For Bad Things Happen Bingo: "Headache/Migraine". Lloyd would rather not have each of the ninja bother him when he has a headache, thank you very much. But in their defence, he never told them he had a headache.

Today was just one of those days where Lloyd woke up on the wrong side of bed… literally. He was having a really weird nightmare– like a fever dream, but he definitely didn't have a fever– and woke up to Kai hitting him with a pillow "just for fun". It was then that Lloyd realised that his feet were on his pillow and his head was where his feet should have been.

Not lashing out at Kai was a difficult challenge, though Lloyd ultimately succeeded at it. He immediately sat up on his bed when it felt like his brain had turned into a smoothie. Probably because I moved too fast after waking up, he convinced himself. His vision started to double so he shut his eyes and held his head in his hands.

"You okay there, dude?" Why did Kai's voice sound so distant when he was so close?

"Yeah," Lloyd replied, swatting Kai's hand off his shoulder. When did he put it there anyways? "You shouldn't have hit me with a pillow."

"Sorry," Kai apologised. "You overslept, though. Come and eat whatever's left of breakfast, if Cole left anything." With that, Kai left the room.

Lloyd stumbled out of bed. The sudden ringing in his ears was killing him. Take slow steps, he told himself. Before making his way out, he glanced at the clock. It was eleven in the morning. That was dangerously late for Lloyd. Ignoring his current state, he ran to the kitchen. There, he saw Cole gobbling up food like a hungry monster.

"Hey Lloyd," he started. "I hope you don't like cake," he spoke before stuffing a handful of a slice into his mouth and continuing with it full. "We were having it for breakfast and this is the last slice."

But Lloyd did want cake. He was starving. Watching Cole licking his fingers and head off somewhere else had him fuming, but he kept his feelings to himself. His sudden increase in anger made his headache worse. He held onto the table for support, until he decided it was safe to move.

He ate an apple to deal with his headache, but it didn't help. After throwing its remains in the bin, someone tapped his shoulder. He came face-to-face with Nya.

"Wanna train together?" She smiled. As much as Lloyd didn't want to, he had already slept for too many extra hours, so he didn't deserve any more rest.

"Sure, why not," he said bluntly. Nya frowned at his attitude but didn't say anything.

Outside it was even hotter, and that worsened Lloyd's condition even more. He felt like he was going to throw up.

I wonder what her reaction would be if I vomited on her right now, he thought as he dodged her hits. Unfortunately for himself, he was too slow today, and Nya landed a punch on his head. He fell backwards, and shut his eyes once more, the annoying ringing noises coming back.

"Lloyd, I'm so sorry!" He heard Nya yell. "I should call Zane, or Sensei–"

"I'm fine, Nya," he replied, tone colder than Zane's ice on a snowy day, and walked back indoors, not waiting for a response. He drank three cups of water, one right after the other, but it did nothing. Finally, some peace and–

"Lloyd! Come play video games with me!" Lloyd jerked his head to the side to see a familiar, annoying freckled face. But Lloyd didn't want to hurt Jay's feelings. Besides, maybe the games could take his mind off this horrible headache.

He was wrong.

The bright screen contrasting the dark room burnt his eyes, and the terrible outdated graphics didn't help. Not to mention how sick Lloyd was of the annoying repetitive music and the grunts of both his own and Jay's characters when they hit each other. Oh, and Jay wouldn't stop screaming.

Lloyd wasn't even able to focus on what was happening in the video game and to be honest, he didn't care. He decided he would let Jay win so he could go rest for once. The headache was getting worse by the minute.

In hindsight, Lloyd should have expected Jay to holler "I WOOOOON! YOU SUCKER!" in his ear, but then again, he couldn't think clearly. And that also caused him to reach his breaking point.

He stood up and threw the controller at Jay's face. It hit the lightning ninja hard, and he held his nose, blood dripping out. But it meant nothing to Lloyd. Not when his head was literally going to explode any second now.

"How does that feel, Jay?" Lloyd asked rhetorically. "Did you enjoy the pain you caused me?"

Nya came running inside the room, probably to find out why Jay was screaming earlier. She stopped dead in her tracks at the current sight, before breaking out of her stupor and running to her boyfriend.

"Jay!" Lloyd couldn't figure out what was happening. Apparently Jay whispered something in Nya's ear. She immediately perked her head up.

"Lloyd, what the hell?"

"Oh hey, it's Nya, the girl who hit me in the head when I already had a killer headache! And now she's angry that I gave Jay only a tenth of the pain I've been experiencing all day!"

Lloyd's rant brought everyone else to the room. But he didn't care.

"What's all this noise about?"

"Jay! You're bleeding!"

The sight must have been funny. Two game controllers on the floor, the one next to Jay being covered in blood, the blue ninja himself holding his bleeding nose. And then there was Lloyd, glaring at him, a murderous look on his face. It was easy to overlook how pale the Green Ninja was.

"In addition to my headache, I woke up to Kai hitting me with a pillow, Cole ate my breakfast, Nya punched my head and Jay screamed in my ear!"

"That doesn't really justify you hitting me," Jay interjected, only to receive a glare from Nya.

"We understand your struggles, Lloyd, but you should talk to us about your pain so we don't bother you," Zane said.

"So you think it's okay to bother me when I'm not sick? You know what, I'm not gonna wait for you to piss me off too, Zane." Lloyd tried storming out of the room, but the headache finally took over. He instantly doubled over and threw up on the floor.

"Gross!"

After a painful round of heaving, he stopped vomiting and he looked at the shocked expressions of each of his teammates.

"I-I'm sorry," he stuttered. He took a tissue and wiped his mouth. Now he felt too dizzy to move. "I'll clean it up…"

It was then he realised that he was going to collapse. He tried to grab the edge of the sofa for support but it was too late. His vision turned black and his head hit the floor.

The first thing Lloyd felt was his headache, though it was somewhat lighter. There was something on his forehead, definitely a wet washcloth. He opened his eyes to see Zane sitting by his bed.

"Zane?" Lloyd tried to sit up, but his body was disobedient and couldn't lift itself up. "What happened?"

"You had a fever, and you collapsed."

Then Lloyd remembered the horrible day he had, and throwing his controller at Jay in his outburst. "Is Jay okay?"

"Yes. He only had a small nosebleed. I am certain he does not mind."

"Zane, I'm sorry I–"

"There's nothing to apologise for, Lloyd, except for not telling anyone about your headache. When you feel sick, you need to do something about it. Otherwise, it leads to consequences like this." He poked Lloyd's chest for emphasis. "But your anger was mostly a result of the others' wrongdoings." Zane stood up. "Is there anything you want to eat? You don't look like you ate much today."

The blond took a minute to think about it. "Yes, actually," was Lloyd's response. "I'd love to have some cake." He smiled. "and this time, keep Cole away from it, will you?"

Zane returned the friendly expression as he stood by the door. "Will do."

I'm not gonna lie, I got a headache writing this :P
