Chapter 32
Voraq
The Vox's Tower
Within Pentagram City, there lay a Tower that was owned by some of the more recent Overlords to grace Pride with their influence. These Overlords were known as Vox, Velvette, and Valentino. Also known as the Vees. Despite being relatively new, actually coming to Hell a good bit after Alastor, the Vees quickly made an alliance with each other and become some of the strongest and influential demons in Pride, earning them the title of Overlords.
In terms of influence, they had a firm grip on the areas of technology, fashion, and entertainment. And by entertainment, the sex and porn type of entertainment. Vox owned a massive corporation called VoxTek Enterprises, that produced quite a bit of goods in the Pride Ring and in Pentagram City, where a good portion of Hell's Sinner population resides. This corporation alone gave the Vees a significant influence in Pride and Hell's Sinner population, especially the new arrivals.
Velvette owned several fashion brands that were quite popular in all corners of Pride, even in certain areas of the other Rings. While Sinners are not allowed to any other Ring but Pride, their products weren't. In fact, its rumored that the ruler of Gluttony, Beelzebub herself, has quite a few article of clothes from Velvette's more…provocative brands.
As for Valentino, with how debased and deprived of morals Sinners tend to be, his line of sex films and entertainment has garnered quite a bit of publicity and made him tons of money with his number one star, Angel Dust, earning him the most cash. He also is, out of all the Overlords in Pride, the one that has the most employment opportunities in Pride. Not out of need of skilled workers but rather a need for disposable pawns and minions to do his and the other Vees dirty work. Needless to say, the Vees have quite a big influence in Hell, even more so than other Overlords. Which suited Mordekaiser's plans quite well.
Standing atop Vox's tower, Voraq looked over Pentagram City with intrigued eyes. This was his first time in Hell and he can't help but be fascinated with it all.
"So much different than what the stories and priests tell you about Hell." Thought Voraq as he gauzed at Pentagram City with academic curiosity. So much of Hell looked like a modern day city on Earth yet so different at the same time. "If only I had the time to analyze it all and take samples with me. Unfortunately, I have a task to accomplish." With that, Voraq looked at those that were accompanied with him to Vox's tower. Accompanying above the roof of Vox's tower were five soldiers, three were tinkering with the tower's broadcasting array while the other two were handling some equipment they brought with them.
Looking at a trio of soldiers carefully tinkering with the tower's broadcasting array, Voraq spoke.
"Once the signal is retrieved, commence the hack. Our lord will need this tower's broadcasting power and capabilities if he wishes his message to be heard throughout all of Hell." Said Voraq, causing one of the soldiers to nod. After that, Voraq looked at two other soldiers that were tinkering with the equipment they brought. "Start integrating that equipment to the tower. We want every channel, every phone, everything connected to Hell's network to hear our lord's broadcast. And we want it nonstop with no possible way to stop our broadcast unless we permit it. Understood?" The other soldiers nodded at Voraq's orders before going back to what they were doing. With that done, Voraq looked at the Niskaru he brought. Niskaru that he had just created and on Mordekaiser's orders.
They were made on rather short notice and Voraq doubted they will complete the task they were created for, but if anyone can make anything work on short notice regarding biological-related material it was Voraq. And if they proved successful, well that would be a great boon for his lord and master. As well as inspiring a few more ideas within Voraq's mind. "As for you three, you are here to ensure no one finds us. Let us hope that you are up for the task." Voraq received some wails from his creations as a form of confirmation of his words. Satisfied, Voraq waited patiently for the signal to arrive so they can begin their part of Mordekaiser's latest plan against Hell.
Pride Ring
Cannibal Colony
In the Pride Ring, there was a town that held an architectural style resembling that of an American town in the 1910s with its denizens also possessing a dress style of that era as well as mannerisms befitted that era for gentlemen and ladies. At first glance, one would think this place was a utopia of morals and manners in Hell. And, in some ways, it was. However, there was one tiny little fact about the town that left it rather undesirable for most Sinners and denizens of Hell.
For one that doesn't have mannerisms or clothing befitting the era that the town and its citizens live in, they would be beset by the people of the town and…devoured. Yes, all citizens of this town were cannibals who loved to devour the flesh of other demons whenever they got the chance, which happened more often than one would think. Hence why this town was called the Cannibal Colony. It was the place where most of Hell's cannibals resided and lived in.
Although the Cannibal Colony kept mostly to itself and didn't interfere with the day-to-day lives of other portions of Hell, beyond getting demonic flesh for their cannibalistic appetites, of course, people still regard the Cannibal Colony and its people with fear. They feared the day when the people of the Cannibal Colony will come out of their town and go on a feeding frenzy on Pentagram City or any other city or town in Pride. So far, the current Overlord of the Cannibal Colony, a female Hellborn demon by the name of Rosie, has kept the people of the Cannibal Colony in line. She claimed that it would be unneighborly of the Cannibal Colony, not to mention against the mannerism of the Cannibal Colony, to go on a rabid feeding frenzy on other parts of Hell. Despite this assurance, however, many still fear the day that the cannibals' hunger for flesh will grow too out of hand that they'll break their little mannerisms and march out of the Cannibal Colony to satiate their hunger.
For now, however, the people of the Cannibal Colony were waiting for their latest shipment of crumpets and tea from Wrath. Just because they were cannibals didn't mean they can't dine on things other than demon flesh.
Driving up to the main entranceway for vehicles to the Cannibal Colony, three semi-trailer trucks were making their way to the town of cannibals, where their drivers had a special surprise inside their vehicles for the people of the Cannibal Colony. At around the same time, many other trucks of similar size and stature were making their way across many important towns and cities throughout the Rings of Hell. Some of which were even heading to the personnel sanctums/mansions of quite a few important people in Hell, ranging from simple Overlords to Noble to even the Sins themselves. Such was the importance of the trucks for they carry food from Wrath that most of the recipients depended on for sustenance until the next resupply of food from the Wrath Ring. If the shipment of food didn't have the amount of food as was promised to the recipients, many would go without food for days. Even weeks. And that would not make certain…residents and rulers in Hell happy at all.
Which is exactly what a certain revenant desired along with his benefactor.
Driving just a few dozen meters from the entrance of the Cannibal Colony, the trucks stopped there. Their drivers of Imps stood motionlessly at the driver seat's, their eyes rolled up in their sockets.
After some time, a few residents of the Cannibal Colony strode out to see what was going on with their shipment of crumpets and tea. And if they could kill and devour the Imps for this little…delay. It was almost teatime.
Meanwhile
Gluttony Ring
Beelzebub's mansion
"What in Satan's name are those Imps doing?" Asked Vortex, Verosika's bodyguard, as he looked upon several trucks from Wrath, three in total, coming to a stop near the Queen of Gluttony's mansion. Behind him, a massive party was raging inside the mansion as he spoke.
Currently, Beelzebub, the ruler of Gluttony, was having another one of her raging parties. Having invited Hellhounds and Imps throughout Gluttony, some of which she just invited randomly like she always does with some of her guests just to increase the size of her parties, to have a wild party in her own mansion. The reason? Just because she could.
Sometime after Verosika dealt with her debt to Moxxie's dad, she had asked Vortex if he could ask Beelzebub to invite her to one of her parties. As a way to deal with the stress that she accumulated from not only doing her arranged tour, but also from dealing with Moxxie's dad. While he paid her for her services to him, the fear and hate that came from that Sinner was something Verosika wanted to erase from her mind. Hence the request.
Vortex, having seen his boss work hard all throughout Spring Break, obliged. Besides, it gave him an excuse to have more time with his girlfriend. Yeah, that's right Beelzebub, the ruler of Gluttony, progenitor of all Hellhounds, was his girlfriend.
It happened some time ago, back when Vortex was still in college. Through sheer dumb luck, Vortex managed to get invited to one of Beelzebub's wild parties, she really likes inviting just random strangers she literally gets from her phonebook, and somehow managed to get into a conversation with the Queen of Gluttony. The two really hit it off and soon Vortex began seeing her day after day since that party until eventually starting a relationship with her. Apparently, his gruff looks and friendly personality really took in the Sin of Gluttony. It also helped that Vortex didn't actually care about her being a Sin, thus way outstripping him in rank. Vortex learned way early on in his relationship with Beelzebub that she really hated sycophants and yes-men.
The two had been going steady for years and Vortex was considering making a proposal to marry her. The only reason he didn't do so yet was because her court would be abosutely livid with it and would do anything they could to stop the Queen of Gluttony from marrying a lowborn Hellhound. Her own creation for Satan's sake. There was also the fact that he might be used against her by her fellow Sins or the various demonic nobles in Hell as a means to gain her power or position as ruler of Gluttony. This was Hell after all. Attempts to gain more power for oneself and their family was common amongst the nobility and leaders in Hell. And, although Vortex was one though cookie, having been trained up in martial arts that utilize his claws, strength, and teeth that came with being a Hellhound, he knew he stood no chance against the nobles of Hell, who all had some usage of magic that he just had no answer for beyond luck and being smart.
Back to the invite, Vortex asked Bee if she could invite Verosika to one of her parties the next time his boss was free to attend. Bee, being herself, agreed without much issue and made plans with Verosika about the party. And here they were, having the time of their lives. At least for Verosika and Bee. Vortex, having spotted the trucks of Wrath coming to Bee's mansion, couldn't help but feel something was off with them.
Now, Vortex won't deny that his girlfriend wasted a lot of food and drinks with her parties with Vortex knowing for a fact that she had at least four parties a month, all of which tend to last three days at the minimum. And if she could, she would be partying all year long, but between her annual meeting with Lucifer, the other Sins, and her court, she couldn't do that, much to her disappointment. That and the fact that no one wanted to party with feces, trash, and puke all around them. All of which tend to happen with such long parties.
Such rampant partying also meant that Beelzebub needed a constant resupply from Wrath, who produced a lot of her party food and drinks. Something that annoyed Satan, the ruler of Wrath, to no end. Vortex remembered hearing some gossip that if Beelzebub would just stop partying for even a month, there would be so much more food and drinks for the rest of Hell. Given what Vortex had seen from his girlfriend's parties, he had to agree. Even with her magically sizing up the food and drinks of her parties so that her partygoers wouldn't be out of refreshments while they parties, they still used up a lot of food and drinks. Maybe Vortex needed to speak to his girlfriend about this?
Anyway, Vortex watched the trucks just staying in front of Beelzebub's mansion, the drivers staying in their seats while various partygoers were either throwing up all around them, going to Beelzebub's mansion to party more, or just taking pictures of the trucks as they drunkenly moved around. Narrowing his one good eye, Vortex was about to go out and figure out what was going on when he suddenly felt four hands wrapping around his waist.
"Hey!" Yelled a familiar and cheerful voice as Vortex felt someone hugged him from behind. "What's my hunk doing not partying?" Vortex just chuckled as he turned around to see who grabbed him.
The one that grabbed him was his girlfriend, Beelzebub herself, in her usual fox-demon form. The one that she used when she wanted to interact with the normal folks in Hell without them getting all creeped out by her demonic form.
Her foxlike form had cream-colored fur that had large ears with bold reddish-pink stripes on them. Her chin was pointed and colored white with her nose being the shape of a small black heart. She had spotted markings on the sides of her face with a noticeable one being a pink U mark on her forehead. Her eyes had light yellow sclera with magenta pupils. Her eyebrows were extended upward like bee antennae. The tips of her ears also had black antennae as well. Finally, her four arms, all of which her hugging her boyfriend tightly, displayed four-fingered nail-polished hands and she stood gracefully on two long legs. Finally, the Queen of Gluttony had two light-colored bee wings on her back.
For attire, she wore tattered short pink shorts with a lower dark pink stripe on them and a magenta tank top that had a strawberry pattern and a heart-shaped hole in the center for decoration. Black fingerless gloves were on all four of her arms. Her lower chest glowed with a variety of liquid colors of various bright colors, akin to a lava lamp. She wore a three-pointed black crown on her head and the top of her hair was magenta, then teal, both of which were in the shape of flames. Finally, her long tail and her long thick mane of hair swirled like thick honey and morphed into a variety of colors like a rainbow lava lamp. Overall, the Queen of Gluttony was quite beautiful. For Hellhounds anyway and probably all of Hell as well.
"Well, Bee." Said Vortex as he hugged his girlfriend back, using his nickname for her, one that she quite liked. "Your latest shipment of food came from Wrath. But the drivers are acting…off."
"Off?" Asked Beelzebub, tilting her head curiously as she looked at the offending drivers and their trucks. "What exactly is off about them?"
"Well, for one, they're all just parked in the middle of your mansion's front driveway instead of going to the back where people can't steal shit from them." Said Vortex as the two looked at the trucks, still not moving. "Two, the drivers are just sitting in their seats, not unloading the stuff. And three, well I got a bad feeling." Rather than get worried, Beelzebub just laughed.
"C'mon Tex, nothing is wrong." Said Beelzebub as she lightly pushed her boyfriend away. "The drivers probably had a bad day is all. Or probably got too drunk or something. They'll come to their senses soon enough. Besides, we still got plenty of food and stuff to go around. No need to get more food for the party. So, let's just relax and find your boss so we can party with her. I want to see how much of my Beelzejuice she can drink before she goes under."
"I don't know, Bee." Said Vortex, still having that bad feeling in his gut. "Something's not right. I can feel it. Like something bad is going to happen." Upon hearing that, Beelzebub just laughed out loud.
"C'mon, Tex." Said Beelzebub, using her own pet name for her boyfriend. "What kind of idiot would try anything against the Queen of Gluttony. She got her answer almost immediately.
Exactly after she said her last sentence, the cargo containers of the trucks suddenly exploded, creating a massive explosion that shattered all the windows in Beelzebub's home before a massive white cloud formed from the explosion and began flooding the mansion and its surroundings. Screams of panic and shock came from the partygoers as suddenly their good time was interrupted by the explosion and then suddenly the white cloud that appeared out of said explosion. It wasn't just Gluttony that received such an explosive gift, however.
At around the same time, the Cannibal Colony's convoy of trucks suddenly exploded, killing those who came to investigate what was going in, and suddenly it found itself being invaded by a massive white cloud that came from the explosion and began flooding its streets. And it wasn't just these two locations.
In the Lust Ring, a popular dinner theater restaurant and club called Ozzie's owned by the ruler of Lust, Asmodeus, was amongst those hit. One moment, a group of Imps and Incubi were preparing to offload the recently arrived truck of food from Wrath when it suddenly exploded, killing them all, and unleashing a white gas cloud similar to those from the trucks that attacked, which flooded the club and the surrounding area, drastically hampering the day of everyone inside and around Ozzie's. In addition, several factories and facilities owned by Asmodeus, hampering his ability to gain money for himself as well as promote his Sin to Earth and the rest of Hell.
The other Sins have also suffered similar attacks on their own places of business and areas of great interest to them for various reasons. Not only were the Sins affected by this attack, but also several major noble families in Hell. From the Goetia Family to the family of Belial himself. Even Overlords were affected as well. Velvette had a store that sold her clothing exclusively bombed. The cannibal Rosie had her favorite café in Pentagram City caught in the blast radius of the white smoke from one of the trucks. Alastor had one of his favorite places to murder people be ruined by a truck explosion as well. As for Lucifer. Lucifer, well, his popular amusement park, Lu Lu World, be hit by multiple trucks from Wrath, supposedly containing the richest crops of the Harvest Moon from Wrath, as well as several of his many family mansions and houses.
Altogether, these attacks caused billions, even trillions, worth of Hell dollars in property damages and those hurt by the white clouds, which people will eventually find out that, while not lethal or even permanent, caused harmful irritation and even severe allergic reactions amongst those that either inhaled or had even the smallest contact with it, regardless of the health or species.
All in all, this was, without a doubt, the largest and most devastating thing to happen in Hell's history aside from the annual Exterminations. Not only was it going to be quite expensive for all the damage to be repaired but the attack also left many leaders and nobles in Hell quite shaken at what just occurred. Somehow, someone, either very stupid or very crazy, had decided to attack them, right in their own homes and businesses, and they were going to figure out who that was and how they'll pay for it.
Eventually, they'll all recover from the attacks and begin trying to not only find out more information about what just happened but also figure out who else was affected by it and also how they can all profit from all this, in any way or shape. Eventually, once sufficient information or when someone got impatient enough to immediately call one, emergency meetings will be called by the highest echelons of leadership in Hell in order to address this little…attack, where they will all eventually learn just how large and coordinated this attack really was.
That will be when the architect of this attack will reveal himself to all of Hell.
Few Hours Later
Just as expected, various emergency meetings were indeed held throughout all of Hell. Once they learned of the full extent of Hell, the Sins declared an emergency meeting and were planning on meeting with each other to discuss what had happened. In the meantime, the Overlords of Pride were holding an emergency meeting of their own in order to address what in Satan's name just happened. Separate from Sin's own meeting.
Powerful and influential as some of them were, even rivaling certain royal families in prestige, influence, and power within the Pride Ring, the Overlords of Pride had no true influence in the courts of the Sins, much less Lucifer's own court. They only had some influence in them when the Sins allowed them to and even then in only the briefest of moments. All the Sins much rather preferred to have the advice of those that were either from the noble families in Hell, their closest advisors and confidants, or those of the other Sins and their courts.
This was something that vexed the newer generation of Overlords, and even some of the older ones, as it gave them a pretty clear message. Despite their supposed power in Pride and ability to rise up from the common rabble in Hell, especially the Sinners, they were still nothing to the eyes of the real power players in Hell. And that was something they all hated, which was actually one of the few things all the Overlords can agree on. The others being the angels and how the power balance was unfair between Heaven and Hell.
Regardless of all this, the Overlords of Pride were all summoned by Carmilla Carmine, Hell's top arms dealer and manufacturer of angelic weapons, the only one actually allowed to do so on orders of Lucifer, in order to address the latest…incident to happen in Hell.
Standing behind a massive circular meeting room with enough seats to fit all the current Overlords still alive after the last Extermination, Carmilla Carmine narrowed her eyes as looked upon the Overlords of Pride starting to arrive. Either using magic to arrive to her meeting place, which was a building that was decreed as neutral ground to all Overlords, meaning no antagonistic actions, physical or otherwise, against other Overlords and their underlings, or through various elevators that reached to the floor she was on. The floor of the building she was on was meant to be a large meeting room meant to be used in only the direst circumstances as it was the only one that can fit all the Overlords of Pride and then some more just in case in it was needed. For this floor to be used meant something terrible happened in Hell and, given what Carmilla learned of the…recent attack on Hell, she was pretty sure what she called everyone for qualified for the usage of this floor.
It also meant that no Overlord, no matter the excuse or reason, cannot refuse to attend the meeting. To do so meant dire consequences for them. They couldn't even send underlings to represent them. Not even family, if they had any. No, the Overlords themselves had to come to the meeting. No exceptions. Even if the meeting was inconvenient to them in the slightest. Carmilla would make sure of that.
Carmilla Carmine, a tall and slender Hellborn demon, was, quite frankly, beautiful. She possessed light gray skin with abnormally large white arms and hands with sharp black nails. She was sporting long white hair that has been formed in the shape of large horns with several black streaks, most of which were on top of the horn shapes in order to resemble thin ribbons, with one big one being in the middle of her bangs. For attire, she wore an off-shoulder black dress with white buttons and white stripes located down the front and at the rim of the spiked skirt, which includes hot-pink lining, making it look like something a ballerina would wear. If the ballerina was murderous and had an innate sense of violence and bloodlust. She also wore black waist-length stockings which are covered by white ballerina shoelaces, and her shoes are that of metallic ballet slippers which she walks on the tips of her toes. Finally, she had a darker area around her eyes that gave the appearance of a mask while said eyes have white irises and red sclera. All in all, a beautiful woman by Hell's standards. Although, that could be said for most women in power in Hell as well as the men. After all, appearances mattered greatly in Hell, where looking good is just as important as power. For now anyway. And right now, Carmilla would need to keep up appearances after what she just learned of a subject that brought everyone here.
Looking upon the arriving Overlords, both old and new, both native Hellborn and those that were Sinners, who were all moving to take a seat in the massive room they were all in, Carmilla looked at them all with a professional and stoic look on her face. To the naked eye and those who didn't know Carmilla, one would assume she was simply looking upon the arriving Overlords to make sure they were actually here like they were supposed to be. The truth was, that Carmilla was looking at them to see their body language.
Even if they tried to hide it, one can tell quite a lot of what a person was feeling and about to do by their body language. No matter how hard they tried to hard it by laughing, smiling, or making a joke, one cannot stop themselves from revealing their true feelings and emotions via body language. Not without sufficient training to prevent such a tell from subconsciously occurring. Whether it be a simple rubbing of their neck to indicate their nervousness, a tapping of an object with their hands to indicate their impatience/annoyance at something, or even the twitching of their foot to signify something. Body language can reveal much. All one needed to do was practice in understanding the language, and then they had a good trick up their sleeves when it came to negotiations, which is something Carmilla often had to do, being the Overlord in charge of manufacturing guns, both angelic and regular firearms, for all of Hell. Thus, Carmilla trained herself in the reading of body language in all shapes of forms in Hell, something she was using to determine how her fellow Overlords were feeling over…recent events. Needless to say, she was learning quite a lot.
The first she took notice of, as well as being the first actual Overlord to arrive in the meeting hall, was Rosie, the Overlord of the Cannibal Colony. A tall woman in a red dress with gray shoulder pads, a black belt, and black wrists. The dress exposed barely any skin except for her dainty hands and face, revealing her skin to be pale white. Accompanying that skin were sharp white teeth that were currently in a smile, showing their sharpness, and a long neck, covered by a black neck cover. She had a large, red sun hat with two skulls and three black flowers on the front side with a large red and black plume on the top side. The first to arrive, Carmilla can see the expression on Rosie's face and can see that she was pissed.
One of the calmer and level-headed Overlords currently, despite being a cannibal and the Overlord of the Cannibal Colony, who usually hid her emotions well, Rosie was making her rage known by how loudly she was stomping on the ground as she made her way to a seat and took it. And with how she abruptly pulled her seat out and sat in it, Carmilla can tell she was pissed, though she couldn't blame her. The Cannibal Colony was hit quite hard by the attack on them. Not only were they deprived of food that the cannibals used to satiate their need for tea time and dessert to go with their cannibalistic appetites, but they do had other desires for food, despite what common people think, but one of her favorite cafes was damaged in the attack. One that served apparently delicious flesh cookies made from Imp meat as she went there almost every day for them. Needless to say, Rosie was pissed.
Alastor, someone Carmilla was surprised to see as he disappeared over seven years ago and hasn't been seen since, much to the hidden relief of many Overlords as they feared he would come for them next, was making a long scratch mark on the table with one of his claws. What angered Alastor, Carmilla could only guess, he was that unpredictable and unknown to her, but he was clearly mad, given how he was scratching the table with one of his claws.
The three Vees, a trio of Overlords that Carmilla despised for several reasons, were grumbling amongst themselves as they took their seats, all for different reasons. Valentino, a Sinner with lavender-gray skin, black antennas, and pink eyes and teeth. Wearing his usual red coat with white fluff decorated with little hearts on it, Valentino grumbled as he complained to Vox about the loss of profit he got from the attack that caused him to delay the next shooting of his latest porn flick, his pink heart shaped sunglasses outlined in yellow were over his eyes as he complained. He also complained about being here, called by an old windbag, something that caused Carmilla's eye to twitch in annoyance, which also hurt his profits. Vox, a Sinner demon with a flatscreen TV for a head, just nodded his head in agreement as he adjusted his black suit decorated with thin vertical blue lines. The center of said suit was decorated with red and black stripes. He also wore a black top hat on his head with a teal Wi-Fi symbol on it. His eyes were red and his shark-like teeth were light blue with a drip of blood on the left section of them.
Vox also was not pleased to be here, obviously believing that only one of the Vees needed to be here and not all of them. He also complained about how the attacks on Pentagram City actually caused a blackout in several sections of the city, some of which were prime targets for his corporation's merchandise. He also claimed his time would be better spent on trying to restore power to these sections of Pentagram City, thus giving his company better publicity, than being stuck in a boardroom with a bunch of rival Overlords, the most prominent being Alastor, the Radio Demon, something that Valentino agreed.
As for the last of the Vees, Velvette, simply scrolled through her phone with one hand while her free hand was tapping on the wooden table, obviously wanting this done with. Velvette was a slim demonette with cedar-brown skin, and long curly hair of white, pink, and black kept into pigtails with bangs by black hair ties. Her eyes had white irises, red sclera, and slit pupils. For attire, she wore her usual everyday attire which was a sleeveless navy-blue coat with burgundy lining and two hearts on the left side of the fur collar. This coat was over a sleeveless, black turtlenecked crop top that includes two hearts on the chest section. To complete the outfit, she wore some loose pants that were colored in blue and some dark red in a striped pattern, held together by a black belt with a white heart-shaped buckle and she wore dark, high-heeled shoes with white poms on the top and some stripped, fingerless opera gloves as well.
Unlike her friends/fellow Overlords, Velvette wasn't complaining but rather focused on her phone. However, Carmilla can still read her body language and she can tell that she was pissed. No doubt because of the forced meeting she was forced to attend along with her compatriots, but also because of what loss of money she endured from the attack. No doubt, she wanted to find out who was responsible for the attack and pay them back with interest. High interest. Whether or not that desire would make her more cooperative than she usually was in Overlord meetings, the ones she attended anyway, was up to debate. For now, Carmilla focused on the other Overlords arriving.
As she kind of expected, they all bore the same kind of emotions in their body language. Rage at what happened just a few hours ago, annoyance at being forced to attend an emergency meeting when they could be doing better things, and even a little bit of fear of what had just happened a few hours ago. There was even a little bit of curiosity and amusement from some of the Overlords, mainly the older ones. The ones that weren't Sinners and have been in Hell since its creation. Amongst them was Zestial, a tall demon with a spider-like appearance and an old friend of Carmilla, who was amused and curious at what caused the recent events to befall them. Acting all calm and professional, Zestial watched as most of his fellow Overlords complained about them being in a forced meeting and what happened a few hours ago until eventually, Carmilla spoke out.
"Enough!" Yelled Carmilla in a voice loud enough to catch everyone's attention. Once she had their attention, Carmilla, sitting at the head chair of the meeting room, flanked by her two daughters, Odette and Clara, spoke. "As you all know, we all recently endured an attack that struck multiple areas of not only Pentagram City but other cities and towns in Pride. What you may not know, however, is that the other Rings were hit as well." Upon hearing that, some Overlords, mainly the Sinners, gasped or whispered amongst themselves. Similar attacks hit the other Rings? What was this? Once the whispering stopped, Carmilla continued. "The attacks on Pride and in the other Rings were all linked to one thing." Carmilla then looked at her daughters.
Odette, the one that resembled her mother the most out of the two daughters of Carmilla except for having blonde hair tied up in a ponytail, white skin instead of grey, eyes with red sclera and white irises, and small black horns atop her head. For attire, she wore circular red glasses, a white lab coat, long black gloves, and ballet shoes like her mother's. Getting a remote out of a coat pocket, Odette pressed a button on the remote, which caused a projector screen to appear from behind her mother. Once it appeared, the lights in the room turned off to allow everyone to see the imagery that just showed up, revealing images of places in the other Rings, something many of the Overlords weren't knowledgeable of.
"As you can see." Said Carmilla as Odette showed various pictures of the other Rings, something many of the Overlords, the Sinner ones especially, were interested in seeing as they weren't allowed in the other Rings. All the pictures showed various stores, restaurants, factories, and even cities and towns in the other Rings having similar damages to what they all had just endured a few hours ago along with the rest of Pride. "These images show that many industries and facilities in the other Rings have been also hit, utilizing the same method to do so." She then showed an image of a truck from Wrath. The same kind is used to transport food from the Wrath Ring to the other Rings. "They used trucks disguised as trucks from Wrath to disguise their chemicals, all of which were the same chemical makeup. We don't know why or how they did this, but I believe I speak for all of us in saying that this attack is something that must be punished. Not only has this drastically affected our businesses and severely damaged our ability to conduct our daily affairs for the time being, but has also affected all of Hell as well. Including the Sins. We must find whoever is responsible for this, find out how they did this, and then punish them severely for their transgression on not only us but all of Hell. If anyone has any suggestions, then you are free to…" Carmilla didn't get to say anymore when suddenly a loud, metallic screeching noise permeated the entire room.
The noise came so suddenly that everyone yelled out in pain and surprise as they clasped their ears in an attempt to block out the noise.
"The fuck is that!?" Yelled Vox as he attempted to block out the noise to no avail. Being an Overlord that can manipulate electrical equipment, he tried to find the source, but couldn't. Something was blocking his attempts. Something he never encountered before. Then, just as the screeching was about to make some of the Overlords go deaf, it suddenly stopped. This made some of the Overlords sigh in relief. It was then that they all noticed the image projector showing something that they all never expected. Only Carmilla and her daughters didn't notice and that was because she was in front of the projector. It was when they turned around did they noticed what was going on and they were just as shocked as the other Overlords.
"Who the hell is this?" Thought everyone as they saw a large, armored figure appear on the projector screen. Sitting atop a throne made of dark metal, the figure starred into space before it spoke.
"Greetings, denizens of Hell." Declared the armored figure in a dark, calm, and booming voice that sent chills up all the Overlords' spines. "I am Mordekaiser and I have a message for you all."
