In a remote farmland near City Z, 1401st day after Setsuka's first training regiment
Cattle. A vast number of cattle corpses that were being swarmed by flies. That was all that was visible as far the eye can see throughout the vast plains where they would roam. And in the midst of all the corpses of the dead cattle, a lone male figure was silently looking at the vast number of corpses that lay before him with a solemn expression on his face.
Late afternoon, inside Setsuka's apartment
Within the small living room/dining room of Setsuka's apartment, the TV had been turned on and a broadcast was airing, which Setsuka, who was wearing blue shorts and a white shirt, was listening to while filling up the watering can with water from the sink of her kitchen so that she could water the roses that were planted outside the balcony of her apartment.
"What could be the cause of the massive mosquito outbreak this year? We ask Mr. Kafech, a mosquito expert who was written several books on the subject." the anchorman began the day's news while introducing his guest.
"Thank you for having me. Well, let me come right to the point. These mosquitoes belong to an entirely new species. Therefore, I know nothing about them." Mr. Kafech said not long after.
"Get out!" the anchorman shouted towards his guest.
"Ah, excuse me. Now let us take a look at the areas likely to be hit hardest by the outbreak." the anchorman continued to deliver the news as though he had kept his cool the entire time.
"So they could come to City Z as well? Man, now we have to deal with a mosquito outbreak." Setsuka said soon after watching the map that showed the flight path through which the mosquito swarm was headed towards.
"We interrupt this program for breaking news. A large swarm of mosquitoes has been sighted in City Z. Mummified remains of attacked farm animals have also been found. If you encounter a swarm of mosquitoes, flee immediately." another anchorman said as the status of the mosquitoes was updated.
"I guess I'll stay indoors after I've watered the roses." the young bald woman said as she continued to water the roses on the balcony. But as she was watering the roses, a mosquito landed on her occupied hand. Seeing this, she simply swatted the mosquito that had landed on her hand.
But as soon as she lifted her hand, the mosquito miraculously managed to avoid being killed and continued to fly around Setsuka.
As she attempted to squash the mosquito with her hand a few more times. And each time she attempted to kill the mosquito with her bare hands, it simply would not die. And as the mosquito continued to evade her strikes, she slowly began to get angrier with every failed attempt she made to take the mosquitoes' life.
A bit further away from the ghost town, City Z
"This is an emergency evacuation warning. Threat level: Demon. No resident is to go outside under any circumstances. I repeat, no City Z resident is to go outside." a female voice could be heard echoing out of the speakers planted throughout the recently evacuated residential area of City Z.
"Acquiring target." the lone figure that was at the farm earlier in the day said as he watched the swarm of mosquitoes move around the skies of City Z with a stoic expression on his face.
Meanwhile, somewhere within the recently evacuated streets of City Z
*Shatter!*
"Thanks to that warning, they're all empty! Like someone's gonna die from a mosquito bite. What's with all the fuss of loosing a little blood. After all, I get all this free loot!" a young man with shoulder-length light blonde hair wearing a beanie, black t-shirt, white jeans and black sneakers said after breaking into one of the stores in the area while carrying a crowbar on one of his shoulders and standing next to a large bag that contained various stolen items in it.
But no sooner had he said this, a small segment of the swarm of mosquitoes quickly flew right past him, generating a wind force strong enough to knock his beanie of his head.
"The wind?" the robber asked himself as he looked behind him, having failed to notice the larger swarm of mosquitoes that were flying towards him.
But the moment he noticed them, the swarm of mosquitoes had already made their way towards his jeans, before they proceeded to cover his entire body and promptly began to suck on his blood.
As the foolish young robber screamed in pain that the swarm of mosquitoes were causing him, he desperately tried to shake them off of his body.
But it was all for naught as they finished draining all the blood in his body in a matter of seconds.
The moment the swarm of mosquitoes had sucked the robber of all of his blood, they made their way to the skies where a flying feminine monster was receiving all the blood that they had drained from the man.
She was a monster with features like her face, hair and voluptuous body representing those of a human female. But if one were to look at the rest of her body, it would be pretty obvious to see that she was not a human being. Whether it be her long limbs that had two hooks in place of her fingers and toes, the parts of her head above her humanoid face that was no different from that of a mosquito's face, the wings behind her back and the blood sack that was attached to the small of her back.
"Come on you guys. That wasn't nearly enough. Go get some more for me!" the mosquito-human hybrid commanded her swarm.
"Target has been acquired." the voice of a young man was heard before the mosquito-human hybrid dodged a burst of flame that was aimed at her. Fortunately for her, she managed to dodge the attack before she could be burned alive.
And when she looked below her, she saw a young man with blonde hair, glowing yellow eyes, small earrings and a handsome face wearing a white sleeveless shirt which revealed his mechanical neck and arms, and a pair of jeans looking up at her.
"I see. You make them suck the blood, then take it all for yourself. You must be controlling the mosquitoes via some sort of signal. That would explain their mysterious behaviour. So if I were to get rid of you, the leader, would the swarm disperse too?" the blonde cyborg deduced to himself as he continued to watch the female monster flying above him.
"Our next meal is here. Go drain him dry." the mosquito monster commanded her swarm, not noticing that the one below her was a cyborg.
And as soon as she gave the command, some of the mosquitoes made their way to their new target and surrounded him completely.
"Incinerate." the blonde cyborg simply said before releasing a burst of fire from one of his hands and completely burning them all to nothing.
The mosquito monster was shocked to see them all getting burnt to a crisp before her eyes.
"I am about to eliminate you. Stay where you are." the cyborg said while aiming his outstretched arm towards her so that he could incinerate her.
"You, eliminate me? Go on and try!" the female mosquito monster shouted out to her opponent as he released a burst of flames from his hands.
Back at Setsuka's apartment, City Z's Ghost Town
"I got you." Setsuka who had veins popping out of her head and arms as she had the palms of her hands together. But unfortunately for her, she had failed to kill the mosquito once more seeing as it simply began to fly around her yet again.
'You damn mosquito!' the bald woman thought to herself while gritting he teeth in frustration.
Meanwhile at one of the buildings next to the one housing Setsuka's apartment, a feminine figure with ninja attire could be seen observing Setsuka struggling to kill the mosquito.
'Is this really the human that killed father with a single kick? It is hard to believe that someone like her is capable of beating my father if she struggles against a tiny creature that is so easy to kill.' the female Subterranean thought to herself while being completely unimpressed by the actions of the bald woman she was spying on.
Out on the street where the cyborg and the mosquito monster were engaging each other in combat
The blonde cyborg ran and jumped from the walls of a building in order to get closer to the flying monster girl, she dodged his attack while also landing a hit on him whenever she could.
When the young cyborg attempted to land a direct hit on her, Mosquito Girl simply blocked his punch before swiping at his back, which in turn resulted in him falling back to the ground.
And when one of her hits resulted in the cyborg being distanced from her once again, he began to fire off bursts of flames from one of his hands aiming to incinerate him.
But unfortunately for the young cyborg, she easily all the flaming attacks that he had fired towards her and managed to rip off the arm that was firing at her by extending her proboscis.
"Maybe a leg next?" the flying monster girl taunted while giggling before she noticed that her legs were severed from her.
As she looked down to her opponent, she saw that he was holding two of her legs before he tossed them to the ground and gave her a stern look.
She then began to flee from her opponent.
"Impossible. You can not escape from me." the blonde cyborg said as he fired a larger flame attack from his remaining arm. But the attack had ended up hitting a swarm of mosquitoes that the monster had called for.
"What the hell is that guy? He's gonna get me if I don't do something. The townspeople may all be hiding, but there are plenty of animals around," the mosquito monster girl began to monologue after gaining some distance from the blonde cyborg "Come here little ones. Empty all your stored juices into me!" before making her order for all of the mosquitoes that were under her control.
'So many. If she's been collecting blood from the whole town and beyond, then it may not simply be a food source for her. I should put an end to this as soon as possible.' the young cyborg thought to himself after catching up to the mosquito monster and seeing the large number of mosquitoes surrounding her.
"Get back here you stupid bug! I'm not done with you yet, you damn mosquito!" the cyborg suddenly heard an angry female voice from nearby, which resulted in him turning around to the direction of the voice only to see a bald woman chasing a mosquito while spraying a can of pesticide in front of her.
'What is with this idiot?' the yellow-eyed cyborg said as he watched the bald woman who was currently spitting out some of the pesticide that had entered her mouth.
"Huh? What's with that loud humming noise all of a sudden? Are those mosquitoes?" the young bald woman exclaimed as she looked up to the sky above her and saw the large swarm of mosquitoes that had gathered there.
"You over there. Evacuate now. That swarm is conscious. If it senses you, it will immediately attack." the young cyborg told Sestuka while briefly looking at her before returning his attention to the gathering swarm of mosquitoes.
"Seriously? That's not good. We should just-"
"Ahahaha!"
But before Setsuka could finish her sentence, an evil feminine laughter was suddenly heard from within the swarm.
"Oh." was all Setsuka said as the swarm of mosquitoes made their way down towards the spot where she and the cyborg were standing on.
And as they made their way down towards the empty streets below them, the mosquitoes were destroying some of the surrounding buildings in the city. Much to the shock of the people involved.
*BOOOOM!*
A loud explosion was heard from where the mosquitoes had gathered. It turned out that the mosquitoes had been burnt my the massive explosion that had been caused by the large scale flame attack that was generated by the blonde cyborg.
"Since you spoke, I thought you would at least have human-level intelligence. But you were just a bug. You brought all the mosquitoes together into one, easy-to-burn swarm. When I spotted you, I confirmed there were no living beings within 500 meters, so I should be free away." the cyborg said as he observed the scorched buildings around him.
"Wait, that woman might have-"
"Man, you sure saved me back there. You're pretty amazing." a naked Setsuka said to the cyborg, much to his shock.
"Oh, I guess I'll have to go back home for now. You really did a number on my clothes back there." the bald woman said as she looked down to herself and saw that she was completely naked.
'What did I just witness right now?! How is she still alive after getting hit by such that large scale attack from the mechanical man?' the female Subterranean with the ninja attire thought to herself while she continued to spy on Setsuka from the roof of one of the buildings a good distance away from the scene.
"Ahahahaha! Idiot! I no longer need the tiny ones." the mosquito monster who seemed to have survived the attack and looked slightly different from how she previously looked like.
Her hair got longer while also changing color to a lighter shade of pink, the white and black stripes that once covered her body were now been replaced with two shades of red, and her legs had grown back. Overall, she had looked to be more powerful than she previously was.
"I mean, look at-"
"Well look at you! You really went and transformed into an even more beautiful monster girl!" Setsuka interrupted Mosquito Girl before she could show of her true strength.
"Huh? And who are you supposed to be baldie?" the flying monster asked with an annoyed tone in her voice.
"You should know that it's rude to talk to people in such a rude manner right?" the bald heroine said as she looked at the mosquito-human hybrid hovering in front of her with an annoyed expression on her face.
"So what if I call you a baldie? That's what you are and it's not like you're going to be able to do anything about it!" Mosquito Girl shouted out in rage before she slashed the building to her right with a single swipe of her hand.
"Alright then, let's see if you can land a hit on me, you overgrown bug." Setsuka coldly told Mosquito Girl as she smashed her fist into the palm of her hand.
"Raaaaahhhhhh! You're going to die human!" Mosquito Girl shouted out before she flew towards her new opponent.
Of course, Setsuka was able to dodge all of the mosquito-human hybrid's attacks without breaking a sweat.
'Why am I unable to hit this stupid human?' Mosquito Girl thought to herself as she continued attacking her opponent with rapid slash attacks.
'Hmm…Should I slap her butt to send her flying or should I slap her in the face and send her flying?' Setsuka was thinking to herself as she continued to dodge all the attack
'The damn bug has become more powerful than I expected! And how is the bald woman moving so fast?' the blonde cyborg thought to himself as he unable to track the movements of both Setsuka and Mosquito Girl.
'I think I'll just slap her in the face, seeing as she insulted my bald head.' Setsuka thought to herself as she decided on how to defeat the mosquito-human hybrid who was trying to land a hit on her.
"Just get lost, you damn bug." Setsuka said with an annoyed voice before she proceeded to swat away Mosquioto Girl with the back of her hand.
And the moment that her hand landed on Mosquito Girl's face, Setsuka was able to send the mosquito-human hybrid flying several meters into the sky with her blood being splattered on one of the nearby buildings.
'If I had to fight that monster in her current state, I might have had to resort to destroying my body through self destruction.' Genos thought to himself as he stood and looked at the bald woman in front of him with his jaw dropped.
"Bugs sure do suck huh?" Setsuka simply said as she looked at the building that was splattered with all of the blood that Mosquito Girl had stored in her blood sack before she began to walk towards her apartment room.
"Hold on! Please tell me your name!" the blonde cyborg requested of the woman who had taken care of the monster that he was fighting just a few moments ago.
"I'm Setsuka." the bald woman replied in a bland manner.
"I would like to be your disciple!" Genos declared to Setsuka, having decided that she would be worth following.
"No thanks. I'm not interested in becoming someone's master. And don't follow me." Setsuka bluntly shot down the blonde cyborg's request to become her disciple before she continued to walk towards her apartment room.
"But wait, I-"
"I told you I'm not interested in becoming your master!" Setsuka shouted at Genos before she disappeared in the blink of an eye due to her immense speed.
'I can not give up on becoming recognized as an official disciple of Master Setsuka no matter what! After all, I would be a fool not to try and replicate her strength.' the blonde cyborg declared to himself as he looked towards the blood-stained building with yellow eyes glowing just a bit brighter.
