Introduction to The Paths We Choose

This idea has taken up residence in my mind taking my attention away from my other stories such as, More Than A One Time Thing? The Thunder God and The Celestial Goddess, Smut One-Shots, NaLu week which is July 1-8, and a Black Butler request that I got. I have been working on all of them when I have the time. There's also GraLu Week and PolyPair Week that will be coming up in the future, just waiting on the dates.

Fairy Tail belongs to Hiro Mashima and My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) belongs to Kohei Horikoshi

Please remember this is a FANFICTION. I emphasize that because I have seen one too many times people getting criticized for taking their own liberties and creating something new and different.

FAIR WARNING: CONTAINS FAIRY TAIL, 100-YEAR-QUEST, AND MHA SPOILERS. IF YOU DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS THEN IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT IF SOMETHING IS SPOILED FOR YOU.

If you haven't read/watched the manga/anime of either Fairy Tail (This includes reading the 100-Year-Quest) or My Hero Academia then I suggest you stop right here and don't continue on.

This fanfiction story contains lemons and there is material that may be sensitive to many readers. Violence, Death, Rape (don't worry, I DO NOT go into detail with the last one).

I'll be letting you know the number of words per chapter not including author notes. Some are pretty lengthy.

SUMMARY:

One year after the 100-Year Quest 20-year-old Lucy is sent to another world. It happens so quickly that Lucy can't question the mysterious person who has broken into her home and sent her away to another world. It's a completely different world than home. She finds herself having to hide who she really is to avoid discovery because should anyone learn who she really is, she'll be in a lot of danger. Two years later, the 22-year-old meets someone who could change her life for the better or for the worse.

26-year-old Kai Chisaki (Overhaul) is torn between following the Boss's ideologies and acting on his own doing what he thinks needs to be done to reclaim the power the Yakuza once held over society. One night there's a disturbance outside of the compound. He along with the Boss and his childhood friend, Hari Kurono (Chronostasis) run outside to find out what's happening only to see a beautiful blonde woman take down a guy harming an innocent woman. As he gets to know her, he becomes enthralled and is torn between being the man for her or the man he feels the Yakuza needs.

Will he change paths and not become the man we know in the manga/anime? Or is he still destined to go down the dark one? Hell if I know at the moment. Takes place a year and a half before the Shie Hassaikai Arc.

Pairing By The End: Unknown. NatsuxLucy, ChisakixLucy, HawksxLucy, along with other possibilities. As the story progresses you'll understand how there's opportunities for there to be other pairings. I may write chapters of the alternative paths she could take, resulting in different endings, dark or happy. As the story progresses feel free to express who you would like to see her paired with.

There is no time difference between Earth and Earthland. Lucy will still be able to use her magic, but it will be referred to as her ability instead of magic, when she uses it. The zodiac spirits won't be shown a lot. There's more to say about that but it'll be explained later on.

There will be many times that Lucy, Chisaki (Overhaul), and other characters will be OOC.

There will be times it cuts to Fairy Tail.

To make it easier to keep track of time, each chapter will be an individual month. For example, the second chapter will be titled April '23. I don't know what the year is in MHA, so I decided to just go with 2023.

Now I want to make it clear that I will have some parts about a yakuza wrong. I know that I've done my research. I've modified it to fit this FANFICTION.

I personally interpreted The Boss in MHA as not caring about being the top dog in the underworld because he was tired of the violence, and senseless killing among other things. I see him continuing to use violence to stop sex traffickers and the like. He has stated that he will NOT allow drug trafficking or gun distribution. He wants the yakuza to be more honorable.

I want to get this out now. In a later chapter, Lucy will compare yakuza to guilds, mainly Fairy Tail. For example:

A similarity:

The Yakuza has a list of principles, one being personal honor or Giri. The concept of Giri is about fulfilling one's duty and obligations, even if it involves personal sacrifice. Yakuza members may feel a strong sense of duty toward their superiors, peers, and the organization as a whole.

Can anyone who has read/watched Fairy Tail see a similarity? Completing requests on the mission board could be considered fulfilling one's duty and obligations. Outside of that there's the times they feel they have the duty and obligation to sacrifice themselves. Erza on the Tower Of Heaven. Gray continually trying to use Iced Shell. I think he tried three times? Feel free to correct me on that. The list goes on. Strong sense of duty toward their superiors. Everyone feels that way about Master Makarov, especially Erza. They feel the same way about their guildmates and Fairy Tail.

A difference:

Let me start off by saying the punishment is different.

Another principle on the list is Family and Loyalty or Kumi. Yakuza members are organized into families or clans known as Kumi. Loyalty to the family is paramount, and members are expected to prioritize the interests of the group over personal gain. Betrayal is considered a severe offense.

Pretty similar to Fairy Tail but also different. Did you know that in a yakuza should anyone break that code, the little finger will be cut off their hand? It's a practice that has been dwindling. What happened to Ivan and Laxus when they betrayed the guild? They were expelled. Laxus, however, was reinstated! YAY! Thank you Gildarts.

I think that just about covers everything to avoid questions later on.
