Chapter 7

Daniel pulled into the student parking lot of the high school on the red with a white stripe Indian motorcycle. He parked near a black Mustang convertible with a red interior. He figured that Sam would love the car as he dismounted the bike. He placed the helmet and gloves in the saddlebag and then made his way into the school knowing his fake transcripts were already sent ahead of time. Class had already begun and thus the halls were empty. He made his way to the main office to check in.

Sam pulled into the student parking lot a mere minutes after Daniel. She loved driving the car with KITT. She spoke to KITT all the way to school and had a blast. She was given a wrist watch with a transceiver radio to communicate with KITT during school. She emerged from the car and made her way into the high school for her undercover mission.

Mr. Hinckley's Class

The class room was out of the way and on ground level. Outside the classroom were lockers for the students. Inside were the roughest, most troubled students in the school. At the head of the class stood Mr. Hinckley. He was a tall man with curly blond hair and blue eyes. He wore a tan blazer, yellow dress shirt and tan trousers with brown leather shoes. His students consisted of three boys and two girls. The leader of the bunch was Tony Villicana. He was a rough and tough dark haired boy who liked to wear leather and jeans. He was a mechanic and the owner of the mustang. His girlfriend, Rhonda Blake sat beside him, nearly hanging on his arm. She wore tight blue jeans and a leather jacket. Her blonde hair was large as perms were all the rage. Kyle Johnson was the only black boy in the class. He was a prankster and wore jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt with a Star Wars graphic. The next boy was Jose Rodriguez. He was the only Hispanic student and liked music. He wore a flannel shirt and jeans. The only other girl in the troubled class was also the youngest of sixteen years old, Janet Frasier. A red head with some reading issues. She was a good student who found herself in a rough class as she needed extra help. Her red hair was large and curled as she too sported a perm. She wore jeans and a peach sweater with sneakers.

Mr. Hinckley stated. "Class! I was informed that we will be getting two new students today. Dan Jackson and Samantha Carter." He assumed the names.

"Lame." Tony stated.

He sighed. "You have not even met them yet, Tony."

He rebutted. "Anyone in this class is lame."

"Could you try to be nice?" he pleaded.

A knock came at the door.

"That must be them." Ralph walked over and opened the door to reveal Daniel. "You must be Dan Jackson." he stated.

"It's Daniel." he replied and handed him the hall pass. He walked into the class and quickly glanced over the students. He then spied a very familiar face. "Janet." he spoke softly to himself.

"Have a seat, Daniel." Ralph stated.

He normally sat at the front of any class but then recalled he was supposed to be trouble and thus he walked to the back of the row and plopped down. He sat directly behind young Janet who turned and looked at him over her shoulder. He looked back at her and she shyly turned away. That was most unexpected for Daniel as Janet was one who was never shy.

"Welcome to the class, Daniel." Ralph stated.

"Whatever." he replied.

Next to the door was Sam. She walked in as the door was still open. "Mr. Hinckley." she greeted. She then held out her hall pass. "I'm new here."

"Samantha Carter?" he wondered.

"Sam." she told him and then looked over the faces. She spied Daniel already seated. He motioned towards the girl in front. Sam looked at Janet. Her mouth dropped. "Janet." she spoke under her breath.

"Have a seat." the teacher stated.

Sam took a seat right next to Janet who looked at her with the most bizarre expression upon her face. No one ever sat next to Janet for she was the nerd in the class. "Hi." Sam smiled.

"Um…hi." she replied wondering why the new girl sat next to her.

Tony liked Sam's looks. She was the hot new girl in glass. He also found it funny how she sat at the front. He started to laugh to himself.

Ralph asked, "Something funny, Tony?"

"Nah. Just she's sitting with the class geek." he stated.

Janet sank in her seat.

"Is that necessary, Tony?" Mr. Hinckley asked not amused.

"It's hilarious." he stated.

Daniel spoke up. "No more hilarious than you are."

He cranked his head. "What you say?"

"She's no more hilarious than you." he repeated. "Here you are, sitting in the class for losers, mocking your own classmates while you try to look cool."

"You want to say that to me outside…Daniel?" he asked alluring to a fight.

He shook his head. "No. Getting in a fight with you would be a complete waste of time and energy."

"Because you would lose." he insisted.

Daniel shook his head. "No…because you are stupid enough to think it will make you look cool."

The class burst out laughing as Daniel challenged the leader of the losers.

Tony rebutted. "Yo! You are in the same loser class that I am in."

He nodded. "I never said I was perfect."

Another round of laughter erupted.

"Enough." Mr. Hinckley stated. "Now, where were we?" he looked at his lesson plan.

Meanwhile

At Knight Industries Jack put his audience through a crash course in gate travel. He stood before his new friends wearing jeans and a black t-shirt and disclosed what to expect.

"It will be like a rush." he told the group. "We have not actually used the mini gate before so, I don't know if we will have the same issues we had the first year of operation. That was rough. Real rough. You get all frosty and stuff." He noticed the concerned and confused looks. "Anyways…Carter fixed that. Basically, like stepping through a door. Well, more like being pushed and pulled through a door at the same time. More like…a roller coaster ride. Kind of…um…" he reached to describe what gate travel felt like. "being ripped apart and put back together on the other side."

Michael Knight stated concerned. "That doesn't sound so good, Jack."

"You get use to it." he assured.

"Still not that reassuring." Michael told him.

String stated. "You basically do get ripped apart and put back together on the other side. The gate works by taking your body down to a molecular scale and they reassembling you on the other side."

Michael asked, "What happens of you don't get reassembled?"

Jack sighed. "You end up stuck in the buffers until Carter can figure out a way to pull you out."

"I take it that has happened?" Michael asked even more concerned.

"Kind of." he regrettably confessed.

Colonel Hammond stated. "We will not be doing any dial out until Major Carter and Dr. Jackson can return from their assignment in high school. They should be back around two-thirty this afternoon."

"That's good." Jack agreed. "If it hits the fan, kind of need those two to save our bacon."

Marella asked. "What about medical issues? Is there any medical issues we should know about?"

"It's good to have a combat medic and a doctor. Get alien bugs and such." Jack told her. "Frasier, our C.M.O. is an expert in pathology. Hammond hand picked her."

"Her?" Archangel asked intrigued. "Your C.M.O. is a woman doctor?"

He nodded, "You don't mess with her. She will stick a needle in your ass before you can blink." he mentioned.

Archangel looked at his assistant. "We should look into bring on a doctor for medical support."

"I think we can find one." she agreed.

String stated. "I'm a combat medic."

Marella added, "I have some medical training as well. I also think I might know just the man for the job."

"Who?" Jack asked.

"The county medical examiner. Dr. Quincy." she stated. "He's been helpful in assisting police in investigations and had a broad knowledge of pathology."

Colonel Hammond stated. "Let's bring him in."

Dom spoke up. "What about gear? When we found Jack and his team they were all wearing uniforms and had full combat gear. Plus, them fancy rifles."

Marella stated, "I have secured the new battle dress uniforms."

Jack asked. "You got different colors?"

Surprised she replied. "Yes! Blue, green and black. Solid prints."

"What can ya get us for weapons?" Jack asked.

"We can secure just about anything you need. M-16 rifles, side arms, even grenades." she told him.

"How about some C4?" he asked hopeful.

She nodded a bit unsure. "Yes." She then asked, "Do you think we will need explosives, Colonel?"

"First dial out we took out Ra with a nuke." he told her. "Blew his whole damn ship up." He then than had to admit. "That was a hell of a sight."

Archangel stated. "Nukes are a bit harder to come by for us."

String smirked. "Just steal one from some third world dictator?"

"Procurement of a nuclear weapon would be more difficult." he agreed knowing that exactly how they procure such a weapon.
