I don't own Kingdom Hearts or Batman. They belong to DC, Disney, and Square Enix, a much shorter chapter today. Nothing too crazy but I hope everyone enjoys it nonetheless. Now before we begin, let's reply to some reviews...
Gamelover41592: Glad you enjoyed it and I'm also glad you enjoyed a certain moment in the last chapter. It was definitely worth a good laugh! XD
VaderSkywalker: Okay, it's been a while since I watched the Arrow show so thanks for that. And it's understandable how you forgot but the way Jason, Sora, and Ace have been traveling worlds. It's been away but they've been using the World Between Worlds from Star Wars Rebels. It's what Ezra used to save Ashoka from Vader and the Emperor wanted it so Ezra destroyed it. Thrawn someone managed to rebuild... how? The reason is unknown but it is still damaged due to Ezra so the Empire can only use it to travel from worlds between the present and twelve years from now. That's why the Frozen cast are adults and the Lion King are still cubs. Arendelle takes place at would have been KH3 and the Pridelands take place around the present. Hope that makes sense.
twilightnite13: Well, you'll see who it is when we get there. You'll see when we get around the second world of the story. As the Lion King situation, it's more so what the Empire is doing than what our heroes are doing. If anything, it starts up the spark of the friendship between Sora and Simba when they meet in KH1.
Flirt48: Interesting theory. Stick around to see if you are right.
And with that out of the way, let's start the chapter! Enjoy!
Chapter 8: Plans in Motion
"We apologize for our Prince's behalf," A dignitary from the Southern Isles apologized to Kai, "Should he show his face again, we say what his twelve big brothers have to say in his choice of alliances."
"Arendelle thanks you, my lord," Kai smiled in appreciation.
Kai turned the Duke and his guards were being escorted by some Arrendelle guards onto his ship. The Duke complained, "This is unacceptable. I'm a victim of fear. I've been traumatized."
He held his neck and pretended to be in pain, "Ah! My neck hurts. Is there a doctor that I could see? No?"
He finally realized that no one was buying the act, "And I demand to see the Queen! Her ruffian detective could kill my guard on that mountain!"
Kai stepped down behind him, "Oh, I have a message from the Queen." He then pulled out a scroll and read, "Arendelle will henceforth and forever no longer do business of any sort with Weaseltown."
"'Weselton.' It's Weselton!" The guards drag him up onto the ship...
Anna runs through the crowd towards the village square pulling a blindfolded Kristoff behind her, "Come on, come on, come on! Come on, come on, come on. Come on..."
"Ow! Okay, okay, here I come." Kristoff shook his head in amusement before she unintentionally pulled him into a pole. He groaned in pain, "Pole!"
"Whoops! Sorry." She dragged him to a spot by the docks.
"Okay, okay. Here we are." Anna beamed before her eyes widened as she realized she had forgotten he was still wearing the blindfold, "Oh!"
She removed it as Kristoff saw a brand new sled as Anna explained, "I owe you a sled."
"Are you serious?" Kristoff stared in shock and awe.
With that Anna beamed in response, "Yes! And it's the latest model."
Sven poses in front of the sled as Kristoff shook his head, "No. I can't accept this."
"You have to. No returns. No exchanges. Queen's orders. She's named you the Official Arendelle Ice Master and Deliverer." Anna explained as Sven shows off the medal around his neck.
Kristoff raised an eyebrow, "What? That's not a thing."
"Oh, sure it is." Anna nodded, "And it even has a cup holder." She then asked nervously, "Do you like it?"
"Like it? I love it!" He sweeps her off her feet and spins her around, "I could kiss you!" There was then an awkward embarrassed silence before he placed her back on her feet, "I could. I mean, I'd like to. I'd... May I? We me... I mean, may we? Wait, what?"
Anna stepped forward and kissed him on the cheek, "We may."
He smiled and kissed her on the lips...
Olaf runs excitedly through the village square with his little snow cloud following him above his head, "Summer!"
He notices some flowers, "Ooh... Hello."
He bent and took a long sniff of the flowers pulling up some of the pollen up his nose which made him sneeze and launched his carrot nose straight into Sven's mouth who slurped up the rest of it. Olaf began to feel distraught at being noiseless again when suddenly Sven stuffed the carrot back into Olaf's face. He laughed in relief and hugged Sven in gratitude. While being hugged the reindeer tried to lick a snowflake from the snowman's personal snow flurry...
"Are you sure you won't stay a few days longer?" Elsa asked the detective as he packed up the rest of his gadgets, "The gates are open to all now, so you wouldn't be intruding."
"I appreciate the hospitality and the pardon," Jason smiled at her as he picked up his helmet, "But you know what Grand Pabbie said. As long as even one of Thrawn's Imperial bases is operational, Sora will be constantly overwhelmed by his visions and powers. We have to keep moving."
"Well, I can't say I didn't try," Elsa smiled sadly as she lightly played with her fingers, "But before you go, I do have something for you and Sora."
She then picked up a bag, "Here. I was able to gather some more gender-appropriate toys for Sora and nonperishable foods for your journey."
Jason smiled as he examined the bag of goods, "That's very thoughtful for you."
"That's not all," The Queen spoke up getting his attention as she presented him with a full sack, "Here."
Taking it, he opened it up and saw it was filled with gold and jewels. He asked her, "What's this for?"
"Well, I hired you for your services, didn't I?" She smiled at him, "You revealed that Hans is working for the Empire and you dealt with their presence here in Arendelle."
"I was just doing my duty, and Hans managed to escape," The former Robin pointed out as he tried to return the riches, "You don't need to..."
She lightly declined the return, as she told him, "You'll catch him eventually. I know you will. But I know this journey won't be an easy one and not all will be welcoming to people with powers such as us... which I'm still in shock that you had powers all this time..."
"Honestly, I never knew I had them either," He confessed as he showed her the mist. Other than Sora, Kristoff was the only one who witnessed Jason's rage after Anna... when they thought they had lost her... and his power. When he brought it up to the sisters, he could remember the looks on their faces.
"Something to do with your curse," The Queen presumed.
"Perhaps," He admitted as he closed his fist, as Elsa placed a gentle hand on it, making it vanish.
"Back to the topic at hand, you could use the money," Elsa recalled as she gestured to the child who was finishing his meal while Ace was mauling on a turkey bone. She told him, "When all is said and done if you really do plan on raising him, he needs a roof over his head, a good education, food... all of which requires money. Please, accept on his behalf."
Jason sighed before accepting the payment, "Thank you, Elsa..." Putting the gold and jewels away, he asked the islander boy, "Sora? You finished?"
"Yes, Uncle Jason," He nodded as he got off the table and wiped off his hands with a napkin.
Getting a look from Elsa, he muttered, "I told him he can stop calling me that."
"I find it rather sweet," She smiled at him, "He sees you as family." She then called out to her sister, "Anna! Jason, Sora, and Ace are leaving. If you want to say goodbye, now's the time!"
The boy ran up to them as Anna entered the room followed by Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven. She swept up the boy off his feet, "Oooooh! I'm going to miss you!"
"Aw," Olaf frowned, "You guys are really leaving?! This is goodbye?!"
"They have to keep moving, the Empire may have gone from Arendelle but they still have plenty of bases out there, and they won't rest until they get what they want," Kristoff told the snowman, "We might not be seeing them for a while."
"Oh, are you kidding? Sora's allowed to come back whenever he wants!" Anna beamed as she pulled the boy in a tighter hug. She then quickly added, "Same goes for you and Ace, Jason."
"Appreciate it," He nodded to the Princess.
"She's not wrong," Elsa smiled at Jason surprising him with a peck on the cheek causing his face to turn red, "You're welcome back here any time you wish. Contact me, and I'll make the arrangements and everything."
"Uh... yeah... uh... will do," The detective blinked as he rubbed the spot where she kissed him. He quickly cleared his throat, "Anyway, I'll contact some of my old friends and... well, you may not need as much help as you once did but..."
"Jason..." Elsa nodded with a faint blush of her own while ignoring the overhyped sister smiling in the corner, "Thank you... for everything..." She then proceeded to hug Sora, "You too Sora. If you're ever troubled, I will be there for you and Jason in a heartbeat."
"Ace too?" Sora gestured to the Bathound.
"Of course," She nodded, "Ace too." Lightly brushing his hair, before giving him one last hug, "Stay safe out there."
When she finally let go, everyone said their goodbyes to the three as Sora went along with Jason and Ace before Anna called out to the detective, "Jason..." He turned to her, "I hope you'll figure things out with your own family."
"Yeah," He nodded in appreciation, "Me too..." He then placed out his helmet as he told the boy, "C'mon, bud. We've got a long way to go." He then reached for a device on his ear, "Bridger, mission accomplished. I'll signal you when we're outside the Kingdom."
Elsa stood still as she watched the three leave, even after they were no longer in sight. Soon enough, Anna waved her hand in front of her siter's face, "Hello. Elsa. You still with us or were you visiting Jason-land?"
Finally facing her sister, she turned to her in confusion, "Jason-land?"
"Uh, don't think I didn't see that kiss back there," Anna smug teasingly, "It's obvious you like him! And he likes you!"
"Anna..." Elsa shook her head.
"Okay, I'm not saying it's true love," She reassured her sister, "Not yet at least... but it could be. You've been staring there non-stop ever since he, Ace, and the most adorable little boy left."
"It's not what you think, it's-ummm..." The Snow Queen shook her head before thinking of an excuse, "I'm worried... about Sora, I mean!"
"Uh-huh," Anna crossed her arms with a smug look.
"Look, I'm sure there's still a ton of those Imperial Bases out there, and as long as their still active Sora's powers will continue to overwhelm him," She tried to convince her sister, her eyes then widened with actual concern, "...and what if he has another vision... Jason and Ace would be completely helpless to help him..."
"Look, if you want to join them until you think everything's okay, it's alright..." Anna reassured her.
"No! No..." The Queen of Arendelle shook her head, "I've spent over the last decade shutting you out, we are going to catch up for all of the lost time." She then forced a smile, "They will be fine! They'll figure this out!"
"Okay..." Anna shrugged, "If you say..."
"Actually, Kristoff, can I borrow Sven?" Elsa turned to Anna's boyfriend, "I just want to make sure that they make it out of okay..."
"Uh... sure...?" Kristoff blinked in shock.
"There it is!" Anna smiled with her arms crossed.
"But I'll only be go for a moment! A half an hour tops!" She told her sister as she led the reindeer outside the castle, "I am not going on a crazy long adventure with Jason..."
"Never said you were!" Anna smirked as she watched her sister follow the same path as the detective, "But if you were I'm perfectly capable of watching Arendelle until you get back! Oh, and I promise to not leave it in the hands of jerky Imperial!" Her eyes widened in as she just remembered something as she tossed her something, "Oh, and take our mother's rosary in case you run into that vampire guy!"
"I'm sure you are, I know you will keep that promise, and we still don't know he's actually a vampire but I'll take it," Elsa called out to her as she caught the rosary, "But that won't be necessary because I will be right back!"
"Sure, you will," Anna nodded in disbelief.
"I WILL!" The Queen promised, "I love you!"
"Love you too!" Anna waved to her, "I will see you when you get back!"
With that, Elsa whispered to Sven while trying to convince herself, "Come on! Let's just make sure Jason and the others get out okay... then we're heading right back."
Sven groaned in response as the Queen hopped on his back as she rode him after the three visitors of Arendelle...
"Yeah, I'm going to let everyone know that Elsa's going to be gone for a bit," Anna told Kristoff and Olaf as she walked away.
"Okay!" The snowman beamed before glancing between her and where Elsa left, "...why? She said she'll be right back."
"Yeah, but I know she'll go with them." The Princess nodded.
"And you're okay with that? After chasing her up the North Mountain and nearly getting killed," Kristoff raised an eyebrow of suspicion, "You're just going to let her walk away again."
"It's different this time, besides, I want Elsa to be happy and Jason's a good guy," Anna smiled to the Official Arendelle Ice Master and Deliverer, "Plus if they end up adopting Sora then I can be his Auntie, and she can convince Jason to stay with us, and help make peace with his family! Everyone wins!"
"Right..." Kristoff nodded, now understanding what Anna wanted.
"Hey, I've waiting this long for her," The Princess declared with a smile, "I can wait a little bit longer..."
"So, she'll be back with Sora, Jason, and Ace?!" Olaf beamed, "I'm okay with that!"
"Oh, yeah, she'll be back before we know it!" Anna proudly declared. Unfortunately for her, little did everyone know, Queen Elsa would not return to Arendelle for a very long time...
Arendelle
Meanwhile, back on the Grand Admiral's flagship, the Imperial Officer lead the two Stormtroopers carrying a bruised Hans to the Grand Admiral himself. He stood at attention, "Sir, he's here."
Thrawn lowered the book he was reading before turned to the officer as he nodded, "Good work, commander. Why don't you get our medics to treat our guest?"
"Right away," The officer bowed as he left the room.
Hans groaned as he regained consciousness, his eyes widened in recognition, "You..."
"Ah, your highness, welcome to my flagship," Thrawn smiled at the Prince, "I trust you had a safe trip here."
Hans gently shoved the Troopers to the side as he stumbled to stand, "Just give me some reinforcements... Arendelle can still be ours..."
"I regret to inform you that I won't," Thrawn revealed much to the Prince's disbelief, "Our base there served its purpose, sending more troops there would be a waste."
"B-but you promised I would be king," Hans started at him looking betrayed, "WE HAD A DEAL!"
"That was providing that you could keep the base safe," Thrawn reminded him, "...and bring me the boy alive. Both tasks... you've failed spectacularly."
"It wasn't my fault!" He exclaimed as his eyes narrowed, "It wasn't for that know-it-all detective, I would have succeeded! And that brat had me nearly trampled to death not once, not twice, not even thrice... but FOUR TIMES BY DANCING SINGING ANIMALS FROM AFRICA!"
"Oh, you misunderstand, your highness," Thrawn helped him up and brushed off his coat, "I am pinning the blame solely on you..."
"Huh?" Hans blinked.
"The Red Hood is such a fascinating adversary, I've been studying him and those like him for quite some time," The Grand Admiral smiled, "He succeeded pushing back an Imperial Base alone while the Rebellion... now under the guise of the New Republic... had failed. I'd be disappointed if he failed so soon."
"You sound like you admire him," Hans commented.
"In many ways, yes," He nodded, "From what information I've gathered from his world, I admire his intelligence, strength, skills, and determination... it's not often I come upon such a worthy foe..."
He then glanced out the window, setting down the book he was reading on his desk, as he observed the stars out the window along with the Imperial Fleet, "...just as so, I'm willing to give you another chance, your highness... Help me complete Operation Kingdom and I'll give you what you desire most... the Empire will make sure you're next encounter with the Red Hood, you'll be more prepared..."
Snapping his fingers, several Stormtroopers provided him with suitcases and opened them to show his new gear. Staring at the gear, he turned to the Grand Admiral as he wondered, "What's so special about that one boy with powers?"
"Oh, that boy is far more special than you know," Thrawn smirked as he lightly touched the book he was reading: 'The Book of Prophecies.' He turned to him, "Give him to me, and I'll show you what makes him special but first..." He leaned in to Hans, "Tell me everything you learned about our mutual friend... the Red Hood."
After a moment of silence, he stated, "When I met him, he went by a different name... Jason Todd..."
Thrawn's smirk grew as he listen in on every detail...
Back on Jason's world, Bruce Wayne met up with his mild mannered reporter friend, Clark Kent. Finally, explaining the events with his encounter with Jason, "I could never stop fighting to protect them from themselves... to protect them from me."
After a brief moment of silence, Clark took a deep breath and quoted, "We only come to know the true power of evil, when we work to suppress it in ourselves."
Bruce raised an eyebrow, "You know, when you say spooky stuff like that, justifies my contingency plans to defeat you."
"All I'm saying is, Bruce," The disguised kryptonian replied, "...is that you're the strongest person I know. Not because of the monsters you fight on the outside, but the demons you battle on the inside." He gestured to him, "You're willingness to open up to me about this... Well, that shows real strength." He lightly smirked, "And the day you stop reaching out for this support is the day I know I need to activate my contingency plan for you."
That got a very faint chuckle out of the World's Greatest Detective, Clark then gave him a serious look, "We'll find Jason. Together." He then began look for a waitress as he raised a hand to signal her over, "Right after I find the check."
"Thank you, Clark," Bruce nodded as he stood up, "And I paid the tab before you arrived."
"But how did-" The Man of Steel blinked in shock.
"You order the same thing every time." Bruce pointed out.
Clark stunned look became an amused one, "Even over dessert you have to be two moves ahead? Really?"
As the two walked out of the dinner, as Bruce stated, "Jason's not the only reason I wanted to speak to you." Pulling out his phone, he began to open up his access to the Bat Computer, "A week ago, I was dealing with the Riddler, a silent alarm went off at the Gotham City Museum... the men responsible claimed to heavily armed and weaponized men..."
"Intergang?" Clark blinked in shock, "I didn't realize they were dumb enough to operate within your city... or stoop themselves so low into stealing museum exhibits..."
"They didn't," Bruce told him as he revealed the images of the men, "Whoever these men were, they were far from average criminal..."
Clark observed the photos, as he slide along side the photos and noticed the men were all dead. He quickly realized, "Jason's handy work?"
"Yes, he was there, attempting to stop the heist by any means," The Dark Knight admitted grimly, "From what the security footage showed, their leader managed to get away with an exhibit. Jason went after their leader, but only to be sucked in the portal he made his escape in..."
"Boom-Tube?!" Superman's eyes widened, "You don't think..."
"It couldn't have been Darkseid," Batman reassured him as he rewound the footage to reveal the device of the criminal's arm, "This man didn't use a MotherBox... not to mention... all of the men killed were human..."
"True, the closest thing Darkseid uses that even resembles human is his furries," The Kryptonian involved, "The goons he usually sends to Earth are Parademons... and not such a low scale.."
"But from their built and cut," Bruce deduced, "Suggests they were ex-military... but not from Earth. None of the soldiers could be identified from anywhere on Earth."
"Why show this to me?" The reporter wondered.
"I fear Jason might have took a took on a bit more than he could handle," Bruce stated with his eyes narrowing, "We could be dealing with a new enemy with an innumerable amount of those soldiers..."
"Possible incursion?" Clark raised an eyebrow, "You think what happened at the museum was a test?"
"...and Jason's caught in the middle of it," Bruce nodded as he lowered his phone, "I need your help identifying who we're dealing with, before we alert the rest of the League."
"Well, I suppose there's always a chance the Fortress could identify the armor," Clark nodded, "Alright, send it right over..."
"Nightwing is already on route," He revealed, "We just need to suit up."
Clark shook his head in amusement, "You knew I'd say yes."
"I had good hunch," Bruce admitted, "Sometimes you can be too predictable."
The kryptonian chuckled as he removed his glasses as they entered a dark alley, "Just another job for the World's Finest."
Opening his collared shirt, he revealed the House of El symbol on his chest, the symbol of Superman. Bruce added, "We may need to hurry though..."
He then showed another image, a destroyed machine, "This was checking out the situation the soldiers were in..."
"Did Jason do that?" Clark Kent, now changed into Earth's Greatest Champion, Superman wondered.
"None of Jason's arsenal match the cut made on this machine," Bruce revealed as he activated the Batwing over their heads, "The cut was done by a sword... a well trained swordsman that didn't want to be seen..."
Meanwhile, in the secret lair of the League of Assassins, Ubu and Taila approach the Head of the Demon, as the two bowed to him. The former stated, "Master... you were right... the men of Gotham were not of this world..."
"Jason Todd was on the scene but he vanished without a trace," The daughter of leader of the League revealed, "How should we proceed?"
After a long moment, Ra's al Ghul stood from his seat, as he replied, "Prepare the Assassins for war, I will search for the boy myself..."
"Father?" Talia blinked in disbelief as Ubu gasped in shock.
"Trust me, my dear," He walked past the two, "This is a matter I need to see done... personally... No one else of this world can..."
"This isn't true love, I am just making sure, Jason, Sora, and Ace leave Arendelle okay..." Elsa muttered to herself as she rode on the back of Kristoff's reindeer slash best friend, "It's perfectly normal be concerned for the well being for friends and boy you see like a son that you've met not more than a week ago, right?"
Sven groaned in response as she gave him a mild glare, "Oh, what do you know?"
"Bridger... we're here..." Jason's voice spoke up from ahead causing Elsa to shush the reindeer as they slowed down.
She quickly hopped off the horse and peeked from behind a tree to listen in, she wondered who he was talking to...
"Great. I prepare a portal to my location." Bridger revealed before asking, "So you stopped the Empire and saved everyone from this Enteral Winter?"
"It was Princess Anna who did the saving, I just made sure everyone stayed alive," The former Robin admitted, as he pulled out a communication device, "Their leader got away, but Sora found a clue. I could use your help hacking into it though."
"I know some people that might be able to help with that," Ezra revealed as Sora and Ace stood beside the Red Hood, "Bring it over and we can check it out."
"Just make sure we actually get to you this time, I don't want to put the kid at risk more than I already have," Jason told him.
"Alright... opening the portal now..." The Jedi declared as the symbol of wolves around in a circle creating the portal, but the location to unknown.
"Okay, buddy, work your magic. Just like back on the islands," Jason nodded to the little islander. The boy looked between the portal and back to the Kingdom of Arendelle, he knelt to him, "Hey, you will see them again on day, but we need to keep moving if we want to catch the bad guy. Otherwise this will never end."
Sora put on a brave face and nodded. He stretched forth his has as the Keyblade flashed in appearance. Light swirled around the end of the Keyblade and shot a beam of light at the portal...
...the light temporarily blinded Elsa, but she shook it off quickly. Just enough to see Jason pick Sora up and enter the portal as the hound followed.
Running out of her hiding spot, she approached the still-opened portal, "Whoa..."
She had heard of how they arrived to Arendelle from Jason... but seeing it in action... it was a sight to behold. She took a step closer to it, lightly touching it with her finger...
...before it started to pull her in. The Queen's eyes widened, "Wha...?"
She tried pulling herself free but the portal only pulled her closer inside when suddenly, it yanked right in as she screamed. The only native to watch this was Sven, who made a sound that quite resembled, "Uh-oh..."
And that will conclude today's chapter. Just concluding the Frozen World Arc before we start the next one. Well, Thrawn knows Jason's real name, so will it be trouble or will it be okay considering the rest of his world thinks he's still dead?
And we got Bruce and Clark interact (based on the interactive Death in the Family movie) and now the World's Finest are doing their own investigation... but what's up with Ra's al Ghul? What does he know about all of this?
And upon returning to Ezra, our heroes are followed by a certain Queen of Arendelle... what will happen now? What will the clue lead to? How will Elsa react to being on another world? (Don't mention she's no longer in her time period.) Stay tuned and find out!
I hope you enjoyed the chapter! Be sure to leave a review. And if you haven't already, be sure to leave a fav. and follow to show your support. Until then, See ya real soon!
