Fairy Heroes Academia 8
The Council And The Ambush
"Tell us! Are you the amnesiac girls who are currently living with Recovery Girl!" A reporter thrust a microphone into Levy's face as she followed Lucy and Recovery Girl into the school. "Er… yes." Levy answered before Recovery Girl pulled her hand, "No need to answer if you don't want to dear."
"I figured it would be better to get it out there." Levy shrugged as they entered U.A. "Besides they were tame compared to Jason from Sorcerer Weekly, so cool!" Levy laughed as Lucy pouted remembering her experience with said reporter. 'And I thought Natsu was going to be romantic! Yeah, right… Ha!' Lucy giggled to herself as the three entered UA.
. . .
"Decent work on yesterday's combat training, you guys. I saw the video feeds and went over each of your team's results." Aizawa announced to the class. "Bakugo. You're talented. So don't sulk like a child over your loss, okay?"
"Yeah, whatever." Bakugo grunted. Levy fought the urge to turn around, thinking about the slightly vulnerable scene she and Lucy had eavesdropped on.
"Enjoy that win, Deku. You won't get another!" He lifted his head, his face angry as tears threatened to spill from his eyes, "I'm just getting started! Got that?! I'm gonna end up the number one hero no matter what!"
Levy shook her head refocusing on class, not wanting to distract herself from the class.
"And Midoriya. I see the only way you won the match was by messing up your arm again." He sighed, "You at least had a grasp on it during some of the fight. You need to work harder. And don't give me the excuse that you don't have control over your Quirk, because clearly you're learning. You can't keep breaking your body just to get the edge on someone."
"Your Quirk will be really useful when you get a better handle on it." Aizawa relented, causing Midoriya to beam brightly, "So show a little urgency, huh?"
"Let's get down to business. Our first task will decide your future." Aizawa said leaving the class on edge. 'Is it another Quirk test?' Was the general thought throughout the class.
"You all need to pick a class representative." Aizawa informed. The students all breathed a sigh of relief at his news, ready for at least some normal school stuff.
"Pick me, guys! I wanna be class rep!" Kirishima declared.
"I'll take it!" Kaminari chimed in.
"Yeah, you're gonna need me." Jiro added in.
"Someone with style would be best." Aoyama posed.
"I'm like, totally the right pick!" Mina cheered.
The class went wild, with mostly every student nominating themselves, happily looking forward to the recognition the title would bring. "Silence! Everyone, please!" Iida called over the ruckus.
The class quieted down and turned towards the spectacled teen, "The class representative's duty is to lead others. That's not just something anyone can do."
"You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore, the most logical way to fill this position is democratically." Iida's tone was laced with professionalism and seriousness, "We will hold an election to choose our leader!" He finished his declaration holding his hand high and slightly trembling.
"It's pretty obvious you want us to vote for you." Was the consensus of his classmates. "Is that really the best idea?" Kaminari questioned.
"We've only known each other for a few days, how do we know who we can trust?" Tsu asked.
"Besides everyone'll just vote for themselves." Kirishima pointed out. "Most people will." Iida agreed, "But that means whoever does receive multiple votes must truly be the most suitable person for the job."
He turned to their homeroom teacher, "It's the best way, right, sir?"
"Do what you want, just decide before my nap's over." Aizawa wasted no time flopping over in his sleeping cocoon. "Thank you for your trust!" He called as they all prepared for their voting session.
Election Results:
Lucy Heartfilia - 4
Levy McGarden - 3
Everyone else either had 1 or no votes at all.
"Wait are you serious? Me?" Lucy said in disbelief, not sure as to how she got so many votes. Bakugo was furious at the aspect of not winning, "How many of you voted for her?"
"What did you honestly think anyone was gonna vote for you?" Sero snarkily asked. "What did you just say?!" Bakugo yelled, turning to the other teen.
Ignoring the argument Levy leaned over and gave her friend a thumbs up, "Congratulations Lu!" Lucy smiled back bashfully, letting out a small giggle.
"Zero votes…" Iida mumbled to himself, "I feared this might happen, but I can't argue with the system I chose!"
"So you voted for someone else huh?" Yaoyorozu surmised. Iida nodded weakly, "I chose based off of performance, and I don't regret my decision…" Iida answered, although he was disappointed, he felt he made the right choice.
Lucy and Levy stood at the front of the room. "All right the class rep is Heartfilia, and our deputy is McGarden."
"Thanks for voting for us, uh as our first announcement we make is that we'd like you all to call us Lucy and Levy." Lucy smiled at their classmates. "We know it's customary in Japan to call us by our family names, but if you're gonna trust us to represent you, then we much rather you guys get comfortable and get to know us. Besides we feel a little homesick and miss hearing our names…" Levy muttered the last sentence.
Many of the students were pleased with this outcome, "This might not be so bad." Tsu said.
"Yeah I can get behind this I guess." Kirishima grinned.
"I heard Levy got the highest score on the written exam!" Kaminari added.
"Lucy and Levy, why I hope we get very comfortable with each other…" Mineta purred, staring the girls down. "You still have to call me Heartfilia!" Lucy rolled her eyes, "Now you'll have to earn it!"
'I never thought I'd want anyone to call me by my last name…' Lucy reflected, 'When I joined Fairy Tail I avoided it for so long… It's not so bad to hear anymore.'
. . .
The cafeteria was hustling and bustling with countless students. "It's always so crowded in here!" Uraraka noted as she dug into her food.
"That's because students in the support, management, and hero courses all share the same cafeteria." Iida explained as everyone continued to eat. Lucy and Levy opted to sit with Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida to get to know their classmates a bit better after being elected.
"This rice is delicious!" Uraraka smiled happily as she munched. "So Lucy are you excited to be class representative?"
Lucy paused from her soup, "Actually I am looking forward to it in a way. I've never been in a position like this. I just wonder how I ended up with so many votes, it's flattering. I didn't even vote for myself." Lucy admitted.
"What you didn't vote for yourself?!" Uraraka gaped, considering the amount of votes the blonde had, Lucy nodded, "I voted for Levy."
Levy laughed when she heard that, "And I voted for you, so we just cancelled each other out." Lucy and Levy shared a laugh at this outcome, before Iida chimed in.
"I also thought you'd do a fine job, with your intellect and strength it was an appropriate decision." Iida looked firmly into Lucy's eyes, "But it's the way you rushed in to help people that I chose you, saving Midoriya in the practical exam, and then Ashido in the training exercise. I chose you because of your courage and your heart."
Lucy felt herself moved, "Thank you so much, Iida, I was just trying to do the right thing. I know you wanted to win, and I'm sorry things didn't exactly work out your way." Iida nodded in recognition, he appreciated the sentiment, but it did sting a bit.
"I voted for you too Hea-Lucy." Midoriya raised his hand slightly, struggling with the intimate undertones of a given name, "To be honest with how you and Mc-Levy, tried to help me I wanted to vote for one of you, I went with Lucy because she saved me like Iida mentioned, I don't know how I ended up with a vote."
"I voted for you Deku!" Uraraka smiled happily, "Working with you had been fun, I thought you'd make a dependable leader!" Midoriya blushed heavily at her answer, "Thank you U-Uraraka!" He smiled back at her, though he was mentally freaking out, "No one's ever said something like that to me before."
"I'm a bit surprised you voted for Lucy, Iida. I thought you had wanted to be class rep." Deku mentioned.
"Wanting a job and being suited to it are quite different things." Iida took a sip from his drink, "Observing the Iida family's hero agency has taught me that much."
"Agency?" His friends all questioned immediately. "What exactly does your family do Iida?" Levy pressed further.
"Uh- Oh, it's nothing." Iida calmly dismissed.
"Y'know, I've been wondering something about you." Uraraka turned to him, "Admit it, Iida. You're filthy rich!"
Iida gasped at her declaration, "Uh- I was afraid people would treat me differently if they knew about my family." Uraraka, Midoriya, and Levy's gaze bore holes into the side of Iida's head. Lucy nodded in understanding remembering how long she hid her true identity and just went by only 'Lucy' for a time.
"You don't need to tell us if you don't want to Iida, we understand." Lucy assured him, despite their friends' continued stares.
"Thank you, Lucy. I suppose it's fine though. You see, the Iidas have been pro-heroes for generations. It runs in our blood." Iida explained.
"What? That's awesome!" Uraraka and Midoriya said in awe.
"Are you all familiar with the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?" Iida asked the group.
"I know all about him!" Midoriya flushed with excitement, "He's a super-popular pro with 65 sidekicks working alongside him at his Tokyo Agency!" Midoroya refocused on idea, "Don't tell me…"
"He's my elder brother!" Iida claimed proudly.
"You're family's famous!" Uraraka realized.
"I can't believe it!" Midoriya gasped in surprise.
"That's so cool, Iida!" Levy clapped.
"Ingenium is an unmatched commander who honors the hero code. As the second oldest Iida son, I strive to be just like him." Iida declared, "However, I think it might be a bit soon for me to be in a real leadership role."
He smiled at Lucy, "You for example. You figured out what the judges were looking for in the practical exam. A rep needs that sort of insight."
The other four students blinked in surprise. "That's the first time I've seen you smile, Iida. You should do it more!" Uraraka said.
"What're you talking about? I smile all the time!" He retorted firmly.
"You do have a nice smile, Iida." Lucy laughed, "But honestly I didn't know, I just did what I could to keep people from being hurt."
Iida was surprised at this outcome, "I see so it was instinct, that's still very admirable."
RIIIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIIIING!
An alarm blared out, interrupting many conversations and gaining the attention of the students.
"Warning Level Three security breach. All Students please evacuate the building in an orderly fashion." An announcer's voice rang out on the intercom.
"What's a Level Three security breach?" Iida asked a nearby student.
"It means that someone's managed to get past the school's barriers! This hasn't happened in my three years here. We should get going!" The upperclassman said frantically before rising from his seat and evacuating the area.
. . .
The hallways were crowded with students trying to exit the building. All squished together each person trying to escape their apparent threat.
"Stop shovin' so hard!" "Wait I'm getting trampled!""I said, stop pushin' me!"
Fear coursed through many of the student's bodies as they tried to push forward, not caring about who was around them and only wanting to escape. "Ow. This is a total mob!" Uraraka groaned, squished between the students.
"Everyone was quick to react. As I'd expect from U.A. students." Iida struggled to get out of his own confinement of students.
"Sure. But they're also causing a huge panic." Midoriya force out, before being swept away by part of the crowd, "Crap! I can't stop!"
"Godspeed, Midoriya!" Iida saluted, hoping for his friend's safety.
"Oh no, Deku!" Uraraka gasped.
"This is getting ridiculous!" Levy cursed as her small body was pushed around the crowd as well. She eventually found herself passed to a nearby window and peered outside. Finally getting a good look she spotted dozens of people with cameras, mics, and other equipment. "The trespassers are just the reporters from earlier!" Levy realized.
'The teachers must be too preoccupied with dealing with them to take control of this situation!' Levy thought to herself as she watched the students continue to struggle.
"Everyone stop freakin' out!" Levy heard Kirishima wail, just as he and Kaminari were pushed with the crowd's current.
"Ugh… Oh man, this is not… ideal." Lucy grunted as she was smushed between a couple of students. Levy suddenly felt slightly thankful for being so small, which meant she might be able to slip out of the gaggle of students more easily this way.
'I've seen Freed do this easily, hopefully, it works…" Jumping up in the air, Levy activated her magic. "Dark Écriture: Wings!" She wrote along her chest, catching people's attention as a dark purple energy emitted from her back and she sprouted wings.
Suddenly feeling thankful for choosing to wear tights under her skirt today, Levy fluttered to the front of the crowd and yelled, "Solid Script: STOP" A giant stop sign manifested before the crowd, catching everyone's attention.
"Listen up everyone! The trespassers are only the press!" Levy called out to the student body from high in the air. People were silent as they watched this girl's Quirk in action, many people were captivated by how her wings slightly glowed as they held the girl up. "And if this were a real emergency, everyone should be helping each other out instead of pushing for their own safety!"
Some students looked sheepish after she called out their behavior, "We should rely on each other to stay safe, we're a hero school, so let's represent what it means to be a… U.A. student!" Levy finished as the students watched her speak earnestly. Lucy smiled as she watched her friend calm the stampede, clearly proud of her efforts.
'I almost said we should represent what it means to be a Fairy Tail Wizard…" Levy sweatdropped but sighed in relief as the students became more passive.
"Look, the police are here!" A female student pointed out.
"Thank goodness." A male student chimed in nearby.
Lucy could only smile fondly as she watched Levy descend from the air, making her wings vanish when she safely landed on the floor. "Nice one Levy." She recalled what Iida had said earlier… "Wanting a job and being suited to it are quite different things." Lucy didn't need to debate it any further, she had her decision made.
. . .
Back in class after the Police properly dealt with the press, Lucy and Levy stood in front of the class once again to perform their duties as class reps.
"Okay everyone, we need to choose the other class officers." Lucy announced, as her classmates fixed their gaze on her. "But before that, I would like to say that I want to switch roles with Levy."
All of the students were confused as to why she wanted this outcome, "That's not all. Levy was right with her speech, we should all rely on each other, which is why I propose we make a council of sorts."
The class perked up as they listened to her speak, "I was thinking Levy acts as our President, I'll be her VP, Iida can be the Secretary, Yaoyorozu our Treasurer, and Midoriya as our Historian." She suggested, with the students nodding along, "Of course, we'd all be helping each other out and meeting up to discuss our responsibilities. If that's alright with everyone."
"Hm, that doesn't sound like a bad setup." Jiro nodded from her desk in approval.
"They all seem like they're dependable people." Tokoyami agreed, "I choose to trust Lucy's judgement."
"Just hurry up and stop wasting time." Aizawa spoke from his sleeping bag, "I don't care who's what, just settle it soon." He then laid limply.
"I'm honored you would choose me to be a part of this council. I'll do it." Yaoyorozu confirmed with a pleased smile.
"Lucy, if you're nominating me then I humbly accept!" Iida bowed to the girl, "Thank you for this opportunity."
"Haha, even m-me?" Midoriya said nervously, "I guess it wouldn't kill me to try." He smiled, "Yeah let's do our best!"
. . .
Some of the hero faculty gathered outside to view the area the reporters emerged from. They looked at their previously standing barrier that had been reduced to practically rubble. "How were ordinary members of the press able to bypass our security systems?" Principal Nezu mused to those present.
"Someone else must have been behind this." He theorized, "Some villain actually managed to infiltrate our school. But was this purely a show of power or a declaration of war?"
Recovery Girl's gaze narrowed on the exposed entrance, 'In all my years, people haven't been foolish enough to attempt something like this. But why? Could they be after One For All? …they couldn't be after the girls, no one knows about them, but…'
Shuzenji was occupied with her own thoughts, carrying so many secrets can lead to some paranoia. She deeply exhaled as she calmed herself from dwelling on it too hard. She cared deeply for the safety of all of her students, but having been taking care of Lucy and Levy for months she felt a special bond with the girls.
To ease her worries she knew what she had to do. "Nezu, we need to talk." She said seriously, she wouldn't divulge the full story without permission, but she could spare a few details.
. . .
"Lu, why did you want me to be class rep instead?" Levy inquired while they had the time. Lucy tapped her chin thoughtfully before answering, "When I watched you float up, it just made me proud. I want to keep watching you rise, Levy."
"Lu…" Levy's eyes began to water as she hugged her best friend.
Lucy hugged her back tightly, "...I also thought you'd enjoy doing the paperwork more than I would."
"You know, I wouldn't have minded doing the paperwork either…" Yaoyorozu chimed in, joining the fairy girls who broke up their hug. "I just wanted to thank you for including me once again."
"Oh yeah, no problem Yaoyorozu." Lucy responded.
"Please, call me Yaomomo. We'll be working together after all." Yaoyorozu smiled.
"Yaomomo? That's a cute nickname." Levy, commented with a playful look.
"I have to ask, why would you choose me?" Yaomomo asked.
"You just seem like you have a good head on your shoulders." Lucy answered honestly, "We'll all be doing our part to support each other, so let's make this a good year!" Lucy winked as the girl flushed a bit at the compliments, but nodded, "Right."
"If you don't mind me asking how long have you two known each other?" Yaoyorozu asked, "You two seem very close."
Levy and Lucy exchanged a look, "A couple of years now." Levy answered, "Some of them just seemed to fly by."
'Like 7 of them!' The girls thought to themselves, sweatdropping slightly.
The spiky-haired teen laughed good-naturedly, "Do you two normally look at each other before you talk?" She joked.
Levy and Lucy laughed nervously in response, not realizing they had been looking at each other more often than usual, "We're just not completely sure who remembered what." Lucy explained, scratching her cheek. "I guess we're just subconsciously checking in on each other."
"Oh, I didn't mean anything rude by it." Yaoyorozu covered her mouth in slight embarrassment, "If you don't mind me asking, do you know what may have caused this amnesia?" She asked.
The girls shook their heads, "We can't remember." Levy supplied, "We remember things like our friends, our home, and our family, but we can't recall the specifics, like where they're located."
Yaomomo nodded in slight understanding, "So assuming you two were left unharmed, we can rule out traumatic amnesia." Yaoyorozu rubbed her chin, "I'm inclined to say it's dissociative amnesia, where more specific things are forgotten in the mind."
"Wow Yaoyorozu, you sure know your stuff." Lucy commented, first their hero evaluations, then the medical classifications from the top of her head, this girl probably read as often as Levy.
Yaoyorozu flushed, "I read a lot for an understanding of my Quirk. I grew to love it and began to read some books unrelated to my Quirk, I figured reading some medical books would supply background knowledge for firstaid."
The fairy girls were both impressed with the teen's dedication. "Yeah Lu, you definitely found the right person fo the job." Levy affirmed, nodding in confirmation as she eyed their new classmate.
"You'll have to give us book recommendations, Levy's room back home was a practical library!" Lucy laughed, remembering her slightly traumatic visit to Fairy Hills. Levy's smile a faltered a bit, "I know they're just books, but I'm gonna miss them…" She noted sadly.
Yaoyorozu felt a twinge of sympathy for the girl, if she lost her collection of books she would be devastated too. "How about I let you both borrow some of my books to read while you build back up your collection."
Levy's eyes sparkled at the idea, "If you're sure, I might actually take you up on that offer!" She smiled, "I promise they'll be returned in the condition you send them in." Levy swore as she gazed intently at the girl.
"They might come back in even better condition." Lucy cracked a smile, as she giggled at Levy's small blush. Levy laughed despite feeling somewhat exposed, "Speaking of books, our very own Lucy here has been wanting to write her own novel." Levy's eyes twinkled once more, "She promised I'd be the first one to read it!"
"That's a very respectable goal you've set for yourself." Yaomomo remarked, "I hope I'll get to read it someday as well." Lucy's face reddened as she agreed, "It's in very rough stages and I lost what I originally wrote, but this country, this school, it's been inspiring me so much."
"Enough talking." Aizawa's voice commanded, "Class has started, get to your seats." Aizawa droned out as the chattering ceased and the students each rushed to their assigned seats.
Aizawa stood at his usual place in front of the class. "Today's training will be a little different. You'll have three instructors. Me, All Might, and another faculty member will be keeping tabs on you." The teacher explained.
The class gasped to hear that three instructors would be joining them for an exercise. It seemed a bit overkill. 'Three pros? Is that because of the break-in?' Midoriya thought to himself.
Levy tapped her chin thoughtfully, wondering which pro would be joining them for this training. Her thoughts were interrupted by Sero, "Sir! What kinda training is this?" He raised his hand.
"Rescue." The teacher answered without missing a beat, he held up a card that said 'Rescue' as well. "You'll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, stuff like that."
The students began to chatter amongst themselves.
"Disasters, huh? Sounds like we're in for a big workout." Kaminari commented.
"Totally!" Mina agreed, enthusiastically.
"Real hero stuff." Kirishima leaned forward, "This is what separates the men from the boys." He clenched his fists gleefully, "I'm shakin' with excitement!"
Lucy giggled, "Time to show what we're made of!" She looked at the back of her hand where her pink guild mark was, "We got this."
"Finally, I'll get to show how good I am in the water. Ribbit." Tsu smiled eager at the challenge ahead of her.
"Guys, I'm not finished yet." Aizawa's annoyed tone drawled out, the students gasped and quickly silenced themselves. "What you wear in this exercise is up to you. I know you're excited about costumes…" He clicked on a remote control, and the panels holding their costumes extended from the wall.
"...but keep in mind that you haven't gotten used to them yet, and they might limit your abilities." Aizawa turned back to the students, "This special training's at an off-campus facility, so we'll be taking a bus to get there." He informed as he walked off, "That's all. Start getting ready."
The class moved without hesitation, not needing further instruction. They each happily grabbed their costumes and made their way to the changing rooms to get ready, not wanting to leave their teacher waiting.
. . .
Everyone stood comfortably outside, each wearing their costumes, except for Midoriya who was wearing his PE outfit. "Deku? Why are you wearing your PE clothes?" Uraraka approached Midoriya. 'Where's your costume at?"
Deku looked bashful, "You saw it after combat training. It was kinda trashed." He explained to the girl, as Levy, Lucy, and Yaoyorozu slapped the back of Mineta's head for enjoying Uraraka's skintight outfit too much. "I'm still waiting on the support company to fix it up."
A loud whistle caught the class' attention, Iida proudly stood by the bus, "Gather around, Class 1-A!" He ordered, "Using your student numbers form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently." He continued to blow his whistle.
"Iida took you really seriously when you asked him to help organize us." Lucy sweatdropped at Levy who had asked for the boy's help in order to make things go more smoothly.
Levy laughed nervously, "At least he's not slacking off or anything."
Everyone lined up and loaded onto the bus and they were off! Thanks to Iida's plan running perfectly… Except he didn't account for the bus not having seats lined up by rows. They all sat down nonetheless.
"The bus's open layout ruined my boarding strategy." Iida grumbled sadly from where he sat across from Lucy.
"Iida, you really need to chill." Mina smiled at the armored teen.
"She has a point Iida, we all made it on without any major issues." Lucy shrugged.
"If we're pointing out the obvious, then there's something I wanna say…" She turned her head to the right where Midoriya sat, "About you, actually." She stated.
"About me?" What is it, Asui?" Midoriya blushed.
"I told yout to call me Tsu." She reminded.
"Oh. Yeah, right." His blush only deepened, not used to attention from girls still.
"That power of yours. Isn't it la lot like All Might's?" Tsu asked bluntly, causing Lucy to lean in, only being on the other side of Midoriya. "What? Really? You think so, huh?" Midoriya yelped nervously. "I never really thought about that. I guess it's kinda similar…" He began to ramble, causing Lucy's eyebrow to raise in slight suspicion as she remembered his conversation with Bakugo outside the school.
"You'll see. I'll work until I have more control of this borrowed Quirk." Midoriya had declared to Bakugo before… Lucy narrowed her eyes at the nervous teen as Kirishima chimed in.
"Wait, hold on, Tsu." Kirishima said, "You're forgetting All might doesn't hurt himself. That makes a huge difference." He reminded, causing Midoriya to sigh in relief. "Still, I bet it's cool to have a simple augmenting-type of Quirk." Kirishima happily mentioned, "You can do lots of flashy stuff with it."
He raised his arm, "My Hardening's super strong and can destroy bad guys in a fight." His arm became jagged and rigid as it hardened, "But it doesn't look all that impressive." He noted.
"Oh, no way, I think it's really awesome looking." Midoriya immediately interjected, "You're definitely pro material with a Quirk like that."
Lucy nodded beside him, "I'm sure you'll be able to help a lot of people with a Quirk like that."
"You really think so?" He grinned happily at his hardened hand, "Seems like it'd be easier to be a popular hero if I had something flashier like yours Lucy. That's like the definition of flashy."
"My Navel Laser's got the perfect combination of panache and strength." Aoyama added proudly.
"But it's way lame if it gives you a stomachache, sweetie." Mina placed a comforting hand on his shoulder as he sulked.
"Well if any of our classmates got pro Quirks, it's Todoroki, Bakugo, and Levy." Kirishima glanced at the back half of the bus where the three were sitting.
Bakugo leaned looking out the window, ignoring everyone around him waiting for the bus to arrive at the location only twitching slightly at Kirishima's comment. Todorki sat behind him, eyes closed most likely napping. Levy sat beside him, her face buried within a book as she seemed to flip seamlessly through the pages.
"Sure, but Bakugo's always angry, so he'll never be that popular." Tsu replied honestly, causing said spiky-haired explosion teen to stand in anger, "Uh, what'd you say? I'll kick your ass!"
Levy giggled slightly at his antics, as Tsu pointed at him, "You see?"
"Y'know, we basically just met you. So it's kinda telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage." Kaminari smugly piped up.
"Whoa, that's kinda harsh Kaminari." Levy shook her head, "We just met the guy, and sure he's rough around the edges, but you can't just call him garbage. That's just rude." Levy chastised.
"You're gonna regret the day you applied to this school, you loser!" Bakugo roared at the electric teen in retaliation.
"Bakugo." Levy said sternly, "Don't escalate the situation. Just prove to him why you're here." She said before raising her voice slightly, "Let's all remember why we're here alright you guys?"
"Well said." Aizawa nodded, glad that she cut off the argument and a source for a headache, "We're here. No more messing around."
"Yes, sir." The students replied, besides Bakugo who just grumbled, "Whatever."
. . .
A woman in a puffy white space suit complete with a black helmet with white eyes and yellow boots greeted the students as they approached the facility. "Hello, everyone, I've been waiting for you!"
The students gasped as they studied her appearance, "It's the Space Hero, Thirteen! The chivalrous pro who's rescued a ton of people from across the hero!" Midoriya fanboyed.
"I've read about her!" Levy nudged Lucy, "You're sorta like a space hero yourself, huh?" Levy commented. Lucy laughed and shrugged lightly, "I guess you could say that."
"Thirteen is one of my favorite heroes!" Uraraka cheered.
"I can't wait to show you what's inside!" Thirteen gestured for them to follow her into the facility.
"This is gonna be awesome!" The students optimistically stated, following along and entering the ginormous building. They marveled at the sight of it, looking at the several different structures and areas.
"Holy crap! It looks like some kind of amusement park!" Kirishima commented upon inspection.
"A shipwreck. A landslide. A fire. A windstorm. Et cetera-" Thirteen threw her arms up as she described the areas, "I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. But, you can call it, USJ!" She happily supplied.
Lucy and Levy clapped happily while the rest of the class stared with wide eyes, 'Just like Universal Studios Japan.'
"Hey, shouldn't All Might be here already?" Aizawa asked Thirteen, "Lemme guess, he booked an interview instead."
"Actually it's something else." Her voice lowered as she stepped toward her fellow instructor, "Apparently he did too much hero work on the way to school this morning and used up all his power. He's resting in the teacher's lounge." She explained.
Aizawa rolled his eyes, "That man is the height of irresponsibility." He shifted his gaze, 'Well, we should be okay with just the two of us.' He thought to himself, calmly. "The clocks ticking. We should get started."
"Excellent." Thirteen agreed, "Before we begin, let me just say one thing." She said to the class, "Well, maybe two things. Possibly three, four, or five." She quickly added.
"We get it!" The class grew impatient.
Thirteen raised her left hand slightly, "Listen carefully. I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful Quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust." Thirteen aka Anan Kurose explained.
"Yeah, you've used Black Hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before, haven't you?" Deku asked as Uraraka ferociously nodded beside him.
"That's true, but my Qurik could also very easily be used to kill." Kurose calmly informed, much to the shock of the students. "Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. In our superhuman society, all Quirks are certified and stringently regulated so we often overlook how safe they can actually be."
"Please don't forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly. Even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone." Thirteen stressed. "Thanks to Aizawa's fitness tests, you have a solid idea of your Quirk's potential. And because of All Might's combat training, you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people."
Lucy, Mina, and Koda were all thinking of the incident at training when Mina had almost fallen and had known what the teacher meant. Thirteen continued, "Carry those lessons over to this class. Today you're going to learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives."
"You won't be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all, that's what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others. That's all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening." Thirteen bowed as she finished her inspirational speech.
The students all cheered as they felt the speech resonate with each of them, pumped at the idea of learning about a new facet of the hero world.
"Right." Aizawa called, "Now that that's over…"
The attention was pulled off of him as the lights in the facility began to spark and short circuit. The fountain in the center of the building shifted as a dark purple mist formed, a figure with glowing eyes could be seen before it shifted and expanded. A hand appeared reaching through the portal, a face obscured by a severed hand appeared, his one red, visible eye focused.
Aizawa acted fast, "Stay together and don't move!" He instructed his class, "Thirteen. Protect the students!" He ordered.
"Shouldn't we help sir?" Lucy raised her hand.
"You've all barely begun your training, our first priority is keeping you all safe." Aizawa urged. Lucy bit her lip, knowing she couldn't argue back, even if she did have experience taking down foes.
"Whoa, what is that thing?" Kirishima asked as more figures, each varying in size and appearance, stepped out of the portal. "Wait this isn't part of the training?" He asked as several students tried to get a closer look.
"Stay back!" Aizawa barked before cooly putting on his Eraser Goggles. "This is real. Those are villains." The teacher revealed, making many of the students nervous.
'This was supposed to be safe.' Lucy thought to herself, feeling fearful as she watched some of the more considerably scary-looking figures slink out of the portal. 'Bringing the fight to us…' Lucy remembered Fairy Tail's sacred ground and how it was infiltrated.
She steadied her breath, knowing that they probably wanted something, their goal couldn't be a bunch of kids. 'When Grimoire Heart invaded Tenrou Island, they did it for Zeref and to gain Fairy Law, could they be looking for something or someone?' Lucy tried to think but didn't have enough information to draw any conclusions.
"So you scumbags used the press as a cover and sneaked onto campus." Aizawa scoffed at the approaching villains, who continued their march forward.
"Where is he?" The guy with several dismembered hands across his body could be heard speaking, "I went through the trouble of bringing so many friends who're eager to meet him. They want All Might The great Symbol of Peace."
"I can't believe he's not here." He said disappointed, "Maybe if I kill a few kids, he'll come out to play."
"Real Villains? No way." Kirishima stated shocked, "How could so many of 'em get into a UA facility this secure?"
"Yeah, Thirteen." Yaoyorozyu stepped forward, "Why aren't the alarms going off?"
Thirteen glanced at the girl, "Good question. I'm not sure."
"Is the entire campus under attack? Or is this their only target?" Todoroki asked, yet continued, "Either way, if the alarm sensors aren't being triggered, then one of these villains must have a Quirk that's masking their presence here."
"They carefully chose this isolated facility as an entry point at a time when class was being taught." Todoroki noted, "They're fools for trespassing here, but they've thought this out. Whatever their plan, they must have a concrete objective in mind. But what is it?"
Many of the students grew even more uneasy as they listened to the half and half teen. Aizawa took charge, "Thirteen, get them outta here. And alert the main campus."
"Actually, if they've got the ability to block our sensors, then they might be jamming our regular communications, too." Aizawa figured, "Kaminari, try using your Quirk to contact the school."
"Yes sir." Kaminari stated as he began to work on it.
"What're you gonna do? You can't fight them on your own!" Midoriya asked, "There's too many of them. Even if you can nullify their Quirks, your fighting style's not suited for this." He stated.
Levy nodded in agreement, "Your Quirk works better in stealth and one-on-one fights. It won't have the same effect with a group." She added.
"You can't be a pro if you only have one trick." Aizawa replied cooly, "I'll leave it to you, Thirteen." And with that, he took off towards the villains.
A man with a helmet-like head and gun fingers noticed, "Shooting squad. Take your aim!"
A woman came up behind him, her hair extending out, "Thirteen and All Might out here? Who's that?"
A third towering heavyset fella, with stitches across his body, three horns, and a gas mask brought up the rear, "Don't recognize him, but if he thinks he can take us down easy, he's dead."
"Let's gun him down!" The three all said in unison as they prepared to attack.
Gun fingers' eyes widened as his fingers stalled, not firing, "My Quirk!"
"Where's my bullets?" Gas mask asked as he stared down at his hands.
The three had no time to get over their confusion as their powers failed them, finding themselves bound by Aizawa's cloth, with the man swinging them high up in the air before bringing them crashing together, their heads bonking, as they were knocked out simultaneously.
"Idiots! That's Eraser Head, a pro! He can cancel your Quirks just by looking at you." A villain informed his colleagues.
"Cancelling?!" Another villain called out, "Bet you can't erase a heteromorphic type like me, can you?" This villain had four arms and charged toward Aizawa, furiously jabbing at the man, who nimbly dodged.
"Yeah. You're right." He simply swung back at the villain his fist connecting with the man's face and sending him flying back into the air with a grunt. Aizawa sent his binding cloth towards the heteromorphic villain, "But a villain like you is only dangerous if you can reach me."
The cloth wrapped around the villain's ankle, and Aizawa bent backward to avoid an incoming punch from another bigger villain. "Good thing." He kicked the villain away as he rose back up, "I've taken measures to make sure that never happens." Aizawa slammed the heteromorphic villain to the ground.
"Now, which of you gutter punks is next?" Aizawa challenged, infuriating many of the villains who now stood glaring at the man in caution, not wanting to be taken out next.
A woman with a Quirk that turned her hair into drills activated her Quirk only to have her hair fall limp as Aizawa used another nearby villain to propel him forward and kick twin drills in the fair, before taking out the villain he used to propel him.
Aizawa continued his onslaught, grabbing a leech-like villain and disposing of him.
While their homeroom teacher was distracting the villains, the students followed Thirteen towards the exit of USJ.
Another large portal formed stopping the class in their tracks, "There is no escape for you." The shadowy figure from before called.
'Damn. I blinked and the guy who seems like the most trouble got away.' Aizawa kept his eye on his students as he continued to pick off the villains, moving to help them, only for the villains to block his way.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. We are the League of Villains." The portal, Kurogiri introduced, "I know it's impolite, but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say hello."
"And besides, isn't this a fitting place for All Might, the Symbol of Peace to take his last breath? I believe he was supposed to be here today, and yet I see no sign of him." Kurogiri observed, "There must've been some sort of change in plans we could not have foreseen."
"Ah, well, in the end, I suppose it doesn't matter. I still have a role to play." He said as the fingers to Thirteen's gloves opened as she prepared to use her Quirk, only to be caught off guard as Bakugo and Kirishima charged forward.
Kirishima swung his hardened arm and Bakugo followed up with an explosion, causing a cloud of dust to cover the area. "Did ya think we were just gonna stand around and let you tear this place to shreds?" Kirishima quipped.
Kurogiri's voice could be heard in the dust, "You live up to your school's reputation." His form shifted, blowing the dust away, "But you should be more careful, children. Otherwise, someone might get hurt."
"You two, get out of the way, right now!" Thirteen ordered, her finger extended, ready to use her Quirk to protect the children.
"I'll scatter you across this facility to meet my comrades and your deaths!" Kurogiri's form grew as multiple shadowy tendrils shot out and enveloped the class.
"What's going on?!" Lucy called as she shielded her face from the pressure.
Iida rushed forward as he tried to save whoever he could by speeding out of Kurogiri's range, unfortunately, many of his classmates seemed to have disappeared in the mist, their whereabouts unknown.
"What's going on?!" Iida gasped, as he gazed at the purple dome that had captured many of his classmates. He had only managed to grab Uraraka at the time, and he silently cursed himself for not being able to grab anyone else.
"Levy!" Lucy called as she reached for Levy.
"Lucy!" Levy's arm extended reaching frantically for her friend's hand, only for both of them to get sucked into separate portals.
. . .
Lucy struggled to squeeze through the entrance of the portal, escaping the misty purple confinement. 'Ugh… that felt like Minerva's magic…' Lucy shuddered as she felt herself hit the ground, she began rolling down the slanted floor, dragging her hand against the dirt as she slowed her descent down the simulated mountain.
'This must be the landslide zone.' She thought to herself as she studied the cluster of broken buildings at the bottom of the mountain. She looked around hoping to find an exit so she could regroup with her class.
A purple portal stole her gaze as a familiar figure fell from the portal. Expertly bracing himself for the fall, he landed stylishly, his half and half hair shifting slightly as he landed. Lucy couldn't be more relieved to see her classmate.
"Todoroki!" She called, jogging over to the boy, who shifted his gaze to her. "We need to figure out a way out of here!"
Todoroki nodded, "Right." But before either of them could make another move, Kurogiri had opened more portals, with villains taking menacing steps toward the pair, leering at them as they thought of the easy pickings.
"Oh no…" Lucy gasped as she noticed they were outnumbered.
OOOOOOOOOk. This chapter is finished! Soooooo, choices were made, just like always, I wrote this in the middle of the night as per usual. I hope you all enjoyed it, leave a review if you want, I definitely appreciate them. As for the council, that just seemed like a fun thing to do… and the votes! I'll just let you guys know who didn't vote for themselves: Mina, Tenya, Ochaco, Ojiro, Todoroki, Midoriya, Lucy, and Levy. I'm working on the rest of USJ as I'm typing this note, super excited to see where that goes honestly, I have something special I want to happen. Anyways, I only proofread this once, so if there are any mistakes, whoops sorry! Until next time!
