple.
"More than you see."
"Alright, I'll do it," said Dash, as it seemed she would have to make the trip to CHS to scout out this Zipp Storm that her friend was speaking about.
"I knew I could count on you. Remember, don't hold back on her. Let her have it." said Isaac, not just referring to Rainbow's dueling skills.
"Yeah, I know the drill. Talk some smack, get in her face, yadda yadda," said the athlete, as this wasn't anything new to her.
"One more thing. When you duel her, use what I sent you," the World Champion smiled as the video ended.
Rainbow looked at a nearby table as she received a package from her friend. She approached the package and ripped it open; inside was a very small card case. Rainbow opened it, letting out a small glowing light that died down.
"So, let me get this straight? You smacked talk one of our aunts?" said Roll to Zipp.
"What else was I supposed to do? She ran not only me down but also Hitch and Izzy. Disrespecting us. Just because she paved the way for us doesn't mean we follow her footsteps!" argued Zipp.
"I mean, I'm not saying you shouldn't have stood your ground, but… my aunt Rainbow ain't someone who lies down for anybody," stated the girl.
"How can someone like that be your aunt?" asked the heiress.
"I mean, she's not technically my biological aunt, but moreso she's a close friend of my mother and father, so she's like a godmother to me and Mario. Anyways, that's not the issue."
"No, the issue is you're gonna get your ass kicked!" stated Mario as he sat a few inches from Zipp on the couch.
"Whose side are you on, lover boy?!"
"Nobody," smiled Mario, "I just want to see your pride get knocked down a bit."
"I hate you," mumbled Zipp as she leaned back against the couch and folded her arms.
"Hey, when Rainbow turns it on. She turns it the fuck on," stated Mario as a little warning to the heiress for the incoming pain she was going to be in for.
"Look, I know this is a big deal for Zipp. She's taking on a professional duelist, like your father, Roll. But can we save that for tomorrow? We're here for karaoke. Let's have fun!" said Sunny.
The group was at a building that hosted karaoke as Sunny wanted to do a fun group activity. And the girl thought nothing could bring friends together than some singing as they were all in a lounge, awaiting their turn. And in the meantime, Zipp was informing the rest of their friends about her little run-in with Dash earlier in the day.
"She's right. Let's just… forget this for right now and take our minds off of things. Like Sunny said, let's have fun." said Hitch, backing up his best friend.
"Simp," remarked Mario as Zipp elbowed the boy in the side as he groaned.
Eventually, the group was called, and they began to enjoy a night of karaoke to ease their minds. But Zipp still had her main focus on Rainbow and the upcoming duel.
"Are you sure about this, Isaac?" said Juniper as she was in the back of the parked limo with her client.
"Don't worry, Juniper. I'll be fine," said the World Champion as he opened the door and exited. "I'll see you in a few hours."
The World Champion shut the door as the limo left him alone. He stood before a building as it was a small pub. The duelist was here for a reason as he adjusted his cap and proceeded to head into one of the locals' most popular destinations. Upon entering, there were quite a number of patrons and regulars as a few looked in the direction of the World Champion; Isaac merely kept his gaze to himself so as to not cause a scene or rub anybody the wrong way, given he wasn't from around here. He headed in the direction of a table as the person waiting for him. The cowboy hat they had on was a dead ringer and stuck out like a sore thumb in this pub.
Applejack sat at a table with a bottle of cider next to her while holding a shot glass. The cowgirl was tracing the edge of the glass as she sensed something behind her. Her suspicions were confirmed as Isaac approached the front and sat across from her. The two friends looked at each other as a female server arrived at their table.
"What do you want, love?"
"Take a pint of your signature. And a shot of cider," said Isaac, keeping his gaze on the country gal.
"Right, love," said the woman as she feted the man's drinks.
"Seems you've been taking in some of the local culture on this tour," said Aj.
"It passes the time," responded Isaac as his drinks were brought and the woman poured his glass. "Leave the bottle."
"Very well," said the waitress as the World Champion handed her a fat tip and she left.
"Why'd you do it, Aj?"
"What do you mean, sugar?"
"Why? You could've just asked me. I would've given it to you."
"You think this is what it's about?" responded the country gal as she sipped her drink.
"Then what is about?" asked Isaac firmly.
"Sugar, it's nothing personally. But I did what I had to do. I went to the board and demanded that they give me one more match with you. And I got it. The final day of this tour for us, the biggest arena in the UK. It's me and you. 70,000 fans attendin'."
"I just don't get it, Aj. Why go through all that trouble for something I would have given you in a heartbeat? You're my friend. You're like family, and not just to me, but to Twilight and my kids. You and the girls are like aunts to my kids. They love you. And aren't you the one who says friends are your family?" said Isaac.
"Listen, sugar… when our match ended in a draw, it left a sour taste in my mouth."
"You think I don't know that. I didn't like how it ended either! I also wanted to have a rematch with you. But… not the way you went about it. Anybody else I would expect to do this, not someone who's near and dear to my heart."
"That's why I need this. Isaac… I know I can beat you," stated the country gal with a firm tone and gaze. "I know… I can beat you. Many people might believe, but I know I can. I just need… one… more… match! One more match! That's all I want!"
Isaac sat in silence as he listened to Aj's reasoning. The World Champion sighed, knowing that Aj was set on her goal.
"By the way, Twilight told me. Been dealing with Shadow magic."
"Yeah."
"Well, when it comes to savin' the world, I got yer back."
"Appreciate that," said the World Champion.
"But right now, my focus is on you. So understand, sugar, no disrespect, but… when I beat you, you'll have more time to solve this mystery and more time for your family. It'll be a nice trip to send you on." responded Applejack, with some smugness in her voice.
The World Champion tightened his scowl as he picked up his drink and took his shot. Applejack did the same, as it was clear that both duelists were thinking about their upcoming match. And the situation involved in getting it to happen.
The following day came, and the dueling arena building was full of Applebloom's class. Zipp was getting herself mentally ready for her duel with Rainbow; the girl's friends were with her, trying to give her some words of encouragement.
"Remember to center your mind. And think about the Elden moons of the olden…"
"Izzy!" shouted the others as the girl went off on one of her inner peace tangents.
"Enough with the hippie talk!" stated Mario.
"I'm just trying to help."
"I appreciate the help, Izzy. But I think I'm good," said Zipp as she felt like she was ready for whatever Rainbow might throw at her.
"Just remember, rich girl. We'll be here to scrap you off the floor when you're done paying rent," smirked Mario as Zipp glared at her friend for saying that.
"Good luck. You're seriously gonna need it," said Roll as the group left for their seats.
Zipp took a deep breath as she focused her mind to concentrate. The teen opened her eyes and proceeded to walk forward. She reached the end of the corridor and came to the field as she saw her classmates and friends; the girl got a small cheer as she got on the field to look at Applebloom.
"Just do your best," said the farm gal as she left to take her seat and evaluate the girl's performance.
Zipp turned as she looked at the corridor and waited for her challenger. It didn't take long before Rainbow made her presence known; the pro-duelist appeared with her shades on and proceeded to the field. She approached Zipp as the teen stood her ground and glared; Rainbow removed her shades and folded them to hang on her shirt collar before looking at the teen. Internally, she let out a sigh as she was still questioning Isaac's intent regarding the girl before her. Regardless, she was here to teach the girl a lesson and to know where her place was, and that's exactly what she would do.
"Let's get this over with," said Rainbow, turning her back on Zipp and proceeding to her end of the field.
"Right," said Zipp, preparing to activate her duel disk.
"Oh, by the way, here!" said Dash as she tossed a jersey at the girl's face.
Zipp removed the clothing and looked to see it was a jersey that had her name on it and was crossed out, along with a bunch of other names.
"Consider it a reminder. Of who evicted you from this house!" stated Rainbow as Zipp glared and felt her anger starting to boil over. All the while, Rainbow smirked as she was already getting in the teen's head and looked to capitalize on it.
"Let's do this shit!" shouted Zipp, the anger she had came out and activated her duel disk to project a white card tray.
"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.
"Let's duel!" shouted both Zipp and Rainbow as they drew their opening hand.
Rainbow Dash's Life Points: 8000-
Zipp Storm's Life Points: 8000-
Their portraits were shown on the big screen along with their Life Point counter under them before Zipp's was highlighted.
Turn 1: Zipp (Hand 5)
"Time to kick this duel off and show you!" exclaimed the girl as she drew. "Since I control no monsters, I can special summon my Speedroid Terrortop(1200/600) from my hand!" A snake made of tops appeared with a set of fangs at the head. "And when I summon my Terrortop, I can add a 'Speedroid' monster to my hand. So I add my Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice(100/100) and summon it. And when Red-Eyed Dice is summoned, I can activate its ability. I can change the Level of a 'Speedroid' on my field from 1 to 6. So I change Terrortop's Level from 4 to 2! And now… I tune my Red-Eyed Dice with my Terrortop!" Zipp's dice monster turned into a single green ring, circling her other monster as a yellow light surged through.
"I Synchro Summon! Hi-Speedroid Cork Shooter(500/1000)!" stated the girl as her weaponized pop gun emerged. "And now I activate Cork Shooter's ability. So I can bring back the monsters I used to summon it." Zipp's former monsters appeared as the girl smiled. "Now, I tune my Red-Eyed Dice with my Terrortop to bust out a second monster to help!" Zipp's monster once more turned into a single green ring that circled her other monster, surrounded by a yellow light that surged through. "I Synchro Summon, Hi-Speedroid Puzzle(1300/1600)!" Out came a robotic humanoid monster dressed as a ninja, having only a single eye while the rest of its face was covered up and having a cannon as a right hand.
"Basic shit!" scoffed Rainbow, showing she downplayed Zipp's move.
"Don't worry, I'll pick up things. For now, I'll set this facedown. Your move, bitch!" stated the teen.
Turn 2: Rainbow (Hand 5)
Rainbow drew her card and looked at it from the corner of her eye.
No mercy.
The words of Isaac echoed in Dash's mind as she smiled.
"Time to make your pathetic move even more pathetic," said Rainbow.
"I'd like to see you try!" barked Zipp.
"Fine. Since I control no cards, I activate my spell, Speedraw! Now, I can draw two cards by sending a 'Speedroid' monster from my hand to my graveyard. So, I'm choosing to send my Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice.!" stated Dash as she discarded her monster before drawing her next two cards and looking at them with a smile. "I'll then use these two monsters, Speedroid Marble Machine and Speedroid Dominobutterfly, to set the Pendulum Scale!"
"Wait, what?!" said the girl as she was shocked to hear Rainbow's move.
Dash placed her two pendulum cards on the far end of her card trays with the word pendulum spelled out in between. Her two monsters appeared in columns of light on her field with their respective numbers in front of them. ZIpp and the other students gasped and were awed at seeing the pro duelist using such powerful cards.
"Next, I summon Speedroid Double Yoyo(1400/1400)!" A machine with two giant yoyos as wheels emerged as it zoomed into place. "Then I activate Double Yoyo's ability! It allows me to revive a Level 3 or lower 'Speedroid' monster in my graveyard. So welcome back, Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice(300/1500). A dice pyramid appeared, with an eye on all sides. "I tune my Level 4 Double Yoyo with my Level 3 Tri-Eyed Dice!" shouted Dash as her die monster turned into three giant green rings that rotated around her other monster as a yellow light surged through. "Beat your wings to whip up a whirlwind of destruction! I Synchro Summon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon(2500/2000)!" The duelist's dragon appeared as its eyes glowed before letting out a fierce roar.
"Oh, she's done," said Mario as it was already game over for Zipp.
"No… way," said Zipp, now coming face to face with one of Rainbow's most powerful cards in her deck.
"Clear Wing, attack her Hi-Speedroid Puzzle!" declared Rainbow as her dragon soared toward its target.
"Due to Puzzle's effect, its attack points are doubled when it battles your dragon! So I won't be taking as much damage as I would be!" stated Zipp as her monster rushed forward to intercept the dragon. It fired its cannon arm, which Clear Wing opened its mouth to return fire; the two attacks met before Clear Wing pushed back and took out Zipp's monster with ease.
Zipp's Life Points: 7700-
The attack was so powerful that the teen covered up, and it caused her to fall to a knee. It soon stopped a few moments as Zipp took deep breaths before lifting her head to look at Rainbow, who stood confidently.
"Five minutes, and I already know this wasted my time. Look at you. You're trying to ball with me? I'm of a different caliber. You could have a 40-inch vertical, and your fingertips still couldn't touch the level that I'm on! See, here's another lesson. Ego is loud, and confidence is quiet. When a duel starts, I know I'm number one. And like I said before, when Rainbow shoots, Rainbow don't miss. Because I am HER." stated Dash. "Now then… anything you wanna waste my time with?"
Turn 3: Zipp (Hand 4)
"It's my move!" stated the girl, drawing her card. "I'll start by activating Speed Recovery! So now I can bring back my Speedroid Puzzle! Then since I control a WIND monster, I can also summon my Speedroid CarTurbo(800/1200)! Next, I activate my Speedroid CarTurbo's effect, by banishing it alongside my Speedroid Terrortop, I can give my Puzzle 800 more attack points until the end of the turn!" stated the teen. "Then I'll have Hi-Speedroid Puzzle attack your Clear Wing! And remember, when it battles your special summoned monster, its attack points double!"
Zipp's monster rushed forward as it was closing on the beast that was Rainbow's. As the humanoid robot got closer, Rainbow kept a cool and calm look as the ninja jumped and looked to destroy her beast.
"By banishing my Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice, I can negate your attack!" said Rainbow as her dragon flew upward and avoided Zipp's monster.
"I was afraid of that," mumbled the girl.
"Five minutes in, and you're already way behind. Game recognized game? Nah, you ain't got no game!" stated Rainbow as she pointed at Zipp.
"I got plenty of game in me! Just watch!" shouted the teen.
"Please, what do you think we're playing? You think we're going for tik for tat, cuz we go tat tat tat, and that's all it is. And that's all it's gonna be!" responded Rainbow to the girl.
Zipp growled after hearing Dash's response.
"I'm starting to see it on your face. You're starting to realize that you can't beat me. You don't have what it takes, Zipp. No matter what you do, I'm always gonna be on your radar. And I get it; I understand your aspirations, the passion, the desire, because I'm the exact same!"
"We're not the same!" responded Zipp.
"Aren't we? Two duelists, one spot," smirked Rainbow as she was doing her job that Isaac asked and getting under the girl's skin to push her limits.
"All right, yeah, you know what I'm starting to realize, though, Rainbow?"
"What's that?"
"It must be tough looking at me?" stated the girl.
"Pff. Please," scoffed Rainbow dismissing Zipp's comment.
"It's like looking at a younger, better, more athletic version of yourself from 15 years ago. Listen, you started before me. And that's cool, but look at where you at now, you back. And things have changed since you last were here, and I plan on showing you that!"
"Yeah, you're doing a hell of a job at it," responded the cocky Dash.
"What you need to realize, Dash, is that you are the past, and I'm the present!" stated Zipp, standing her ground as she ended her turn.
"Well… the funny thing about the past… is that it can always predict the future," countered Rainbow with a smile.
Turn 4: Rainbow (Hand 3)
"My move! I summon Speedroid Ultra Hound(800/800)!" An ultra hand appeared as the front had a set of jaws that resembled that of a dog and barked. "When I summon this guy, I send one 'Speedroid' monster from my deck to my graveyard. So I'll get rid of my Speedroid Passinglider!" stated the chromatic-haired duelist as she sent her card away. "Now, Clear Wing, attack her Hi-Speedroid Puzzle!"
"Once again, my Puzzle's attack points double so I don't take that much damage!" stated Zipp as she avoided another serious hit as her monster was destroyed.
Zipp's Life Points: 7400-
"I place one card facedown. Let's see if you can actually make a move!" stated Dash.
Turn 5: Zipp (Hand 3)
"Here goes! I summon my Speedroid Ohajikid(1000/200)!" Out emerged a small vigilante humanoid, wearing a torn cape and a bycocket with a feather on it as only one of its eyes was revealed, and was flicking a coin between his thumb and index finger. "When Ohajikid is summoned, I can snag a Tuner monster from either graveyard and summon it to my field. So I'm taking my Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice back! And then activating Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice's effect to change my Ohajikid from Level 3 to 5. Then I tune both my Ohajikid and Red-Eyed Dice!" Zipp's monster became a single giant green ring that rotated her other monster as a yellow light surged through.
"I call forth a mystical cross-sword with the power to cut every enemy down to size! I Synchro Summon, Hi-Speedroid Kendama(2200/1600)!" stated Zipp. "And I activate Kendama's effect by banishing my Ohajikid, I can deal you 500 points of damage!"
"Nice try! I reveal my facedown, Speedroid Shuriken Hurricane! Thanks to the power of this trap, I can stop your effect, and you take it instead of me!" exclaimed Rainbow as a wind blew over the field, and Zipp covered up as it blew in her face.
Zipp's Life Points: 6900-
"In that case, Kendama attack her Ultra Hound!" stated Zipp. "And even though your monster is in defense mode, Kendama's other ability allows it to deal piercing damage!" Her monster rushed forward and collided with Rainbow's tiny monster as she didn't flinch at her monster's destruction.
Rainbow's Life Points: 6600-
"And since you don't have a 'Speedroid' monster, your trap is also destroyed. Looks like the scoreboard is even!" smiled Zipp.
"Really? I didn't notice. Because I don't keep score, I just keep scoring!" remarked Rainbow. "Listen, I'mma tell you something about greatness. There's greatness, there's you- Just above it- And then there's Rainbow Dash. And something that I think we need to face, Zipp, is you just might not be cut out for all this. You just might not be built for this lifestyle. And you have to face that, actually, you know what? Hold on real quick. Let's go ahead and let's drop some banners for the kid, y'all. Let's talk about your accomplishments! Oh, wait, you don't have any!"
Zipp growled after hearing Rainbow's latest mockery and disrespect.
"Where they at dog?"
"Okay, you wanna go there? How about we talk about your duel with the World Champ, huh?"
"Let's talk about it," smirked Dash.
"Tell me how it feels knowing your ass nearly got beat by a rookie yesterday?" stated Zipp as she praised Hitch's efforts the prior day for almost beating Rainbow.
"Okay, okay, hey listen, kid, six out of ten. That's still three more points than any guy you've ever been with and trying to get into your pants. Let's talk about it!" countered Rainbow as she hit Zipp below with the belt with that one. Even Pipp had to put her hand over her mouth as that was a serious burn to her older sister.
"What is it you say? When you shoot, you don't miss."
"I don't!" said Dash with swagger.
"Well, after I beat you, you're gonna need to think long and hard about how you're gonna reinvent yourself for the 53rd time!" remarked Zipp.
"I can't make everybody famous, kid. But I'll tell you like this. You wanna smoke with me? I got a leaf and a lighter for you because the A champ ain't never back down from a fight and never will!" stated Rainbow.
"Prove it! I end my turn!"
Turn 6: Rainbow (Hand 2)
"It's my turn! And I'll begin by activating the effect of my Ultra Hound. By banishing it from my graveyard, I can target one 'Speedroid' monster in my graveyard and shuffle it back into my deck. So I'll take back my Speedroid Passinglider." Rainbow's duel disk ejected her card as she placed it on top of her deck, and the auto shuffler kicked in. "Then I'm allowed to summon a 'Speedroid' Synchro Monster from my deck that has the same level as the monster I returned as long as I negate its effects. So I summon my Hi-Speedroid Hagotia(2000/1000)!" A weaponized paddle appeared as it zoomed all over the place before taking its spot before Rainbow.
"Now, Hagotia, attack her Cork Shooter!" stated Rainbow as her monster rushed forward and crashed into Zipp's monster resulting in its destruction. "Clear Wing, attack her Kendama! Spin Storm Sky Strike!" Her dragon roared before ascending upwards quickly; it then reached maximum height before diving down and spinning rapidly as it crashed into Zipp's other monster.
Zipp's Life Points: 6300-
"I place one card facedown and end my turn."
Turn 7: Zipp (Hand 3)
"My move. To start, I'll activate Speed Recovery! So I can revive my Hi-Speedroid Puzzle!" stated Zipp. "Then I'll activate this… the spell card, Hi-Speed Re-Level! By banishing my Cork Shooter, I can target my Puzzle and change its level to that of my Cork Shooter, and it gains 500 attack points per level until the end of the turn. So since my Cork Shooter is Level 3, Puzzles gains 1500 extra attack points!" shouted the girl as her monster's strength shot up to 2600. "Puzzle, slay that dragon! And thanks to its effect when it battles, its attack points are doubled."
"That's a grand total of 5200! She might actually take it down!" said Sunny, at how their friend was about to do an impossible task.
"Looks like I'm the one who's making buckets!" exclaimed Zipp.
"Kid, you ain't fit to lace my kicks! Just like you ain't fit to belong on the same dueling field with me! I activate my facedown, Follow Wing! Thanks to this trap, my Clear Wing Synchro Dragon can't be destroyed by battle or by card effects!" exclaimed Rainbow.
"Well, you still take damage!" responded the teen as her monster fired its cannon arm at the dragon who tanked the hit, while Rainbow didn't budge.
Rainbow's Life Points: 3900-
"Let's see you talk your talk, now, Dash. I end my turn."
Turn 8: Rainbow (Hand 3)
"When this duel's done, I'm gonna put you in the powerlines! My move, and I activate the pendulum ability of my Speedroid Dominobutterfly. By discarding a WIND monster, I can retrieve one of my banished WIND monsters and add it to my hand. So I'll take back my Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice!" stated Rainbow as her duel disk ejected the card for her to grab. "Next, I summon Tri-Eyed Dice! And then, I tune my Hagotia with my Tri-Eyed Dice to pave the way for an even mightier beast!" The dice monster turned into three giant green rings as they rotated around its comrade, and a yellow light surged through. "Watch as the essence of that monster takes shape! Watch as it is forged by raw power! I Synchro Summon! Take flight, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon(3000/2500)!"
"Yeah, it's over," said Mario, as Zipp had no chance of winning.
"You don't mean that right?" said Pipp.
"Yup. She's done. I told you, when she turns it on, she turns it on!" stated Mario, as he knew from experience that Rainbow had already won.
"Crystal Wing, attack her Hi-Speedroid Puzzle!" instructed Rainbow.
"Puzzle's effect kicks in and doubles its attack points during the battle."
"Well, then… I activate Crystal Wing's special ability. When a monster's effect is activated, I can negate it and eradicate the monster. Then my Crystal Wing gains the attack points of the monster it destroyed! Go Reverse Revenge!" shouted Rainbow as her dragon lit up with power and eradicated Zipp's monster leaving her defenseless and making her Clear Wing's strength rise to 5200. "Attack! Crystal Castclysmic Strike!"
Rainbow's dragon roared as it began to zigzag all over the air and zoomed toward Zipp. The girl blinked as she was pelted by the beast, knocking her down and tumbling on the field.
Zipp's Life Points: 1100-
"I told you. When I shoot, I don't miss. Clear Wing, finish her. Spin Storm Sky Strike!" exclaimed Rainbow.
"I… reveal my facedown, Back to the Front! I can bring back a monster in defense mode from my graveyard. So my Kendama rises to protect my Life Points!" stated Zipp as she managed to get to a knee and activate her trap in time to block the final blow from Dash.
"I end my turn with a facedown!"
Turn 9: Zipp (Hand 2)
"It's my move. And I play Pot of Greed to draw two more cards!" stated Zipp as she placed her fingers on top of her deck and hoped to get something to deal with both of Rainbow's dragons. "Let's hope this works. First, I play Mystical Space Typhoon to take out your Follow Wing trap card. Then I activate my Kendama's ability! Since it's in my graveyard and I control no cards, I can revive it! Then I activate this spell card, Quill Pen of Gulldos. So I target 2 WIND monsters in my graveyard and one card on the field. I choose your Crystal Wing Dragon. Then I shuffle both of my monsters back into my deck, and yours is returned to your hand! But since Crystal Wing is a Synchro monster, it goes to your Extra Deck. Meaning you have to resummon it all over again."
"Does it look like I care!" responded Rainbow as her monster disappeared; the Extra Deck compartment of her duel disk opened as she put it there.
"Next, since I control a WIND monster, I can special summon my Speedroid CarTurbo(800/1200). And then I summon this little thing, Windwitch - Snow Bell(100/100)." A small white bell appeared with wings at the top.
"That's one of the cards your father gave her," said Pipp as Mario looked on closely.
"I tune all three of my monsters!" proclaimed Zipp as she was looking to bring out a new monster given to her by the World Champion. Four giant green rings rotated around Zipp's Kendama as a yellow light surged through. "I Synchro Summon, Baronne De Fleur(3000/2400)!" Out came a female warrior on a white steed as both were draped in golden garments and the wind blew around their hair and mane with rose petals.
"That's new!" said Hitch, as they'd never seen Zipp play that monster before.
"I activate Baronne de Fleur's special ability! Once per turn, she can destroy one card on the field. And I choose your Clear Wing!"
"No, you won't! Because I activate Clear Wing's ability, it not only pumps the brakes on your monster's ability, but it eradicates it, and when it's destroyed, it gains its attack points!" proclaimed Rainbow.
"In that case, let me introduce you to Baronne de Fleur's other effect. I can negate the activation of a card or effect and then destroy it. Oh, and because I used Snow Bell to synchro summon this monster, its effect makes it so that card effects can't destroy Baronne de Fleur! So your dragon is now useless!" shouted Zipp.
"No!" said Rainbow as she looked to see her monster disappear as Zipp's new monster countered it.
"She actually got rid of both of Rainbow's dragons! Wow!" said Sunny as she couldn't believe that Zipp managed to have the skills to pull it off.
"I told you, Rainbow. This ain't your house anymore. It's mine! This is the house that I built, and I'm about to evict you! Baronne de Fleur, attack her directly!"
The horsewoman began to charge forward as it lifted its golden sword up while closing in on Dash. The pro duelist looked at Zipp as she merely raised her. She then lifted her other hand up and closed all but her middle finger, flicking off Zipp before using that finger to touch her duel screen.
"I activate my facedown, Dice Roll Battle! When you declare an attack, this trap allows me to banish a 'Speedroid' monster from my graveyard and a 'Speedroid' tuner from my hand. So I banish my Hi-Speedroid Hagoita and my Speedroid Den-Den Daiko Duke. So that I can resummon my Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!" shouted Rainbow as her two monsters appeared before one turned into three giant green rings and rotated around the other as a yellow light surged through. A moment later, her mighty beast appeared and roared.
"I then activate Dice Roll Battle's other effect. By banishing it, your monster is now forced to face my dragon. And thanks to Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's effect, it gains the attack points of the monster it battles!"
"But.. that means…"
"Nothing but net! I told you! I am HER! Now get the hell out of my field!" proclaimed Rainbow.
Crystal Wing roared as Zipp's monster couldn't stop its attack and looked to slay the dragon with its sword. Crystal Wing roared as it took to the air and began to zig-zag all over the place before charging toward the knight and colliding with it. The attack sent a massive shockwave back as Zipp tried to hang on but fell to the ground with a grunt.
Zipp's Life Points: 0-
Winner: Rainbow Dash
The duel ended as everything returned back to normal. The heiress got to her hands and knees and looked at her reflection in her duel disk. Her expression told the whole story; Rainbow scoffed as she looked at the teen before speaking.
"When I shoot, I don't miss. And that's all it is," Rainbow removed her shades from her shirt and flicked them open, "And that's all it gonna be." She slipped them on before turning to walk away and letting Zipp wallow in her failure.
The heiress sat with her arm resting on her knee as the words said by Rainbow echoed in her mind. She had the jersey with her name crossed out, which added to her disappointment and sadness. She began to sniff as she tried to hide the tears starting to form.
Ego is loud, and confidence is quiet.
Sometime later, Mario and Roll were in the living room of their dorm. The girl was on her laptop while her brother sat on the other couch and was playing a video game on the TV. Soon a knock came on their door.
"Roll, get the door. I'm busy!" said Mario, too focused on his video game.
"Of course," said the girl as she rolled her eyes.
The teen pushed pause on the game she was playing on her laptop to get up. She made her way to the door and opened it to reveal it was none other than Rainbow.
"Hey, Auntie Dash," said the girl.
"Sup, kiddo," stated Rainbow as the girl gave her a hug and she rubbed the top of her head. "Cool, if I come in for a sec?"
"Yeah," responded Roll as she allowed Rainbow to enter.
Mario shifted his gaze to see Dash as he paused his game to get up.
"Hey, auntie," said the boy, addressing one of his godparents.
"Sup, dude," smiled Rainbow at her godchild and gave him a quick bro hug. "How, you hanging?"
"Doing alright," responded Mario as he sat down with Rainbow taking a seat next to Roll. "Dad sent you, didn't he?"
"Yeah, but… not for what you think. I just wanted to see you both were doing. I heard you two got in trouble last semester," said Rainbow.
"Yeah, well, a thing of the past," responded Mario.
"I can only imagine how your egghead of a mother might have reacted," snickered Dash as she could see Twilight's overreacting when she found out about her kids nearly getting suspended and expelled. "Anyways, before I leave, I got you two some gifts."
Rainbow pulled out some gifts from inside the backpack she brought with her and handed them to her godchildren.
"Thanks, Auntie," said Roll as she took her gift and opened it to find some brand-new AirPods for her.
"Yeah, thanks for the new kicks, auntie," stated Mario nonchalantly as Rainbow had gotten the boy some of the latest new sneakers to release from her endorsement brand deal she did.
"Hey, nothing but the best and most awesomest stuff for my two godchildren. Plus, it makes you both look 20% cooler," bragged Dash, stroking her ego. "So, Celestia tells me the Friendship Games are coming up? You thinking of entering?" The question was more directed to Mario.
"I don't know, auntie. You know I'm not exactly a team player these days," responded the boy.
"I was the exact same way. Until your geek of a father convinced me that you can't always do everything yourself. Sometimes… you need friends who are loyal and will stand by you no matter what." said Rainbow. "Now, look, I'm not trying to blow smoke up your ass, but… your dad does care about you."
"Yeah," responded Mario with a deadpan tone as he looked downward.
"Well, listen. It was nice to check up on you two," said Rainbow as she pulled Roll in for a hug and smiled. "But I have one last thing to do before heading out, and I need your help."
"What is it?" asked Roll.
A knock on the door was heard a while later as Mario opened it, and there stood Zipp.
"What do you want, lover boy? I'm not exactly in the mood," said the heiress as she received the text from Mario to come over to his dorm. She was still feeling down about her loss that she didn't want to be around anybody, but yet… she complied with his request.
"Come in," said Mario as he stood to the side to allow the girl to enter his home.
Zipp entered and immediately stopped upon seeing Rainbow sitting in the living room. She looked at Mario, who walked past her.
"What's the deal?" asked Zipp.
"I asked them to fetch you!" stated Rainbow as she stood up.
"Look, you were right. I'm… nobody. I'm… Just let me have it. Run me down." said Zipp as she was ready to take any insult Rainbow had prepped.
"I'll be straightforward with you, kid. I told you that I was gonna beat you. It's not just a cool catchphrase I say or something for me to put on a t-shirt. When I shoot, I don't miss. Remember that!" said Rainbow as Zipp fully understood Rainbow's saying was more than just hype; it was reality. "Now, another thing. Do I believe you can be the best around here and take this school to new heights? Absolutely. But do I think you can do it better than me? Absolutely… NOT!"
Zipp remained quiet and kept her head down as she let Rainbow's harsh words sink in.
"But… maybe that's a good thing," said the older athlete.
Zipp lifted her head to look at her.
"I came to CHS for a reason. And it's because of their father," said Rainbow, pointing behind her at Mario and Roll.
"You?" said Zipp as she recalled that before they left back to school, Isaac had told her he would send someone for Zipp to meet.
"So take this with a grain of salt, kid. You have alot of work to do if you even want to have a chance to be mentioned in the same category as me. So get to it!" said Rainbow.
Zipp looked at the pro duelist with awe.
"Here!" said Rainbow as she unclipped the deck box on her side and pulled out some cards. "He wanted me to hand these only if I determined you were worthy. You ain't… at least… not now."
Zipp looked at the cards before slowly taking them. She flipped them over and gasped as among the cards Rainbow was giving her was a copy of her Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.
"Good luck with your semester. And be sure to kick Crystal Prep's ass for me in the Friendship Games," smiled Rainbow as she slipped on her backpack to walk past the teen.
The pro athlete exited the dorm as the teens stood in the doorway to see her off. Rainbow stopped to look at her godchildren to speak.
"I'll tell your father you two said hi."
"See ya, Auntie," responded Mario.
Rainbow smirked before pulling out her shades and flicking them open. She slid them on and tilted them a bit before walking off.
"I am HER! And when I shoot, I don't miss!" said Rainbow to herself as she was to report to Isaac about her mission.
