To say that the stakes just got higher was an understatement. Everybody, even the adults, were silent as they took in the participants selected for the duel. This match and the event just got a lot more interesting; nobody expected this to happen so soon, but they were glad they didn't have to wait too long. Flurry stood up from her bench and smiled as she stared down Sunny, who had a worried look on her face. The Crystal Prep girl twisted her neck to make it crack, making Sunny gulp.

"Sunny…" said Izzy.

Flurry then began to make her way onto the field. Sunny took a deep breath before she began slowly making her way to the field. The others were concerned for their captain as Mario and Roll focused on their cousin; they knew what Sunny was in for as it wouldn't be a pretty sight.

Both team captains made their way onto the field as they took their positions. Flurry was licking her chops as she could see the nervousness that was inside Sunny. While the girl tried to put on a tough look, she could see past that facade and see her true fear within.

"This is your last chance to back out, Sunny. Don't make me do something that I'll regret later."

"I can't do that! My entire school and friends are counting on me!" said Sunny, as giving up wasn't an option for her.

Both girls strapped on their duel disks. Flurry's device projected a light magentaish-gray card tray, while Sunny's projected a lavender card tray.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel."

"Let's duel!" said Flurry and Sunny, the former being confident while the latter was a bit nervous.

Sunny's Life Points: 8000-
Flurry's Life Points: 8000-

Their portraits appeared for all to see on the big screen, as Sunny's was highlighted to indicate she would have the first turn.

"At least she gets the first turn. She's gonna need it against Flurry," said Zipp as she was worried for her friend.

Turn 1: Sunny (Hand 5)

"Alright, I'll begin. I draw. I summon Arnis, the Empowered Warrior(1700/1200)! Then I'll play the spell card, Arcane Barrier. With the power of this spell card, whenever my Spellcaster monsters are destroyed, I can place a Spell Counter on my Arcane Barrier." stated Sunny. "I'll end my turn by placing one card facedown."

Turn 2: Flurry (Hand 5)

"I have to admit… I was wrong," said Flurry, getting the girl's attention. "I thought you were nothing more than just some fangirl wanting to be a good duelist. But I've seen firsthand that you've got the potential to be a great duelist. You're still a little green around the edges, Sunny… but you're more skilled than most people around your skill level."

"Thanks?" said Sunny hesitantly.

"But… just as you're hoping to walk into this duel and beat me… and give your classmates hope and illusion… well, the bad news is I'm in the business of taking hope away and dragging people back down on the ground of reality. This duel, Sunny… it's not about who's the more excited ac… it's about who's the better duelist when the duel begins! And Sunny, I'm sorry to say it; you might have potential, but I am superior to you on the dueling field. And after I'm done beating you, all your classmates and all your friends will learn to embrace me. Will learn to acknowledge me as the Final Boss!"

"That's not gonna happen!" shouted Zipp, as she didn't like hearing Flurry's arrogant persona speak.

"It's… my turn!" yelled Flurry with intensity as she drew her card.

The Crystal Prep girl looked at what she drew before putting it with her other cards and picking a different one. She held the card out as the back was shown to Sunny; she smiled before flipping it over and allowing Sunny to see it. The girl gasped upon seeing what Flurry was going to play.

"I play… Polymerization!"

"She's fusion summoning already?!" said Pipp as the others were all taken aback by Flurry's first move.

"I fuse my Lord of Dragons with my Divine Dragon Ragnarok!"

"Oh, that's not good!" said Roll, seeing the cards her cousin was merging together.

"With those she can summon…" said Mario as he, too, knew what Flurry was doing.

"I Fusion Summon! King Dragun(2400/1100)!" From the two monsters came a dragon with the body of said creature as its face and upper body. At the head of the dragon was Flurry's other monster, as it roared. It also glowed with an aurora-bore allis effect, shining in several colors. The sight of Flurry's beast made all of CHS gasp collectively.

"And check out his ability. Each and every turn he's on the field, I get to summon another Dragon-type monster from my hand. Like this one, for example, Luster Dragon #2(2400/1100)!" said Flurry as another dragon appeared. This one had bits of luster sticking out of its body as it roared.

"Two monsters with 2400 attack points?!" said Izzy as they knew Sunny was in danger against two powerhouses.

"King Dragun, attack Sunny's Arnis with Fire Scorch!" instructed Flurry as her monster put its claw arm out and fired its attack. Sunny covered up as her monster didn't stand a chance against the attack and exploded.
Sunny's Life Points: 7300-

"When Arnis is destroyed, I can use her ability to summon a Spellcaster-type monster from my deck in attack mode with 1500 or fewer attack points. So I choose my Apprentice Magician(400/800)!" said Sunny as a monster rose before her. "And when Apprentice Magician is summoned, its effect activates. I can target one card I control that I can place a Spell Counter on, and I put one on it. So my Arcane Barrier gains a Spell Counter!"

"You may have gotten a Spell Counter, but your monster's attack points are very weak against my dragons. And speaking of which… Luster Dragon #2! It's your turn! Attack with Emerald Flame Attack!" commanded Flurry as her dragon fired its attack and headed toward Sunny's monster.

"I activate my facedown, Gravity Bind!" said Sunny as her facedown flipped up. "Thanks to this trap card, all Level 4 or higher monsters can't attack!" The attack from Flurry's dragon shot upward as it was redirected by the sudden shift in gravity from Sunny's trap.

"Do you really think a weak trap like that will stop me and my monsters from tearing you apart?" said Flurry as she felt Sunny was hiding instead of fighting.

"With that trap of hers, Sunny brought herself just a small window of time. Flurry's going to find some way to get past it, and once she does, she'd better be ready for when that happens," said Mario.

"I end my turn."

Turn 3: Sunny (Hand 3)

"It's my move! I draw. And I'll begin by switching my Apprentice Magician into defense mode. Then I summon my Defender, the Magical Knight(1600/2000), in defense mode!" said Sunny as a knight appeared wielding a big shield in one hand. "And when I normal summon my knight, he receives a Spell Counter!"

"Are you gonna continue to hide, or you gonna woman up and fight me!?" yelled Flurry as she felt disrespected by Sunny's tactics.

"It's called strategy," remarked Sunny as she picked up another card from her hand. "I then activate my Spell Power Grasp! Due to this spell's power, it produces a Spell Counter that I can place on my Arcane Barrier. Then, I can add a copy of this card to my hand from my deck. With that, I'll end my turn."

Turn 4: Flurry (Hand 2)

"It's my turn!" said Flurry as she drew her card. "I activate the spell card, Mystical Space Typhoon! So now I can blow away your Gravity Bind!"

A giant wind blew over the field as Sunny raised her arms to cover her face. The girl's hair and clothes blew in the wind as her card was swept away. The shift in gravity reverted to normal as Flurry's monsters roared before looking at Sunny, ready to feast on her and her monsters.

"Next, I activate King Dragun's ability to summon this dragon! Hyozanryu(2100/2800)!" . A diamond appeared before it cracked and shot a burst of light before revealing the monster, which had a horn on its nose.

"Three dragons?!" said Sunny, seeing the power force that Flurry was gathering on her field.

"Congratulations! You can count! But how's your subtraction!" stated Flurry. "Give Sunny a lesson, Dragun! Take out her Apprentice Magician!" The girl's dragon pointed its clawed arm at her spellcaster and blasted it off the field.

"Like before, when it's destroyed, I can replace it with another one!" said Sunny as her third Apprentice Magician appeared. "And when it's summoned, I can place a Spell Counter on a card. So my Arcane Barrier now has a total of four Spell Counters!"

"A lot good those will do you! Now… Hyozanryu, strike down her Defender!"

"I activate Defender's ability. It can avoid destruction simply by removing a Spell Counter!" said Sunny as her monster used its shield to block the attack from its foe. The flames from the dragon's fire bounced off the shield as the warrior held his ground before the weapon lost its power.

"Now, Luster Dragon #2. Take out her last Apprentice Magician!" instructed Flurry as her final beast easily disposed of Sunny's magician.

"She's still standing, so at least she's not totally in trouble," said Zipp as she was grateful Sunny survived this round.

"Yeah, but she can't keep playing defense all duel. She's got to attack eventually," said Roll, as Sunny needed to fight back against her cousin if she wanted to win.

"I end my turn."

Turn 5: Sunny (Hand 3)

"It's my move. I draw. And first, I'll send my Arcane Barrier and Defender to the graveyard. Doing so lets me activate my Arcane Barrier's other effect. For every Spell Counter that was on it, I get to draw that many cards. So since it had four counters, I can draw four new cards!" said Sunny.

"Yes! Now she has options!" said Hitch as he was impressed by Sunny's plan.

"By replenishing my hand, countless strategic opportunities are available to me!" said Sunny as she added the cards she drew to the ones she currently had.

"Draw a million cards if you want. It won't change the fact. You won't beat me!" declared Flurry.

"Next, I place a monster in defense mode. And follow that up by activating the spell card, The Dark Door. As long as this door is open for business, we can only attack with one monster each round!" stated Sunny.

"Nice try, Sunny. But it's just a matter of time before I bust down that door!" remarked Flurry as Sunny's feeble attempts to stall were pathetic and laughable to someone like her.

"I'll place one card facedown and end my turn!"

Turn 6: Flurry (Hand 1)

"It's my move! Ha!" exclaimed Flurry as she drew before looking at her monsters. "King Dragun attack! Fire Scorch!" commanded the Crystal Prep girl as her monster aimed its arm claw at Sunny's monster. The monster appeared before the girl as the attack was coming at it.

"The monster you're attacking is my Eda the Sun Magician. And when it's flipped up, its special ability activates! I can special summon one Spellcaster with 1500 defense points from either my hand or deck and put them in facedown defense mode!" said the CHS teen as she touched her duel screen.

She began to scan through her deck to pick the monster she wanted before stopping on her choice and clicking confirm. The duel disk slotted out the card she wanted as she grabbed it and placed it horizontally on her tray. The card appeared before her as the monster was hidden. At that moment, her other magician was blasted off the field due to Flurry's monster.

"I place one card facedown. Your move, if you dare!" threatened Flurry.

Turn 7: Sunny (Hand 5)

"Here goes! I draw!" said Sunny as she began to initiate her plan. "First, I'll tribute my monster to summon my Silent Magician(1000/1000)!" Out came a rather tall, attractive woman. She wore a blue and white magician hat with matching robes showing her figure. She had grey hair and wielded a wand.

"That monster only has 1000 attack points. What's Sunny planning to do with that?" asked Pipp.

"Now, I activate Silent Magician's special ability. My Silent Magician gains 500 attack points for every card in my hand! So since I currently have five cards in my hand, my Silent Magician gains 2500 attack points for a total of 3500!" stated Sunny as her woman sorcerer felt the power coursing through her body.

"Now Sunny has the strongest monster on the field!" said Izzy.

"Silent Magician, it's time to fight back! Attack Flurry's King Dragun!" instructed the girl. Her magician leaped into the air as she soared above the field of dragons. She raised her staff as she prepared her attack.

"From my hand, I'm activating the spell card, Silent Burning!" said Sunny as she took another card from her hand. "During the Battle Phase, since I control a 'Silent Magician' monster and I have more cards in my hands than you, this card forces us to draw until we both are holding six cards in our hands. And you remember what happens: for every card in my hand, my Silent Magician gains 500 attack points!"

"So Sunny's losing a card from her hand, but in return, she's going to get two, so that means her Silent Magician now has a total of 4000 attack points… awesome!" said Zipp.

"Now… Silent Magician! Fire!" commanded the girl.

Her monster finished charging up her staff before aiming it at Flurry's monster. The wand fired a powerful attack as it headed for King Dragun; the dragon put its claw arm to fire its attack to counter. The two attacks met in the middle as it seemed like a standstill, but the attack from Sunny's monster was more powerful and overpowered King Dragun's attack. It pushed the creature's fire back and burned up Flurry's dragon. Sunny's magician landed before the girl as she had a smile. The explosion that occurred when Flurry's monster was destroyed began to clear up. Flurry stood there as her monster was gone, but she smiled. More importantly, her Life Points didn't change.

"Wha? How?" said the flabbergasted girl.

"Why, it's because of you, Sunny," smiled Flurry. "See, when you played your Silent Burning spell card, you made us draw until we're holding six cards. And it just so happened that one of the cards I drew was my Maiden's Ruling. By discarding this card from my hand, any battle damage I would have taken this turn becomes zero. Oh, and there's more. See, since I used it during your turn, its additional effect allows me to add it back to my hand as long as I banish a Dragon-type monster from my graveyard. So I banish Divine Dragon Raganork to add back my Maiden's Ruling!"

Flurry's duel disk ejected her recently played spell as she took it with a smug smile on her face.

"That's crazy! How's Sunny gonna counter that powerful card?" said Zipp.

"She can't," said Mario. "As long as Flurry has monsters in her graveyard, she can just keep cycling her card repeatedly."

"So there's no way she's gonna break through?" asked Hitch.

"I said it's gonna be tough. I never said it was impossible," responded Mario.

"I end my turn," said Sunny.

Turn 8: Flurry (Hand 6)

"My turn!" said Flurry as she drew her card. "First, I'll set a card facedown. Then… I'll play the spell card, Cards of Consonace. I draw two cards by sending my White Stone of Ancients to the graveyard. Next, I'll summon Kaibaman(200/700)!"

"Not good," said Sunny, as she knew what Flurry's monster could do.

"Glad you remembered. Because I now activate my Kaibaman's special ability. By tributing him, I can summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon(3000/25000) from my hand!" exclaimed Flurry as she held her card up high. Flurry's mighty and powerful beast emerged in a flash of light as it roared. Despite seeing it many times before, Sunny felt a sense of fear wash over as the sight of this beast was terrifying.

"I end my turn. And now… the effect of The White Stone of Ancients activates. I can summon a 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my deck when it's sent to the graveyard. So take flight, my second Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" said Flurry as her second beast appeared and roared.

Sunny was now even more terrified at seeing two great beasts. Flurry could see the fear on Sunny's face as it amused her.

Turn 9: Sunny (Hand 6)

"It's my turn!" said Sunny as she drew her card.

"And because it is, I'll activate my facedown! Go Dust Tornado! Now I can get rid of your Dark Door!" said Flurry as once more, Sunny's card was blown away, leaving her without any protection.

"With that card, Flurry is free to attack as many times as she wants," said Pipp.

"I'll start by activating my Silent Burning from my graveyard. By banishing it, I can add a 'Silent Magician' monster from my deck to my hand. So, I'm adding my Silent Magician LV4. Next, I'm summoning my Silent Swordsman LV0(1000/1000)." A tiny swordsman appeared before Sunny, holding a small blade in his hand.

"Aw, look at the cute swordsman standing up to a big dragon," said Izzy as she found Sunny's tiny monster to be adorable.

"Silent Magician, attack Blue-Eyes #1!" said Sunny as she looked to at least make the threat less threatening. Sunny's magician powered her staff once more and aimed at the big dragon; it fired its attack and managed to get rid of Flurry's beast.

"Remember. By discarding my Maiden's Ruling, I can avoid taking any battle damage," said the Crystal Prep girl smugly as she slotted her card away.

"With that, I'll place one card facedown!" said Sunny, hoping to reinforce her defenses against Flurry's massive dragon army.

Turn 10: Flurry (Hand 4)

"My turn! And I'll begin by playing this. The ritual spell, Chaos Form! So by offering my Blue Eyes as tribute… I'm gonna summon something even more powerful. Now arise… Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon(4000/0)!"

"Oh no!" said Sunny with fear in her voice.

A loud, piercing screech was heard. Flurry's mighty beast appeared as it spread its wings out for all to take in the sight. The dragon landed with a thud behind Flurry, who smiled as it roared to showcase its loyalty to its mistress.

"Now… Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon! Attack Sunny's Silent Magician!" instructed Flurry.

"But they both have the same number of attack points. They'll both be destroyed!" said Hitch.

"I don't think Flurry cares if her monster is destroyed so long as Sunny's is," said Zipp, as the Crystal Prep girl was willing to send her own monster to its destruction just to get rid of Sunny's monster.

Flurry's monster was preparing to fire its attack as Sunny's magician also powered up her staff to counterattack.

"I activate my facedown! Turn Jump!" said Sunny as she had one of her facedowns turn over.

"What's that card?!" said Hitch, unaware of what card Sunny had just activated.

"With this card, it allows me to negate your monster's attack by skipping right over the Battle Phase of this turn. But wait! That's not all it did!" said Sunny as a stopwatch appeared before it began to move. As if on cue, her Silent Swordsman began to slowly glow and change as it got older and taller, not to mention its Level jumped from 0 to 3.

"Did she just…?" said Pipp as she had to double-take what Sunny did.

"Exactly. My Silent Swordsman just jumped to Level 3! And there's more: with each Level he gains, his attack points increase by 500!" said the CHS teen.

"So her Silent Swordsman now has 2500 attack points! Nice one, Sunny!" said Zipp.

"You're really starting to piss me off," mumbled Flurry at how Sunny was able to worm her way out of danger once more.

"I place one card facedown and end my turn!" said the Crystal Prep girl.

Turn 11: Sunny (Hand 6)

"My turn, I draw! And now my Silent Swordsman jumps to Level 4!" said Sunny as her monster changed to get older. "And don't forget, he gains 500 extra attack points. But he's not the only one gaining attack points. Because with the extra card I just drew my Silent Magician also gains another 500 attack points! Now… Silent Magician, take out her Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon!"

The female sorceress raised her wand and aimed it at the dragon. Without hesitation, the staff glowed and shot out its attack as it headed for the mighty beast. Flurry's dragon, counterattacked by it was pushed back, and the attack from Sunny's magician blasted a hole through the creature as it exploded with Flurry covering up.
Flurry's Life Points: 7500-

"One more!" shouted Zipp.

"One more!" confirmed Sunny. "Silent Swordsman, attack her Luster Dragon #2!" The girl's swordsman leaped into the air as he was shown bringing down his weapon with a cry, and sliced Flurry's second monster down the middle as it roared in pain before exploding, dealing more damage to the Crystal Prep teen who covered up and stood her ground.
Flurry's Life Points: 6900-

"She just took damage, alright!" said Hitch as he was proud to see that Sunny managed to land a hit on Flurry.

"Looks like Flurry ain't in control anymore!" exclaimed Zipp, as it felt good to see the girl getting what she deserved.

Sunny's swordsman landed before the girl, and Sunny had a smile on her face. Flurry was shown lowering her arm to expose her face. She then noticed a small scuff mark on her wrist; seeing it sent her mind into a frenzy. Thinking that someone like Sunny, who wasn't her family, managed to land a blow against her started to fuel her mind as she felt her Final Boss persona coming out.

"All that… and only for a small amount of damage," said Flurry in a sinister tone.

"I then summon my Silent Magician LV4(1000/1000)!" said Sunny as a smaller version magician of her Silent Magician appeared. "Then I'll play my Spell Power Grasp. This allows me to produce a Spell Counter for my Silent Magician LV4; then I can add a third copy of the spell to my hand." The girl touched her duel screen; her duel disk ejected, and grabbed the card she wanted.

"I'll place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 12: Flurry (Hand 3)

"It's time to make you acknowledge me, Sunny!" growled Flurry as she drew her card.

"By drawing a card, my Silent Magician LV4 gains a Spell Counter!" said Sunny as her monster's ability kicked in and it gained even more power.

"In that case, why don't I help you even more?!" yelled Flurry intensely. "I play the spell card, Trade-In. I draw two cards by discarding a Level 8 monster from my hand!"

"With those two cards, my Silent Magician LV4 gains two more Spell Counters!" said Sunny.

"I'm gonna smash you, Sunny! And I will make you acknowledge me. Final Boss engaged!" yelled Flurry as she grabbed a card from her hand. "Since you control a monster with at least more than 2000 attack points, I can be able to summon my Schwarzschild Limit Dragon(2000/0)!" A dragon appeared before it was shaped into an infinity symbol, with the head touching its tail.

"Next, I activate the spell, Ergosphere! Soon, you'll see double because I can add another Schwarzschild Limit Dragon from my deck to my hand. It'll be deja vu for you, Sunny, because I get to summon it just like before!" stated Flurry as another copy of her previous monster appeared.

"Now then… where was I? Oh, yes! About to destroy you! I overlay two Level 8 Schwarzchild Limit Dragons… that lets me build the Overlay Network!" shouted Flurry as her two monsters turned into orbs of light and hovered in the air. A portal opened before the girl as the orbs were sucked in, and a pillar of light emerged. "I Xyz Summon! Come forth, Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon(3000/2500, OLU: 4)!" A 3-D tetrahedron was shown as it began to pop out slowly and as it took the shape of Flurry's mighty beast.

"I thought this would be tough, and now I know for sure," Sunny said with a slight fear in her voice.

"Now… Galaxy-Eyes attack her Silent Magician LV4 with… Tachyon Spiral of Destruction!" said Flurry as her dragon began to launch its attack.

"I activate my facedown! Silent Staff Repulsion!" said Sunny. "With this card, not only does my monster survive, but it can't be destroyed in battle this turn!"

"Maybe, but your Life Points will take a huge hit!" said Flurry.

"No, they won't! I activate my trap, Life Force! Now, whenever I take Battle Damage, I can simply pay 400 Life Points instead!" said Sunny as some of her life force essence was zapped away from her as she survived the hit.
Sunny's Life Points: 6900-

"With that trap card out, Flurry can attack with her high-powerful monsters as much as she likes. Sunny's gonna survive every time," said Zipp with a smile.

"For now… but I'm not done yet. I activate Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon's special ability! Using one overlay unit, it can negate the effects of all other face-up monsters on the field! Go Tachyon Transmigration!" yelled Flurry as her dragon roared before converging itself back into its 3-D shape. It then began to spin, energy surging through the shape as tons of lights and colors emitted around the pair.

"And since my Tachyon Dragon is negating your monsters' effects, your Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman will drop back to their original attack points!"

"Oh, no!" said Sunny as she saw her monsters lose their special powers.

"And there's more… for every card that resolved during the Battle Phase this turn, my Tachyon Dragon gains 1000 additional attack points until the end. Since you activated your Silent Staff Resolution and your Life Force, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon gains 2000 extra attack points!" smiled Flurry.

"5000 attack points?!" said Izzy as she and the other three were stunned to see how strong Flurry's monster would be.

"And that's not all," said Roll as there was one more thing Flurry's monster could.

"Traverse time and space. Now arise anew! Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!" said Flurry as her monster began to unfold itself out of its shape and roared as it felt the powerup it got. "And there's one more thing. My monster can now attack again!"

"Again?!" said Hitch with a worried look.

"And this time, it's taking out your Silent Magician! Do it again, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon! Attack Sunny's monster with Tachyon Spiral of Destruction!" commanded Flurry. The dragon wasted no time in firing its attack. The beam headed straight for Sunny's spellcaster as she screamed upon being blasted before exploding.

"I can still use the effect of my Life Force trap card, so I pay 400 Life Points to avoid taking any battle damage!" Sunny shouted as she covered up when the attack hit. The girl was sent off her feet and hit the ground as she grunted.
Sunny's Life Points: 6500-

"Sunny!" yelled the girl's friends.

"Ha! My Tachyon Dragon is more than enough monster for an amateur like you!" laughed Flurry as Sunny stirred and managed to sit up, having her share of marks all over her. "Had enough? Of course, you have, but there's more on the way. I place two cards facedown and end my turn! And lucky for you, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon's attack points return to normal."

Turn 13: Sunny (Hand 5)

"Your Tachyron Dragon's power is… very annoying," grunted Sunny as willed herself to stand up. "But I'll take care of that."

"Oh, really?" mocked Flurry as she called Sunny's bluff.

"Really!" Sunny confirmed that she was dead serious. "And trust me… you won't see it coming! Allow me, I draw! And I'll begin by playing the spell card, Trismagistus. Thanks to this card, I can be able to summon one 'Magistus' monster from my hand. So I summon my tuner monster, Zoroa, the Magistus of Flame(1500/1500)!" A pillar of fire erupted on Sunny's field as it revealed her monster. "And now… I think I'll tune my Zoroa with my Silent Magician LV4!" The fire wizard turned into four giant green rings that circled its comrade as it turned into four white stars that lined up with a yellow light surging through. "I Synchro Summon… Zoroa, the Magistus Conflagrant Calamity(2900/1500)!" A phoenix appeared before it shot toward the ground in front of Sunny. Fire erupted before emerging from the flames; a hooded figure stood, who spread his arms out as fire engulfed his hands.

"Now my Zoroa's ability activates when it's synchro summoned! I can equip one 'Magistus' monster from my Extra Deck. So I'm gonna choose my Awiass, the Magistus Spell Spirit!" said Sunny as the fire went from Sunny's monster to the ground, forming a fire ring. Sunny's chosen monster was shown emerging from within. "And while Awiass is an Equip Spell, the equipped monster gains 1000 extra attack and defense points!"

"I'm not going to let that happen!" shouted Flurry. "I activate the trap, Tachyon Flare Wing! Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon equips my card to negate your Zoroa's special abilities!" The girl's monster began to have a new set of giant wings attached to it as it roared and glowed with power. "So your Zoroa won't be gaining any attack points!"

The wings from Flurry's dragon began to shoot out beams, making Sunny's Awiass disappear back into the fire ring as it closed up and died out.

"So your Zoroa can't defeat my Tachyon Dragon now!" proclaimed Flurry with a smile at stopping Sunny's move.

"Are you sure?" smiled Sunny.

"Huh?"

"Think again because you played right into my hand, Flurry!"

"What?!"

"That's right. Let me show you!" Sunny proclaimed as she grabbed another card in her hand. "I then activate my Magistus Spirituality spell card. By getting rid of my Silent Swordsman, I can replace him with a Spellcaster monster from my deck. So I choose my Endymion, the Magistus of Mastery(1300/1700)! Then… I'll activate his ability. I can target one 'Magistus' monster I control and equip it with one from my Extra Deck. So I choose Awiass, meaning that Zoroa will gain 1000 extra attack points!" said the girl as her monster appeared and transferred its power to its comrade.

"Impossible," said Axiom at how Sunny managed to still work around Flurry's negation from earlierr.

"Go, Zoroa! Attack Tachyon Dragon!" instructed Sunny.

"In your dreams, smoothie girl!" barked Flurry, "I activate Tachyon Flare Wing's effect! By sending it to the graveyard, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon isn't destroyed!" A sphere formed around Flurry's beast as the attack from Sunny's fire wizard made contact. It hit the barrier as bits of fireballs began to bounce off and pummel the Crystal Prep girl, who covered up and held on.
Flurry's Life Points: 6000-

"You can do anything you wish, but it does not matter! You will never destroy my Galaxy-Eyes."

Sunny's mouth was shown as she formed a small smile. Flurry noticed the expression on the girl as her eyes widened with disbelief.

"Wrong again, Flurry."

"What!" demanded the Crystal Prep girl.

"Try to keep up. Now… I activate Magistus Soul Link! I can activate this card when the monster that Magistus battles isn't destroyed. Then… the monster it battles becomes an equip card onto it!"

"No! This can't be!" shouted Flurry as she couldn't believe what she heard.

"Do it, Zoroa! Take her Tachyon Dragon!" demanded Sunny as her fire wizard made a whip of flame that wrapped around the dragon's neck. It roared with pain as the intense heat began to crunch down on its body before it was sucked away and became a piece of the armor it wore.

"Galaxy-Eyes!" yelled Flurry as she watched her monster leave her.

"And there's more. Now my Zoroa gains an additional 1000 attack points because it's equipped with your monster!" said Sunny.

"You… little thief!" growled Flurry as she gritted her teeth and sounded like a feral animal.

"She… stole Flurry's monster…" said JD in disbelief.

"Yeah… all her moves… were planned to rob Flurry of her Galaxy-Eyes," responded Phin, who, like the others, couldn't believe what had just happened to their captain.

Nearly all of Crystal Prep was shocked at the task that Sunny pulled off. The girl's friends smiled and cheered her for doing such an incredible feat. Flurry's anger began to boil as her desire to punish Sunny and her friends grew larger. Her hands bawled into fists as the girl's fury emerged.

"You…have made a fool of me!... With your insulin tricks!... I have never, ever been humiliated by someone other than my cousins!" growled the girl.

"It was a lot easier than I thought it'd be," smirked Sunny as her plan worked. "For now, I place one card facedown and end my turn!"

"Mark my words, Sunny. It is I who will win the duel! You see, mocking me has ensured the very worst for you is yet to come!" said Flurry as she was seething.

Turn 14: Flurry (Hand 0)

"I draw!" shouted the Crystal Prep girl as she drew her card. "You may think you've angered me! But all I feel is pity… pity for you. Because your last move has assured me that you will suffer an agonizing defeat at my hands!"

"Seems your cousin doesn't like getting schooled, huh, lover boy?!" said Zipp mockingly as he enjoyed what Flurry was getting. Mario didn't say anything as he focused on his cousin, knowing that she was someone of her words.

"Flurry's strategy was unstoppable," said Axiom.

"Until they found a way to stop it," responded Shirai.

"Your dragon is mine, so you can't win!" declared Sunny.

"I may have underestimated you a bit… but do not make the mistake of underestimating me!" yelled Flurry as Sunny's disrespect needed to be dealt with. "Now… I summon Heliosphere Dragon(0/1900)!"

"That monster has no attack points," said Sunny.

"When Heliosphere is the only monster on my field, you are not allowed to attack!" stated Flurry.

"I see what she's doing. She's trying to stall for time until she can figure out how to get Tachyon Dragon back, but I won't let her," Sunny mumbled.

"I end my turn!"

Turn 15: Sunny (Hand 1)

"It's my turn!"

"As long as I have Heliosphere on my field, you can't battle me!" said Flurry.

"Then it's a good thing I found a way around that as well," smiled Sunny, making Flurry gasp again. "I activate the spell card, Magistus Punishment! Now, by sacrificing my Endymion, the Magistus of Mastery, I can be able to destroy a monster on your field whose attack points are lower than Endyomion. And since Heliosphere Dragon has no attack points, it's gone!"

"She found a way again!" said Roxanne as they were stunned to see Sunny outsmarting their captain.

"Sunny's on a roll! Look at your cousin sweat, Roll!" smiled Zipp as she enjoyed Flurry's suffering.

The girl kept a sharp look on her cousin as she thought about something. In the blink of an eye, both monsters were gone as Flurry was wide open.

"Now… Zoroa, attack her directly!" instructed Sunny as she looked to deal a massive blow to the girl's Life Points. Her fire wizard prepared his fireball as he shot it forward. It headed toward the Crystal Prep girl as she took the attack head-on, with flames spreading out on her side of the field.

An explosion occurred as nearly all of Crystal Prep looked on with open mouths. They didn't want to believe that Sunny might have done it, but it seemed likely. The girl watched on with a smile before she saw something that made her gasp. The smoke cleared, and Flurry was perfectly fine as she merely dusted her clothes.

"How did she survive that blast?" asked Pipp.

"What did you do?" asked Sunny.

"It's simple. My trap, Damage Richochet!" said Flurry as her facedown flipped over. "This trap activates whenever I would take damage. It blocks all the damage I would have taken, that's not all. Now you get to select one monster on your field to return to your deck, and… you take damage equal to its attack points!"

"Wha?" said Sunny in shock.

"But Sunny only has one monster on her field!" said Izzy.

"Exactly. And Zoroa currently has 4900 attack points, so that means she'll take 4900 points of damage. And her trap, Life Force, can't prevent from taking that much!" said Zipp as they realized Sunny's situation.

"However… there is a second option," smiled Flurry as Sunny looked at her. "If the monster you select has a card equipped to it, I can choose which card to remove from it and you still keep your monster and avoid taking damage."

Sunny now realized what Flurry's plan was.

"Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon," stated Sunny.

"That's correct. So… what's it gonna be, Sunny, hmm?"

The Crystal Prep teen smirked as Sunny gritted her teeth. She'd been trying to avoid Flurry using her mighty beast all duel long. And she managed to do that, but now… she was being forced to give the girl back her monster in exchange to avoid taking serious amounts of damage.

"Flurry outplayed Sunny," said Axiom with a smile.

"She was willing to risk everything to get her dragon back," stated Phin.

"I… have no choice. I return Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon back to your Extra Deck," said Sunny as the spirit of Flurry's monster ejected from her monster's chest plate and turned into a light that shot into the girl's duel disk.

"And let's not forget because Tachyon Dragon isn't equipped to your Zoroa anymore. It loses the extra 1000 attack points," said Flurry as she smiled before looking at her duel screen to see her dragon back in her deck.

"Even if you have your dragon back, it won't change anything!" said Sunny.

Turn 16: Flurry (Hand 0)

"It's my turn. I draw. And I play the spell, Card of Demise. Now I draw until I'm holding five cards in my hand, but after five turns, I have to discard my entire hand!" said Flurry as she drew her new hand and smiled upon seeing what she got. "Now, by banishing The White Stone of Ancients from my graveyard, I can add a Blue-Eyes back to my hand. Then, by revealing the Blue-Eyes I just added, I can special summon from my hand… Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon(3000/2500)!" Out emerged a dragon resembling Flurry's Blue-Eyes, as it was just as intimidating and powerful.

"Next, I play this… the spell card, Ultimate Fusion!" said Flurry as she held her card out for all to see. "I can conduct a Fusion Summon by shuffling cards from my hand, field, and/or graveyard into my deck that mention 'Blue-Eyes'. So I'll return the Blue-Eyes in my hand and the one in my graveyard so that I can fusion summon!" The two dragons appeared before they entered a swirling vortex that emitted orange and purple lights. "Appear… Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon(3000/2500)!" Out came Flurry's two-headed beast as it roared and landed with a thud.

"And there's more. Ultimate Fusion allows me to destroy cards up to the number of 'Blue-Eyes' used to fusion summon. So your Life Force and facedown are destroyed!" said Flurry as Sunny's two cards disappeared. "Next… I play this, Rank-Up-Magic - The Seventh One! Take flight, Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!" The girl's beast appeared, roaring to send chills down Sunny's spine.

"And now… at long last. I overlay rank 8 Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon. With this single monster, I rebuild the Overlay Network!" shouted Flurry as her monster turned into an orb of light and hovered in the air. A portal opened as the orb was sucked in, and a pillar of light exploded. "Go, Chaos Xyz Evolution! I Xyz Summon! Chaos Number 107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon(4500/3000, OLU: 1)!"

"That's not good for Sunny!" said Hitch as he and everyone else had their eyes widened at the sight of Flurry's powerful beast.

"This is the end… for you," said Flurry as she stared down her opponent. "I summon my Assault Wyvern(1800/0). Then I activate my Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon's special ability. By tributing both my Assault Wyvern and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, it can attack three times.

"Three!?" said Izzy in shock.

"Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, attack and destroy her Zoroa!"

"Sunny has nothing to stop this!" said Zipp.

"Thanks to the effect of my Trismagistus. Whenever a 'Magistus' monster with an equip card is attacked, it can avoid being destroyed in battle once per turn!" said Sunny as her monster survived the attack but took a big hit and was knocked to the ground.
Sunny's Life Points: 5900-

"Now… attack #2!"

The girl looked scared as she saw Flurry's three-headed beast charge up. It then unleashed a tri-attack as it collided with her monster and caused a massive explosion. The attack had a bit more power behind it as Sunny felt it and screamed upon being tossed into the air before hitting the ground hard.
Sunny's Life Points: 5300-

Sunny lay on the ground as she didn't move for quite a while. Flurry had a smile on her face as she enjoyed smacking the girl to the ground. The others all looked on as they were worried for their friend; Sunny began to stir as she opened her eyes and gingerly tried to sit up, but the pain was too much.

"This is your captain, everyone!" shouted Flurry as she pointed at the downed Sunny. "This is your captain?! Look at her, she can barely stand and fight!" The rest of the CHS student body looked on with grimaced expressions at seeing Sunny struggle to reach her feet.

"Come on, Sunny! Stand up!" shouted Zipp.

"Get up, Sunny!" said Pipp.

The girl tried but the pain from Flurry's attack was a bit more than she expected. She tried and tried, but no matter up, she couldn't sit up.

"Come on, Sunny!" said Hitch.

The girl heard her friends calling out to her as she tried to answer the call. Sunny shifted herself to be on her hands and knees as she saw Flurry slowly approaching her.

"Acknowledge me," demanded Flurry as she got closer to her downed opponent. "Acknowledge me, Sunny!"

"N-No," said the girl softly.

"Say it to me! Acknowledge me!" said the girl as she approached her wounded prey.

"Sunny, don't!" said Zipp.

"Say it!" said Flurry.

"No."

"I want you to tell everyone who the Final Boss is. Tell them! I run it all!" stated Flurry.

"No," responded Sunny, as defiant as ever.

Flurry snapped her fingers as her dragon stood at attention, "Tachyon Dragon, take aim at Sunny!" said Flurry as her dragon had the defenseless girl in its sights and prepared to fire. "Say it, Sunny. Acknowledge me!" threatened the girl with her monster's attack.

"Sunny!" called out Hitch as he got his best friend to look at him. The boy was shown with one of the towels in hand.

"Look at her, sheriff. This is your best friend, isn't she? Are you gonna let her hurt go on? Because I promise you, sheriff, I'm gonna smash her!" stated Flurry.

"Sunny, just let me know."

"No, don't!" said Sunny, as she knew Hitch wanted to throw in the towel to save her.

"Come on, sheriff! Save her! Save your friend!" said Flurry as she encouraged Hitch to tell Sunny to give up.

"Sunny."

"Don't," said the girl to her childhood friend.

"Tachyon Dragon!" shouted Flurry. Her dragon charged up all three heads and blasted another tri-attack. Sunny saw the attack coming as she was on her hands and knees. Her monster fired its attack as Sunny saw it coming and couldn't even put her arms up to defend herself. She let out another scream as she was tossed about and smacked the ground hard. The girl winced as she rolled about.
Sunny's Life Points: 800-

"I still have my Twin Burst Dragon, and its ability allows it to attack twice," explained Flurry as her dragon was ready to fire its attack and end the duel.

"This is your last chance, Sunny. Say it and acknowledge me," said the girl.

Sunny looked at Flurry before looking at her friends. Izzy, Pipp, and Zipp told her not to give in while a worried look overcame Hitch's face. The boy struggled with deciding whether to toss the towel in to save her or let her suffer even more damage.

"Sunny, please, just let me…"

"No, Hitch. Don't," said Sunny, as she didn't want to give in.

"Come on, sheriff. She's your best friend, and you're gonna let her suffer. Save her!" shouted Flurry.

"Hitch… whatever you do… don't do it," said Sunny as she slowly tried to get to her hands and knees.

The sight of seeing his childhood friend in pain tugged at his mind and heart. Hitch had to take a step back and hold his head as seeing Sunny in this state didn't sit well. The boy recalled Sunny's dad's promise to look after her; he didn't want to disappoint Sunny's dad but didn't want to upset Sunny by disobeying her request. In the end, Hitch looked at the towel he held and simply dropped it to the floor. Seeing Hitch not throw the towel made Sunny smile; it filled her with hope that she began to get to her knees and pushed off to look at Flurry.

"I gave you a chance, Sunny. Now… I'm gonna have to go God mode on your ass. Sheriff, you had a chance to save your friend. What happens now is on you. It's on your head! You had a chance to spare her, and you didn't. You put her in harm's way! You live with this guilt!" said Flurry as she pointed at Hitch. "Blue-Eyes, end her!"

The monster didn't waste any time as it charged up and fired its attack. Sunny, on her knees with her arms by her side, just saw the attack coming. She couldn't even lift her arms to protect herself as there was nothing she could do. The attack was about to pummel the helpless girl when an object flew by her head. The object landed as it was a piece of cloth. Upon seeing the cloth hit the ground, the attack ceased immediately as Sunny fell back to the ground.

"Sunny Starscout has forfeited the match!" said Luna.

Everyone gasped upon hearing that. The girl was stunned to hear that as she looked and saw the towel on the ground. She turned her head to look at her friends as, to her surprise, Hitch wasn't the one who threw the towel in. She looked at the others before stopping on who threw it as she couldn't believe it. The others also turned as they, too, saw who threw it.

"Mario… why?" muttered the girl before she lost consciousness.

"Students, your winner is Flurry Heart!" said Cadance as the girl smiled.

Hitch and Roll got on the field as they made their way to Sunny. The boy was by his best friend's body as he rested her head in his arms.

"Sunny, Sunny!" called out the boy.

"It's over, prima. It's over," said Roll, keeping her cousin back to allow some space for Hitch and Sunny.

"I need to hear her say it, Roll. I need her to acknowledge me!" said Flurry before glancing over at the two best friends. "Acknowledge me!"

"We acknowledge you!"

Flurry turned to look at her cousin, who had a pleading expression.

"On behalf of me and Sunny, we acknowledge you," said Roll, wanting to keep the peace.

Flurry brought her hand up to pet Roll's hair before breathing heavily. She then brought her cousin in and kissed her head before putting one arm around her to hold her in her grip.

"I love you, prima."

"I love you, too," responded Roll as Flurry patted her shoulder before returning to her bench after hearing what she wanted.

Roll sighed as she was glad to have settled things down. She turned to look at Hitch as Sunny managed to come to and saw her best friend holding her. The boy was relieved to know his friend was okay as Sunny turned her head to look at Mario. The boy stood with crossed arms as he knew what the girl was thinking.

"Mario… why," asked Izzy.

"There was no other way," was all he said, keeping his stern face.

Author's Note: Talk about unexpected. Again, if there's still any doubt about Flurry staking her claim to being the Final Boss and how good of a duelist she is, you might want to reconsider that she might in fact be undefeatable. Now... the group is in deep trouble. They just suffered their first loss. One more... and it's over.
