In the angelic base, the Team Flare boss Lysandre had observed Nathan having hard times with him and Charlie. "It appears that the princess and our enemy are having a bit of trust issues!" He said. "Perhaps that could work in our favor…." "Do you think Adam would be able to drive the wedge further?" Asked Dr Xeosect as he brought his boss a heaven latte. "Last time we roped him in something the high seraphim practically ringed his neck!" Lysandre replied as he took the latte and took a sip. "Perhaps it's time I finally go down there and deal with him myself…." "Are you sure sir? You haven't battled anyone in years!" The admin asked, concernedly. "What else do we have? My grunts clearly have proven themselves to be ineffective and I highly doubt the high seraphim would allow a battalion of exorcists to hell unless it's extermination day!" Lysandre replied as he stood up, walking towards the door. "Inform her that I'm heading to hell alongside several grunts."
Back down in hell, Nathan had returned to the hotel after a trip to the store. But not before running into Charlie, the two stood there for a few moments before awkwardly walking away while trying not to make eye contact with one another, with the other residents looking at them in discomfort. "Ok, you two really need to make up!" Vaggie groaned. "It's been almost a month and you two can barely see eye to eye!" "He bailed on me, Vaggie!" Charlie argued. "He helped me with the hotel, taught me how to use Pokémon and THIS is what he does next!?" "Look I didn't mean to do that, Val had me under his thumb! What else was I supposed to do?" Nathan argued. "Angel you'll vouch for me right?" "It's true, whenever ANYONE I know meets with Val, he always makes his presence known with fear!" Angel replied, vouching for his friend. "See?" "Well even if you are telling the truth, you still left me!" Charlie argued. "Look, how about another battle, huh? Maybe some easy fun battling can help you get better!" Nathan suggested, Charlie sighed. "Ok… but you better not hold back this time!"
Outside, the two stood across from one another, with the others sitting on the steps of the hotel where they were watching as the battle began.
Charlie took a deep breath as she looked at her quick ball before tossing it, summoning her litwick. While Nathan took out his pokeball and summoned his Greninja. "Get ready, Night tide!" The Greninja then stood strong as his opponent got ready for an attack. "Phantom Flare, use Energy ball!" Both the opposing trainer and Pokémon were startled as the litwick generated a ball of natural energy and blasted it towards Night Tide, which damaged him greatly. "Guess she used some TMs since our last match." Nathan commented before shaking out of it. "Use Night slash!" The Greninja then used its Night slash attack and managed to damage it quite badly. "Don't give up! Use Hidden power!" The litwick then formed a small crimson ball and shot it at the Greninja, which damaged it heavily, enough to knock it down. "Return Night tide!" He said before returning his Pokémon to its ball.
The litwick then cheered before glowing blue. "What the?" Charlie said, shocked. "It's evolving…." Nathan commented as the litwick lifted into the air as it continued its evolution, Its small arms elongated and curled downward, its flame was covered and a small hat-like top formed around it. Once the evolution was complete, it soon took on a new form. While retaining its purple flame and yellow eyes, the rest of its body went from a wax candle, to a black lamp with the flame encased inside it and two long arms that curled downwards. "LAMPENT!" The Pokémon yelled. "Lampent huh?" Nathan then pulled out his Pokédex to inspect it.

This Pokémon is said to arrive when one is near death, and absorbs the spirit from their body.
"You're up next, Shadowsaber!" Sending out his aegislash, before it readied itself. "Phantom Flare, use flame burst!" "Shadowsaber, protect with, King's shield!" The Pokémon then protected himself with its shield, just as the lampent unleashed a fire blast that was blocked by the shield, which caused several flames to spread through the area. "Now use Shadow ball!" The Pokémon then shot out its shadow ball at the other opponent that managed to defeat him. "Return, Phantom Flare!" Charlie then returned her Pokémon and unleashed her Deino. "Shadow! Use Incinerate!" The Deino then blasted out a fire ball and hit the aegislash, damaging it greatly. "Hit 'em with, Sacred sword!" The Pokémon then stuck her opponent with the fighting move, damaging him greatly. "Counter with dark pulse!" The Deino then generated a massive burst of dark energy that damaged the aegislash greatly. "Now roar at her!" The Deino immediately roared out a monstrous noise, causing the opponent to flee back to her ball and be swapped out with Nathan's Gardivoir. "Kineticx! Use, dazzling gleam!" With the might of his dazzling gleam attack, Keneticx managed to beat the Deino.
Charlie then sent out a new Pokémon, this one was a small purple scorpion-like Pokémon with large eyes, small one clawed pincers, and a long scorpion tail. "Skorupi!" Nathan then sent out his tyrantrum. "Skorp! Use, Iron tail!" The skorupi then ironized his tail and slammed it directly onto the opponent. "Counter with stone edge!" "Dodge and use rock smash!" The skorupi then grabbed one of the rocks she dodged and tossed it at her opponent. "Don't give up! Another stone edge!" Titanasur then summoned another stone edge that managed to defeat the skorupi. "Return skorupi!" Charlie said as she returned her Pokémon.
"You're up next flamefox!" Charlie then sent out her next Pokémon, her fennekin. "Use, sunny day!" The fennekin then telepathically summoned the sunlight as it turned harsh. "Use another stone edge!" "Dodge and use, Power-up punch!" The Pokémon then struck the opponent with a slam to the face and powering her up. "Use, earthquake!" Titanasur then used his earthquake attack and defeated the fennekin.
"Take 'em down, Dragasar!" Charlie then sent out her last Pokémon, her Druddigon. "Use dragon claw!" Dragasar then struck the opponent with its dragon claw attack and defeated it. "Go on and hit 'em with all you got, Kineticx!" Nathan sent out his Gardivoir as he readied himself for battle. "Use Sludge bomb!" The Pokémon then formed a large toxic ball and launched it onto the Gardevoir, which damaged it immensely and poisoned him in the process. "Don't give up, use dazzling gleam!" Gardivoir then shined his bright light and damaged his opponent. "Again!" Nathan called out!" "No way! Use protect and flash cannon!" The Druddigon then generated an energy barrier that blocked the dazzling gleam attack, before the barrier dissipated and struck Kineticx down with a steel blast that overwhelmed him, leaving him in defeat.
Nathan then returned the Pokémon to his ball and swapped with his dusk ball. "Get 'em Echo!" The Noivern then emerged, ready for battle. "Use dragon claw!" Charlie commanded as the Druddigon managed to strike the Noivern down with his claws. "Don't give up! Use dragon pulse!" Echo then blasted her opponent with a dragon pulse attack, which left him weakened. "Now finish it with Draco meteor!" Echo then summoned several meteors and managed to finish off the Druddigon, leaving Nathan the winner.
"Nice work, echo!" The Noivern cheered as Nathan gave her a nice pet. "Yeah good girl!" Nathan then turned to Charlie, who returned her Pokémon. "I have to say, you did great out there!" "Really?" Charlie asked. "Yeah, I wasn't expecting your litwick to evolve into lampent, let alone have it know the moves, energy ball AND hidden power!" "Thanks, I guess I have been doing a lot of training since our last battle." Charlie replied, scratching her head. "And where did you get that skorupi?" "Oh I did some catching in your world every now and then and I thought it was cute so I got it!" "Well that's great to hear! C'mon let's get our Pokémon healed!"
Inside the hotel, Nathan managed to heal the injured Pokémon before letting Charlie do the same. "See? I went all out, just like you wanted!" Nathan said. "Now, do you think we can put all this behind us?" Charlie looked away for a second before smiling. "As long as you're 100% honest with me!" She replied, while Nathan smiled slightly nervously, since he didn't tell her about certain… things.
It was then that something smashed through the same wall, sir Pentious destroyed weeks ago. "The f*(k? Again?" Angel yelled, startled. Nathan then took a look at the object in question, it appeared to be a piece of brimstone with a note tied to it. Nathan then picked up the brimstone and took a look at the note.
To Nathan.

"Have a look near the heaven embassy?" Nathan read. "What does that mean?" "Probably some d!(k wanting to get your attention…" Angel said, nonchalantly. "Whatever it means, I might as well see what's the fuss!" Nathan said as he put the note away and went to the front door. "Wait, let me come with you!" Charlie said as she ran up to her friend. "Just in case it might be a trap!"
With that in mind, the two ventured into the city, where people were talking about the destruction of Vee tower. "Wow, I didn't think anyone would be tough enough to straight up destroy a tower, especially one that belonged to three overlords!" Charlie commented while Nathan was stiff as a stick. "What? What happened at the tower?" Nathan lied hastily, "You didn't hear? Something super powerful managed to slice the tower in half!" Charlie replied. "And it must've done some serious damage to the Vees, because the news said that they were extremely traumatized and are currently in a serious state of shock!" "Weeeell look on the bright side, at least Angel gets to spend more time at the hotel now!" Nathan said, trying to make the best out of his actions. "Sure I wanted him to spend more time but not because his workplace is in shambles!" Charlie replied, making Nathan more worried.
Once they reached the heaven embassy, they were greeted with silence. "Uh, hello?" Nathan called out. "You wanted to have us meet you here!" Still nothing. The two began to feel wary as their mystery caller was absent.
"I honestly cannot believe that you s#!t heads fell for that." The two then turned around to see a pair of Team Flare grunts! "Ha! You owe me a twenty!" One of the grunts laughed. "Team Flare! Should've guessed that you would lead us here to try and take us down!" Nathan yelled. "Thank you Captain Obvious." The grunt growled. "Now then you little s#!t, how about you and princess satan here give up and come with us, sound fine?" "Let me think… na!" Nathan said as he pulled out a pokeball with Charlie doing the same. "Alright then, let's get this over with!"
The two grunts then tossed their pokeball, where out came a scrafty and a houndour. While Nathan and Charlie sent out their Greninja and lampent. "Night Tide, use water shuriken!" "Phantom Flare, use hidden power!" The lampent then generated its fighting type hidden power and unleashed it onto the scrafty, while the Greninja continually struck the houndour with its water shurikens, defeating it in the process. "Oh come on! I didn't even get to use a turn!" The grunt yelled. "Scrafty! Use Payback!" The scrafty then unleashed small black shots that struck the lampent and greninja, while the greninja was fine, the move on lampent damaged it greatly. "Now, use Flame burst!" The ghost/fire type used its fire attack and managed to finish the opponent.
The two grunts then sent out their next Pokémon, a golbat and a mightyena. Charlie swapped her lampent with her skorupi. "Mightyena! Use crunch!" "Golbat poison fang!" The two Pokémon then bit into their opponents. "Skorupi! Rock smash!" "Night tide! Ice beam!" The Pokémon two Pokémon immediately countered, while mightyena managed to withstand the skorupi's attack, but the golbat wasn't so lucky as it was frozen solid. "Mightyena, use snarl!" The mightyena then roared out a vicious snarl that damaged them both. "Skorupi! One more rock smash!" "Another ice beam, Night Tide!" With the opposing attacks, both the grunts' Pokémon were defeated.
"I have to say, this was a little disappointing!" Nathan said as he and Charlie returned their own Pokémon. "I mean I fought you guys before and you were relatively easy but this took like… three minutes!" "Well boss said that we just needed to keep you busy!" The grunt said sinisterly, leaving the two confused. "Busy? For what?" Soon Nathan's answer came in the form of beating over the head, the last thing he saw before blacking out was Charlie fighting someone who had large red hair and tasted her in the neck.
After a while, Nathan found himself waking up and being dragged by his arms by a pair of Team Flare grunts. "Well we enjoy our nap?" The grunt laughed as Nathan recognized his surroundings, it was the Team Flare base that both he and Carmila Carmine were taken to when they were captured. In the center however was not only Dr Xeosect but also, to Nathan's shock and terror, a fully healed, very young looking Lysandre, who still retained his original outfit from his battle against him. "Nathan! Surprised to see me back up on my feet?" He taunted as the grunts slammed Nathan on the ground. "Just because you're back in action Lysandre, doesn't mean I won't beat you again!" Nathan grunted. "Now is that any way to treat the man you idolized?" Lysandre replied, smugly grabbing Nathan by his face. "But don't worry, I'm not gonna kill you, as much as I wish to do for the man who ruined my plans, disbanding my army and forcing me to live off the land, feeding on every wild fletchling and skiddo I ENCOUNTERED!" Lysandre then took a deep breath before continuing. "I however wish to learn one. Little. Thing." Lysandre then moved to the neck and raised his foe high. "How the actual F*(K did that angel die?" "Like I'd ever tell you!" Nathan gagged as he was being strangled. "You're pushing your luck, you know that?" Lysandre said emotionlessly. "I rather be a corpse than tell you anything!" Nathan grunted once more before spitting in Lysandre's face before throwing him aside. "Well, I guess I'll get my wish after all!" He said calmly. "Xeosect! If you please!" The mad scientist then pulled out a small saw blade and lowered it to Nathan's face. "Make sure it's slow and painful enough, I want to revel in his screams…."
But just before it could come to that…
BAM!
The door across from them burst open and on the other side was none other than Charlie, who had her eyes inverted and horns showing. "Nathan!" She yelled as she threw the grunts aside. "Are you okay?" "A bit bruised but at least I don't have a saw tearing my face off!" Nathan said as Charlie got him back on his feet before she glared at the Team Flare boss in front of them. "Well well, you must be princess Charlotte Morningstar!" Lysandre said as he approached the aforementioned princess. "It's good to meet you properly, to an extent!" "Don't call me by that name." She growled. "But why not? You are royalty after all!" Lysandre questioned. "It just… feels wrong to me…." Charlie answered, looking away. "But you must be Lysandre. Nathan told me about you!" "Oh really like what?" That you're an extremist psychopath and a genocidal terrorist!" Lysandre then laughed. "You really told her all that?" He said, turning to his nemesis. "Well it's true! Do I need to recap your crimes?" Nathan argued. "Now no need to recount my sins, I only did what was necessary to keep the world truly beautiful!" "Your means of doing it was basically a human extermination!" Charlie argued, catching Lysandre's attention.
"No need to shout, my dear! Especially since you're the most beautiful being I've ever encountered in my time here!" Lysandre said as he snapped his fingers and several grunts grabbed them by the arms. "What the hell does that mean?" Charlie growled. "When I first arrived here, I saw this place and your 'people' as nothing but disgusting savages!" Lysandre began. "But when I first saw you, you somehow seemed perfect! A beautiful being who's unfortunate life exists with these crude and ugly abominations!" "But what about the technological miracles you made?" Charlie questioned. "I tried and tried over and over again but it was never enough! I couldn't keep Kalos from becoming ugly." Lysandre answered. "It was essentially a mad, rabid Pokémon, and there's only one way to deal with those." Lysandre then turned around with his hands behind his back. "Unfortunately the same can be said for hell, the only difference is that hell's in its advanced stages."
Nathan then stepped on one of the grunts' feet and allowed him to escape with his demon friend doing the same. "Hmm, I wasn't aware that I was boring you with my ideologies…." Lysandre said emotionlessly. "But I know what you want, you deserve to battle me don't you?" Nathan then pulled out a dusk ball. "Well if you want to fight me… you'll have to catch me first!" Lysandre then pressed a button hidden in his coat pocket, causing an elevator to open up and him and Xeosect to step inside. Nathan then rushed to the elevator but was too late as it closed.
"Quick! We need to find out where they're going!" The two then checked out the computer as they checked out where their enemies were headed to. "No no no…"
Nathan continued to look through the cameras before seeing their enemies heading to the lower floors. They immediately rushed downstairs, battling multiple grunts guarding the way.
Once they were on the ground floor, Lysandre and his admin exited the elevator before getting a call from his business partner. "What do you want, Adam?" He groaned. "I'm in our base in hell, where the f*(k else would I be? Yes hell, stop acting like a whiny baby! No, I'm not going to pick you up some lunch, I'm not your mother!" As this was happening, the trainer and the princess managed to get down to where the villains were and readied themselves. "I'll call you back…." Lysandre then hung up. "I see you were able to make it all the way here." He said as he put his phone away. "We won't let you get away with your plans, Lysandre!" Nathan yelled. "And you're just as persistent as ever but since you have decided to mess with my plans, I'm afraid you have to disappear!"
"Charlie, you take Xeosect, I'll handle Lysandre." Nathan said as he marched forward to his enemy. "Ah, how I've waited so long to battle you again…." Lysandre laughed as he and Nathan pulled out their pokeballs. "Let's see how much prowis you've gained!"
Lysandre started with his first Pokémon, his Mienshao, a bipedal silver ferret Pokémon with purple accents, long fur on the arms that covered the hands and long whiskers that resembled a mustache. "Mienshao!" Mienshao then pulled off a kung-fu pose while Nathan sent out Echo. "Mienshao, use, swords dance!" The Mienshao then performed a powerful dance that increased its attack. "Echo! Dragon pulse!" Echo then blasted the opponent that managed to damage it quite a bit. "Mienshao! Use, rock slide!" Mienshao then summoned an avalanche of boulders onto his opponent. "What the!?" "Did you really think that I didn't learn from my mistakes?" Lysandre laughed. "I'm not an idiot!" "So do I! Echo! Use Fly!" The Noivern flew as far as she could. "Mienshao! Protect!" Mienshao protected himself with an energy barrier, just as the opponent landed back down. "Echo! Use, flamethrower!" With a bright blast of fire, the Mienshao was burned. "Another rock slide, Mienshao!" Dodge and use, fly!" The Noivern managed to fly into the sky and this time defeated the opponent.
Lysandre swapped his Pokémon with a new one, the evolution of murkrow, honchkrow, a large black bird Pokémon with black and red feathers, a fedora hat-like formation on its head and a large white turf running down its chest. "Honchkrow!" Nathan swapped out his Noivern for Titanasur. "Titanasur! Use Stone Edge!" "Dodge and use your Steel Wing!" The honchkrow dodged the stones and struck his opponent with sharp, ironized wings. "Don't give up, another stone edge attack!" Titanasur then struck the honchkrow but was able to withstand it, revealing the focus sash it had. "Now tear him a new one with foul play!" The honchkrow then managed to strike the opponent down, this time defeating him. "Return Titanasur!" Nathan said. "You did great out there, you're up next Night tide!" Sending out his Greninja it immediately struck with an ice beam, defeating the honchkrow.
"Glad you could choose this one, because here comes pyroar!" Lysandre then sent out his signature Pokémon, a male pyroar, a lion Pokémon with a large red and yellow mane. "Pyroar, Wild charge!" "Pardon?" The pyroar then struck the opponent with its electrified mane, Damaging not just the Greninja but itself in the process. "You taught that thing, wild charge?!" "And Solar beam!" The pyroar then began to power himself up with the energy gathered from the heat in the base (I know solar beam, requires well THE SUN but they're underground so it wouldn't make much sense.) "I don't think so! Use Surf!" The greninja then unleashed a wave of water onto the Pyroar, damaging it greatly. "Now water shuriken!" The Greninja then finished off pyroar with a series of shurikens. "Hmm, it appears that it's time for the heavy artillery…." Lysandre said as he retracted his pyroar.
Soon Lysandre's 'Heavy Artillery' came in the form of his last Pokémon, his Gyarados, a large sea serpent Pokémon with several fins jutting out of it, a small chain around its neck with a mega stone attached to it and a look of pure hatred on its face. Nathan and his Greninja stepped back thanks to the gyarados' intimidating presence. "GYARADOS! Use, hyper beam!" The gyarados then generated a massive blast of energy that decimated Night Tide. "Now as you were saying?" Nathan then retracted his fallen ally and sent out his Gardivoir. "Kineticx! Zap em with a thunderbolt!" Keniticx managed to electrocute the gyarados and thanks to its hyper beam, it needed to recharge.
"But wait! There's more!" Lysandre laughed as he took out a full restore and healed up the gyarados. "Get ready for anything Kineticx!" Nathan said as his Gardivoir readied himself for combat. Lysandre smirked as he wielded a ring with a keystone of his finger. "Gyarados! MEGA EVOLVE!" Activating the mega stone and keystone, the gyarados took on a new and dangerous form, one with extremely large fins, larger body and darker colors. "Two can play that game! Kineticx! Mega evolve!" Nathan then activated his mega ring and allowed his Gardivoir to take on his mega evolved form. "Use iron head, gyarados!" The gyarados then ironized his head and rammed into his opponent. "Counter with, energy ball!" The Gardivoir then generated a powerful natural orb that damaged the gyarados greatly. "You little p!(k! Decimate them with another hyper beam!" "Dodge and use dazzling gleam!" Kineticx narrowly dodged the gigantic laser before striking the gyarados with a dazzling gleam attack, which damaged him greatly thanks to the added dark typing he gained upon mega evolving. "Don't act like a little b!(h gyarados! Use Aqua tail!" The gyarados then struck the opponent with an aquatically enhanced tail. "Let's end this, Kineticx! Use one more thunderbolt!" The Gardevoir generated as much electricity as he could before striking down the gyarados on the spot.
"Yeah! That's what I'm talking about Kineticx!" Nathan chreered as Kineticx devolved back to his normal self and fell to the ground exhausted. "Yeah, that's definitely a sign you should come back in." He then returned his Pokémon back to his ball and put it away. "Well, it looks like history is repeating itself, Lysandre! Cuz I WHOOPED YOUR BUTT AGAIN!" The Team Flare boss responded with a cold growl. "What about you Charlie?" Nathan then turned around to see a defeated Xeosect and Charlie standing proudly. "Are you f*(king serious?!" Lysandre yelled as he withdrew his gyarados. "How did you lose to this pg-13 princess!?" "She has two very strong dragon types, sir!" Dr Xeosect pleaded. "I don't give a flying f*(k if she has one or more dragons, that doesn't give you any excuse for your embarrassment!" Lysandre yelled. "Still though your plan ends here, Lysandre!" Nathan yelled. "We beat you, and saved hell from your wrath!"
Lysandre then started to chuckle, and that chuckle turned into a laugh that left Nathan confused and worried. "You actually think you and the princess are heroes of this anarchic society?" He questioned as he stopped laughing. "Even after what you did!?" "What's he talking about?" Charlie asked suspiciously, leaving her friend worried. "Oh? He didn't tell you?" Lysandre asked sarcastically. "Well, perhaps this will explain everything!" Soon Lysandre pulled out a holo caster of his own and showed… a very inappropriate picture of a Gardivoir. "Eww that's just nasty!" Nathan gagged. "What the f*(k!?" Lysandre then turned the photo away. "None of us were supposed to see that, I am seriously having a talk with my grunts after this…." He stated, continuing to scroll through the photos before finding the one he was looking for. "Now, THIS will explain everything!" He then showed something that shocked both Nathan and Charlie, it was a video of him threatening Valentino and using Yveltal to torture the other Vees. "Nathan…?" Charlie gasped as Nathan turned around in fear. "Charlie, it's not what it looks like I swear!" He answered, trying to reassure his friend. "I don't even know where he even got that!" "Easy, I have eyes everywhere!" Lysandre answered. "And it would seem that someone's been going behind their friend's back… tell me Nathan, do you really believe in this woman's sweet little dreams?"
"I… well…." Nathan began to sweat immensely. "Or did you just need a place to stay so you wouldn't risk dying on the streets?" Lysandre questioned, Nathan turned to Charlie who looked at him with distrust. "Nathan, you said you'd be honest with me. So be honest!" Nathan was at an impasse and had no choice but to confess. "I… didn't fully believe in your dreams, Charlie…."
Those words left Charlie in utter shock. "But… you…" Charlie then remembered all the stuff Nathan had done, but he never really contributed to any exercises or acts in the past, he was just mostly there to keep the hotel from falling apart, or rather, his place to crash rent free. "And I guess… Adam was… half right?" "What…? WHAT!?" Charlie's demonic form started to show. "Now don't get me wrong, I'm not taking his side or anything, it's just…." Nathan took a deep breath. "You said that your dream was that any soul can be redeemed, but I don't think that EVERY soul is redeemable, I mean you saw what Val did to Angel, the guy's a ruthless sociopath!" "Sure but that doesn't mean every soul here is irredeemable!" Charlie argued. "I never said that every soul here can't be redeemed, just that there are a lot of terrible people here who are here for a reason! Thieves, murderers, corporate executives, corrupt politicians! I mean look at Alastor, the guy's only at your hotel just so he could laugh at their expense!" "I know they're some who aren't fully capable of redemption but I'm sure I'll help them get up on the right track!" "Well that I know but while your heart's in the right place, I'm not sure you fully know what you're doing! Trust exercises? Show and Tell? This morning you even had the guests do jump rope! These are guys who committed sins, not a preschool class!" "I just wanted TO FEEL USEFUL FOR ONCE!" Charlie roared, causing Nathan to fall onto the floor in fear.
Charlie then reverted to her normal form and shedded tears. "Well, it appears that you are having serious issues here, so I'll let you take your leave." Lysandre said calmly as the elevator opened and the princess stood inside. "You knew about our relationship didn't you?" Nathan asked emotionlessly, as he got up and walked towards the elevator. "Like I said, child, I have ears everywhere…." Lysandre answered. "You may have defeated me in a Pokémon battle, but in the end, I'm the one who won this battle…." Lysandre smiled wickedly as Nathan stepped into the elevator as it closed and ascended to the exit.
"Sir, we had him right where we wanted him! Why did you let them go!?" Dr Xeosect questioned. "Simple really, by torpedoing their friendship, Nathan would be cast out! And left all alone." Lysandre answered. "Allowing him to be exterminated by Adam's army!" Xeosect realized. "I have to say that is quite brilliant!" "Indeed, now let's get back to heaven, and prepare a seminar on using our equipment…." Lysandre said as he shook from that horrific image from earlier.
Once they were outside, the two were on their way back to the hotel. Nathan tried to say anything, but in the end he thought it was best just to keep quiet, while Charlie was looking away from him with tears rolling down her cheeks.
Once they arrived at the door, Charlie opened it and simply walked to the bar and slammed half her body down. "I need a drink…." Those words made husk spit out his glass, and catch everyone else's attention. "Excuse me?" Husk asked, startled. "Did I stutter!?" Charlie growled, slamming her fist on the table. "I. Need. A. Drink!" "Ok geez, since when do you pick up a bottle?" Husk asked as he poured in a glass. "Since I found out that all this time I've been living with a selfish liar, that's when!" Charlie yelled as she snatched the bottle and gulped it down.
Alastor sensed that something was definitely up and that it might work in his favor, so he warped his way to the bar. "What's got you in a twist?" He asked as Charlie grabbed another bottle and gushed it down her throat. "I fell into a depression that's what." "Oh!" "What do you mean 'oh'?" "'Oh' As in that's a shock, the only time I can recoint you being sad was after you and Nathan watched that deerling…" Just before the radio demon could finish his sentence Charlie chucked a bottle at him, causing him to turn his head to the side to dodge the oncoming object as it smashed into the wall. "Don't you DARE mention his name!" Charlie growled. "I take it you two went into some trouble?" Alastor asked. "You don't know the half of it, now thanks to him, I feel like I'm dying on the inside." "What did he do? Make you accept you're a failure?" Charlie paid no attention to him as she saw Nathan stepping in and sitting on the couch in shame, all the while glaring at him. "Charlie?" The princess snapped out of her trance and turned to the demon next to her. "Huh? We're jumping off a cliff?" She asked, startling the demon quite a bit. "Oh dear, you really are going though it aren't you?"
Nathan looked at her former friend for a second before jerking his head away. "Jeesssz what happened out there?" Sir Pentious asked, concerned. "Yeah, I've never seen her this upset before!" Vaggie added, also concerned. Before Nathan could speak he was cut off by the princess. "YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!?" She yelled as Nathan covered his face in shame. "I'LL TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED! TURNS OUT, NATHAN HERE WAS JUST HELPING WITH US, JUST SO HE COULD BE F*(KING FREELOADING S#!T STAIN!" "Is that true?" Vaggie asked as she turned to Nathan. "Look I was desperate and I would've probably died out there, what was I supposed to do!?" He yelled. "Well for starters you could have AT LEAST TOLD US ABOUT IT! AND NOT ONLY THAT! APPARENTLY HE THINKS MY DREAMS AREN'T WORTH MY TIME, BECAUSE APPARENTLY EVERYONE HERE IS MEANT TO BE HERE!" Charlie then grabbed yet another bottle and chugged it down before throwing it on the floor. "What the f*(k!?" "I didn't say that they're not 100% worthless, just that everyone's not cut out for redemption- no that's worse!" Charlie then got up from the bar and stormed off.
Nathan immediately got up and followed as the others were left in shock.
Once he reached Charlie's room, he knocked on the door before it opened slightly, where inside was Charlie, balling her eyes out with her lampent and Druddigon comforting her. "Charlie, I'm…" She raised her hand to hush him before lowering it back down. "You know… when we first met in the alley, when I found out that you were the very first human to enter hell… I thought you'd be different." "Different…?" "Hell rejected me, heaven rejected me, even my own DAD rejected me… I thought that maybe, just maybe, that you'd actually see what I'm trying to do here isn't complete bulls#!t…." Charlie then stood up. "But no! Apparently no matter how much I try, no matter how much I wish to help others, I'll ALWAYS be seen as a failure…." Charlie then slammed her fist into the wall, causing a picture of both her and Nathan to fall off and crack down the middle. "Charlie you're not a failure, I know you can at least…" "Just… just go…." Nathan inched closer. "Charlie I…" "I said…" The princess then turned around as her demonic form flared outward. "LEAVE!" Nathan immediately took that as a sign and walked away, leaving Charlie alone as she fell to her knees in despair.
Nathan then packed up his stuff and walked out of his room, and went downstairs. "Where are you goin'?" Angel asked. "I'm… going to stay somewhere else for a while." Nathan said sadly. "I'm not sure if I can be around you anymore after what happened…." Nathan then went out the door but turned around for one last time. "I'm sorry everyone… take care of yourselves and your Pokémon…." Nathan then left the hotel, turning to the building for one last time before leaving….
