A/N The Easter request is here.
It was a beautiful spring day. Everyone was getting ready for Easter, they were buying Easter baskets, plush Easter bunnies , Easter sweet treats, and Easter books. It was Easter Day on Sunday, so everyone went to the church even Autumn and her parents, and Sawyer and her parents too since this is their first Easter in their new home. Everyone went inside the church to say a prayer, sing, and learn of Jesus Christ who rose from the dead. After that, all kids had a big Easter party outside and got ready to hunt for Easter eggs. Sawyer found a couple Easter eggs and Autumn found a lot of Easter eggs. The person dressed as an Easter Bunny counted all the eggs the kids collected; the winner of the Easter hunt was Autumn. Everyone clapped and cheered, the Easter Bunny gave Autumn a jumbo plush Easter bunny and Easter bunny chocolate bar. Sawyer was proud of her best friend, just then Autumn gave Sawyer her chocolate bunny since she felt sorry that Sawyer didn't win, and Sawyer was happy.
Sawyer said, "Thank you, Autumn."
Autumn said to her friend, " You're welcome, Sawyer."
Then they continue to have fun at the Easter party. It was 3:00 in the afternoon, the Easter party was over, and everyone went home to celebrate Easter with their friends and families. Sawyer was going over to Autumn's house to play while Sawyer's parents were busy with Sawyer's Aunt Fiona. When Autumn's dad began to drive up, he stopped the car and saw a police car with the police officer inside.
Autumn's dad said, "Someone must've been arrested for doing something bad."
Autumn's mom said, "Or maybe they got pulled over for driving fast."
Autumn and Sawyer didn't say a word, so Autumn's father drove slowly as they went home. When they arrived inside, Autumn and Sawyer went upstairs to play in Autumn's bedroom. Autumn and Sawyer were coloring with their Easter coloring books that they got from the church and played with their Easter goodies. After that, they went to play with Thomas toys, Autumn and Sawyer decided they could go see Thomas and they did.
When they arrived at Sodor, they could see everyone was having fun and busy. Then, they saw Thomas over there with Annie and Clarabel, so they went to see him.
Autumn said, "Hi Thomas." and hugged her friend.
Sawyers aid, "Hello Thomas."
The girls then said, "Happy Easter."
Thomas replied, "Hi girls. Happy Easter."
Sawyer then said, "Remember me, I visited last time."
Thomas said, "Of course, I knew you'd be coming back to visit again."
Autumn asked, "Is it something fun on Sodor today?"
Thomas told her, "Yes, it is. I'm taking the children for a big Easter party and Easter egg hunt at Farmer McColl's farm. And Farmer McColl said he has a surprise to show us."
Autumn replied, "Really? I like surprises."
Sawyer asked, "Can we join in?"
Thomas said in reply, "Of course, hop aboard."
Autumn and Sawyer hopped aboard on Annie, and the children arrived, including Sir Topham Hatt's grandchildren, and climbed aboard on Annie and Clarabel.
Bridget saw the girls, so she said, "Hi Sawyer."
Stephen, in turn saw them, then said, "Hi Autumn."
Sawyer and Autumn said, "Hello." to the young Hatts. Then Thomas chuffed and puffed away to the big Easter party.
When they arrived at Farmer McColl's, all kids, including Autumn and Sawyer, got off and had fun at the Easter party and Easter hunt. After that, Farmer McColl showed everyone a surprise, and inside the cage were six adorable hutch rabbits. All the kids were amazed to see the hutch rabbits and be allowed to pet them, then they washed their hands and continued to have fun at the big Easter party.
Autumn made her rounds of Sodor, Sawyer going with her friend. The girls found Nia, who looked so sad.
Nia's crew were off duty, so Autumn climbed on the orange tank engine's buffers and said, "What's wrong, Nia?
Nia said, in a sad voice, "Kwaku, my friend from my old railway in Kenya was scrapped, due to dieselization." and began to cry, wailing loudly with grief. Her eyes and face were wet with great tears and she sniffled, long and loud, unable to speak anymore through her wailing, broken-hearted sobs.
Sawyer pulled out her handkerchief and sobbed into it, crying with Nia. As she cried, her nose became all stuffy and runny, so she sat there, blowing her nose and wiping the tears flowing from her eyes. By the time she stopped crying, she had a sopping wet handkerchief from tears and nose blowing.
Autumn pulled out her handkerchief and dried Nia's tears. "There, there, Nia. Let me wipe your eyeballs. Cry, Nia, just let it all out. I'm here for you, to wipe your pain away.". She listened attentively, aiming to be present with Nia and imagined how she was feeling. She rubbed Nia's sodden cheeks and wiped her wet eyes.
Nia sobbed more, fresh tears welling up in her eyes. She sniffled again, hard, coughed as she choked on her sobs and hiccupped. She gasped and gulped, shaking from her wailing sobs as her eyes poured tears, not once stopping and allowed Autumn's comfort.
She said, as she continued to wipe the tears away, "Cry it out, Nia. You've got the right to feel sad, in this case. It's okay to cry, so you've got me to dry your eyes. No putting a positive spin on this with platitudes and empty promises, just my empathy." She held her hanky to Nia's eyes for her to sob into and wiped all her tears away as best she could, looking for context and any way to inspire Nia, maybe helping her see the possibilities.
Nia's wailing sobs went on endlessly until she had no more tears to cry. Autumn dried her friend's last tears away, wiping her cheeks and eyes dry of tears as she gave her the inspiration she thought of, then left with her sodden handkerchief and went back to Thomas.
After it was sunset, Thomas took the passengers home while Autumn and Sawyer stayed behind.
Autumn said of the party, "That was so much fun."
Sawyer said, "It sure was. But the hutch rabbits are so cute and adorable."
Thomas said, "Hutch rabbits are so soft and cute."
Then, they said their good-byes.
When Autumn and Sawyer arrived home, they smiled and kept their secret.
Autumn and Sawyer went downstairs for a snack. After that, they continued playing and watched Easter cartoons on television. It was sunset, and Sawyer's parents came to pick up Sawyer. While Autumn and Sawyer kept playing with their Easter goodies in the living room, Sawyer's parents told Autumn's parents in the dining room in private about Aunt Fiona and her police officers, who arrived at the house where the big kid who picked on Autumn lived and had a long talk and the big kid's parents and older sister weren't very happy and punished him. Aunt Fiona told the big kid's parents if their son breaks into Autumn's property again, he would have to be sent to the Children's School Prison Camp and the big kid's parents understood, but the big kid was still punished and grounded for the rest of his life. Autumn's parents thanked Sawyer's parents and also told them they thanked Fiona and Sawyer's parents said they would tell Fiona. Sawyer and Autumn said goodbye and wished a Happy Easter, and Sawyer and her parents went home. Autumn and her parents had grilled cheese sandwiches and noodles for dinner and they had carrot cake for dessert. After dinner, Autumn's parents cleaned up and saved the leftovers, then Autumn went upstairs to get ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, took a bath, read an Easter book about a teddy bear and friends (Corduroy and Friends) said a prayer, and went to sleep with her Thomas plush and her new Easter bunnies, one little and the jumbo.
The day after Easter, Sawyer was feeling bad. Ugh, she thought when she woke up. I'm so stuffed up. She got a handkerchief and blew her nose. She muttered, "I got another sinus infection, so that means days of bright yellow snot pouring out of my nose."
Sawyer called Autumn and told her friend she was sick.
Autumn said, "Feel better soon, Sawyer.".
Sawyer went to take medicine and later, Autumn brought Sawyer her school assignments and this was how it was until Sawyer was well enough to return to school.
A/N Kenya's railway does have U26C diesels, a diesel-electric class. Sawyer's dealing with viral sinusitis again.
