The Turtles were currently looking through an alleyway, searching for Mutagen canisters while Donnie was looking at his Mutagen tracker but his mind was on other things.
Tali knew what he was thinking about, "Thinking about April again, Donnie?" Tal asked the smart male turtle, having been given the full details of what happened with their human friend and her father who got turned into a mutant bat.
"Yeah. We haven't seen her since the Mutagen Spill, or Mr. O'Neil for that matter," Donnie sighed while looking down, "It's our fault April lost her dad, again," He sighed.
"Donnie, it's not like you did it on purpose," Tal said while walking up to him, "I'm sure April knows that, she was probably just speaking out of hurt. She just needs some space,"
"Yeah, but will April ever forgive us?" Donnie asked in sadness. "She doesn't even call or visit anymore. And she's been avoiding us ever since."
"I'm sure she will, and don't worry we'll find a way to help her father, I promise" Tal assured him while holding his shoulder.
Donnie smiled back as Tal blushed and looked away while toying with her bandanas, "Yeah, Donnie. Don't get so bent out of shape about April." Raph said to him. "She'll come around."
Donnie looked at his tracker. "Yeah, I guess you guys are right." He said as he followed the trail while the others kept searching the alley.
"Are we sure it's even here, Donnie?" Olly asked in wonder. "Because this place is just a normal grossed-out alley to me."
"That's what my tracker is for. It should be here." Donnie said as the trashcan rumbled and Ames and Mikey came out.
"Well, we didn't find any mutagen in here." Ames informed as she hopped out.
"But you guys will not believe what we found!" Mikey cheered as he brought out a stuffed iguana with a top hat and a monocle. "An iguana wearing a top hat! Isn't that cool?" He asked them. "I mean, why would you throw this out?" He asked as he started moving it. "'Ello, gov'nah! How do you like my monocle?'"
"Monocle." Donnie and Tali corrected him.
"Whatever." Mikey said as Jenny walked up to him.
"Mikey, you do know that could be a distant cousin of ours, right?" Jenny questioned while pointing at the iguana. "And he's also stuffed with sawdust."
"Eugh! Sick!" Mikey cried as he tossed the iguana away and wiped his hand with his shell.
"Quiet guys," Donnie said as he scanner started beeping again, "My Ooze Scanner is going crazy! I told you Mutagen was close by,"
"Ah, your scanner's about as useless as a trench coat on a turtle." Raph retorted.
"Give him a chance, Raph." Vee said with a firm look.
"Vee's right, Raph. It's our fault those containers went missing." Leo said in agreement. "We gotta find them before some random Joe ends up mutated."
"Or at least before we're up to our shells in mutants," Olly added.
Donnie then raised his scanner high before it started beeping fast. "This way!" He called as they all started climbing onto the rooftop as Ames rushed up to a mutagen canister and picked it up.
"Found it! How many does that bring us up to?" Ames asked as the others came up to her.
"One." Donnie answered.
"And a half." Tal finished as the turtles groaned from this.
"But look on the bright side. Only 63 more to go!" Donnie said optimistically.
"There's that many canisters spread across the city?" Naomi asked in surprise before sighing, "Well, I suppose we had better continue our search," She said as they all nodded.
What they didn't know, Karai was watching on another rooftop far from them, and she was shocked by what they saw. "There are Ten turtles nows? Huh, looks like they're some girls this time." She said before giving a smirk. "Nice to know I'm not the only girl in town now," She commented before seeing Ames playing with the canister before Naomi grabbed it. "So, they're hunting for father's missing mutagen supply, this makes the game all the more interesting," She said before slashing a ventilation duct next to her.
On the rooftop, the turtles are searching around a block near a billboard as Mikey yawns and holds onto the ladder. "We've been looking for mutagen for days now, dudes. This is so boring. I'm gonna scream!" He leaned on the ladder with one leg as he started screaming loudly as the others circled around them.
"Mikey!" They all yelled before Jenny came up to him and slapped him across the face hard, which got him to shut up.
"Are you, TRYING, to expose us to the city?!" She exclaimed.
"What? I'm bored. I need to do something!" Mikey called in defense before Jenny grabbed his leg and flipped him down to the ground as he gave a yell.
Raph came to Jenny with a smirk, "Nice job, Jenny. You save me the trouble of doing it myself," He said as he and Jenny shared a fist bump.
"I get enough of that with Ames. She's more of a complainer to Mikey." Jenny said with a smirk.
"Hey!" Ames called an insult.
"Okay, gang. We'll take a break and do something fun. Cool?" Leo asked as the others cheered. "Training session! Yes!" He called, which made the others, except for Venus, Naomi, and Olly, groaned in disappointment.
"Alright!" Venus called as the others were surprised by her expression. "Been waiting for some city training all day!"
"We're ninjas guys, we have to learn how to adapt to any environment." Olly reminded them.
"And Sensei wants me to train you, and that's what I'm gonna do." Leo said before he looked around and saw something of interest. "You see Dragon Gate over there?" He asked as the others nodded. "I'm gonna defend it, like King of the Mountain, Naomi you'll watch from the gate and observe, cool?" He instructed.
"Alright, Leonardo, what are the terms of combat?" Naomi questioned.
"You'll go in pairs and the only way you can get past me is to use traditional close-quarters fighting. Got it?" Leo instructed them.
"Whatever you say, fearless leader." Raph said as he cracked his knuckles. "Let's just get it over with." He said as they all jumped off to the Dragon Gate as the girls followed but Raph stopped his brothers. "Guys, I got an idea." He said as he whispered his idea.
At the Dragon Gate, Leo placed one Katana down in front of Naomi as she nodded and sat in a meditative stance. Leo then turned to the others, standing on one of Lantern lines as Olly and Vee stepped forward first, "Alright, let's see what you got," Olly said as he charged at Leo and they clashed weapons.
Leo blocked Olly's axe with his Katana, "Nice moves, your father taught you well," Leo complimented.
"Yours too," Olly said as he pushed against Leo's swords, "But mine also taught me how to compliment my Sisters' skills, now Vee!"
Leo looked up and saw Vee jump up and throw her Tessan fans at him as he leapt back and deflected them with his katanas while Olly used this as a distraction to make it to the Dragongate.
Vee landed online, catching her disks before rushing at Leo, looking ready to defend against her attack, but she surprised him by jumping over him and giving a wink to him before landing next to Olly, "Oh yeah, baby!" Vee declared.
"You like that?" Olly said with a grin.
Leo gave a bemused scoff, "Ha, pretty good," he said as he turned to the other turtles, "Think you guys can do better?"
Mikey and Ames were the first ones to jump ahead as Ames ready her weapon while Mikey brought out his headphones and listens to some music. "What's up, ninja!" He called as he started dancing, which made Ames and the rest of the girls look on in confusion.
"What are you doing, Mikey?" Leo questioned.
Mikey gave a raspberry as he did a break dance as Ames got curious and shrugged as she followed along as Leo swiped his sword around, but Ames and Mikey dodged and punched him back. "Hey, this is kinda fun." Ames said with a smile.
"Real funny." Leo said with a brow. "Come on!" He called as he charged at them again, but Mikey and Ames flipped and jumped on the line as they made it to the Dragon Gate.
"Made it! Ha!" Mikey cheered.
"Okay, that was awesome." Ames said with a giggle.
"That's not fair! That was not a real fight." Leo pointed out.
Naomi looked surprised but simply shrugged, "Unorthodox but still, rather effective," She said before looking to Donnie and Tali, "Donatello, Taliena, you two are next,"
Donnie and Tali nodded as they walked up on the line as Leo gave a small smile. "Okay." He said as he got into a ready stance.
"How many arrows can you fire under one minute?" Donnie asked Tali with a smirk.
"Watch me." Tal said as she brought out her bow and arrow while Donnie ready his throwing star as they calculated the angels around Leo before shooting arrows while throwing ninja stars at all angels, as they rebounded and launched at Leo from all sides.
"Ow! Seriously, you two!?" Leo asked as he blocked the stars and arrows as fast as he could before they stopped as he took a breather.
"Ow! King of the mountain, baby!" Donnie cheered as Leo turned and saw him and Tal on the Dragon Gate.
"Call that Distraction Action, Leo!" Tal exclaimed with a smirk as they high-three Ames and Mikey.
"Oh yeah!/That's my Ninja!" Ames and Mikey cheered.
Olly and Vee blinked and looked to each other, "Not very traditional but, pretty smart," Olly commented.
"You expected anything less?" Vee asked her brother.
Leo groaned as he turned to Raph and Jenny. "So what's your trick gonna be?" He questioned.
"Tricks? What are you guys Taliking about?" Raph lied before he threw his sai at Leo, which he quickly blocked.
"Hey! Ninjas never throw their weapons!" Leo retorted as Jenny rushed at him and knocked him down to the ground as Leo groaned and his sword came down, which now had some writing that said 'Lame-O-Nardo' on the blade as the others jumped down the Dragon Gate as his brothers cheered while Leo got up and glare at them. "Why do you guys always undermine my training?!" He yelled, which surprised the girls while his brother just looked at him.
"You just want us to fight exactly like you fight." Raph retorted. "But the whole point is to make it to the Dragon Gate any way we can. Right?" He questioned as he walked off with his brothers.
Naomi gave a disappointed look before she jumped in front of three, "And where do you three think you are going?"
"We're going back to the lair. We had enough searching for mutagens for the night." Donnie said as they walked off. "You girls coming?"
"Sure thing." Jenny said as she, Ames, and Tal followed while Naomi, Olly, and Venus stayed behind and turned to Leo who looked at his sword sadly at the insulted name on the blade.
"I get where the others are coming from, wanting to fight the way they want to," Olly said while crossing his arms, "But vandalizing his weapon was uncalled for," He added.
"Clearly they all need some lessons in communication," Naomi said in disappointment.
Vee looked at Leo in sympathy before she walked up to him and picked up her sword, "Don't let them get to you, Leo," She said while cleaning off her katana. "They were just messing with you. All brothers do." She added while handing him his sword.
"Yeah, but they never listen to my orders, I mean I get it from Raph, but from him, Mikey and Donnie," Leo said sadly as he accepted his sword back. "Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a leader,"
Vee eyes widen in shock. "Leo. Don't think like that, you are a leader."
"Well, I don't feel like a leader right now," Leo said dejectedly.
"Leo," Olly said as he stepped forward to him. "If there's one thing I learned, a true leader doesn't always impose his will, but helps his followers to flourish and grow."
Leo still looked dismissed, "Then maybe you should be leading the team," He said.
"Leonardo, how can your brothers be expected to believe in you when you doubt yourself?" Naomi asked the Blue masked turtle, which made Leo look down in thought.
At Bradford's dojo. Karai is looking at a torn photo that holds the picture of her mother, Tang Shen, as some foot soldiers appear behind her, drawing their weapons as she blocks their strikes with her sword and starts fighting them. But when it looked like she had beaten them they got up and their lens flashed red and attacked again, only this time they easily dodged and countered every one of Karai's attacks.
One of the soldiers was about to finish off Karai, but before they could a firm voice spoke up. "Enough!" He called as the Foot Soldiers stopped and let go of Karai as she turned and saw the Shredder coming in. "The Kraang swore that these new foot soldiers would be deadly. They were true to their word." He said with an impressed sneer.
"I thought they'd finish me off, but you wouldn't let them do that, right father?" Karai asked.
"I am leaving for Japan to take care of urgent business," Shredder told Karai as she was put off when he didn't answer her question, "You are not to make any moves against the turtles until I return,"
Karai's eyes widened, "But father, earlier tonight I saw-" She tried to tell him but Shredder extended his claws in a warning.
"Disobedience comes with a stiff penalty, child," He warned before walking past her.
"Even for you're own daughter?" Karai questioned.
"Especially for my daughter," Shredder answered and left the room as Karai narrowed.
In the Shellraiser, the Turtles are inside, but this time, Raph is driving while Leo sits in Raph's station while the girls hold onto the handles of the vehicle. "I gotta say Don, this Shellraiser is amazing! Nothing like rides back home," Tal said in amazement.
"Just one of the benefits of living here in New York," Donnie said with pride.
Then there is awkward silence with Leo after what happened at training. "Well, this is awkward." Ames commented.
"You're not mad at us for what happened at the Gates, are you, Leo?" Tal asked as Mikey then held up one of his comic books.
"I'll give you Mutant Plus Monsters 23 if you're not mad." Mikey said before Leo pushed the comic away.
"I'm not mad." Leo said to them. "I just think you guys need to be a little better at following my orders."
"Aww, it's too bad I can't play my violin while I drive," Raph said sarcastically.
"What's your problem lately, Raph?" Leo questioned. "You still jealous you're not leading the team?" He questioned before Donnie looked at his tracker.
"Stop the Shellraiser! Scanner's picked up another mutagen canister." Donnie said as Raph hit the brakes, which caused them all to fall down really hard.
"Raph!" Olly yelled with a glare. "You did that on purpose!" He shouted.
"Hey, we're here aren't we?" Raph questioned as they all exited the vehicle and stood in front of a building with an entrance underground.
We're close, guys. Signals coming from the basement." Donnie informed.
"Okay, let's not make any sudden moves before I give the-" Leo tried to say, but his brothers already moved in and opened the hatch to the basement. "Orders." He finished with a sigh.
"Don't ever stop and listen?" Naomi asked in wonder.
"I asked myself the same thing," Leo muttered as they followed after them.
In the basement, the turtles followed Donnie as Mikey then turned a corner and saw the mutagen in the middle of the room. "Oh, yeah! Found it! Go Ninja, go Ninja, go!" He cheered as he rushed up to the mutagen.
"Don't!" Both Leo and Olly yelled, but Mikey already pulled the mutagen, which was attached to a string as the group looked around and saw all the entrances shut.
"It's a trap!" Tali exclaimed.
"Of course, who would leave a mutagen in the middle of a basement in the first place?!" Jenny questioned in annoyance.
"See? If you would listen to me-" Leo tried to say.
"Easier than I thought." Karai's voice called as they all turned to her.
"Karai!" Leo exclaimed in surprise.
"You know her?" Vee asked Leo.
"Yeah, Shredder's little princess," Raph said, pulling out his sais.
"Long time, ey Leo?" Karai asked with a grin before looking at the six new turtles, "So, who are the new turtles? You spilled mutagen on some guy and his girls or something?" She mocked.
"Sorry that's on a need-to-know basis, and you don't need to know," Olly told her.
"Oh yeah, tell it to them," Karai said as they were surrounded by Foot Soldiers.
"Your ladyfriend's getting really good at setting ambushes, Leo!" Donnie exclaimed as they all drew their weapons.
Vee perked up at that, "Wait, Ladyfriend?" She asked while frowning at Leo as he smiled sheepishly.
"Uh, long story, tell you over some Pizza," Leo explained before turning to the Foot, "If we get out of this, that is,"
"Ha! They're just Foot Soldiers. Won't even break a sweat!" Raph boasted as they all charged at them, but their attacks didn't do much damage as the Soldiers just got back up and countered their moves.
"Um, I seem to remember humans were a lot more fragile," Tal said as her arrows broke against a Foot Solider's chest.
Mikey slapped his nunchuck against a Foot Solider's head but it bounced off it while making a beeping noise, "They'd armored up or something?" He asked in surprise.
Jenny then punched a soldier in the chest, but it did nothing before she reeled back and cringed in pain as she held her arm. "Ow, what is up with these jokers?! Talk about your rock-hard abs," She said while shaking her fist.
Donnie clashed with another soldier who ducked under his swing before kicking him in the chest, knocking him back, "Doof! It's their rock-hard kicks I'm worried about," He moaned while rubbing his chest.
Olly blocked the attacks of one soldier before swinging his axe around and slicing its head right off. Naturally, horrified, Olly backed away from the decapitated soldier but was more shocked to see the purple sparks coming off of it and the robotic works inside it, "What the-? They're robots?!" He said in shock.
"What?!" The turtles all yelled in shock before Tali knocked one back and did the same as well, seeing the circuits.
"Olly's right! These guys are robots!" Tali exclaimed in shock.
"Clever. Looks like these turtles are faster than you four." Karai taunted with a smirk.
"Well that sure explains the lack of weak spots," Raph commented.
Mikey threw a punch at one Footbot but it only ended with him hurting his fist, "Ow! And why my hand hurts when I punch 'em!" He said while nursing his hand.
The Turtles soon found themselves surrounded before Leo looked at the elevator shaft. "Everybody, fall back!" Leo ordered.
"What?! We're running away?!" Raph complained.
"It's not running, it's a tactical retreat. Move!" Leo ordered as he ran off.
"I don't care what Leo says. I don't run from the-" Raph was about to retort before Olly grabbed him by his plastron and brought him to his face.
"Raph! Will you just shut up, stuff your pride, and listen?! We won't win without our heads, We have to move! NOW!" Olly yelled with a firm serious glare.
"Indeed, a real warrior knows when to pick their battles, and this clearly a battle we cannot win, fall back now!" Naomi added as Olly let go of Raph before they and Leo ran off, leaving the other turtles behind in shock.
"Dude, you just got spanked," Mikey said in amusement to Raph.
"Olly's as strict as Master Splinter." Donnie commented.
"Well, you heard him, tactical retreat!" Vee said as she and the girls followed after the three while Donnie and Mikey ran after them.
Raph turned to Footbots, growling in frustration, "Raph, come on! We're out of here!" Jenny called.
Raph sighed and put away his Sais. "Another time." He muttered before he rushed off to the others as they started climbing the shaft as fast as they could before one of the Foot bots grabbed Ames's by the leg.
"Get off of me, you robotic bug-eyed creep!" Ames called as Leo and Vee looked down at her before nodding to each other before they jumped down and kicked the root off as it fell to the floor and was decapitated.
"Move your shells, guys! Go!" Vee called as they kept climbing as they just about made it out, but then Leo got his legs caught as he tried to reach out to them and Vee grabbed him, "I gotcha!" She strained while sleeping herself.
"Come on guys!" Raph said as he and Olly reached down to Vee but she and Leo were being pulled lower by the robots.
"Leo! Vee!" Olly called before the cable line snapped as Leo and Vee both screamed as they fell into the darkness.
After rushing back down to the basement, they saw no signs of Leo or Vee as Tali inspected the broken cable. "They're gone. She took 'em." Olly said to them grimly.
"And it's all my fault." Raph said in guilt.
Later on, they all regrouped at the lair while trying to think of a plan. "We didn't follow Leo's lead," Donnie said.
"Gee, ya think?" Jenny questioned with a brow. "I mean seriously, how would the mutagen end up in the basement of a building? Even I would've thought it was a trap." She stated.
"What's done is done. What we failed to do or who is to blame for this is not what is important right now," Naomi told them, "What is important is rescuing Leonardo and Venus,"
"Yeah, but how are we going to explain this to Master Splinter?" Mikey asked in worry.
"Explain what to me, Michelangelo?" Sprinter asked as they turned to him.
Olly bowed his head, "It's Leo and Vee, Master Splinter," He answered, "Karai, captured them,"
Sprinter gave a worried hum, "I knew it would come to this," He said.
The Turtles looked confused, "What do you mean, Sensei?" Tal asked.
"Karai wants to take revenge. She believes that I took her mother away from her." Splinter said to them with his head down.
The Turtles looked alarmed, "But it's not true, right?" Ames asked hopefully.
"Itt is very much… the opposite of what she thinks," Splinter answered vaguely.
"Meaning?" Jenny asked.
"I will tell you all in time." Spinter assured, "But first, find Leonardo and Venus De Milo. That's what is important right now."
"Rescue your brother and sister."
At Bradford's dojo, Leo and Vee sat in cages, suspended from the roof looking very annoyed while Karai looked at them tauntingly with a Kunai on her finger, "I bet I could make a small fortune if I sold you to science lab," Karai mused. "Could you imagine the press? 'Talking Ninja Turtles Found in Sewer.'" She said with a chuckle.
"Sweet," Leo said unamusedly. "Captured and now totally humiliated. Awesome day, Leo. Awesome day."
"This is not how I saw my first mission in New York: captured and reduced to a bird in a cage," Vee said dully.
Karai then looked to Leo, "You deserve everything you're getting, Leo," She said while pointing her Kunai at the darker blue turtle, "After you betrayed me the last time," She said.
"What is she talking about?" Vee asked in confusion.
"Basically, the last time Karai and I saw each other, it was when the first Kraang Stealth Ship attack, we made a deal so that Karai would give us a weapon to stop it, but we also tried to attack the Shredder, which didn't go as planned," Leo explained.
"And I'm getting some payback," Karai said as she snapped her fingers and the foot bots got into ready stances. "Don't you two just love it? My new robotic Footbots follow my orders to a T., No arguing, no prodding. They do whatever I want. Cool, right?"
"Yeah, convenient. Nice." Leo snarked.
"So you replaced your trained, dedicated soldiers who would give their lives to your clan for these cheap Kraang knockoffs?" Venus questioned with her eyes narrowed. "Where's the honor in that?"
Karai was caught off guard by the before she shook it off and glared at them, "I'd be more concerned about yourselves if I were you two," She told the female turtle as she tossed her Kunai on her hand, "I've been teaching the Footbots new skills. But now, I'm turning the training over to someone new or two." She said as she threw her kunai at Leo and Vee's cages, breaking the rope as the two fell.
"Whoa!" The two yelped as they crashed onto the floor.
"Footbots!" Karai started as she brought out Vee and Leo's weapons and tossed them to the two. "De-shell them." She said as the two turtles then quickly grabbed their weapons and defend against the footbots, dodging under their throwing stars and taking them out. But when they were struck by the turtles' moves their eyes flashed red and they perfectly countered them later.
"What's going on? How are they learning our moves so fast?!" Vee asked as she threw one of her disks at a Footbot.
"That's the best part," Karai said with a smirk. "You spend years learning a fighting style, but my robots can learn it in seconds. From you two. Fighting just improves their skills." She said as the robots charged at them as they then tackled them to the ground.
"Karai!" Leo called as he struggled to get up.
"Why are you doing this?!" Vee questioned.
Karai looked down at them. "I never got to know my mother, because Leo's rodent Master took her away from me!" She told them with venom.
"Splinter?" Leo asked as he got up and charged at her. "That's a lie!" He called before the robots grabbed him.
"Get them out of my sight," Karai ordered as she turned away from them.
"Karai, listen to me! Splinter would never hurt your mother!" Leo pleaded as he was dragged away while Vee was still pinned.
Back at the Lair, the turtles were gathered in Donnie's lab as he searched through the security cameras of the city. "Okay, so I hacked into some security footage. There! It's Karai's van!" He called as they showed a van turning a corner.
"They took Leo and Vee to the Bradford Dojo," Mikey said, knowing the direction the van went to.
"Let's go, team," Olly said determinedly.
"Wait, so you're leader now?" Raph asked with a brow.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up. I'm the smartest, so-" Donnie tried to say.
"Guys, let's not argue about this!" Olly yelled firmly. "Leo and Vee need us! If we're going to do this, I need you to follow my orders and do exactly as I say, got it?" He questioned.
They all looked at each other before they nodded.
Not long after, the turtles were running across the rooftop before they stopped right beside the window. "We can't sneak in. Security camera." Tali informed while seeing a security camera next to the window.
"We need a diversion, Raph?" Olly asked the red-masked turtle.
"No sweat. I got this." Raph nodded as he reached into his belt and took out a pigeon.
"Uh, it's not just one, Raph," Donnie said. "The entire roof is bracketed by surveillance." He informed as Raph petted the bird, who purred as the bird flew to the window and chirped as more pigeons flew in and blocked the cameras.
"Impressive," Naomi commented.
"Didn't know you were a pigeon whisper, Raph," Jenny said with an amusing smile.
"I'll show it to you sometime," Raph told her.
"Okay, team, let's move," Olly said as he opened the window and they all snuck in as they ran on the ceiling before they stopped and looked down at Leo and Venus tied together with their mouths duck-taped while Footbots guarding them. "There they are." He whispered.
Leo and Vee looked up when they saw the shadows before they saw their friends. They shook their heads frantically and mumbled through the tape to warn them, but they couldn't get the words out as the turtles jumped down and took out the Footbots while Leo and Vee kept muttering.
"Leo, Vee, We can't understand you?" Tali said as she and Donnie ungagged them.
"It's a trap!" Leo and Vee yelled, just then, more Footbots appeared in front of them as Karai appeared behind them.
"Nice, guys! You could have said something!" Mikey retorted before Jenny bonked his head. "Ow!"
"They were ducked tape, you idiot!" Jenny scolded.
Karai gave a smirk at them as the group turned to her. "You got two choices, sweetheart. Let us go, or walk away from this inside a sandwich bag!" Raph warned as Olly cut Vee and Leo free from the ropes.
"Sorry, Raphael. Can't let you go." Karai said as she walked around. "It's not really that personal with the rest of your turtles. I just need you for bait." She said as she sat down.
"She wants Splinter," Leo answered.
"Your Sensei will eventually track you here," Karai said while looking at her nails. "And when he shows up, Splinter will know what it's like to truly suffer." She said with a glare. "Restrain them!" She ordered as the Footbots moved in on them.
They started fighting the Footbots as. "Let's smash some robots!" Raph called while twirling his sais.
"They're only a thousand times better at fighting than regular Foot!" Donnie added before his staff blocked a strike as he dodged a few hits before he was knocked down while the others are having similar issues.
"My Footbots know every move," Karai said to them as she enjoyed the show. "Every skill. Every attack." She said as Donnie, Raph, and Mikey were knocked to the wall.
"Sheesh! We're getting nailed here!" Ames complained.
"If I ordered you to run away, will you guys listen this time?" Leo asked them.
"Heck, yeah! And we can still call it a tactical retreat if you want." Mikey added with a smile before dodging a dagger.
"Turtles, fall back!" Vee yelled as they all started climbing through the ceiling.
"Footbots! Don't let them escape!" Karai ordered as the Footbots nodded.
The turtles are all ran across the rooftops with the Footbots on their tail. "All our moves are worthless against those things!" Tal exclaimed.
"They know every move Leo and I can make!" Vee exclaimed. "Every fighting style, skill, every-"
"Wait, Vee, that's it!" Leo said as he kept going before he remembered what his brothers and the girls did at the Dragon Gate. "Remember King of the Mountain?" He asked them.
"Yeah, sure." Raph and Jenny nodded.
"What about it?" Tali asked.
"Leonardo, I don't believe now is a good time for games!" Naomi told him.
"No, because I figured out how to beat them," Leo said as they ran into a playground before he made weird noises and tossed one of his swords up and threw the other at the bot before catching his sword, making the others realize what Leo was thinking.
"Oh, these Robots are meant to copy traditional ninja moves, but aren't designed for more weird ones," Tal said in realization.
"So in other words, be unpredictable!" Donnie called as they looked around the area and did the math in their heads. "Do our thing!"
"And we'll take them out in one go!" Tali called as she drew her bow and arrows and fired them in each corner while Donnie did the same with his throwing stars and daggers as they took out all their Footbots, "Haha, yeah! Bet ya didn't see that coming!" She laughed.
Ames and Mikey then used the playground surroundings as they called and knocked the bots down while Jenny and Raph charged straight on them, clothes-lining them and using their weapons to stab the bots before they saw Olly, Naomi, Vee, and Leo fighting them on the rooftops before they charged up and tossed two bots away.
"I never had so much fun following your orders, Leo!" Raph complimented.
"We're even! I've never had so much fun giving them!" Leo commented before more daggers were thrown below them as they saw more Footbots climbing up before Olly, Jenny, and Raph jumped down and attacked them.
"Uh, Leo?" Vee called, "Income Ninja Girl!" She pointed behind him. Leo turned to see Karai yelling as he avoided her blade before Vee then came in and kicked her in the back, as she flipped back on her feet.
"Lucky kick!" Karai sneered.
"Luck's got nothing to do with it, sister," Vee told the Kunoichi, "You guys handle the bots! This one is mine!" Vee told her while holding her chakrams up.
"All yours," Leo said before turning back to the fight.
Karai held up her Tantoblade, "You shouldn't have gotten involved in this," She told the girl turtle, "This is between me and Leo's master!"
"When it comes to turtles like us, we watch either other shells," Vee said with a glare. "Besides, your vendetta clouds your judgment, princess." She said as she clashed her disks with Karai's Tantoblade as they clashed on the rooftops.
"Well, you might as well give up now!" Karai yelled. "The more you and your friends fight those Footbots, the more they adapt!"
"That's the problem, Karai," Vee said with a look. "There's no honor in copying others. But there's one flaw your robots have. They might know our moves, but you don't know mine!" She called as she threw one of her tessens at Karai, which she blocked with her sword.
"Fool! A ninja never throws away their weapon!" Karai yelled.
"That's the point!" Vee yelled as she charged at Karai while she was distracted and clashed weapons with her as she pushed her back near the edge as they fought on the Dragon Gate. "It's called Adapting! When a Ninja realizes that tactics method of fighting doesn't work, try something your opponent's never seen," She called as she kept clashing weapons.
Karai got into a blade block as she glared. "You think you've won?" She questioned as she slashed her sword before bringing out some claw blades on her hand on Vee's fan as she tripped and fell into the edge as she was about to climb back up. "Fall!" She yelled as she threw throwing stars, which caused Venus to let go as Karai looked down.
Venus held onto the edge corner of the Dragon Gate, out of Karai's field of vision before she came up from behind it, "Booyakasha!" She yelled as she swiped her disks, hitting Karai as she quickly caught the line but she fell to the ground as Venus landed over her and held her weapons at Karai's throat to keep her pin.
"Whatever Shredder told you is a lie! I may not have known Splinter as long as Leo has, but I know that he would never harm a defenseless woman," Vee told Karai firmly, who stood quiet as Vee retracted her weapons and backed away. "You're grudge may be with Leo, but now it's with me too. Stay away from my friends, my sisters, my brother, and their Sensei. Understood?" She questioned as Karai stood quiet, which was the answer she needed as she then went up to the rooftop. "Believe me, Karai. Believe Leo." She said as she climbed back up to the roof while Karai watched her go.
The rest of the Turtle soon regrouped with Vee, "Um, Vee? The Footbots have learned our moves!" Donnie said in worry.
"Our craziness has become normalness!" Ames called as she twirled her whips like silly, "I hate it when that happens,"
"Wanna call it Leo?" Olly asked the blue-masked turtle
"Yeah, Team fall back!" Leo ordered as they ran up the lines before Leo cut them as they ran further down the roof before they threw a smoke bomb and disappeared.
Back in the lair, the turtles are playing a Space Hero pinball machine as Mikey moves the ball to get the scores. "Watch me now!" He called as he kept hitting some scores before the ball fell. "See that? New high score, dudes!" He cheered.
"Pizza's here!" Raph declared as he brought in a pizza box and opened it.
Olly and the girl turtles looked confused, "Pizza?" Jenny repeated.
"I think it's, food?" Naomi said curiously.
"Doesn't look like any food I ever saw," Tal commented.
Mikey picked up a slice and held it out to them, "Come on dude and dudettes! You're not real Ninja Turtle if you've never had a slice of Pizza!" He said, gesturing for them to take it.
"I'll try it!" Ames said as she took the slice and took a bite out of it, but then her eyes widened before she started chewing at it, which made her smile widely before she ate the whole slice in one go before she gave a small burp, which caused her to cover her mouth while giving a light blush as the others looked at her. "Uh, yuck! You guys won't like it. I'll take the rest." She said, reaching for the box.
"No way!/Nu-uh!/Move over!/Gimme!/No hoarding!" The other retorted before grabbing their own slices and scarfing them down the rest.
"Never thought I tasted anything better than our village's food, but this is amazing!" Jenny cheered as she ate her slice.
"Heheh, yeah. We had the same experience when we first had our slice when we went up to the surface." Leo said in amusement. "And trust us, the only food we had to eat down here for 15 years was worms and algae. They're good, but not so much for the taste."
"Oof, at least we had actual fruits, and vegetables for breakfast," Vee said as she finished off her slice.
"Lucky you. Sounds like an improvement when living in the sewers." Raph commented.
"Hey, Leo, you want to play next?" Donnie asked.
"Nah. Go ahead, guys. I'm cool." Leo said as he walked off with Raph, Vee, and Olly beside him.
Raph then put Leo in a headlock, "It's good to have you back, Leo," He said, surprising the three turtles, "Really," He said while looking away with a cool guy frown.
Leo smiled and freed himself, "Thanks Raph," He said as the two shared their secret fist bump.
Vee then turned to Leo. "Leo, we need to talk to Master Splinter about what Karai had just said to us earlier." She said to him.
Leo nodded as they headed for the Dojo and Leo turned to Vee, "Hey Vee, thanks for believing in me. Even when I didn't," He said with a smile.
Vee smiled and gave him a light punch to the arm, "What are friends for, Hero boy?" She asked.
Lego gave a slight chuckle from that. "What made you come up with that name?"
"Your brothers told me about you being a Space Hero fan. You practically live in those last season cartoons and outdated comics." Vee said with an amusing smirk.
"Hey, Space Heroes is awesome!" Leo stated as Vee chuckled before they entered the Dojo and saw Master Splinter meditating as the two nodded and sat down behind him. "We're sorry to bother you Master Splinter, but we have some questions," He started.
"About Karai and her mother," Vee added.
"It is late, you two," Splinter said as he stood up. "These questions will have to wait another time."
"She said you took her mother away from her." Leo pressed on. "We know it's not true. Right?"
"You'd never kill anyone, right?" Vee asked. "Even if they were in the Foot." She said to him.
"No, it is not true," Splinter confirmed. "But the truth is… almost as difficult." He said as he walked off.
"Please, Sensei, tell us." Leo pleaded.
"You can trust us." Vee added, "Please tell us, what is your true connection to Karai?" She asked as Splinter turned to them.
"Karai… is my daughter," Splinter revealed, which shocked the two turtles.
