James looked over the parahuman he was working with, a presenting a file to her.
"We've confirmed minor alterations to your DNA, although how you transform is still unknown". He began to explain, before glancing to a fruit with a bite taken out of it. "Its startling how quickly you changed with just a tiny bite".
"Nastiest thing I've ever tasted sir, although the powers are certainly nice". Yuma Kori glanced at her hands, her costume had been made quickly once the PRT agents had saw her fully transformed form. "How are my siblings doing?".
"Your younger sister is doing well with adapting to... Registeel". James almost hissed the name out, did Faust have no naming sense? "While Kaito is slower to adapt to Regirock, he's adapted very quickly to using the full transformation".
"Thats good... Kaito alwasys did better with physical work". Yuma then asked another question. "Have the higher ups decided where we'll be sent yet? Or what our Cape names will be?".
The two began to talk out of the lab they had been talking in, a goal in mind.
"From what I've heard their considering just calling you after your Zoan transformation names. As for where you'll be sent... I have no idea yet". James pulled out a keycard, scanning it in order to open and door and reveal the training area that had been set up for the three artificial Parahumans.
There were already multiple scientists working around the room, rushing about between computers and two strange looking parahumans.
One of the parahumans, the only male among them, lifted a weight above his head with casual ease. Even as more and more weight was added, he showed no sign of strain.
The other parahuman, youngest of the Kori sibling's, Mika, was... Eating metal, and with a surprisingly delighted face as she did so.
"Oh! Hey big sister!". Mika waved cheerfully, a chunk of steel with bite marks taken out of it in her hand.
"...Why is our little sister eating metal, Kaito?". Yuma asked, confusion on her face. Kaito put the weights he had been using down and walked over to his sister.
"Apparently she's gaining a lot of nutrient value from it. Tried getting me to eat rocks but I ain't testing my teeth on weird experiments". The user of the Regirock Fruit shrugged, drawing a frown from the Regice user.
"W-well, as interesting as that is. I believe its time to test out more of your powers, we've got various materials for you to test yourself against". James gathered the three siblings attentions, who nodded as their attention was drawn to PRT troopers bringing in boxes filled with dozens of materials.
As the siblings got to work, James pulled out his phone to send out some details. He had been hesitant at first to have an ordinary civilian and two former PRT troopers consume the Devil Fruits, but at this point his opinion had been changed. All three were showing healthy mindsets and a willingness to listen to orders ordinary parahumans never showed.
He stopped however when he noticed Mika finally convincing Kaito to try eating a rock... And the oldest sibling taking a bite out of a large diamond, chewing it with a pleased expression under his mask. Well, at least he wasn't transforming into his full Zoan form out of nowhere...
James didn't want to deal with another freak out about Endbringers just because the Regi's were big.
"Your really planning to stay?". Alex asked Jessica, who nodded. "WHY!? Faust's literally a murderer and mad scientist! For all we know he could randomly kidnap people off the streets to experiment on!".
"And other cities are better? Faust may be a tyrant, but he's offering free health care, education, and homes! We have constant patrols around the city to deal with any criminals or parahumans trying to cause trouble! We're safe here Alex, for the longest time in this crazy world we actually have a place where we don't have to worry about the all the issues in life". Jessica knew she was leaving her fate in the hands of a man who had performed a hostile take-over of the city, but Brockton Bay was safe and healthy for the first time in decades.
"Well I'm leaving the city as soon as Faust opens it up, there's already a plan online to have a PRT group pick up and help people move away. It'll be guarded by Dragon herself, so if Faust tries anything we'll still be able to escape". Alex wanted to convince her friend to leave, but Jessica was determined to stay.
"I'm sorry Alex, but I'm not leaving the first safe place since parahumans started showing up".
Just a quick glimpse of two ordinary civilians, figured it'd tell you the situation with the ordinary folk then some big, non connected view.
Führer sighed as he signed some paperwork, truly it was difficult to rebuild after such a devastating loss. He had inherited leadership of Gesellschaft after the death of their last leader, fifteen years ago... He was Forty-Six now. It had been a long, long journey and he had put far to much into it to give up just because another villain had destroyed most of his previous work.
Most, but not all.
He had long expected ether an Endbringer or PRT attack on his home base, it was only a matter of time really. But he had many resources, many groups who owed him favors, and he was calling them in now.
Speaking of said favors...
"Your late". He spoke aloud, glancing behind him to see a portal closing with a familiar suited woman stepping out. "You rarely take this long, Contessa".
"The metal wasn't easy to work with, its ability to absorb and re-release kinetic energy was beyond any metal we've worked with before". The Bogeyman of the Cape world placed a strange looking gun on the former Gesellschaft leader's desk, picking it up for a few moments he admired the craftsmanship. Alongside it was a small pack containing twelve bullets.
"And these bullets will truly pierce anything?". Führer placed the bullet pack in a secure container inside his suit, keeping the gun in hand.
"I assure you, no defense can stop them. The only thing that could survive is an Endbringer or Scion". Contessa pulled out a folder and handed it to the supervillain. "The locations and times you'll find the capes you wanted, our debt is paid in full".
"Agreed, good luck with your work, Contessa".
"To you as well, Führer".
A portal appeared with the Bogeyman quickly walking through and closing behind her, leaving Führer alone. He quickly opened the folder and began to read through it, a smile appearing under his helmet.
It may take years, but he could rebuild.
Flechette was breathing heavily, her grip tight on her crossbow as tears threatened to stream from her eyes. Jason, Saran, and Evan... All three of them were dead, their bodies horribly rotting with some disease, t-that thing had... O-oh God, oh God!
"Flech! Calm the fuck down!" A-adam, no no he was Fallout shook her, trying to bring sense back to the clearly terrified girl. "That thing will get us if we don't move!".
"I-i know!". She knew, she knew they were facing something way beyond humanity, a voice in her head seeming to whisper its name.
Servant.
Flechette quickly began following after Fallout, taking note of how his legs had shifted to become more claw like and better for running. They were in an old apartment, and trying to ignore the various bodies on the ground, each seeming to have suffered from horrible diseases before death.
The female Ward remembered what she had been told about her own Demi-Servant powers, to keep them secret, to not use any of the weapons in her mind, but-!
Blue particles swirled around her hand, before forming into a gun (Kanshou), glancing to the side she knew Fallout had summoned his sword (Amenomurakumo-no-Tsurugi), water swirling around him. Now feeling more confident armed with real weapons, the two stood straighter.
A thin black mist was around the apartment building, slowly growing thicker with each death. Flechette theorized it was her and Fallout's Demi-Servant status that protected them from the instant death everyone else had suffered. She felt her heart still for a moment whenever she thought she saw something in the mist.
"This is a horror show". She whimpered, usually this would be the part were Fallout teased her... But for once, he had no desire to do so.
"Agreed, but where's the freaking shadow man? He can't have gotten far". Fallout took in a slow breath, glancing around but only seeing an ordinary living room and the black mist-
The black mist that matched the shadow creature he had seen travelling around the apartment, that had brought disease with every touch.
"...Flechette, when I give the order, jump out of that window". He felt cold, he wasn't sure if it was the mist or his own realization, but he needed to seem calm or the thing may attack them.
"W-what?! What are you talking abo-". The female Ward was cut off.
"JUST RUN NOW!". Fallout demanded, and seeing his seriousness Flechette nodded, rushing at the window-
The mist moved, shifting into shadowy claws that rushed at Flechette only to be torn to pieces by a swipe of his sword-
A bullet was fired from Kanshou, destroying the window and allowing her to jump out-
Fallout felt energy fill him, water swirling around his sword. Glancing to the window he saw Flechette had already leapt out, so with a shout-
"Amenomurakumo-no-Tsurugi!". He activated the Noble Phantasm, unleashing an explosive blast of water that tore the room around him, but it didn't stop there. The walls, the entire department building was instantly torn apart by the Divine Construct's wrath. Breathing heavily, he tried to make his own run for a much larger hole in the wall-
Slice!
Unaware of the single cut on his back, falling to the ground and barely landing besides Flechette. Both staring in horror at the completely destroyed apartment, the black mist seemingly vanished.
"T-there's no way it survived that right? It was hit point blank!". Flechette was exhausted, mentally and physically. She glanced to Fallout, who was laying on the floor. "B-but at least we made it out, right Fallout... Fallout?".
The other Ward didn't respond, Amenomurakumo-no-Tsurugi instantly fading away into golden sparks as he stared at the sky with glazed eyes.
Adam Brown, the Ward Fallout and Demi-Servant of the Saber Servant, Yamato Takeru, was dead.
Mana of Yamato Takeru added to the Holy Grail.
Four Wards killed in tragic battle against Parahuman Serial Killer.
The streets of New York have been struck with tragedy with the death of four Wards in what was meant to be an ordinary patrol. The Wards Flechette, Fallout, Slingshot, Hyper Muteki, and Gumball were out on an ordinary patrol when they noticed a strange smell coming from an apartment and decided to investigate, quickly coming across a dead body which seemed to have suffered from at least fifteen fatal diseases before death..
The Wards attempted to communicate with their superiors, but found both their way out blocked and their communicators failing. Deciding to take a risk they investigated further and found more dead bodies, eventually finding the culprit, a Parahuman able to turn into mist that infected those touched with diseases.
Slingshot, Hyper Muteki, and Gumball were killed instantly with only Flechette and Fallout escaping for a bit longer. Under the stress of the situation Fallout underwent a mental breakdown and unleashed his powers to the max, completely destroying the apartment and killing himself in the process. Flechette was later found by police crying over his body outside the ruins of the apartment.
The PRT announced-
The newspaper was thrown away by shaking hands, Flechette, now in her civilian identity of Lily, felt sick. Lies, lies, all of it was lies! Mental breakdown? Fallout had planned that! Not being able to communicate with the higher ups!? That was a lie to, they had told the group to investigate with an excuse the killer may get away if they didn't act fast!
Lily felt sick, and she knew it was nothing to do with the 'Black Death' as the PRT had taken to calling the Servant (Refusing to accept the idea it truly was some mystical entity), the PRT had already went over her with a fine comb checking for any sickness or disease. Why? Why were they lying to the public? People needed to know if they wanted to avoid meeting the same fate her teammates had suffered.
The faith she had in the PRT was falling to pieces around her, and the girl had no idea what to do.
Miyu expected a few things when finally finding the source of mana at her school...
What she didn't expect was the school troublemaker to be the cause of it. Miyu quickly went over the data in her head-
Eve Nike, Sixteen years old and currently a student at (I really couldn't think of a school name). Been noted as a troublemaker but brilliant student, excelling in all things electricity related. Likely conclusion, the Vigilante Shock, a violent vigilante known for beating villains so bad they suffer permanent damage, electricity themed Tinker.
The Infiltrator Unit frowned, she wasn't against being violent or even killing criminals, but the fact an ordinary high school student so easily brutalized criminals told you a lot about a person.
Add in that Shock was an electricity themed Tinker, a part of her worried she'd be able to tell Miyu's nature as an android.
This would have to be reported to the master.
