A massive assembly was held at Crystal Prep as the top students were gathered. They stood before a massive board as Principal Sombra appeared. The man held his intimidating presence as he adjusted his suit before standing before his students. The students all straightened up as they knew better than to slouch in the presence of their leader. The cold, calculated man didn't say much as he pushed a button; behind him came the scores of the top students present. However, at the top was none other than Sombra's #1 student and the person who dominated the school in both academia and extracurriculars. The student smiled and stood before her principal.
"When do we leave?" she said with a smile.
At CHS, Celestia and Luna sat across from each other. The two sisters counted the votes from the last pile and kept a tally. Eventually, the two finished the last pile as Celestia held her clipboard, and Luna did the same. They compared votes and looked at each other to discuss before reaching their decision. Celestia then reached for her office phone.
"Raven, send Ms. Starscout to my office," said the principal.
"Now, who can tell me the answer to this problem?" asked Ms. Harshwhinny as she stood before a math problem.
Sunny and Roll were the only two in their Math Concepts class to raise their hands. The PA system went off just as the teacher was about to call on one of them.
"Sunny Starscout. Please report to Principal Celestia's office!"
The girl was stricken with fear after hearing that. Nearly everybody looked at her as if she had committed a crime. The teen looked at her teacher, who gestured her to the door, so with a heavy gulp, Sunny left her classroom and proceeded to Celestia's office. The walk there was like she was being sentenced to death row; each step she took resonated with her heartbeat as it got heavier and louder with each passing moment. The girl soon arrived at her destination as she opened the door and there was Ms. Raven Inkwell behind her desk.
"She'll see you," said the receptionist as Sunny quietly nodded before entering Celestia's office, which closed with a thud.
"Alright, final offer, lover boy. I'll trade ya two stacks of mint, one jawbreaker, and some gummy worms, and you give me that peanut cameral brittle, sour patches, and one gumball."
"You got yourself a deal, rich girl," said Mario.
He stuck his hand out as Zipp shook on the trade. The two teens were sitting in the tree above the others as they were doing some candy business; Zipp finally managed to work a deal with the boy to get what she wanted.
"How about this one?" asked Roll as she held a catalog of art supplies.
"Ooh, does it come in purple?" asked Izzy as she was looking to buy some new supplies.
"Guys, guys!" shouted Sunny.
The group all heard the voice of their friend as they saw her running across campus and heading toward them.
"What's the rush, Sunny?" asked Hitch to his childhood friend.
"You… won't believe it," said the girl as she had sparkles in her eyes. "The school voted me to be Team Captain for CHS in the Friendship Games!"
"Wow, that's awesome!" said Hitch as he was proud of Sunny that her dream of representing the school came true.
"Nice work, Sunny," said Zipp from above.
"There's even some more good news. I get to select my teammates!" said Sunny, as she was responsible for putting together a strong team to represent CHS in the Friendship Games.
"That's quite a tall task," said Roll.
"Well, there are some rules. I have to pick my team from the list of individuals who the school voted for," said the girl, "But that's okay. Because… I already have my team."
"Who?" asked Pipp.
"Easy. It's you all!"
"Huh?" said the crew in disbelief.
"As luck would have it, you all were also voted by the school," Sunny pulled out her duel disk and showed the entire list of students that were nominated by the student body on who should represent CHS. "Pipp was the tenth overall person nominated, Izzy was 15th, Hitch was number 8, Zipp was five, Roll was 4, and Mario… you were second."
"Second?!" said the others.
"There's no way!" said the boy as he jumped down from the tree branch he and Zipp were sitting on. He yanked Sunny's duel disk from her hands to see the list himself, and to his surprise, he was right behind Sunny as #1 on the list of those the school voted to be nominated for Team CHS.
"I don't believe it!" said the boy.
"Seems everybody who voted for you was because of Valentine's Day messenger. They said you delivering them really put a smile on their faces, and you won their support," said Sunny.
"There must be a glitch. Ain't no way this is accurate!" said Mario as he tossed the duel disk back to the girl.
"No offense to everybody who voted, even we did as well, but I have to agree that I found it hard to believe that Mario got a higher vote than me!" shouted Zipp, feeling a bit jealous that she wasn't in the top 3.
"You want my spot, rich girl, take it!" said Mario.
"What?!" said Sunny. "What do you mean? We're a team."
"You all are, not me. I told you, Sunny, I'm not much of a team player. So guess what? A spot just opened up. You can find somebody else." said Mario as he wasn't going to take part in this stupid event.
"Mario, we need you!" said Sunny.
"No, you don't. You can find someone else!" stated the boy as he walked away.
"But-"
Sunny tried to call out to Mario to change his mind, but he was long gone.
"Let me talk to him, alright," said Roll as she went after her brother, hoping to see if she could change his mind about this whole ordeal.
"Forget him, Sunny. If lover boy doesn't want to be part of this, there's no sense in dealing with dead weight on our shoulders. So… what do we to prepare for the Friendship Games?" asked Zipp as she jumped down.
The following day, Principal Celestia made the announcement public about Sunny being the Team Captain for Team CHS in the upcoming Friendship Games between Crystal Prep. The girl had given her initial roster of who she wanted on her team but told her that Mario was still up in the air on actually being a part of it. Regardless, they still had time and hoped that the boy would change his mind.
Sunny was shown roller skating as she was delivering some smoothies to some students on campus through the school's app. The girl came to a halt as she spotted Posey doing some gardening with Dahlia.
"Here you go, Posey. One tropical treat to go!" said the girl as she handed the smoothie over. "Dahlia, Banana Berry Blast, right? On it!" stated Sunny looking to head back to the food truck to make the girl her request. However, she was unaware of a banana peel on the ground as she skated over it, which caused her to lose her balance. The girl tripped and flew into the air.
"Whoa!" exclaimed Sunny as she found herself being flung into the air.
The girl was carrying a delivery bag with her, full of other smoothies to deliver and tons of fruits, especially bananas, as a student requested them for a science project.
"Myyy Baanaanaasss!" Sunny cried out while things were going slow-mo as the people nearby watched on as some smoothies spilled to the ground.
A group of students was getting their picture taken together while another person held up the camera phone as they cheered, but then Sunny got into the phone's camera lens; it snapped a picture of her in a funny way from the trip as she screamed and crash into the ground as the teens gasped, hoping that Sunny was okay. The girl flopped to the ground as the many bananas piled on top of her, along with the banana peel she slipped on. Sunny stuck her head out of the pile with the banana peel on her helmet. Sunny picked it off while holding it with an embarrassed look, and it got worse when everyone who saw looked before Posey gave out a laugh before everyone in the crowd joined in, finding it funny that Sunny embarrassed herself with those bananas.
"Okay, so everyone saw that." She said with a sheepish look as the crowd continued to laugh at Sunny.
At Roll and Mario's dorm building, Hitch, Zipp, Pipp, and Roll were on their phones watching something when the door opened and there was Sunny with an unhappy look.
"You are not going to believe what happened to me," Sunny said to her friends, as she still couldn't get rid of that memory anytime soon.
"Did you do an epic fail in front of tons of customers and land in a big pile of bananas, Sunny?" Zipp said with an amusing smile while Hitch, Roll, and Pipp did their best not to laugh as they snorted a bit.
"Huh?" cried out Sunny in surprise at how Zipp guessed it right.
"You've gonna viral, Sunny!" answered Pipp, "Everybody is talking about it!"
The popstar teen showed her phone to her friend and pushed play on the video they were watching. The video showed Sunny tripping, screaming, and flopping to the floor as the banana pile fell on her, with a remix song named "My Bananas" playing in the background.
Skye and Dazzle of the school news then appeared as Skye cringed at the video that they saw with a seethe. "Ooh, now that's embarrassing!" He said with a smile, finding it funny as he and Dazzle laughed at the video. "Let's play that again." He said while replaying the video again.
"No!" Sunny cried out with her hands on her face, seeing that everybody had seen this video and it was viral.
And then Izzy started singing behind them as she started to sing. "My bananas! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na! My bananas!" She got to Sunny's face as she started vocalizing. "Sunny! Sunny! Break it down! My bananas!" She then started beatboxing down, waiting for Sunny to make a breakdown, but it didn't come as Sunny was still upset.
"Sunny, where the hell were you?!" shouted Mario as he appeared after kicking the door open to his dorm. "I waited for you to come back to the food truck. I had to take care of all the orders my… Izzy, what are you doing?" stated the boy as he saw his weird friend beatboxing.
"Mario! My bananas!" exclaimed Izzy as she continued to beatbox.
"Okay, what the hell did I miss?" asked the boy.
"Check this out!" said Zipp as she showed the video on her phone to her friend.
Mario looked at the video as Zipp pushed play. The boy watched the viral video of Sunny, and seconds later, he broke down in laughter.
"That shit's hilarious!" exclaimed the boy as he found it funny. "Hey, send me that link!"
"You too! Come on!" said Sunny as she couldn't catch a break.
"Hey, I'm an asshole, remember," said Mario as Zipp sent him the video link and he was watching it nonstop.
"Alright, alright, guys. We've had our fun," said Roll as she tried to get rid of her chuckle before calming down. "I'm sure we've all had embarrassing things happen to us at some point. Besides, any of us could have been in Sunny's position."
The group thought about what Roll had just said.
"Alright, point taken. We'd be laughing stocks too," said Zipp.
This... is... the... worst!" Sunny cried out as she flipped through her phone, but it still showed the same 'epic fail' of herself and the banana thing. "Ugh, I'm everywhere! I'm supposed to be the captain for CHS in the Friendship Games, and now I'm a joke!" She said as she started to tear up, finding herself a laughing stock.
"Don't feel like that, Sunny. It's just a video of an accident; it will get old eventually." Roll assures the sad girl.
"She's right. These things happen all the time." Hitch agreed with Roll as he came next to Sunny, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Trust me. In a couple of hours, they'll have forgotten all about it." He assured his childhood friend that the students would forget about this in a couple of hours.
Sunny then gave her two friends a smile, finding their words true. I mean, the video had to get old sooner or later, right?
At night, in her bedroom, Sunny was covered in her blanket as she watched from her phone that was still playing the 'Epic Banana Fail' as her video self screamed and went into the 'My Bananas' remix as it started showing her crash pose, falling on the floor until banana pile fell on her. Sunny then tapped the screen as it showed two people wearing a banana hat, a guy wearing a banana suit while he was laughing, and then showed Dazzle again.
"'Sunny side down,' am I right?" Dazzle asked in a joke. She laughed before Sunny changed the screen again with a tap as Sunny was feeling even more humiliated.
It then showed Posey on the screen. "'My bananas!'" She called out as she pressed a button. Rainbow lights appeared behind her, and the audience, off-screen, cheered. "Yeah!" Posey cheered as the lights and cheers continued.
The screen then changed as Skye appeared. "Not a "smoothie" operator?" He joked as he laughed.
The screen changed to a little girl who was holding a lunchbox with a batch of bananas, then to a woman who gasped at the video she was watching, then back to the Dazzle.
"Time for a banana 'splat'!" Dazzle laughed again at the joke she made.
Sunny couldn't take it anymore as she groaned and flopped to her bed, clearly seeing that the banana thing wouldn't stop anytime soon as she was still a laughing stock.
The next morning, Sunny was still lying in bed, still embarrassed, and covered in her blanket to hide herself from the embarrassment as her friends were beside her bed.
"Sunny, you can't hide forever. What about school?" said Pipp.
"There's no way I'm going back out there!" Sunny answered from inside her blanket. "It's too embarrassing." She added, not wanting to go out there so that people could laugh at her.
"Sunny. Come on. You can't just hide from this. It's just a video." Roll tried to reason with Sunny, placing a hand over her on top of her blanket. "Don't let it get to you." She said to her, trying to get her out of hiding.
"It's so embarrassing, Roll. I can't go out there for people to laugh at me." Sunny replied, still not coming out of the blanket.
"Come on," Hitch spoke out with a comforting smile, going to give his word of advice to Sunny. "It's not the end of the world. Nobody even remembers when I tried to get a baby raccoon down from a tree." He said to them as he remembered his embarrassing moment.
(Flashback)
A baby raccoon holding some school supplies on him was up in a tree on a branch. The branch tilted a bit when the baby raccoon saw Hitch on the branch.
"It's the end of the line, raccoon!" He cried out. "Time to—!" He tried to walk towards it, but the branch snapped. "Whoa! Aah!"
Hitch cried out as he and the raccoon fell, but then Hitch got caught in another branch, leaving him dangling; the baby raccoon landed on him as he hopped up and down, making Hitch yelp in the process as the students around him saw this as Hitch saw that he embarrassed himself in front of the crowd.
(End of Flashback)
After Hitch had his flashback, one of their classmate, Philly, came by through the window. "Hey, aren't you that 'raccoon cop'?" He asked Hitch, who flinched at that old nickname.
"Get out of here!" Hitch cried out as he covered the window with the sheets to block off Philly's view. He turned to see Izzy, Pipp, Zipp, and Roll stifling, laughing at him, while Sunny was not laughing in the slightest. "Okay, bad example." He said, seeing that his side didn't help Sunny in the slightest.
Sunny then groaned from this as she flopped back to her bed, seeing that Hitch's idea that they might forget won't happen if they still remember his embarrassing moment.
"Nice work, Romeo," whispered Roll to Hitch in a demeaning tone.
"Just get back out there and act like you don't care," Zipp suggested for Sunny just to ignore them, making them think she doesn't care about them.
"Or just wear a disguise and start a new life!" Izzy strangely suggested next to Roll, who was in front of Sunny's face. "Worked for me!" She cried out, which startled Sunny and Roll as she laughed, and then she flopped back into the ground.
Roll then looked at where Izzy was as she thought about her. "You've done that before, right?" She asked Izzy, but didn't respond getting the hint that something happened to Izzy that caused her to wear a disguise to start a new life, another reason she didn't have any friends before.
"No!" Sunny answered the two teens, a little freaked out from Izzy, but ignored it. "It's hopeless!" She cried out as she covered her face. "Looks like I'll have to stay here forever!" She was muffled in the blanket with a sad tone.
The group gave their friend a sympathetic look, as it was clear that the advice they were giving Sunny wasn't working.
"Pipp, you got anything?" asked Roll, as the stylish/singer/live streamer girl was the only one who hadn't said anything to Sunny.
"Okay, everybody, leave this to me and Roll." She told her friends as she motioned them out of the room, leaving just her and Roll with Sunny. She came close to Sunny's bed as she grabbed the blanket. "Sunny." She took Sunny's blanket off, but then she and Roll saw Sunny curled up with a sad face and her bed hair as well as they yelped at the sight.
"Do you always get the same bed hair no matter how you sleep, Sunny?" Roll questioned Sunny with a surprised look; she saw her bed hair often but not that often since Sunny woke up with her hair okay sometimes.
"Yes." Sunny whimpered in response; her sad expression didn't change the slightest.
"As I was saying." Pipp continued, returning to the topic as she brought out her phone. "Watch this." She said as she clicked on her phone, giving it to Sunny as Roll scooted closer to see and the two teens watched some of Pipp's old videos.
The first video showed Pipp, Rocky, and Jazz on the Mane Melody stage as they sang their moto song. "Try something new, take a chance, just—" Pipp started, but then she lost her balance. "Whoa! Whoa! WHOA!" She cried out as she fell off the stage and into the ground.
The next video showed Pipp eating spaghetti, but as she slurped some of the noodles, the whole spaghetti smacked on her face as it fell to the floor, leaving Pipp with some sauce on her face with a look at this outcome as she looked around for anybody who saw it before she put on her sunglasses to avoid eye-contacts. The next one showed Pipp vocalizing herself, but then her voice cracked as she messed up.
"Pipp. What is this?" Roll asked, finding the videos of Pipp funny but wanting to know what they were seeing.
"The video is called 'Pipp's Top Ten Most Epic Fails,'" Pipp answered Roll's question while explaining it to the two girls. "It has…" She stared before she cleared her throat as she continued. "...thirteen billion views." She pointed out while leaning on Sunny's bed with a smile.
Sunny and Roll then looked back at Pipp's phone as the video continued. The next one showed Pipp in a royal garment as she showed it off, but then heard a fabric tear as she looked at the source; she got one of her legs stuck in the robe.
"Hmm?" She questioned herself as she lost her balance and then started screaming as the head garment blocked her eyesight and lost her balance as she fell to the screen.
Sunny and Roll laughed at the video, finding it funny as Pipp proved her point.
"Okay, that's pretty funny," said Roll as she couldn't contain her laugh.
"You see?" Pipp said to Sunny while placing a hand on Sunny's shoulder. "You've got to own your fails. If you play this right, they could it remember for months." She said, but that was a poor choice of words as Sunny groaned at Pipp's words.
"That's not helping Sunny, Pipp!" stated Roll.
Pipp then realizes what she said as she chuckled nervously. "Ahah. Sorry." She apologized to Sunny, clearly seeing her bad choice of words.
Roll then hopped on Sunny's bed and placed a hand on her shoulder for comfort. "Look, Sunny, even the best of us have our 'epic fail' moments. The trick is to learn to laugh along with them - you know, as long as nobody got seriously hurt, which they didn't in this case." She gave some words of wisdom to Sunny that she needed to know that some can laugh, but she needed to know to laugh with them; it was just a laugh, and nobody got hurt for it.
Sunny thought of what Roll said as she took her words to heart. Sure, the people were laughing at her, but she should just ignore it. Even though she found herself funny in those videos, even though it was embarrassing, it could happen to anybody. "I guess you're right, Roll. You really know how to handle these things." She said to her friend, finding her words fair as she smiled at her.
"I have experience. Plus, you know you can always trust me, right?" said the girl to her friend.
"Yeah," said Sunny with a smile.
Pipp then spoke next as she gave another piece of advice. "Look, Sunny. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. And when life gives you bananas…" She said, while waiting what Sunny thought of this.
Sunny then spoke after a moment of thinking. "...make a banana smoothie?" She said in confusion since that line for bananas had never been said before.
"Yeah. I'm pretty sure nobody has ever said that about bananas." Roll added, never hearing that motto before. "Although, I'm more of a banana bread kind of girl, myself."
Pipp then thought of what Sunny had just said about a banana smoothie as she gasped deeply. "That's it!" She cried out, having an idea to make Sunny feel better and not make people laugh at her again. "Leave this to me, you two!" She said to both Sunny and Roll, having a plan to end the laughingstock to Sunny to make it into something that doesn't embarrass her anymore.
In the campus courtyard, the 'My Bananas' remix played in the speakers on both sides of the food truck as the students around were carrying banana balloons, wearing banana hats, and wearing banana suits. Rufus sold banana plushies as the sales continued. Clearly, Pipp's idea was to use Sunny's epic failure to start a festival as a way to help Sunny not get laughed at again.
Unknowingly to them, Sunny went through the crowd in disguise, wearing a fake mustache, glasses, and a hat with an 'S' on it; Roll was next to her as she kept a low profile and trying to act like Sunny wasn't around as they walk past the crowd, heading to the food truck as quickly to follow Pipp's plan while Roll kept Sunny covered from revealing herself to the crowd to be laughed again as they headed to the stand.
Pipp then appeared near the truck; she amplified her voice through the microphone and spoke to the other students. "You know her from the videos! You know her from the memes! You know her from the funky dance remix!" She said, closer to the crowds with a little dance before backing up. "And if you like 'My Bananas'..." She said to the crowds.
"'My Bananas'!" The crowd's students cheered, saying yes to Pipp that they liked the video.
Pipp continued through her microphone. "...then you'll looooove her Oopsy-Doopsy Banana Smoothie!" She said while striking poses after each word of the smoothie title. "Everybody, put your hands together for... Sunny!" She pointed out to Sunny, walking through the crowd, thinking it wouldn't work with Roll beside her. After Pipp announced Sunny's name, she stopped and looked back as she took off her disguise, giving a nervous smile to the crowd, with Roll chuckling nervously as they walked back to the food truck.
But what surprised them is that instead of a laugh at Sunny, Seashell popped up with a gasp, "Sunny! Sign my banana!" She cried out while holding a banana plushie for Sunny to sign.
"I want eighteen smoothies!" Dahlia cried out to Sunny as well so that she could be first.
Sunny and Roll laughed at this while the latter stood outside to keep the people back and stay in line to wait their turn, seeing that the laughing stock was now over as people saw Sunny famous. "Well, Sunny. Your laughing stock problem is now over and done with. And now you have become famous with that epic fail of yours." Roll commented with a smile.
"Yeah. I guess this wasn't such a disaster after all." Sunny admittedly said, agreeing with Roll as Pipp entered the food truck as Sunny placed a banana in the blender to make the smoothie. "Thanks, Pipp." She thanked Pipp for helping her make this epic fail better.
"Of course. Anything to help," Pipp said with a smile to Sunny, willing to do anything to help a friend in need.
Sunny then turned to Roll with a smile. "And thanks for being there when I felt embarrassed, Roll. And thanks for the word of advice on how to deal with these kinds of things." She thanked her friend for being there and giving some words of wisdom on what to do in these situations.
"What can I say? Helping someone and a friend of mine is my thing and being there for others in need," Roll commented with a smile, glad to help Sunny out. "Plus, didn't I tell you to trust me?"
"You did," responded Sunny with a smile.
But then the blender started to get a little too fast as the three girls looked at it. It blended the banana so much that it popped open and splat the banana juice on Sunny and Pipp's faces; the crowd of students gasped at this and brought out their phones as they took pictures of this moment as Sunny, Roll, and Pipp looked at each other as the three girls laugh at this outcome. Finding it funny as well.
A small body of CHS students stood before the entrance to the school. Celestia and Luna had organized a sort of welcome committee for the special guests that would be arriving. Among the body of students were Sunny and her friends. The group had all sorts of emotions ranging from anxious to nervous to even terrified.
"Why are we doing this?" asked Hitch to his childhood friend.
"Principal Celestia wants us to welcome Crystal Prep with open arms," said the girl.
"Yeah, but don't they hate us," said Zipp as she was a bit down the line. "Plus, the Friendship Games are still a ways off. Why are they coming here so early?"
"Because, since it's our turn to host the events, that means the students who are going to compete will be staying with us and learning in our classes. Principal Celestia and Principal Sombra believe it'll help promote the 'Friendship' part of the event. Plus, we meet new people, isn't that exciting?" said Sunny with sparkles in her eyes.
"I hope," said Hitch, as he was worried about this idea.
Roll stood with her brother as they stood next to Sunny.
"Come on, bro. Sunny needs you. She's counting on you." said Roll as she'd been trying her best to get her older brother to rethink his decision about being a part of Team CHS for the Friendship Games.
"For the last time, sis. I'm not doing it, nor do I want any part of it!" stated Mario.
"But bro…"
"This isn't up for discussion, sis. I'm not doing it!" exclaimed the boy as he shut down the conversation with his little sibling, not wanting to discuss this topic anymore.
Roll sighed as it seemed there was no convincing her brother's mind. The pair then turned their attention to the entrance as the doors opened, and the sun peered through it as only a shadow was shown. The shadow began to approach the student body as it turned out to be none other than the Principal of Crystal Prep Academy.
"Celestia, Luna. My, my, my. Lovely as ever. Not a day over 40." said Sombra as he approached his colleagues. Celestia was the first to extend her hand out, which Sombra accepted, shook it twice, then turned it and bowed to press his lips to the back of it briefly.
"Still the charmer, are you, Principal Sombra," said Celestia, retracting her hand as she looked at her old friend.
"She's still single, you know," chimed in Luna as Celestia glared at her younger sister for saying that.
"As much as I enjoy playing this game with you, Tia. You must already know that Crystal Prep will win. As impressive as you are, we thrive in this kind of environment. So, understand I apologize in advance for the massacre that my students will do to yours. Don't take it too badly. There's always next time." smiled Sombra smugly.
"Already written your victory speech, eh, Sombra? Well, one must never doubt their enemy so easily. The Friendship Games is more than just a battle; it's a war."
"Yes, indeed. But a war is won when the most crucial battle of them is over."
Celestia glared at her old acquaintance as her competitive spirit and his smugness got to her. She so badly her team to win so she could rub it in his face.
"You know, I'm questioning how our principal dated someone like him when they were young?" asked Pipp to the group, as it was weird to see the two former lovers wanting to one-up the other.
"Well, Sombra, before we show you and your students to their accommodations for the next few weeks, perhaps we could see the team that you put together," said Celestia, as she gritted her teeth and put on a fake smile.
"Tia, you know wrinkles aren't good for the complexion. Stress lines are even worse. No need to act tough in front of your students. I believe even they know, they don't stand a chance against me and my team. You know our motto at Crystal Prep Academy: We're the best there is, the best there was… and the best… we ever will be." said Sombra, taking pride in that as he got under Celestia's skin even more.
"Calm down, Tia," said Luna as she could see Sombra still had an effect on her older sister.
"Now CHS chooses to have a popularity contest for its team selection. Crystal Prep selects its recipients based on merit and academia. So… ladies, allow me to present to you the team to not only represent Crystal Prep in the Friendship Games but will win in convincing fashion." said Sombra smugly.
As if on cue, the Principal of Crystal Prep snapped his fingers. The doors to the school entrance opened up slowly as the glaring sun was behind several figures all lined up as their shadows. Nobody could see the individuals' identities or faces before they started to move, with the person in the middle leading the charge. Sunny, along with the rest of the student body, started to feel the air in the room being sucked as the presence of their rivals sent chills down their spines. A few students like Zipp, had game faces on as they were ready to do battle and assert their dominance to a team of students who only looked down on them. The individuals of Crystal Prep soon stopped as they stood in a straight line; the person leading the charge looked about as they examined and took in the sight of their rival school. They saw Sunny and her friends line up as they got her initial impressions. They, however, stopped upon looking at two certain individuals.
"No way! Is that you, primo? Prima?" said the voice, revealing it to be a girl.
"Hello… cousin!" said Mario and Roll in unison.
Author's Notes: As many can tell, this is another reference to TYT about Sunny's embarrassing incident and having to deal with it. Not letting it control her life and accepting it. And as was mentioned throughout the chapter, it's time. We now begin the Friendship Game Arc. Now, we won't be going straight into the event as we'll be building it up a bit. But it will be a big arc with tons of chapters. And we already started off with a surprise. Turns out that the captain of Crystal Prep's team is someone who Mario and Roll know. Who that person is, you'll just have to wait and see in the next chapter? But... maybe you can figure out who it is.
