Outside the city, the battle raged on. A Baalmon's weapon clashed with that of a Kyukimon. MetalEtamon threw a Banana Slip a Pharaohmon slipped on. A Harpymon clawed a Armormon from behind. A Astamon fired at a Grademon who deflected the bullets with his swords as he rushed at the gunner.

Dyasmon roared as he rushed at Storm slamming him into the ground. He heard a whistle and looked up to see Nova chuck File into him like a baseball. "Spin Attack!" The little Digimon knocked Dynasmon a good distance allowing Storm to get back up.

"Ice Wolf Claw!" The MetalGarurumon fired a burst of missiles. Dynasmon flew around each of them then looked up towards a bright light.

"Terra Force!" Nova threw an orb of flame towards him.

"Breath of Wyvern!" Dynasmon sent a mist dragon that destroyed the attack and proceeded towards Nova. The WarGreymon glowed blue along with Storm who flew towards him. Dynasmon watched his attack explode. He stared at the fading dust at an Omegamon. "So, this is Extra Xross Evolution." He glanced down towards Takuto whose Digivice was glowing. "You plan to take me seriously now?"

"If stopping you means keeping everyone safe, I'm coming at you with everything I got!"

Mameo stood next to Takuto. "This shouldn't be a problem for you. I'm going to help the others guard the gate."

"Okay." Takuto nodded and watched Mameo run back with File before turning to the fight at hand. "Let's make this quick Omni!"

"Right!" Omni and Dynasmon glowed before ramming into each other.

Elsewhere Gaia and Skyla merged into Faye before charging towards Craniamon who blocked her spear with his shield. He spun around for a slash with his spear, but Faye flew up above it. "Bio Field!" She unleashed a storm of green mist.

Craniamon coughed on it for a moment before spinning his spear. "Waltz's End!" He blew the smog away with a tornado of his own. He looked around for Faye but she was gone. "Where did-

"Gran del Sol!"

"Breath of the Gods!" Craniamon turned around and blocked Faye's beam attack. "Hmph! You'll need to try harder than that to land a surprise attack on me!"

Shiki grinned to Shoma. "That wasn't the surprise attack."

"Transcendent Cannon!" Noir fired at Craniamon from behind. Craniamon reached behind him and spun his spear to block the attack.

Shoma and Shiki nodded to each other. "Now Yuugo!"

"HiAndromon!"

Yuugo's Digimon skidded behind Craniamon. "Atomic Ray!"

"GAAAAAAAH!" Craniamon was hit in the back and blown into the sky where Magnamon was charging.

"S-Gold Solar Storm!" He burst with golden light. Craniamon was sent slamming back into the ground.

"We got him!" Shiki cheered. The humans heard a shout and looked behind them to see Silphymon getting knocked over by a Mammothmon who along with other Digimon started storming into the city.

"Oh no!" Shoma gasped.

Yuugo pulled out his Digivice. "Some of them slipped past us and are getting into the city!"

"I'm done with preparations on my end!" Zero replied over the DigiLine. "I'm heading out to stop them!"

"Come on!" Shoma said as HiAndromon helped Silphymon up. "Let's go help them!" The group nodded and started running for the city when…

"Awesome Quake!" They stopped and yelped when the ground shook. They looked behind themselves to see Craniamon getting back on his feet. "I'm not finished yet!"

"You've gotta be kidding me…" Shiki grumbled.

Yuugo approached. "He's worn down. HiAndromon and I can handle him. Magnamon, Silphymon, hold the line. Shiki, Shoma, get to the city."

"Be careful!" Shoma said as he and Shiki took off. Silphymon ran ahead to join the fight around them as Magnamon flew off.

Craniamon approached him. "You think you can defeat me on your lonesome boy?"

"I do." Yuugo said. "Now that I've seen how you fight, I know exactly what I need to do to win."

"Hmph. So sure of yourself. You're just as arrogant as that old man."

"Who?"

"Enough banter." Craniamon held up his spear. "I will destroy you two. And then we retake the city."

"Now who's being arrogant?" HiAndromon asked as he drew his weapons.

Omegamon shot down three ShinMonzaemon at once as Yukimura struck down a Ogremon. TigerVespamon cut a Cyclonemon apart giving the Resistance more ground to proceed. A Deputymon shot down a IceDevimon and a Gorillamon rammed down a JungleMojyamon before noticing Brother Sorrow walking calmly through the battlefield. "I don't see his Digimon. He's open!" Gorillamon rushed towards him and raised his fist. "I'll finish him here!"

Kouta gasped as he saw the Digimon rush at Brother Sorrow. "No! Wait!"

"Skip Frame." Brother Sorrow snapped his fingers.

Gorillamon gasped stopping right in front of Brother Sorrow. CresGarurumon stood behind him putting his spear right through him. "How…?" Gorillamon faded. CresGarurumon walked beside Brother Sorrow as he aproached. BlitzGreymon and Creepymon flew to him.

"Here he comes…" Sakuyamon murmured.

"Erk…!" Nokia trembled as she stared at the man.

"Nokia? What's wrong?" Omegamon asked.

"I-I don't know… just looking at this guy makes me uneasy…"

"Yeah... even with that mask on him I feel like he's overwhelming with furry…" Kouta said.

Fei punched into her palm. "Yeah? I got plenty of furry myself for what he did to me. Time to return the favor." She pointed at him. TiggerVespamon, Sakuyamon, and Phoenixmon flew at him all at once.

Brother Sorrow didn't stop. "BlitzGreymon."

"Elect Guard." BlitzGreymon blocked TigerVespamon's Royal Meisters, Sakuyamon's staff and Phoenixmon's talons all at once. Once they bounced off it… "Thunder Vernier!"

"Fury: Ice Moon Fang!"

"Chaos Flare!" Creepymon attacked Sakuyamon, CresGarurumon attacked Phoenixmon, and BlitzGreymon shot TigerVespamon. Fei's Digimon were blown into the air and rolled across the ground in front of Fei.

"His Digimon are tough…" Fei said as her Digimon got back on their feet.

"When I first met you Fei, there was a massive gap in power between us… You and Yuuko were far beyond me… back then… I wished to become as skilled and powerful as the two of you."

"Pfft. You? On the same level as me and Yuuko?" Fei grinned. "What a naive thought."

Brother Sorrow chuckled. "I agree. Why be content with being at your level when I can rise far beyond scum like you? And I have done exactly that. I have come full circle Fei. The student surpasses him mentors."

Fei raised an eyebrow. "Say what?"

"Now then…" Brother Sorrow stood in front of the Tamers ignoring the Digimon fighting around them. "Let's settle this."

Crusadermon watched as the battle unfolded before her. After Rosemon Burst Mode destroyed a Fangmon with her whip Ami noticed her. "She's not fighting or even giving out orders… what's her game this time?"

"If she's not joining the fight willingly, then I say we force it on her!" Sayo replied. "Dianamon!"

Dianamon flew up dodging a Flymon's stinger before charging at the Royal Knight. "Crescent Harken!" She slashed right into Crusadermon and she exploded in red flower petals. "That was… surprisingly easy."

"Wait…" Ami murmured. "I've seen this before… That wasn't Crusadermon!"

"What?" Sayo turned to her. "Are you saying that was some kind of decoy?"

Gallantmon closed his eyes. Then he gasped. "I feel her presence… she's in the city!"

"Damn!" Kazuhamon scowled. "This was a trap!"

"I'll warn the others!" Ami said. She put her goggles on.

"Hurry!" Gallantmon shouted as he stabbed a MadLeomon. "We don't know what else she has up her sleeve!"

Mirei and the others were working as fast as they could. "Uploading the program." Arata said.

"Make it fast." Mirei replied. "We already have Digimon invading the city." She then got a call. "Ami, what is it?"

"The Crusadermon we confronted was a fake! Gallantmon sensed her inside the city somewhere!"

"What?!"

"Is she trying to sabotage us?" Doctor Datamon asked. "Or is she after the DigiCore?"

"Does it matter?" Hudiemon asked. "She needs to be stopped!" Keisuke stood up and went towards the door. "Keisuke?"

"I'll do it. I'll find Crusadermon."

"Are you sure you're up for this?" Terriermon Assistant asked.

"Yeah. I have to be." Keisuke ran out of the room.

"Keisuke…" Hudiemon muttered under her breath.

Mirei smiled. "I'm sure it will be fine. He has grown nicely during his battles. Just like Takumi and Ami. In the meantime we… hmm?"

Everyone turned to Mirei's focused gaze on her laptop. "What's wrong?" Professor Agumon asked.

"Oh my…"

Koh and Himari were running through the streets as fast as they could. They gasped when they saw a swarm of hostile Elephantmon storming towards him. "Apollomon!"

"Rikka!"

"Fire Tornado!"

"Solblaster!" Their Digimon sent a burst of fire that incinerated all of them. "The enemy has slipped into the city!"

"Not good!" Koh growled. "Helping Sayo and the others guard the gates just became irrelevant! We need to wipe out the enemy inside!"

Himari nodded before her Digivice pinged. "Huh? Hello?"

"Koh, Himari, this is Mirei. Listen to me carefully. The enemy has infiltrated the city."

"Yeah, we noticed."

"But more worryingly… I'm detecting a scan being performed of it."

"A scan?" Koh asked.

"It's not part of the city's systems. I believe the Next Order is trying to locate Baihumon's DigiCore."

"Oh no… we can't let them find it!" Rikka said.

"Where's the scanner?" Koh asked.

"I don't know." Mirei replied. "All I know is that they are inside the city's walls and must be scanning from a high up location…"

"Oh, that helps." Himari sighed looking up. "This city is full of tall buildings."

"Wait…" Koh thought for a moment. "Not from a building… to scan the whole city they'd have to keep moving. So, they must be flying over the city!"

"A clever deduction." Mirei replied. "I had the same thought. There are many enemies flying over the city right now. Our air defense is dealing with them, but it'll be hard to track the scanners among them in the scuffle. Try to look for enemies that seem to be avoiding combat."

"Got it." Himari nodded before looking at Koh. "Let's go!"

"Right!"

Takumi and Yuuko were deep within the sewer now. They felt the area rumble and looked up. "The fight must have hit the streets." Yuuko said.

Rapidmon Armor sensed multiple Digimon directly above them. "It has…"

Takumi clenched his fists. "I should be up there… protecting everyone… but…"

Yuuko put a hand on his shoulder. "Takumi, we need to do this otherwise more attacks like this are going to happen even if we do get the city off the ground. From what you told me I'd say this could very well be the most important task right now."

Takumi sighed. "I know." He looked at a wall. "Okay. According to Mirei the entrance should be here… There should be two hidden switched around here somewhere."

They felt more rumbling. "Whoa… It must be one hell of a party up there." BlackWarGreymon said.

Rapidmon Armor's ears perked. "No… it's coming from our left!"

Takumi heard something getting closer from inside the wall. He grabbed Yuuko and dove aside holding her just as said wall exploded sending bricks everywhere. A Drimogemon came out of the giant hole it burrowed and leered at the two before stampeding towards them. "Watch out!" BlackWarGreymon intercepted with his Brave Shield blocking its drill before pushing it back.

A squad of Knightmon rushed in. "There they are! Seize them!"

"Meteor Fall!" BlackWarGreymon fired at them, but they blocked with their shields.

"Rapid Fire!" Rapidmon Armor destroyed the shield of one of them then tackled it.

Another Knightmon swung his blade. "Berserk Sword!" Takumi and Yuuko backed away from each other as a white wave flew by. He ran at Takumi while he was open. Dorugoramon kneed him from the side knocking him down.

The third Knightmon charged at Yuuko who closed her eyes. Samudramon rushed in and they clashed blades. "Will O' Whisp Slash!" Samudramon mimicked Yuuko's arm movements through Matrix Link and cut the Knightmon down.

BlackWarGreymon prepared himself as the last Knightmon rushed at him. He caught the sword with his Dramon Destroyer claws then snapped it in half. He grabbed the Knightmon and toppled it with an over shoulder throw and was about to finish it off when he heard a drill running and turned around to see Drimogemon rushing at him. "Drill Spin!"

BlackWarGreymon caught him as he rushed but as they grappled, he heard the Knightmon he tossed get up and run at his Tamer. "Oh shit! Takumi, look out!"

The Knightmon grabbed Takumi by his head. The boy yelped as he was lifted off the ground. He struggled to pull his head out of the tightening grip that was bringing more pressure on his skull and screamed. Suddenly it vanished and he fell. He briefly saw the back of Samudramon who destroyed the Knightmon. Then as he was bracing himself for a collision with the concrete, he felt a softer landing than expected. Actually, it felt like he was still off the ground. His whole world was spinning from how fast it went but looking up he saw Yuuko's concerned face. "Are you alright Takumi?"

Takumi blinked as it all came together. He was off the floor. In Yuuko's arms. Being held up like a bride. And then his face turned red. Part of him was surprised that she could lift him effortlessly. "Uh…"

BlackWarGreymon flipped Drimogemon over and destroyed it as Rapidmon and Dorugoramon got rid of the remaining Knightmon and they looked back at the humans. "…Something about this seems backwards." Rapidmon Armor said. BlackWarGreymon started snickering as Dorugoramon shook his head.

"Don't even say anything." Takumi glared. He then looked at Yuuko. "Um… thanks."

Yuuko smiled. Rapidmon Armor's words reminded her that she and Takumi had pretty much switched positions from when he rescued her from Arukenimon. "Consider this a debt repaid from when you saved me in EDEN before we came here." She put Takumi back on his feet.

"Please don't tell the others about this."

"Secret's safe with me." Yuuko nodded. "Jokes aside, do you think this proves your theory?"

"Not really. They could have just been trying to attack the city from underneath. Or maybe they were looking for Baihumon's Digicore. Let's keep going for now and see how this plays out." Yuuko nodded again and she and Takumi went over and pushed into the two parts of the wall, and it sank into the ground reveling a steel door. "Now she said this requires a scan for members of Hudie's Dream." Takumi said.

"We could try to hack it or edit the scanner into thinking we're one of them." Yuuko suggested.

Dorugoramon scoffed and walked past them before ripping the door open, reveling the inside of the lift. "Or we can just do that and not waste any time."

"Yeah… I guess we can do that too…" Takumi muttered. They went into the lift, and it started to descend.

They didn't notice three Puppetmon watching them from the hole Drimogemon made. "That was him! One of the jerks that spoiled our fun!" One of them said.

"This is our chance to get back at him!"

"Don't forget we need to smash some computer down there. Something about them needing it to make the city fly."

"Hurricane Wave!" Kazumon shot wind into Pteramon knocking it out of the sky.

"Black Saber!" A Saberdramon slammed its talons onto her from above gripping her by her biceps in them. Kazemon screamed at it slammed her into the ground. She tried to get up, but she was pinned there and no matter how much she flailed her legs she couldn't land a kick on the attacker from her position. Saberdramon's mouth glowed with black fire.

"Whipping Wave!" A burst of water blew it off Kazemon and Ranamon ran up to her. "Hands off my bestie bird brain!"

Kazemon got up on her hands and spread her legs. "Tempest Twist!" She spun into Saberdramon finishing it off. Kazemon got back on her feet and smiled to her friend. "Thanks for the save Ranamon!" She flew back into the sky.

"Anytime!" Ranamon waved before summoning a wave of water she surfed away on.

"Odin's Breath!" Kentaurosmon summoned a whirlwind of freezing air. A horde of Peacockmon were pulled in and frozen.

Koh and Himari were staring at the sky watching the battle hovering over them. "It's pure chaos up there!" Himari said looking around. "How are we supposed to spot the scanners like this?!"

Koh squinted. "Just keep looking."

"Wait!" Apollomon pointed. "There!" Three Mekanorimon were flying around. They didn't seem to be attacking anything. Nobody seemed to notice them yet. "Those guys don't look like they're fighting. They just seem to be floating around."

"I bet they're the ones scanning the city!" Koh said.

"Then let's take them down before they find the DigiCore!" Himari pointed at them. "Rikka!"

"On it!" The Magnadramon flew into the sky. "Buster Dive!" She started charging towards the Mekanorimon.

"Glide Blaze!" A fiery form rammed her from the right knocking her into the ground.

"What the?!" Himari gapped.

The flames died down showing a Volcanicdramon. "So, they noticed our scouting team, did they? Come on boys, we gotta protect the Mekanorimon while they work!" Two more rose up next to him.

"Crud…"

"We need to hurry!" Koh said. "Apollomon and I will cover you! You just get rid of those scanners quick!"

"Okay!" Himari nodded. "Rikka! One more time! Ignore these guys and go for their scouters!"

"But-

"Don't worry!" Koh said. "We got you covered, trust me!"

"Okay! Holy Beath!" Rikka howled and glowed gold before ascending again. She then spiraled towards the Mekanorimon. The three Volcanicdramon flew in to intercept her.

But Apollomon got in front of them and blocked their attack. "Burst Counter!" With one fiery punch he bashed the three of them in different directions. Rikka flew over them towards the Mekanorimon.

"No! Stop her!" one of the Volcanicdramon said before they flew after Rikka.

"Oh, no you don't." Koh grinned.

Apollomon jumped and landed on the first one using it as a springboard pushing him down as he leapt towards the next, grabbing him by the tail and carrying him as he kept flying towards the third one and he slammed its own comrade on top of him like a hammer as they came crashing down. "Fatal Hand!" He slammed his palm into both of them and destroyed them in one shot.

The one Apollomon jumped off of got up and noticed his back was turned. "Apollomon, look out behind you!"

"Volcanic Flare!"

Thanks to Koh's warning Apollomon turned around in time and attacked. "Burst Breath!" His flames countered his opponents' and soon the last Volcanicdramon was burned down.

Meanwhile, the Mekanorimon were still focused on their search, not even noticing the dragon approaching them. The eyes of one of them glowed red. "Target located. Transmitting coordinates."

"Thunderstorm!" Rikka burst with electricity. The three Mekanorimon were zapped and fell out of the sky crashing into the ground. Their bodies slowly started to fade.

"Nice!" Himari cheered as she and Koh ran over to their Digimon. "Way to go you two!"

"Yeah, you guys did great!" Koh nodded.

"Of course! We had you two supporting us!" Rikka smiled.

"A Digimon is only as capable as his Tamer." Apollomon said. "We did this together."

Koh opened his Digivice's communication. "Mirei, I think we took out the scanners."

"I have confirmed that the scanning had just stopped. Well done you two."

"We're gonna help the others protect the city." Himari said. "You guys hurry and get us off the ground!"

"Pushy as always." Mirei sighed. "This is easier said than done. But I suppose we are in a hurry. We'll try to make this as quick as possible."

Koh hung up. "Alright. Let's go help our friends." Himari nodded and they ran past the defeated Mekanorimon.

Two of them faded away. The third was about to join them as his eye still flashed red. "Mess…age…se…nt…" The light in his eyes died down as he disappeared.

"Nanomachine Break!" BlitzGreymon punched Yukimura to the ground.

"Mach Rush!" CresGarurumon rammed down Omegamon.

"Creepymon, behind you!" Brother Sorrow said.

"Hell Crusher!" Creepymon blew away all three of Fei's Digimon at once.

"This is nuts!" Nokia said. "We'll never take him down like this!"

"Well, let's keep fighting!" Nokia shouted as their Digimon charged again. "He can't keep this up forever!"

Fei groaned. "Are you really this dense?"

Nokia gave her an offended look. "Huh?!"

"Do you not see what's happening? We're going to get worn out before this guy you frumpy brat!"

"Hey! At least I'm not about to roll over for this jerk!"

"That's enough from the both of you!" Kouta shouted.

"Hey, she started it-

"I don't care who started it!" Kouta yelled getting both of their attention. "Listen to me! I faced Brother Sorrow before! Charging at him recklessly like this will end in our defeat! He's was stronger than all of us! If we're going to win our only option is to work together here!"

Nokia looked at him in surprise for a moment then claimed herself before turning to Fei. "…He's right Fei. We gotta put our differences aside. If we fail here the whole city and everyone in it is done for."

"Yuuko… Yuugo…" Fei sighed. "…Alright, fine. What's the plan?"

Kouta looked at Brother Sorrow issuing orders to his Digimon as they fought theirs. "He's able to concentrate his commands on his Digimon because they're fighting together. Maybe if the three of us each fought one of his individually… turn it into three separate fights it'll make it harder for him to keep track of everything."

"I see…" Fei smirked. "Not a bad idea. Okay, I'll take the gold one."

"Alright! Omegamon and I will take on Creepermon!"

"I think you mean Creepymon." Kouta said. "Actually… can you let me and Yukimura handle him?"

"Huh? You sure? My knight's a Vaccine so he's better for fighting a Virus, right?"

"Won't do you any good. Brother Sorrow has the ability to switch the weaknesses and strengths of his Digimon. Besides, I think we can take him."

"Well… okay." Nokia turned to the fight. "Omegamon! Focus on the red one!"

"Understood!" Omegamon jumped back. "Supreme Cannon!"

Brother Sorrow activated a program inflicting Bug on BlitzGreymon. The red Digimon dodged Omegamon's shot then flew after him. "Girls, let's show the wolf man who's top dog!" Fei said.

"Mach Stinger V!" CresGarurumon blocked TigerVespamon's swords with his spear and dodged the V shaped swipe.

"Holy Light!" Sakuyamon held up her staff and CresGarurumon jumped away. Phoenixmon slammed into him gripping his spear with her talons until CresGarurumon headbutted her and slammed her with his weapon. Sakuyamon and TigerVespamon charged at him. He blocked Sakuyamon's staff with his spear then was shoulder charged by TiggerVespamon.

"Yukimura!" Kouta called. "We'll handle Creepymon!"

"You think you can beat me alone?" Creepymon asked. "Foolishness!"

"You could not defeat me before." Brother Sorrow said. "What makes you think this will be any different?"

"Simple." Kouta closed his eyes. "I've grown since then. I've learned the true meaning behind power."

"What "meaning"?" Creepymon asked. "Power is power."

"What's important is how it is used!" Yukimura said.

"What do you mean? If it is your power, you can use it however you like."

"I thought that too once…" Kouta said. "But power… you can either let it control you... or you can control it. That all comes down to how you use it. It's not about who holds the power. Or how much of it they hold. It's about what you chose to do with it. Whether or not you can be responsible with it." Kouta opened his eyes. "And I chose to use my power to protect my friends!"

"Using power… to protect…" Brother Sorrow's gaze lowered. Then he noticed red light from Kouta's Digivice. "What?"

"This is our power! Our resolve!" Kouta roared raising his glowing Digivice. "Yukimura! X-Evolution!" Yukimura spun into the air and a shell of light forming a white egg enveloped him. Under it he transformed before being revealed as a MedievalGallantmon.

"What the hell?!" Creepymon growled.

"This light… the X-Antibody?" Brother Sorrow gapped.

"Here we go Yukimura!" Kouta said.

"Right!" Yukimura held Dynas in both hands. He roared charging at Creepymon.

Takumi and Yuuko entered the hidden bunker that was now abandoned. They walked around observing the place. "I'm amazed Hudiemon was able to hide this right under the Next Order's nose."

"I'm amazed she could shelter her entire team in this small space." BlackWarGreymon said.

"So… we're looking for a computer?" Yuuko asked.

"Right. Let's split up and look around." Takumi said. Yuuko and the four Digimon nodded before going in different directions. Before he left, Rapidmon heard a noise and watched the lift as it went back up before he left.

Craniamon roared as he swung his spear at HiAndromon who dodged. "Don't try to block!" Yuugo said using an AGL Boost. "That spear is too strong for your weapons to resist it!"

"Understood!" HiAndromon nodded. He ducked under a thrust of the spear.

"You pest!" Crianiamon roared as swung horizontally. HiAndromon jumped onto the spear then ran up and jump kicked Craniamon in the face.

"Fire!"

"Atomic Ray!" HiAndromon fired at Craniamon as he struggled on his knees.

"Breath of the Gods!" Craniamon blocked it with his shield. He stood up but HiAndromon was gone. "What?!"

"That shield is useful." Yuugo said. "But it can also interfere with your view of your surroundings."

"Copy Paste!" HiAndromon slashed Craniamon in the back.

Craniamon stumbled forward. "Enough!" He held up his spear and started to spin it. "Waltz's End!"

"There!" Yuugo closed his eyes activating the Matrix Link. "Atomic Ray!" HiAndromon fired right into Craniamon's legs. The knight screamed as he toppled over. "That attack is powerful, but it leaves you wide open, doesn't it?"

"Curses…" Craniamon was on the ground. "How…? I am a Royal Knight… I should not be struggling like this…"

"I told you I figured out how to beat you." Yuugo said. "When Shiki and the others were fighting you, I took the time to observe your fighting style, figure out your tactics and put together what your vulnerabilities are."

"I would not have noticed them while in the heat of battle." HiAndromon said. "The adrenaline of what is happening before me makes it hard to think as I fight. Fortunately, I have a partner to handle tactics and guidance."

"You're right Craniamon. You are stronger than either of us. But not the two of us together."

"I lost… because of a human…?" Craniamon asked.

"I thought you figured it out after fighting Yuuko and Takumi. Humans and Digimon are capable of working together if they try to meet halfway. I know you guys hold a grudge against us, but have you ever considered the possibility of us getting along? This city you're attacking is proof of that possibility." Craniamon didn't respond.

HiAndromon turned to his partner. "Yuugo, we should go. The others need us."

"Yeah." Yuugo and HiAndromon ran back.

Craniamon tried to use his spear to push himself up but collapsed. "…A possibility where we get along… why are those old man's words constantly nagging me in the back of my mind…?"

Takumi opened a door and found the room Hudiemon used. He turned his head around. "Guys, I found it!" He ran over to it as fast as he good and got it running while the others rushed inside.

"So, what do we do with this thing?" Dorugoramon whispered.

"Hang, on, I need to hack into it first."

"Let me help." Yuuko said. "Knowing Hudiemon it won't be easy to get into."

"Thanks." Takumi replied. They worked together to get past the firewall. It took a few minutes, but they eventually got in. "Got it!"

"Okay… now what?" Samudramon asked.

"Hmmm…" Takumi stared at the screen. "Well… maybe we should-

"Look out!" Yuuko pulled Takumi away from the computer as golden bullets flew into the room. They smashed into the computer and Takumi and Yuuko yelped as it exploded.

"No!" Dorugoramon shouted. "The computer!"

Yuuko and Takumi gasped as they looked at the computer. The screen was smashed and sparks were flying everywhere. "No!" Yuuko yelled.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha!" Everyone looked at the doorway and saw three Puppetmon laughing. "Opps, my bad!"

"Aw, right when you were about to get the protocols you needed! Guess your city ain't flying today! Too bad!"

"Serves you right for ruining our fun!"

"You guys…!" Takumi remembered. "You're the ones from that tower Sayo and Koh were being held in!"

"Yeah! Where you took our playmates away and smashed our favorite toy!" one of the Puppetmon glared. "So now we're breaking something of yours! HA!" The three then ran away.

"They mentioned the protocols…" Takumi said. "They knew…"

Yuuko exhaled. "Yeah… I guess this proves your theory."

Takumi's nodded. "We're done here. Let's get back to the others." They hurried towards the elevator.

In an alleyway, a Raidramon, a Boarmon, and a Ikakkumon nerviously backed away from the enemy approaching them. Raidramon growled and attacked with everything he had. "Thunder Blast!"

"Nose Blaster!"

"Harpoon Torpedo!" The other two joined him.

Crusadermon casually walked down the alley blocking the attacks with her shield. She then rushed towards them. "Spiral Masquerade!" She dashed past them as her ribbon sword moved at a speed impossible to track. She straightened up and swung her sword as the three Digimon behind her disintegrated. "Laughable. Is this the best defense they could muster? …Hm?" She pulled up a screen. "Seems the scanning crew found it. Better go grab it now while they're panicking." She then heard another beep. "Oh? Excellent! So, the Puppetmon succeeded. Our victory is assured now that the city's grounded! What's this? There was a girl with black hair with Takumi? That can only mean… interesting." She started typing. "I'm sure Brother Sorrow will be interested in hearing this." Once she was done, she closed her monitor and ran ahead.

Yukimura swung his axe down. Creepymon swung around to the left to evade. "Got you!" He threw a spinning kick towards Yukimura, but he blocked the kick. "What?!" Yukimura tossed Creepymon aside.

Yukimura then charged, flipping his weapon over to impale him with the tip of the spear. Creepymon caught it between his hands keeping the tip just away from his chest. Yukimura lifted his spear up launching the Deadly Digimon into the air. He then flew after it. "Spin Attack!" Once he was above, he spun sideways slamming the axe down onto Creepymon slamming him to the ground with a boom. Yukimura stared at the dust left from the impact. "Did that do it…?"

Brother Sorrow stared at the impact sight for a moment. He then slowly raised his hand. "Skip Frame."

In the snap of the man's fingers Creepymon was right behind Yukimura. "Burst Flame!" Yukimura took a blow to the back that spun him out in the air.

After straightening out the knight charged again. "Spiral Driver!"

"Freeze Frame!" Brother Sorrow snapped his fingers again.

Yukimura froze right in front of Creepymon. The Deadly Digimon of Wrath grinned cracking his knuckles. He punched Yukimura in the gut. Then threw a flurry of punches wildly at his torso. "Flame Inferno!" He then exploded in fire. Yukimura was sent to the ground crashing hard.

"Yukimura!" Kouta ran towards the crater his Digimon was lying in.

"This power you wield is impressive." Brother Sorrow confessed. "But I have superior tactics and techniques."

Yukimura grunted as he got up. "We won't lose... not here..."

"Yukimura..." Kouta clenched his fist. "I... I can't give up here! Not if you're still standing strong!" He squeezed his eyes shut.

"You two will stand by each other's side." Brother Sorrow said. "Even in the face of overwhelming odds. I was wrong to look down on you back when we first met. Under the right circumstances, you would have made for a brilliant leader. Alas, it was not meant to be. There is something I must do. And to accomplish it, I need you out of my way."

"You heard the man." Creepymon grinned holding out his claws. "Nothing personal. Slash Nail!" He charged towards Yukimura ready to tear him apart with his claws. Just when he was about to strike, Yukimura caught his hand. "What?" He tried to pull his hand free, but the knight's grip was solid.

Brother Sorrow watched in surprise. Then he looked at Kouta. The boy's eyes were still closed, and his left hand was held up clenched as if he was grasping something as Yukimura held Creepymon's wrist. "Don't tell me..." the masked tamer murmured.

"Our turn." Yukimura and Kouta said in unison. Kouta swung his other arm and Yukimura slashed Creepymon with his axe.

Creepymon yelped at the blow to his chest and backed away. "What the...?!"

"Matrix Link?" Brother Sorrow asked.

Kouta positioned his arms as if he was holding a weapon. Yukimura held Dynas in the same manner. They shouted as they charged at Creepymon. They trusted the head of the axe towards him.

"Skip Frame!" Brother Sorrow snapped his fingers and Creepymon appeared behind Yukimura.

But right when he was about to attack, Yukimura slammed the other end of his weapon into Creepymon making him screech and back away. He flew back with dark energy glowing in his hands. "Hell Crusher!"

Yukimura deflected the black projectiles by spinning his weapon. He then aimed it at Creepymon. "Judgment!"

An explosion of holy light got everyone's attention. "Wow." Fei whistled.

"Wow! Kouta and Yukimura are rocking it!" Nokia cheered.

Brother Sorrow typed into his Digivice. "Creepymon, I'm increasing your attack power as high as I can."

"Yes..." Creepymon started glowing red. "Flame Inferno!" He exploded with fire that made its way towards Yukimura.

Kouta held his arms in a cross. "Saint Shield!" Yukimura held his arms in a cross and a barrier of light appeared blocking the attack. Once the fire died down, they held Dynas in both hands as it glowed. "Rage of Wyvern!" Yukimura and Kouta trusted their arms and the weapon sent an emerald-green dragon into Creepymon knocking him down.

When he hit the ground Creepymon grunted. Brother Sorrow looked at Kouta and Yukimura as the Digimon descended towards his partner. "Matrix Link and the X-Antibody together provide a larger increase in power then I predicted..."

"Had enough yet?" Kouta and Yukimura asked.

Creepymon got onto his knee. "Curses... he's stronger than I thought... It's not the moment I was waiting for... but maybe it's time I played my trump card."

Brother Sorrow heard a ping and looked at his digivice. "Hmm? From Crusadermon..." He read the message. "Aside from the detective she's alone? This is it!" He turned to his Digimon. "Creepymon! BlitzGreymon! CresGarurumon, fall back!"

Creepymon and the Digimon fighting Omegamon and Fei's party looked at him then flew over to his side. "Sir? What happened?" BlitzGreymon asked.

"Our query has shown herself. This is our chance to get her."

Creepymon grinned. "Perfect."

Brother Sorrow pulled up a blue screen so he could communicate with his army. "All units! Withdraw!"

Kouta opened his eyes and looked around as all the enemies started to fall back. "You're turning tail just like that?"

Nokia and Fei looked at the man. "The hell are you playin' at?" Fei snarled.

"I have more urgent matters to attend to. Enough of our forces have infiltrated the city. I suggest you hurry and help your comrades... unless you and Nokia would rather abandon them. Again." He held up his hand and a bright flash blinded the Resistance.

"Agh! My eyes!" Nokia screamed.

"Wait!" Fei yelled. By the time they could see Brother Sorrow and his army were gone. "Damn it... The hell does he mean "again"?"

Shakkoumon flew over. "THE ENEMY IS RETREATING."

"Let's chase them down before they can escape!" MarineAngemon said.

"Forget about them." Kouta said. "Right now, the others in the city need us."

"He's right." Justimon said. "Some of them got past us and into the city. We must protect the others." Everyone nodded and hurried inside.

Takumi and Yuuko reached the top of the lift back into the sewers and immediately saw more trouble coming from the hole Drimogemon left. "Uh, oh." Takumi muttered.

"Surprise!" one of the Puppemton grinned. The other two were with him along with a group of Digimon.

"We need to get through this quickly!" Yuuko said.

"I know." Takumi nodded. "Hit them fast, hit them hard!"

Mirei continued typing into her laptop. "I got everything we need." She smiled and adjusted her glasses. "Time for Cache City to become the next Flotia."

And that's part two of the scuffle in Cache City. But the worst of the invasion has yet to come. See you next week!
