The MIB looked at the boy who was standing in the street with an ice cream, licking it slowly like he was not being stared down at like he was a rare insect or something. The teacher who had been accompanying him stepped out and noticed the man straight away, looking at him and then the other one who had appeared from nowhere.
"Can I help you?" she asked with clear venom.
"Just wondering if we can have a word with Eddie here once he's had his ice cream." The one with a black tie said, the one with a dark grey tie nodding his agreement.
"What?" she stepped in behind the boy, pulling him to her and placing her hands over his ears like she was about to abuse them, but she said "Are you mad? This is Tanner. Is this about the custody case? You can tell his father that we already know and he is not to send people to spy on Tanner or his mum!"
Both men blinked, then said "What?"
"This is Tanner. I am giving him a cone for his excellent picture today" she said now haughty as she loked down her nose at them "Seriously, can you not tell them apart? Some detectives you are."
Both men opened and closed their mouths as they looked down at the boy who was licking the ice cream slowly while taking back at them like they were mad, the woman's hands over his ears normal.
As they walked off the Black Tie said to the Grey Tie "You know some of the kids are similar to look at. Maybe we need a list of people in this town so we can at least tick them off and get photos of each one for facial rec."
Grey Tie agreed and the teacher's eyes narrowed as she led Eddie away.

Thy entered the Mayoral Office to find him at a computer, muttering as he stabbed at the keyboard like it had wronged him in a past life.
"Mayor Greene. Can we have a copy of the last town census please?" Grey Tie asked as Black Tie slid around the wall of filing cabinets, intent on looking for them himself like there could really be no need to permission.
"Well, it's not been done in a few years so… good luck with that and not everyone is here thanks to the cordons. Those away for work out of town are now locked out… and there have been some families come and go… it's no longer correct." Mayor Greene looked apologetic.
"Well, there must be records... what about the voting lists?" Grey Tie asked.
"All locked in there somewhere. My woman who does this was away getting her bunions seen to in the big smoke. Locked out" he shrugged.
"Well… the town library. We can get the list of everyone with a library card" Grey Tie said as he looked over at Black Tie.
"Nope."
"Excuse me?"
"It's locked down too… she was the librarian as well. She … well… look. I can give you the password if you insist… hang on." He said, then answered the phone.
"Mayor Greene."
"Ayah. That's right. Yep. OK. Why? DO you think that… OK? That will work? OK" he placed the phone down and shrugged "Go over to the library and ask Milly to let you into the system. Look in …. Ah… the power dis badger... all lower case. Of course… most of the town is on those E-Book things, the internet ya know. They don't all have library cards."
They stared at him and then left, confiding in one another that this place just gets weirder by the day. The Mayor sat back and pondered the phone call. Just what was that boy up to.

THE CONVERSATION
"Mayor Greene."
"Hey bud, it's Jack. are the Men in Black there?"
"Ayah."
"Wanting a list of townsfolk by any chance?"
"That's right."
Jac sighed "wanna fuck with them?"
"Yep."
"You OK is we fuck up your computer then? We will fix it later, put it all back good as new but for now… I have a little blossom here that want to mess with them a bit."
"OK. Why?"
"Because the thing that if they can catalogue everyone, they can work out who is the odd one out. Find Eddie" Jack examined.
"DO you think that… OK? That will work?"
"Toshiko was top of her class… I think she can swing her dick better than they can swing theirs."
"OK"

"You what?"
"Mayor Greene said to ask Millie for access to the system."
She blinked slowly at the two idiots and then said "Well… I don't know how to do that. She's in the Big Smoke."
"Alright. Then... we want all the Plane People back on the planes they came from and all the townsfolk currently here to return to their houses so we can do a house by house sweep to find…"
"No."
"Excuse me?"
"Look here boy, I don't know what you lot are up to, and I do not like the fact we are all under some sort of arrest or something, this bubble keeping us here is crappolla and we all know it!" the Mayor's sister snarled "We are NOT disturbing our daily life for you!"
Slender Man open and closed his mouth, looing around like he might find something to beat the woman over the head with, then with a growl of annoyance he stormed off.
Milly turned to her assistant who was stood beside her before they entered the library and said "I've had enough of this shit. Where are they now?"
"At their house."
"Right."
They headed off for Ianto's place with faces full of determination.
