*BOOM*

"... Dad... this is clearly not working." Naruto peeled himself off the wall when a robot the two were working on exploded, and Naruto caught his Knight piece that fell out of the ceiling into his hand. He only had slight burns thanks to quick defensive magic. "Here." Naruto tossed his Knight to his father.

The man caught it.

"Science is like cooking, sometimes it just doesn't go right. Now, lets try this again and see if maybe a different plug-in program will help." Ajuka walked over to a different humanoid robot.

It was just the bare bones skeleton of the robot, without any of the special traits added to it that would make it pleasing to look at. Ajuka went behind a robot and he opened the back of it's head, where there was a slot for a chip to be inserted. Ajuka inserted the chip into the machine, and it turned on.

It's eyes opened.

"... Designation Required."

"Your name is 7A, you are a the 7th attempt at an android made to help my son. Now, hold still as I try to insert your power source and soul into you." Ajuka closed the back of the robot's head when it finished getting it's answer. The robot had a female programmed voice, since that was the easiest voice for him to download into a machine. Also, female android voice was just a much better design choice.

He opened her chest where her heart would be.

There was a space in the middle, a small sphere with different wires similar to veins coming out of it. He simply opened the sphere and placed the Knight piece inside of it.

"Here is the part where I fill it with power and-"

*BOOM*

Naruto managed to activate his barrier in time for the robot to explode the second that he activated the Evil Piece to jumpstart it's energy circuits... and the robot proceeded to instantly lose control of all of it's functions and explode. Naruto caught his Evil Piece and handed it back to his father, who managed to save the robot head. He plugged it into his computer and looked at the results.

Naruto only saw gibberish.

"Hmmmm... the Plug-In chip doesn't have enough memory in it to act as a human brain and also include battle data, as well as all the other functions... Lets see..." Ajuka sat down and inserted an entirely new chip into the computer. Naruto yawned and sat on a table, before he rolled his eyes when his father got into his work.

The boring part.

-Hours Later-

"Hmmmmmmm... if I include all the required functions, it doesn't leave enough room for battle functions, making it useless as a Knight... but if I give it functions to fight with, then it doesn't have the functions needed to ensure it can do what is needed outside of battle." Ajuka was stumped.

Each of his Plug-in chips could process and hold enough data for it to hold a 1.4 petabytes of information in it, but it would seem that when everything was programmed into it, over .6 petabytes of data was required just to give it the ability to see the world around it as a human would be capable of. The human brain was remarkable, and the Plug-In chip served as the android's brain.

It couldn't hold all of what was needed and fight.

"Are you talking to me, or yourself?" Naruto asked as he opened an eye and glanced at the older man.

"I'm talking to the room. For a scientist, sometimes talking out loud can give you a different perspective on it. To hear what you're thinking lets you doubt yourself... the problem I'm facing is how to program everything I need onto a single chip." Ajuka played with Naruto's knight piece between his fingers.

"Why one chip? Why can't you split it between more than one chips?"

"Well..." Ajuka stopped when Naruto stated that, and he was about to answer, before he thought about it. "... that is a good solution. It's obvious, not ideal, but it does make sense. I can split different core elements to different chips, and give the android the ability to swap between them mentally." Ajuka had wanted to get everything needed all on a single chip, so that everything could be quick and easy.

He stopped and thought about it more.

"Well... guess we'll be scrapping the A and D series Androids and focusing on making a newer model that is designed for multiple chips." Ajuka smiled at Naruto, who thought up a very obvious, but overlooked solution to the main problem.

-3 Days Later-

"I present to you Number 1, Type E... of course, this is just her robot skeleton without the flesh... but look here... 3 chip slots... and her look at this here." Ajuka opened the chest of the still under-construction android.

She was having muscle and skin printed onto her body, starting with her arms.

Most of her body was still robotic-looking, but the parts with muscle and skin on it were starting to look very human in nature. Naruto reached out and touched the hand that was finished being made.

"... It's cold... I don't feel any warmth at all. Dad... this is just a machine, this android doesn't have a soul in it." Naruto stated when he just didn't feel the spark of life in the machine at all. Even when he felt how soft her hand was. She didn't react at all to his words, or show any offense to his statement, or even give off the feeling that she had any emotions.

As soft as her hard was, it was cold and hard.

"I apologize, I do not understand."

"No... you don't... I'm sorry." Naruto spoke with sadness. Naruto raised his hand up, and he blew the robot's head off of it's shoulders.

*BOOM*

He caught his Evil Piece that was used to power the machine.

"Why?" Ajuka wasn't angry when he stood up and stated that. He didn't understand, but Naruto felt something that he missed.

"She didn't feel alive, she just felt like a machine. Like she didn't have the ability to feel anything. I don't want a robot slave, I want them to have a life. I want them to have desires of their own... even Rio, who only wants to serve me, has her own passions." Naruto picked up the destroyed arm of the machine, that was motionless on the floor.

Ajuka clapped his hands together.

"Okay, so capability for emotion is missing. I didn't include them in this machine, but I'll start including them. Lets see how this goes."

-2 Weeks Later-

"Well?"

"Well?" Naruto asked his father as he walked towards the completed android.

She was completed, her robot skeleton wasn't visible at all. Her entire body was naked, and covered in flesh. Synthetic flesh designed to look and feel like real flesh, but flesh all the same. He reached out and touched her face, which had a small mole underneath the left side of her mouth. She was naked, so the fact she had breasts and genitals was visible at the moment.

She would require clothes.

She realized he was looking at her, and she raised one of her arms to cover her chest, and she lowered a hand to cover her genitals. She showed a slight sense of not wanting to be seen, though she didn't blush exactly either. Her cheek had a warmth to it, an emotional and intelligent warmth, and her greyed blue eyes looked at his hand and then switched to observing his face.

"I am 2nd Generation, Model B."

"2nd Gen?" Naruto asked.

"The Model C wasn't up to snuff, and this is the second time I'm programming her model. The first generation Model B... well the core needed to be upgraded. The other androids never survived long enough for magic to really flow through them... so I needed to upgrade their circuits to be able to withstand enhanced volumes of magic power."

"I am currently operating at 53% power, and charging. In 4 hours I will be at peak charge. My Knight Piece core is functioning at optimal levels." 2nd Gen Model B spoke in a rather robotic voice, though it had a slight amount of pride in herself.

Naruto could feel his own magic power inside of her, powering her.

He placed his hand on her.

"... Energy levels quickly rising... full charge will now take 2 hour, 9 minutes, 31 seconds." She spoke, and Naruto felt her draining his energy from him and into her core. It would seem flesh to flesh contact with her could allow her to recover her energy levels from his own. It was a rather common ability to share your energy through skin contact, but not one Naruto had to practice very often.

"You need a name." Naruto stated as he looked at her.

"Do I require a name, or do I not? Having a name doesn't seem to be required for me to function." She pointed out.

"Even though she has emotions, it seems she is more geared to programming than thought. I'll deactivate her and try again."

"No wait... no... I think it is her emotions making her question it... she's questioning me, when he programming should demand she obey me at all times. I like her... she's questioning herself." Naruto smiled wide when he saw her act like a machine, but she wasn't thinking like a machine.

"I just arrived at the logical conclusion."

"Did you?"

"..."

"You don't know. To be an android, or to be a robot... Ah! To be or not to be!" Naruto realized the perfect name for her when he realized that she was curious, and he could use that to name her. "2b, your name is 2b." Naruto stated with a snap of his fingers.

"Very well, my name is 2b." 2b spoke and confirmed her acceptance of her name.

"Neat... man, my peerage is looking to be a real Taco Tuesday." Naruto laughed and crossed his arms. His father stopped.

What?

"Oh! Hahah... yes, that is funny!" Ajuka laughed when he got the joke.

Koyomi peeked her head into the lab.

"Tacos?"

"You know, I actually am in the mode for tacos right now." Naruto rubbed his stomach.

"Well, first we need to shower. We've been in this lab for the past 2 days." Ajuka stated as he smelled himself. Naruto copied the motion, and Koyomi walked over to him and smelled him. She recoiled back from him, and her blankly stared at her for recoiling.

2nd Knight added to the peerage.

The Devil Android, 2b.
