I'm finally back with a new chapter! I hope you all enjoy it :D Since the story now takes place a year later, some fan characters like Tammy will appear, and obviously, they're all a year older. So now, Ludwig is 19 years old! It will also take place after my other stories "A New Baby Redux", "I Meet the Marios Remake", "I Meet the Koopas Remake", "A New Family Remake", "The Crystal Kingdom", and "Serene Isles".

One year later

Ludwig was making his way to the Darkland Library, returning a mystery book that his younger cousin Sandra recommended. Ludwig smiled as he glanced down at the book in his left hand. He really enjoyed the story! He ran his right hand through his hair, feeling the small horns that were starting to grow. Ludwig smiled, enjoying the cool breeze. As he got closer to the library, his smile widened when he saw two familiar Koopas exiting the building.

"Tiana! Tammy!" Ludwig greeted Iggy's girlfriend and their 1 year old daughter.

"Oh hi Ludwig!" Tiana replied. Tammy smiled at Ludwig and giggled.

After giving his little niece a kiss on the forehead, Ludwig looked away from Tammy and at Tiana.

"So, how are you two today?" Ludwig asked.

"We're great! I picked out a new book to read to Tammy." Tiana replied, holding up a children's book with a Goomba and Koopa Troopa on the cover.

"I'm sure she'll love it! I'm actually returning a book." Ludwig replied.

"Cool! Well, I guess we'll see you later. Iggy and Lemmy bought Tammy a new toy, and they're excited to see her reaction to it." Tiana chuckled.

"Great! See you guys!" Ludwig said and watched the two leave. He then entered the library to return the book.

After returning the book, Ludwig made his way back to the castle. Once he walked inside, a few servants greeted him as he walked by. Ludwig smiled and waved back at them. He decided to go to the ballroom to play one of his songs on the piano. Before he got to the ballroom though, he heard Bowser's voice coming from the throne room. Feeling curious, he hid behind a wall and listened to his father.

"Even though we lost to those plumbers, I'm still proud of you, son!" Bowser said.

"Thanks Papa! When I grow up, I wanna be as strong as you!" Bowser Jr cheered.

"Ah. He's talking to Junior again." Ludwig thought.

Ludwig was about to continue on his way, but froze when he heard something Bowser said.

"Haha! I know you will! Heh, I bet you'll even be a great king like your old man someday!"

"No...NO! King!?" Ludwig backed away from the throne room. He took a few deep breaths, hoping to calm himself down. Unfortunately, it didn't work. He gritted his teeth in anger and ran out of the castle.

"I can't believe this! King!? Is Father seriously thinking about making that kid his successor?!" Ludwig said as he continued running.

Ludwig ran out of Darkland and through the other nearby worlds. He couldn't believe it! Bowser Jr? King?! That was insane!

"This can't be happening! This can't be happening!" Ludwig yelled.

After running for some time, Ludwig arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom. He made his way through Toad Town, almost knocking down a few Toads. He stopped running when he made it to a house with a blue roof. He knocked on the door, waiting for the person on the other side to open it. A minute later, Jasmine, his girlfriend, opened the door.

"Hi Luddy!" She greeted. Her smile disappeared when she saw how angry and upset he was.

"Ludwig? What's the matter?" She asked as she let him inside. Ludwig shook his head and glared at the floor.

"...I heard my father talking to Junior. He told him that he'd be a great king just like him!" Ludwig exclaimed.

"Oh Ludwig..." Jasmine frowned.

"I can't believe this! I mean, Junior is a child! I'm the oldest!" Ludwig yelled, his anger and jealousy growing.

After thinking for a moment, Jasmine spoke again. "Wait. What if he means that Junior would be a king in a different kingdom? Maybe he'd marry a princess and they'd be king and queen."

"Pfff! I doubt it! He's made it clear that Junior is his favorite!" Ludwig scoffed.

"Ludwig, just because Bowser said Junior would be a great king, doesn't mean that he's making Junior the crown prince." Jasmine replied.

"Oh come on, Jasmine! Do you really believe that?!" Ludwig exclaimed. Jasmine sighed and walked closer to him.

"I just think that you should stay positive. I mean, who cares if Junior's the next king of Darkland? I-"

"I CARE, JASMINE! I'm the oldest of my siblings! I'm the crown prince! Not Junior! I should be the next king!" Ludwig screamed. Jasmine backed away slightly.

"I-I'm sorry, Ludwig. I just meant...You're amazing. Everyone in the Koopa Kingdom loves and respects you. They always will, whether you're king, prince, or even a Baron." Jasmine explained.

"Baron. The lowest title. That's what I am in Meringue Clouds, but I despise being called that!" Ludwig replied. Jasmine could tell that Ludwig was still upset.

"Ludwig," Jasmine walked closer, "Why don't I make us some tea? I'm sure it'll help you relax, and we can talk about this calmly?"

Ludwig turned away from Jasmine, and walked over to her door.

"I don't need tea right now." He said. He turned the doorknob and opened it.

"Where are you going, Luddy?" Jasmine asked.

"...To the clouds. I need to think. Goodbye Jasmine." Ludwig replied.

"Ludwig, wait!" Jasmine called out to him. Ludwig then left her home.
