A Piece Found
This crazy fic came into being when my siblings and I were all rewatching The Force Awakens. My sister, who's really obsessed with TMNT, especially ROTTMNT, said "Hey. Let's swap characters from ROTTMNT with characters from The Force Awakens."
So here we are now. But before you go on, here are a few notes to aid in the understanding of this fic…
The Force Awakens characters have been switched with the ROTTMNT ones. So they'll be no hey-what-if-Rey-and-April-were-friends type of thing. I do love those kinds of fics though.
The ROTTMNT characters have always been in the Star Wars universe. There is no dimension hopping.
For the sake of least confusion, just forget the prequels and the originals. They didn't happen. This story picks up from The Force Awakens and treats it as a stand alone series of movies. I do plan to (eventually) write both the originals and prequels with the ROTTMNT characters, but not for a (very) long time. Just as a heads up, when I do write those, I will also treat them as stand alone series with absolutely no relation to the other Star Wars series of movies, i.e., the prequels will not lead to the originals, the originals will not lead to the sequels, etc.
There will be a lot (a LOT) of ROTTMNT lore and in-jokes in this. As well as a lot of Star Wars lore in an unholy union of insanity that will be decipherable only to someone who knows both Star Wars and ROTTMNT inside and out, as I and my siblings do. Do not worry, I will explain (mostly) everything in due time. If you have any questions feel free to ask me anything (anything) in the comments.
The characters will be slightly aged up in this. April's 20, Donnie and Leo are 18, Raph is 19, and Mikey is 17. Not that big of an age jump but just thought I'd give you a heads up.
Some of the plot and dialogue for The Force Awakens has been changed to better fit the ROTTMNT characters. Above all, I want to keep the ROTTMNT guys in character.
OK, I think that's all! I had a LOT of fun writing this and I hope all of you will have a lot of fun reading this! Review, comment, question, and what not!
Señor Hueso composed himself inside his humble tent. "You have traveled a long way, but not in vain, young…" Leo interrupted. "Look, Boneman, I know you've probably spent like five hundred years preparing that speech, but could we hustle things on a little?" Señor Hueso rolled his eyes and sighed. "Pepino. This is a very important moment for me. Could you please not spoil it?"
Leo examined his fingernails. "Look, just make it snappy, alright?"
Señor Hueso reached into a fold of his cloak, and pulled out a chip tied to a string. He dropped it into Leo's palm.
"This contains a piece fo the map to Raphael Hamato. I…do not know where the rest may be found."
Leo snapped the chip off the string and winked. "Don't worry, Hueso, if there's anyone in the galaxy who can find the rest of it, it's me!"
Señor Hueso rose, as did Leo. "Well, now that business is concluded, pepino, how do you feel about, say, a slice of pizza?" "I…". Leo began, but he stopped. A familiar quiver reached him through the Force. Donnie was near. And he was not in a good mood.
"Come to think of it, I actually have to go now. Adios, Hueso!"
Leo, clutching the chip, ran out of the tent. Mayhem soon appeared beside him, half running, half teleporting, as usual. They crested a dune, and were soon in front of Leo's X-Wing, in its trademark custom blue paint job.
Mayhem was already snuggled up in the cockpit as Leo was still struggling with the straps on his helmet.
"Come on, straps! Work before Donnie…". He trailed off as a giant First Order troop transport landed in the village he had just fled. "…gets here." He muttered, as stormtroopers poured out.
Leo chucked the helmet away and pulled a hissing Mayhem out of the cockpit. Working fast, he shoved the chip into a small compartment on Mayhem's collar.
"Look, Mayhem, buddy, you've got to get the chip back to the Resistance."
Mayhem stopped hissing and mewed/growled.
"Yeah, I'll be totally fine! Donnie wouldn't hurt me…much."
Mayhem hissed and swiped at Leo's face.
"Kidding! I'll be fine, really. Now you've got to go before he gets here. The Resistance needs you and all that junk."
Mayhem teleported a few feet away, but turned and looked back at Leo, who made a shooing motion. Soon Mayhem had scampered over the dunes and was gone.
Leo waited until Mayhem was out of sight, then jumped into the cockpit of his X-Wing, rotating it so that the guns faced the village.
"Oh ho yeah, time to bring the thunder!"
DL 2187 was nervous. And sweaty. Very, very sweaty. The armor he was wearing was not designed with ventilation in mind.
It was his first battle. Excitement? Fear? He wasn't sure exactly what he was supposed to feel. The textbooks had not been very clear on that.
And then the doors opened, and it all happened at once.
The smoke, the dust, the dirt, the screams! Troopers falling left and right, and then the one right next to him, shot or blown up he couldn't tell, lying bleeding on the ground.
DL 2187 knelt next to him, staring at the gaping wound and the blood, everywhere. They'd never bothered to teach troopers first aid.
The trooper reached up with a bloody hand, and before DL 2187 could move, he had smeared a bloody handprint across his helmet, before his hand dropped and he went limp.
DL 2187 was rooted to the spot. He was dead. This-This trooper, this-this person, was dead. What had he been called? DL 39…he didn't know. He couldn't remember. And, DL 2187 realized, nobody else would, either. No one else would know or remember. They'd probably reassign his number as soon as they got back to base.
DL 2187 couldn't take it anymore. He had to get away. Get away from all this. From people who didn't care, people who reassigned numbers as soon as the person who first bore it was dead…
And then someone was barking out orders, and DL 2187 mechanically got up and lined up with the rest of the troopers, pointing his blaster at the huddled villagers.
He only dimly registered Lord Von Ryan interrogating some pilot, and pointedly ignored the blaster bolt hovering in mid-air. Things like this, he was told, happened quite often.
Still, he couldn't help but take notice of what was happening, it was too compelling,
Lord Von Ryan and the pilot stared each other down fro a moment. Then Lord Von Ryan turned back to the ship with a swoosh of his cape.
"Take him to the ship, he has something I need."
Captain Cassandra nodded and two troopers began to drag the pilot to the ship.
Lord Von Ryan stalked in front.
Captain Cassandra asked "Lord Von Ryan? What about the prisoners?"
Lord Von Ryan halted and turned his head back. "Oh, kill them, Cassandra. They're of no use to me."
Captain Cassandra nodded briskly. Raising her arm in the fire when ready position she yelled, "FIRST ORDER!"
The troopers began firing. Screams again filled the desert night. But one trooper didn't fire. DL 2187 stood there, blaster half falling from his hands as he heard the pilot scream as he was dragged away, "NO! You-you can't do that, Dee!"
Dun-dun-dun! How does that grab you? Hope you liked!
