"Uesugi-kun?!" The class shouted in suprise seeing the young man's new look.
"Damn it don't shout and yes it's me." Fuutarou said as he covered his ears from the shout of his classmates. The classes eyes widened, knowing that only him would react like that.
"Uesugi-kun why did you change your hair?" A student at the back asked him.
"I just got some good news from my old man this morning. So I felt like I needed to celebrate by changing myself."
"I see, I'm sorry that I did not recognise you Uesugi-kun." The teacher apologized to the young man, "Anyways let us keep the talk for later, as homeroom will start now." he also stated making all of the students quiet and returned to their respectful seats.
The class went smoothly more or less, if you count staring at your classmate for the whole duration of homeroom normal. He looked like a different person in the eyes of his classmates including Itsuki, who would also steal glances.
After the teacher had left, Fuutarou was surrounded by most of his classmates, being asked on what made him have a change. Where he replied that he just wanted a fresh start.
Lunch time arrived, and some girls went to his desk " Uesugi-kun, we might haven't talk that much but would you like to have lunch with us?" one of the girls bashfully asked the young man.
The boys watched the scene jaws opened, shocked to see how the girls were acting towards the young man. While Itsuki frowned upon seeing them. She felt something swirling inside of her, making her chest tightened. It was jealousy. That feeling that was swirling inside of her confirmed the feelings she felt yesterday. Nakano Itsuki is in love.
"I'm sorry, I wouldn't mind but I want to eat alone for today as I have something important to do later as well." The faces of the girls then looked dejected that he wouldn't join them for lunch, so they relented and left his desk.
She sighed in relief hearing what he said, still she asked herself what made her feel that way. 'Why did I feel that way? Uesugi-kun can be friends with anyone but why... why did I feel slightly jealous...' the young girl thought as she was trying to figure why she felt jealous other girls that weren't her sisters approached him.
As she was thinking why, her line of thought broke realising that she still need to ask him why did he quit. She looked at his seat, seeing that he wasn't there. She frowned as this has been the first time where they didn't go to the cafeteria together to meet up with her sisters.
Fuutarou finally arrived to the cafeteria, where everyone noticed the presence of the boy who was now the subject of early rumors. As always he ordered his normal beef set but it had the meat this time.
The students behind him raised an eyebrow as he ordered the full set instead of his normal no meat set. He has the attention of most of the cafeteria as he was walking by the tables.
A certain table composing of four redheaded girls was one of the tables he walked pass.
Those who are in the same class as him though he was going to sit with the girls, but surprisingly he walked pass them.
"Uesugi-san?" A voice emerged from the table, making the other girls who were sitting at the table look around as well.
"Yotsuba? Where's Fuutarou?" Miku asked her sister who was sitting beside her, when she heard the name of their tutor.
"He's right there...?" Yotsuba pointed at the direction although there was no one there.
"Eh? I'm sure I saw Uesugi-san. He was right there!"
"Sorry I'm late" another voice rang out as another redheaded girl arrived at the table with her tray full of food.
"Itsuki did you see Fuutarou-kun?" Ichika asked her sister which she looked down.
"N-no...I think he's avoiding us... When I tried to approach him earlier in our classroom, he disappeared..."
"Itsuki are you sure? I mean Fuutarou-kun wouldn't try to avoid us right?"
"She's right... I saw him at the park yesterday but when I called him... he ran away from me..." Yotsuba said but the cheerful tone in her voice was gone.
"That's impossible. Fuutarou would never do that." Miku denied the words that her two sisters said.
Nino on the other hand suggested something, "Then just wait for him at the gate." surprising her sisters.
"And you have to apologise to Fuutarou-kun, Nino." Ichika reminded her sister to apologise to him for what she had said to him a few days ago.
It is now afternoon and classes were over for the day. Fuutarou has now exited the school, amazingly avoiding all of the quints. All except for one that was following him.
'Uesugi-san... " The bunny ribboned girl thought as she followed him. How did he avoid most of the Quints except Yotsuba might one ask? He took the other exit near the track and field club training area, where he was seen by Yotsuba who just finished training and was going to meet up with her sisters at the main entrance.
She continued to follow him for a few more blocks, to a nearby convenience store.
Currently Fuutarou is standing outside of a convenience store with a phone in hand, where he was being watched by a girl with green bunny ribbons in the distance.
After a few moments of watching, Yotsuba was about to leave due to feeling guilt on watching him, until she saw a girl walk out the convenience store and hugged him. Seeing that scene made her heart ache. She immediately ran back to the Pentagon with tears forming in her eyes.
"Oi Kawano-san!" Fuutarou tried to release himself from the energetic blonde girl and amazingly succeeded as he started to exercise more.
"Mouu Fuutarou-san is no fun" the blonde girl pouted at him.
"So this is the person who helped you Haruka? A voice emerged from behind the blonde girl.
Fuutarou then looked behind the girl to see another one with the same figure as Haruka but had twintails instead of her sidetail.
The girl with twintails the leaned over having her face just inches from his as she also touched his lips with her index finger.
"He really does look handsome. You caught yourself a good one Haruka~" the girl said as Fuutarou stepped back from her.
"Uhh Kawano-san care to explain who is this?" Fuutarou asked the girl with a slight blush due to her actions as he kept his distance from the one with twintails.
"It's nice to meet you Fuutarou-san, I'm Rikka. I heard you accepted the offer my sister gave you." The newly introduced blonde girl Rikka said as she stepped away from the young man.
This scene seemed rather familiar for Fuutarou, 'Twins huh? I already met a set of quintuplets so this isn't that surprising.' he thought.
Rikka took another look at his face and then giggled. "Hey Haruka, he's thinking that we're twins"
Fuutarou raised an eyebrow, they look alike do they not? It's not like you can't tell them apart, it's pretty easy to see due to their hairstyles.
"Whatever you're thinking Fuutarou-san, it's wrong. We're part of a set of quintuplets!"
Fuutarou eyes widened for a second and went back to normal , "Huh... What are the chances of meeting another set of quintuplets in the same city" unfazed from what he had heard since this really did happen a while back.
"Another set? You mean you've met another set of quintuplets here in this city?!" Haruka excitingly said.
" Yeah... They're a set of idiots too. It's troublesome enough to help them." He sighed as he remembered all the troublesome things he did to help them not to fail.
"Oh? Introduce us to them next time. It sounds fun. Anyways you're here because Haruka offered you a job right? It's nothing hard or anything, you just need to restock shelves and operate the cash register. Also do deliveries from time to time. Don't worry you'll be paid for the hour. How about 2000¥ per hour?"
"2000¥?! Then... How many hours should I work?"
"Maybe six hours at maximum? You still have school like us so it would be enough but if you do extra hours we'll gladly pay you for it.
'So if I work six hours everyday for seven days... 84000¥?!' Fuutarou shocked as he heard his salary. Yes it may not be as big as working as a tutor for the quintuplets but for someone like him earning 84000 per week just being a convenience store worker is really good for him.
Rikka giggled as she saw the shock in his face, "Well? Is it enough?"
"It's more than enough! I'd like to start immediately"
"Glad to have you here Fuutarou-san" Said Rikka as she extended her arm to shake his hand where he shakes hers as well.
"Yey! Fuutarou-san will be working with me!" Haruka said excitingly as she would work with someone new.
The three teens entered the convenience store as Fuutarou will now start his new job, but before that Rikka looked behind them a certain position. 'Hm? What was that girl doing?' she thought as she noticed the bunny ribbon girl watching the young man since he arrived.
A/N: Well this chapter took a while, also I think my writing is degrading... Anyways, Yotsuba just saw her childhood crush getting hugged by another girl and Fuutarou has accepted Haruka's offer. What will happen next one might ask? Find out on the next chapter of 'This story really feels its getting rushed and I'm regretting on making the other quints sad but thats for character development so its probably fine' next time!
