Authors Note - I know some people were disappointed with the last chapter and how it turned out. But I still need some sort of plot to follow. Things will make sense later.

Recap...

No, that would be the last ditch effort. If he did something worse.. like kill Ace or one of the commanders like he threatened. Movement catches her attention, right as Teach goes to place the den den back into her bag. Her body tenses, but he moves away afterwards.

"I got a boat off to the north, it'll fit you as well." Teach grins, nodding his head in that direction.

She narrows her eyes, but swallows her tongue and agrees with a sharp nod of her head. "Fine."

"You know, Sakura." Teach started, and Sakura gritted her teeth to keep herself from saying something she'll regret.

"I always wondered where you came from-" Her breath catched in her throat.

"The commanders, and Oyaji, seem to know. It's not every day you hear someone fell from the sky." Teach finishes, looking off into the ocean.

"Does it bother you that much?" She asks, eyes searching the larger man's face.

"Nah, Zhahaha!" The man laughs, throwing his head back. And a chill runs through her spine, shuffling her knees closer to her chest. The urge to push him overboard and leave him stranded was rather hard to ignore.

"I just never expected you to be such a nuisance in my plan. Everything was going smoothly until you came along." Teach says offhandly.

Sakura narrows her eyes. "What is, your plan, Teach?" She asks, leaning forward and staring straight at him. His gaze meets hers in a challenge.

"Nothing you need to know about. Such a stupid question." He grins, teeth and all. And Sakura leans away instinctively.

A frown on her face, she falls silent. Unable to find anything important to say to such a vial man.

Five days. Stuck on a fucking boat with Teach of all people. Luckily, she was smart enough to buy and pack rations for the journey home. But they were thinning quickly with her and Teach eating.

No storms had hit them either, and their trip over the sea was smooth sailing for the most part. Minus the lack of good sleep, it wasn't too terrible. If she ignored her company.

The Moby Dick eventually came into sight around mid afternoon on the fifth day. The first person to spot their small ship was Marco himself. Dropping down a ladder for the two to climb on up.

"Teach, Sakura." Marco said, grinning at the two.

Teach laughed, and greeted Marco as well. And Sakura forced herself fo smile through her exhaustion.

The Phoenix didn't seem to notice as he ushered Teach over to Whitebeard. Saying something about informing him on everything that went down. She watched the two leave, before swirling her head around to glance around the deck of the ship.

Stunning a little, Sakura caught her balance with one hand on the railing. Before making a beeline to the room she had been staying at. One thought on her mind, and that was taking a nice long sleep. No interruptions from anyone, unless someone was actually dying.

Thankfully, nobody seemed to try and stop her for her attention. And Sakura made it to her room quite quickly. Opening the door, before closing and locking it behind her. She made quick work of her dirtied clothes, switching them out for someone more comfortable- before falling into bed with a much needed sigh.

Her mind traveled to the last week and a half. The boy, who she had saved. She hoped he was still with the old man, but Teach hadn't allowed her to go check. Despite that Celestial Dragons words ringing in the back of her head. Filling her with doubt that the man she did leave the boy with was any good. Then the Celestial Dragon.

Killing him had felt good. It if she were lucky, they wouldn't have looked for his body until after her and Teach had left the island. Which meant his death would be less likely pinned on her.

As Haruta said, they were trouble.

Groaning into her pillow, Sakura closed her eyes and pulled her blanket up and over. Burying herself into the fluffy bed. Before her mind falls blank, and unconsciousness takes over.

"Sakura!" Someone yells, knocking on her door rapidly.

She groans, rolling over to face the ceiling. The knocking doesn't stop, and she throws her legs over the side and stands. "I'm coming." She calls out, walking to the door, unlocking it and pulling it open.

Thatch grins down at her. "You missed breakfast, but it's lunch now. And I won't have you skipping two meals." He says, hands resting on his hips.

She groans, waving him off. "Yeah, yeah." She murmurs, as he turns and walks off. She follows after him, her pace sluggish.

It seems she had slept through the night, and into late morning, early afternoon. Running her fingers through her hair to look a little more appealing, the two of them enter the dining hall. She scans the room, finding most of the commanders sitting together. Thankfully Teach wasn't here. But Ace was missing.

"Still haven't gotten the kid to join meals yet?" She asks Thatch.

The chef sighs and nods. "Still as stubborn as always." He says.

Sakura walks along side him, heading in the direction of the food set out. Thatch is talking about something, not that Sakura didn't mean to pay attention- but the food was calling for her. Her stomach rumbling as she piled it onto the slowly filling plate.

She turns to Thatch once she's finished, and waves at him as he heads over to the commanders table. Leaving her standing there as she surveys the room.

She wasn't in any mood to talk today, heading over to to an semi-empty table, and sitting down. She smiles at the other crew mates seated around her. But mostly pays attention to her fork as she shovels her food into her mouth.

Letting out a moan at the wonderful flavors. Finally something different compared to boring rations. Definitely something she wouldn't miss in the near future.

Sakura finds herself walking along the top of the deck, not even a few hours later.

Marco had said she didn't need to start back in the medical bay until tomorrow. Which left her with basically, nothing to do for the time being. But she supposed a break was nice once in awhile.

"You're back." Someone says from behind her.

Turning around, Sakura is surprised to see Ace standing there. Arms crossed over his chest. She raises a brow.

"Miss me?" She jokes.

Ace narrows his eyes, turning his head to the side. "No."

Sakura goes to say something to such a lying answer, but the boy continues. "You're still going to teach me, right?"

Sakura blinks back surprise. That was something she least expected to hear about. She thought Ace found meditation boring. But perhaps he was indeed enjoying it.

"I mean.." the black-haired boy pauses, eyes darting to her for a split second. "I've been meditating while you were gone. I.. whatever this is stupid." He mutters.

Sakura holds up her hands. "Whoa, slow down there. I never said things would stop after the mission, did I?" She rushes out to keep the teen from rushing away.

The boys face flushes red in embarrassment. "No... so?" He presses on.

Sakura rolls her eyes, something fond tugging at her heart. "Tomorrow, we can meditate together. And I'll see how far you've improved from there." She says, finialized.

Ace grins. "Good!" He stops, before turning around and fleeing just as Marco comes around the corner.

"I heard voices, everything okay?" He asks, when he notices Sakura standing there alone.

She hums, lazily turning to face the first commander. "Just Ace."

Marco grins fondly, shaking his head. But comes to stand beside her, tilting his head to face her. "I'm glad he's warming up to someone."

She sighs. "Me to."
