Lena's POV

Since I took the mystery surrounding my mother's murder away by being open about everything, it took the media a few weeks to get bored with me. Since Lex couldn't be found, there wouldn't be a trial anytime soon. Once I began converting the bunkers and doing positive things, the tabloids lost interest. CatCo was the only media outlet that wrote about the positive things I was doing.

Reading over contracts for the remaining bunker locations, I crunched numbers until I heard a familiar knock. "Come in." Closing the file folder, I smiled seeing Kara enter. "Hey, you."

"Hey. Jess let me in." Wrapping me in a strong embrace, Kara kissed me quickly.

Noticing her goofy smile and flushed cheeks, I smirked. "What?" Snaking my arms around slender hips, I kept the Super close.

"Just a thought I had earlier," she paused. "Alex was explaining Valentine's Day to Brainy and that made me realize this will be our first Valentine's Day as a couple."

"As a couple" are the key words," I grinned. "Remember, I filled your office with flowers after you saved me and it may have been on Valentine's Day." Back then, I wasn't sure what I felt for Kara. I just knew I was jealous of Mon-El.

"Oh, right. That was on Valentine's Day." Toying with a strand of my hair, Kara thought. "Is there anything special you want to do?"

"I have a few ideas," I grinned with my signature eyebrow raise. The action caused Kara to flush as red as her cape. "Maybe dinner on the day and then we fly to Paris or Ireland for the weekend? While J'onn and I dealt with the bunkers, I thought of all the places we could travel to."

"That sounds amazing." Kara's smile warmed my heart. "You would bring me to Ireland?"

"I want to learn more about my birth mother and where she came from. She and my father met shortly after she moved from Ireland to Canada." I chucked thinking about my research. "They met in a tea shop."

"How do you know all of this?"

"My father kept the letters he and Elizabeth wrote back and forth. After Lienal died, Lillian kept the letters. I found them in a safety deposit box along with a letter from Lillian. She kept them to give to me if the topic ever came up." Setting my jaw, I cleared my throat. "She set everything up so quickly. It's almost as if she knew she was going to die soon."

"Maybe she knew how strongly Lex would react and she planned to step between the two of you if she ever had to?" Kara offered. "You're right though. Everything does seem quick. Was there anything else?"

"Videos of Elizabeth and Lienal together. There was a small box of VHS tapes with the letters. I've not watched them yet. I wanted you to be with me when I did."

"There's nowhere else I'd want to be," Kara smiled. "I'm honored that you want to take me with you to learn about where you came from."

"Maybe tonight then? We can order some pizza, open a bottle of wine, and dive into my past before The Luthors."

"What I'm hearing is a night snuggled with you on the couch with food and wine. Sounds perfect to me," Kara grinned.

"It's a date." I kissed the woman's cheek before stepping away. "Now, how are things at CatCo?"

After food was delivered and the wine was poured, Kara and I started watching the VHS tapes. Some were of Elizabeth when she was a teenager with her, my, family back in Dublin. Others were of Lienal and Elizabeth in Newfoundland spending time together. They seemed happy. Mostly laughs and smiles with the occasional shenanigan thrown in. There were two separate videos on the last tape. One was of Elizabeth when she was pregnant and the other was of her chasing me in a field.

"I think that's the day she drowned," I muttered.

"What?" Kara paused the tape.

"My mother died by drowning in a lake. I think that's what she wore that day. I watched her. One minute she was in the water splashing around and the next she was gone." My voice cracked. "I didn't cry or try to help her." Memories flashed in my mind as I thought about that day.

"You were four, Lena." Placing her hand on mine, Kara squeezed. "No one would expect you to."

I searched comforting blue eyes. "Is it strange that I want to go back to the lake?"

"No. Before I found out Argo existed, I wanted to fly back to the area of space where Krypton was. I never got around to it once I realized my ship was still intact."

"I appreciate you not judging me for my morbid curiosity." I ran my thumb over the woman's knuckles.

"You're welcome," she smiled. "Do you want to continue?"

"Yes. It's nice hearing her voice again. It's been so long I've almost forgotten it." Pressing play, we continued watching. Elizabeth chased me in the field and laughed when she caught me. Lienal joined in with his own laugh once she spun me in the air.

When the tape was over, we sat in silence for a bit. "You look exactly like Elizabeth. The only difference is your hair."

"We do…" my voice trailed. Wrapping an arm around Kara, I pulled her closer. "Thank you for watching these with me."

"You're welcome." Kara let her head rest against my chest. "So, you want to go to Dublin this weekend?"

"Yes." Leaning forward, I grabbed a picture. "These two women were my mother's best friends. Maybe they can tell me about her."

"It's worth looking into." Seeing her phone screen light up, Kara frowned. "It's Alex." Unlocking the phone, Kara skimmed the text. "I'm needed downtown. A group of aliens are causing some trouble." Getting to her feet, Kara whipped off her glasses. Her new suit started to appear and covered what she wore. "Duty calls."

"See you soon." With a quick kiss, the Super was off.

Knowing Lex had a portal watch, I tinkered in the lab trying to create a device that would render it inactive when he returned from wherever he was hiding. Sitting on the stool, I took my protective glasses off. I want to catch him this time. He needs to be stopped and pay for what he's done to the human and alien races. Looking towards my shield ring, my lips pursed. At least now I have a chance to catch the bastard.

Hours passed and I was finally finished with the prototype. Rolling my neck, I stretched the stiff muscles. In theory, this should work. Sadly, I have no way to test it.

Taking the small box-shaped device to my office, I placed the activation remote under my desk and hid the device itself. My stomach growled loudly as I made my way towards my desk. Realizing the time, I chuckled. I can't go eight hours without food unless I'm sleeping. At least I can make it more than three hours now. Grabbing a meal bar, bag of chips, and a drink, I went to lean on the balcony. The sun's warmth made my body tingle.

Groaning, I closed my laptop and stomped towards the kitchen to get a snack. "Still getting used to the hunger cravings?" Kara laughed from the couch.

"Yes! It gets in the way!" I huffed, waiting for the microwave to finish. "Wait, I have heat vision." My realization caused the blonde to snort. "Oh, hush."

"Still getting used to the fact that you have powers. The opposite of my problem," Kara paused. "Although, you would go the entire day without eating because you'd get so focused on work so is this really such a bad thing?"

"Yes, it's cutting into my work schedule. I don't want to use super speed in the lab because who knows what could happen." Leaning against the counter, I began to eat.

"It gets easier, trust me," Kara smiled. "Eventually, when you realize what exactly your body needs on a daily basis, snacks will tide you over and you won't have to make such big meals randomly throughout the day."

"I should look into meal prep. Make a ton of meals on a day off and freeze them so I can just nuke them when I'm hungry. Cleaning would be a breeze now."

"Your freezer is big enough. That might work perfectly for you. Especially since you have the mini fridge in your office."

"You," a growl came from my office. "How dare you actually date an alien! Especially a Super!"

Here we go. Turning slowly, I sauntered back into the office. "You really didn't see it coming? Mr. IQ of 192," I smirked. As I passed my desk, I activated the device and sounded Kara's silent alarm. I hope this works. "Even Mother could see it."

Lex's brow twitched at the mention of Lillian. "You sold off my belongings and my house."

"Technically, I sold my belongings and my house. Lillian left me everything in her will." Stopping in front of the narcissist, I met his tenuous stare head on. "Everything belongs to me. Thank you for your contribution to the children of National City and all of the communities near your old bunkers."

"I'm outside. I won't interfere unless I need to," Kara whispered so I could only hear. "Alex, J'onn, and a team are outside your door."

"How dare you," he muttered. Rage barely contained below the surface.

I have you right where I want you. "I will give you credit though. Trying to brainwash Linda into starting a war between the US and Siberia so you could swoop in at the last minute and save the day was brilliant. Too bad the part of her that's Kara was too strong."

"So you did take Red Daughter from me." Lex ground his teeth. "Where is she?" He demanded.

"Somewhere safe. I beat you Lex. Admit it. I outplayed you this time."

Something snapped behind the man's eyes and he swung. Bones shattered as his hand came into contact with my jaw. Stumbling back, Lex screamed in pain. He cradled his hand, looking me over. "What…what are you?"

Sliding my hands into my pockets, I grinned. "Kryptonian." The blood drained from his face. Desperately trying to escape, Lex pressed the crown of his watch expecting a portal to appear. When one didn't, I chuckled. "Well, glad my plan worked."

Landing, Supergirl strode towards the defeated man. Alex, J'onn, and a few agents entered the office. "You done with him?" Kara asked, her cheeks turning pink when she noticed the burgundy suit.

Well she enjoys what she sees. "He's all yours," I smiled triumphantly.

"Keep your filthy eyes off my sister!" Lex fought the agents who tried to restrain him. So no one else got hurt, Alex sedated him. My brother's ranting slurred as the drug made its way through his system.

"That should last a few hours." Alex put the syringe in a plastic tube for safe transport. "We have a van parked around back. Is there a private way to take him back there?"

"Yes, take the private elevator. Use the badge I gave you last week. It will give you access." Turning my attention towards the Super, I continued. "Make sure Lex is locked up for good."

"I will," Kara nodded.

"Thank you for your help, J'onn. I wish there was a way to wipe his mind. It's unethical, I know. But it's the only way, besides death or the phantom zone, to keep everyone safe from his madness."

"I agree with you," J'onn studied the unconscious man.

"He has a brilliant mind but he can't be trusted," I smirked. "What will you do with him?"

"For now, he will be kept at the D.E.O. and only I can see him," Alex answered. "Between J'onn, Brainy, and I, we'll figure something out."

"Thank you." I looked between everyone. "All of you." Stepping forward, I unlatched Lex's watch band and slipped it off his wrist. "He won't be needing this anymore. You should probably put this in the fortress." I tossed the watch to Supergirl. "Will you take care of it?"

"Yes," she nodded. "Thank you for your help, Miss Luthor."

"You're welcome, Supergirl." Addressing her like that feels strange now. But not all agents know the connection between Kara Danvers and Supergirl. "While I know you fight for truth, justice, and the American way, it might be better if Lex just disappeared." Keeping face, Kara smirked and disagreed but I knew the look in her eyes. "And this is why I don't work for the government," I tried to keep my tone light.

I was glad to be alone for a bit after everyone left. Jess held my calls and pushed my last meeting of the day. Relaxing on the couch, I thought about the last few months. I really do need a vacation. An actual one where no one needs my attention. Maybe I can steal Sam for a little while? But that would cause Ruby to change schools mid semester or separate her from Sam for too long. Damn. Maybe over spring break. Leaning my head back, I sighed. I'm the last Luthor standing.

To learn about the Walsh family would take more than a day and a half so Kara and I decided to trade the international Valentine's Day trip for a staycation. The idea of not leaving the condo for an entire weekend sounded amazing to both of us. Alex said she could hold down the fort for three days and would only call Kara if it was absolutely necessary. We would go to Ireland over Ruby's spring break so she and Sam could come to National City.

Snuggling back into me, Kara sighed. "This is nice. I can be happy in Paris, Ireland, or National City. It doesn't matter where we are as long as I'm with you."

Wrapping an arm around her, I kissed the blonde's temple. "Good because you're stuck with me for a long time."

Grinning, she leaned her head back. "You have no idea how happy that makes me." Tilting my chin, Kara kissed me softly.

Running my hand up the reporter's thigh, I guided her to straddle my lap. Nipping her bottom lip, I smirked. "We have the entire weekend to ourselves. Most of that time, I'd like to spend in our bed." My heart started to pound realizing I said the quiet part out loud.

Leaning back to look at me, Kara spoke quietly. "Our bed?"
