Holly cocked her head to the side, trying to figure out what exactly Robert was so happy about. "You that excited to whip this town back into shape?" She asked him.
Robert loved her confidence in him, it was never if you can with her, it was I know you can. He loved that, he needed that. "That's not what made everything wonderful."
Holly remembered what Ethan had asked him earlier, smiling while she looked into his eyes. "Oh Ethan! I am so glad he wants to call you dad. I know how much that means to you!"
"It really does but that's also not why I'm smiling right now...or maybe not the only reason." Robert placed a kiss on her lips.
Holly returned his kiss, still puzzled. "Robert we have a full house downstairs, it's really not the time."
Robert chuckled, moving back to look into her eyes again. "I didn't have that in mind, I do now but I can wait. I got some of the best news from Laura." He told her.
"Which was?" Holly asked, she was beyond curious.
"I asked her to get our marriage license, I know we had talked about wanting to be husband and wife again legally as soon as we could." Robert's smile was still huge.
"Oh Robert, that's fantastic!" Holly gave him a huge hug. "Can I see it?"
"No." Robert told her as his arms wrapped around her.
"No? What do you mean no?" Holly asked him, moving so she could look at him.
"Do you remember those divorce papers I had drawn up in 1992?" Robert asked Holly, he didn't want to do it but the two of them were fighting their feelings back then. He was also trying to save Anna, things were just complicated.
The pain in Holly's eyes was not something she could hide, she nodded. "I do, I remember getting them."
Robert hated that he could see any pain in her eyes but he knew it would soon be gone. "Do you remember signing them?" He asked her.
Holly was so confused about why he was choosing to bring this up now. "Robert I tore them up and threw them in the water. Why are you bringing that up?"
"Because Laura made a discovery. Seems we are still legally married." Robert's grin grew as he waited for her response.
Holly was taken aback but so happy about this news. "What? Are you serious?" Her face lit up as she threw her arms around him.
The excitement in Holly's voice made Robert's smile grow even more. He hugged her and kissed her deeply. "A thousand percent, Mrs. Scorpio, you are stuck with me."
Holly couldn't stop smiling as she looked into those blue eyes. "Well I was planning that anyway but this is even better. I still would like..."
"A ceremony of some kind? I agree. I want to give you the world, I want the world to know that you make me the happiest I've ever been." Robert told her, kissing her again.
Holly couldn't tear herself away from him, their kisses continuing to get more and more passionate until they fell back on the bed. Robert was making quick work of her dress when they heard a knock on the door.
"Go away!" Robert groaned as he laid back on the bed.
Holly laughed and playfully swatted him. "Robert! Who is it?" She asked.
"It's me Grandma Holly, I had a talk with Noah and Seana and they want to tell grandpa what they want for Christmas." Emma told them through the door.
"Tell them to mail it to me." Robert whispered.
Holly stifled a laugh. "We will be right down darling."
Emma went back downstairs.
Holly looked back at Robert. "Tonight?" She turned her back so he could zip up her dress.
Robert did just that and kissed her neck. "It's a date." The two fixed themselves up and went back downstairs. Both beaming from the news they had both received that day.
