Chapter 4
Austin- Mainly the differences would be in his beliefs and where his loyalties ultimately lie, which will affect his personality no doubt. Nothing really too significant would change from cannon Moxxie in terms of physicality though. As for Millie and Moxxie, yes. That will still be a thing.
Moxxie
Pain. That was the only thing that Moxxie felt as he woke up. As he opened his eyes, he saw that he was in a cave filled with candles and torches that were lit. Realizing that he was laid on a bed, he tried to get up, only for pain to wrack throughout his body. Whimpering in pain, Moxxie laid back on the bed. As he laid there, he remembered what happened to him. How the villagers went in and beat him up. Just for being different than them. He remembered how they yelled at him to die and how he shouldn't exist as they beat him up and impaled him with their pitchforks. Whimpering as he remembered the pain he felt from the humans, Moxxie recalled how he was forced to use the scroll that his dad gave him to save himself from the humans. When he unleashed it, the scroll must have knocked him out because he can't recall anything else after unfolding the piece of paper.
Tears rolling down his face, Moxxie thought of Mordekaiser's warnings to him before about the living not accepting him and wanting to cause him harm just for being different. How he foolishly didn't believe him and how it resulted in him getting a beating from strangers. Strangers that he thought would, at the very least, give him a chance to show that he wasn't that different from them. Wanting his dad right now, Moxxie tried to find the bone that he gave him when he realized he didn't know where his bag was. Panicked filled him as he realized he lost it, he tried to get up, only to have his pains flare up and for blood to spill from his still fresh wounds. Screaming in pain, Moxxie went back down as blood spilled from his wounds.
"I see that you're awake." Said a woman's voice, causing Moxxie to turn his head towards the voice. He was stunned at what he saw.
Walking towards him was a woman with dull pale skin and glowing purple eyes. She wore a dark purple dress that matched her blackish-purple hair. Around her hips were various chains and, to Moxxie's shock, chains that were attached to the wings behind her back. Chains that prevented them from being used. Looking at the Imp with her glowing purple eyes, the woman spoke.
"I advise you from moving, child." Said the woman as she knelt before the Imp and gently laid him back on the bed before her hands glowing dark purple over his bleeding cuts and wounds, healing them. "Though I haven't practiced the arts of healing in some time, I know enough to mend your wounds. Though not enough to fully heal you, regrettably." Seeing her healing him, Moxxie looked at the woman as she healed him. Once she was done, she looked at Moxxie. "Is this sufficient? Can you walk?"
"I…I think so." Said Moxxie as he tried to move. It still hurt to move, but at least he wasn't spilling black blood with each movement and his entire body didn't flare up in pain. "T…thank you. I owe my life to you."
"Yes, you do." Said the woman as she gently helped Moxxie off the bed. "The wounds you suffered when I found you would have killed you if I hadn't found you in time. The villagers must have been merciless to you if your injuries were such an extent." Moxxie, remembering the beating, just nodded before whimpering.
"They beat me up the second that they laid eyes on me." Said Moxxie as the woman eyed him with sympathetic eyes. "I didn't even do anything. They just beat me up and would have killed me if I didn't…kill them first."
"Then I presume you are the reason that the entire village is dead?" Asked the woman, causing Moxxie to look at her in shock.
"Everyone is dead!? Even the women and children?!" Yelled Moxxie as he looked at her in shock. When she nodded, Moxxie couldn't help but be ashamed at what he did.
"I…I didn't mean to kill all of them. I…I just wanted to protect myself. I…I didn't want to die." Said Moxxie as he tried to explain his actions to the woman, who listened to his pleas. Finding the truth in them along with the regret, she spoke up.
"Then perhaps you can tell me how you killed that village." Said the woman. With the honest and genuine regret coming from the child regarding the death of the entire village, the woman had to know how exactly he had a part in it as he claimed he was just protecting himself and didn't mean to kill them all.
"I…my dad gave me a scroll to use if I ever was in danger." Said Moxxie as he looked at the woman with regret-filled eyes. "I thought it was supposed to shield me from harm or teleport me to safety. I didn't know it would unleash something that kills people." The woman hummed upon hearing this. So it was clear to her that the person to blame for the village's destruction was this creature's father.
The creature may have been the one to unleash this scroll's power, but it was the father's fault for giving him a weapon that he had no idea how to use correctly and it cost people their lives. It cost children their lives. If she ever met this father, he'll regret ever making this child go to that village. Speaking of him, she was curious on why the child was alone. By himself. Did the father die when that scroll unleashed its power or did he have the child go to the village alone?
"Child, this father of yours. Did he have you go alone?" Asked the woman as she looked at the child. Her voice soft but firm in her demand. Moxxie just nodded causing the woman to grow angry. Enough that her wings broke free from their confines, revealing them to be two pairs of black and purple wings. All the while the woman's purple eyes glowed even brighter than before, this time with anger.
"How dare he!" Yelled the woman as her anger was shown fully. "Having a child go alone to a village known for hating those they deem unnatural. He shall dearly for this!" As she raged, she looked at the creature, who was scared out of his mind upon seeing her rage. Seeing this, she forced herself to calm down, not wanting the being to be scared of her. Calming herself down, her wings returned back to their original position, covering her back, before she sat down on the bed and spoke.
"Forgive me, little one. I didn't mean to scare you like that." Said the woman before the Imp, genuine regret in her voice. Still a little scared about her, Moxxie, nonetheless, nodded and spoke up.
"I take it my dad has angered you." Said Moxxie, causing the woman to nod.
"Yes. Very much so." Said the woman, squashing down the anger that was rising within her. "He sent you alone to a village that despises those they deem unnatural or magical. Instead of being there for protect you and be there for you, he left you alone to fend for yourself. That is not something a responsible parent would do for their child. If I ever face him, he will know my wrath." Moxxie was left unsure of what to say about that. The woman was clearly powerful. Her brief display of power was enough for Moxxie to see that, but he wasn't sure it was enough to help her defeat his father. Not wanting her to be hurt by his father when he comes for him, Moxxie tried to placate her.
"I…I don't think you're powerful enough to face him, miss." Said Moxxie, causing the woman to look at Moxxie in surprise. "My father is powerful. Very powerful. I don't think you can accomplish anything other than amusing him."
"And why is that?" Asked the woman, a bit offended at the creature's lack of faith in her power as well as curiosity on why he thought so. Just how powerful was this creature's father for him to say such a thing?
"My father…he's…he's the ruler of a realm of dead." Said Moxxie, stunning the woman. She thought the father was someone powerful, but she didn't expect him to be a ruler of an entire realm of dead. She thought he was a simple lord of land or kingdom. "He commands armies of dead warriors and monsters. He can manipulate souls to make whatever he wants and he can drain them to empower himself. He's too dangerous for someone like you to face, miss. Please don't fight him. I don't want you to die." Seeing the concern and genuine worry coming from the creature, especially its eyes, the woman spoke up.
"You clearly have more heart than your father, little one." Said the woman as she grabbed the creature gently and placed him on her lap. Moxxie, a bit surprised at this, allowed it to happen. Tail swishing around, Moxxie looked at the woman's purple eyes and saw sorrow and rage within. "It's a shame that you have such a despicable father."
"He cares for me in his own way." Said Moxxie, knowing that, underneath that cruel disposition and heavy handiness, was someone that wanted what was best for him. "He just doesn't show it like typical dads. Believe me, he's better than what you think of him right now." The woman seemed unconvinced at that, seeing that the creature believed his father to be more benevolent than she gave him credit for. Though she believed that was simple naivety, she could sense that there was truth in the boy's words. Moving on, she spoke up.
"Then I hope that your right and I'm wrong." Said the woman before changing the subject. "Before we continue further, I must confess that I wish to know about you, and I don't even know your name." Upon hearing that, Moxxie nodded in agreement. He really wanted to know more about the woman that saved him as well.
"Then allow me to start, ma'am. My name is Moxxie." Said Moxxie as he looked at the woman, who nodded at the name, finding it pleasing.
"You have a wonderful name." Said the woman with a small smile. "Now allow me to introduce myself. My name is Morgana. And it's a pleasure to meet you, Moxxie." Smiling a bit at the woman, Moxxie then began to converse with her.
"Well, Morgana, it's a pleasure to see you as well." Said Moxxie. "And I come from a realm called Mitna Rachnun. My dad is the ruler of that realm and he's known as Mordekaiser." Upon hearing that, the woman widened her eyes in shock. Before she could say anything else, she suddenly felt the temperature of the cave, her home, drop drastically to almost rival Freljord in its harshest of winters. Then, before her very eyes, a massive portal erupted from the cave entrance, and out came a monstrous suit of black armor, green eyes glaring at the scene before him.
"Moxxie." Said Mordekaiser as he hefted his mace, Nightfall, behind his back while looking at the shocked Imp. "I see you have made a new friend." Looking at the woman before him, Mordekaiser could see that her shock will soon give away to anger. And that was something that Mordekaiser wanted. After all, it had been so long since he had fought and he craved the ability to fight someone once again, especially one as powerful as this woman.
