Torrhen watched Dragonstone appear in the distance from the front of the ship. It was a beautiful castle built on a small island up on a hill. It was one of the last remnants of the Targaryens as it was their first fortress in Westeros before Aegon conquered the Seven Kingdoms. It was the home of many Targaryen's before Robert had what was left of them hunted down.

Now Stannis held the castle. Given to him after the war to rule. It was a slight to him as he should have been given storms end being older than Renly but was instead given Dragonstone. It was a strong fortress that definitely fits Stannis from what Torrhen has heard.

The ship docked a little bit away from the castle and he rented a horse to ride up to the castle. Seeing the castle up close was an amazing experience. The dark black stone and the a amazing architecture was unlike anything he had seen before. With the dark stone it almost reminded him of the north. Finally he reached the bottom of a long staircase that lead up the hill to the castle itself. Gods this place was impossible to attack if someone even tried. A guard stopped him and asked his business.

"My name is Torrhen...I'm the adoptive son of Eddard Stark. I have a message for Lord Stannis for his eyes only."

The guard told Torrhen to follow him and up the long winding staircase they went. Once inside the castle the man led him into a room with a large stone table in the shape of Westeros in the middle of it and told the boy to wait there. Some time went by and it felt like Stannis would never come. Finally the door opened and an older balding man with a clean shaven face entered the room. No doubt it was Stannis.

"My Lord." He said.

"So you're this Torrhen Stark I hear so much about. I hear you are a good fighter."

"I am...my sister's better though." He replied.

"So I hear. I heard she nearly beat the Kingslayer?"

"She did."

There was a moment of silence before Stannis got to business.

"So what bring you here Torrhen?"

"A letter from my father the Hand of the King...your eyes only."

Stannis took the parchment and broke the seal. His eyes darted back and forth reading the words written on them. His eyes widening and brows furrowing as he did.

"Is what he says in this letter true?"

"If the wrong people had seen this letter it would certainly mean his death. He would not risk it if it were a falsehood."

Stannis nodded and rolled the paper back up and hid it in his pocket. Ned Stark was an honorable man and would never tell a lie...it wasn't in his nature to lie. The contents of this letter had to be true or he never would have wrote them.

"So if Joffrey,Tommen,and Myrcella aren't Robert's?"

"The throne is yours."

It was then a woman dressed in a red robe entered the room. She was beautiful with reddish hair. It took everything for Torrhen not to stare. She leaned in whispering to Stannis and handing him a parchment. He broke the seal and a look of shock covered his face as he read it.

"This can't be."

"It is my Lord."

He looked to Torrhen.

"News from Kings Landing...your father and sister have been arrested under the charge of treason."

"What!" Torrhen replied.

Stannis handed him the letter.

'To Lord Stannis Of Dragonstone and Master of Ships. I write to you to inform you of the death of King Robert your brother. Killed by wounds sustained on a hunt. As well I write to inform you that the Hand of the King Eddard Stark and his daughter Serena have been arrested for treason after denying Joffrey the King's rightful heir the Thorne. A warrant has been issued for his son Torrhen. King Joffrey asks to set for Kings Landing and swear fealty to him and you may retain you position on the Small Council.'

Torrhen handed the letter back to Stannis.

"What will you do?" Torrhen asked.

"I'll go to Kings Landing to meet this boy King...but I won't be going alone. What will you do?"

"I have to go back to Kings Landing...I have to save my family." Torrhen said.

"Thats probably not wise. If they are looking for you..."

"Nobody there really knows what I look like anyway. I have to try."

Stannis respected the young man's dedication to his family. He could not deny the boy and would aid in what way he can.

"You must be weary from the road. I will have quarters set up for you for the night and a ship prepared to sail at dawn."

"Thank you My Lord...or should I say Your Grace."

Joffrey was in his chambers trying to figure out what he was going to wear the day. While doing so his mind drifted to Eddard Stark and his daughter denying him the throne. Treasonous cunts! How dare they deny him the throne! It was his by right. He'll have them executed for their treason but how? Hanging maybe? No too quick and simple...perhaps have them drawn and quartered? For treason they'd didn't deserve a quick death they deserved to feel the pain before finally dying. That was the best punishment for treason in his eyes.

He was distracted by a knock at the door. He called for who ever it was to enter. When he turned around he saw his mother with a smile on her face.

"Wonderful day isn't it?" She asked.

"I suppose it is."

She could tell he was deep in thought about something.

"What's on your mind?"

"I'm trying to think about the best punishment for those treasonous Starks."

Cersei have him a look that showed she had some thoughts on it. Joffrey didn't like having people give him options or ideas he was the King but this was his mother and she was wise and have some good input sometimes.

"You have an idea?" Joffrey asked.

"I do. Perhaps you could grant mercy to the Starks."

Joffrey nearly exploded on his mother at the idea of giving mercy to the traitors who openly denied his birthright and cut down one of his Kingsguard.

"And why would I pardon them? They denied me my birthright to the throne and that bitch killed one of my Kingsguard?"

"Serena is a amazing warrior who managed to kill a Kingsguard and almost beat your uncle Jaime. We could use her. Grant her mercy if she were to bend the knee and swear herself to you. she would be a valuable asset. As for Ned Stark have him confess his treasons and send him to the Wall. If you execute the Warden of the North you will have the entire North rising up against you. He will still be punished by serving in the Nights Watch...it's not the organization it once was many centuries ago. It's full of killers and rapists."

"I don't care...he told me I wasn't King!"

"I know. You are the King but you must be smart about this. At least spare the girl...we could use her."

The girl was a good warrior and if war were to come she would be invaluable to the war effort. She did nearly beat Jaime and did best a Kingsguard. He looked to his mother and made his decision.

"Fine I'll spare her...if she publicly apologizes for her treasons, denounces her treasonous family, and pledges her sword to me. If she does not meet these requirements she will follow her father into whatever hell they believe in."

"Alight I'll deliver the terms."

It had been a few days since the battle in the throne room and the King's death. The kingdoms mourned the death of their beloved King Robert. No one mourned more than Ned while sitting in his cell. Robert was his best friend and King. He went to war twice for him once during the rebellion and once during the Greyjoy rebellion. Now he was with the Gods and the realm would surely enter a state of chaos.

Ned questioned his decision to come out and deny Joffrey the Throne. He thought the Watch was on his side but he was sadly mistaken. He was a fool to trust anyone in this Gods forsaken city. The only person he could trust save for Serena and Torrhen was dead and everyone else were power hungry scum who will play tear at each other until someone is finally on top.

Serena sat back pressed against the walls on her damp cell. Her lips were dry of thirst and and stomach was churning from hunger. How did they get here? How did they not see Baelish's betrayal coming? His reputation as a brothel keeper was not the best. How Cat would be upset at the betrayal of a man she saw as a friend since childhood.

Serena then thought to the fight in the throne room. She managed to take down a Kingsguard. Which Knight she didn't know. It wasn't that big a deal as she did almost beat Jaime Lannister who was touted as one of the best fighters in the Kingdoms and see a girl many years his junior pretty much managed to best him in a duel. She would have beaten him too if that man didn't interfere.

The sounds of footsteps echoed through the halls of the dungeons along with the clang of armor. They stopped at what seemed like just outside her door. There was the jingle of keys and then a click as the lock was unlocked. The door opened and a golden haired Cersei entered the cell. She looked at the girl seeing her sitting on the ground and covered in dirt from the dirty cell.

"This is no place for a lady."

"Good for me I'm not a Lady." Serena replied.

Cersei smiled.

"You were raised in Winterfell with Eddard Stark as your father. I believe that would make you a Lady."

"If you say so."

Serena wouldn't even look at the Queen. She was furious about what happened in the throne room as well as she didn't want to feel that feeling she always got around the Lannister. Unbeknownst to get Cersei felt those same feelings toward the girl however she knew what it was. She had only felt it once before and it was for her brother Jaime and never before for a woman. She didn't even think she liked women. Not that it mattered to her if others would care or not as she's been fucking her brother and has three children with him. Right or wrong didn't matter to her.

"You have a chance to save yourself." Cersei said.

"Do I now?" Serena asked looking to Cersei.

Once her eyes fell upon the Queen her stomach turned into a big knot and the blonde could see it. She allowed a small smirk to grow on her face.

"Yes. I've spoken with the King and if you were to publicly swear your fealty to Joffrey he will forgive your transgressions and allow you to live within the Red Keep. You can be free...see your sister again."

Sansa! Serena had nearly forgotten about Sansa in her isolation in the dungeons. She remembered a conversation she had with her father when they first arrived in the capital. 'No matter what protect Sansa.' She had to keep that promise and protect her sister. Maybe she should take this opportunity to be able to keep that promise.

Cersei then crouched down and stroked the younger girl's chin.

"And you can act on certain feelings you have."

Serena's eyes widened. How did she know? She had never said anything to anyone about it so how did she find out?

"You're surprised?" Cersei asked. "Don't be. I've spent the last seventeen years in Kings Landing. I've learned the art of knowing what is going on inside a person's head. To read their faces and the sound of their voices. I know you get that feeling in your stomach...that feeling of your stomach turning to knots."

"Your grace...I have no clue what you are talking about."

"You don't need to lie to me Lady Stark." Cersei says.

She the stood up and smiled at Serena.

"So. Will you bend the knee?" Cersei asked. "Will you swear fealty to Joffrey and proclaim him the true King of Westeros?"

Once again she thought of Sansa. She's probably afraid right now after the skirmish. Her sister and father were in the dungeons for treason and who knew what they told/did to her. She needed someone to be at her side to comfort her in these troubled times. She looked up to Cersei who was patiently awaiting the reply.

"I will."

Cersei smiled and walked out of the cell saying something to the guards. They entered the cell and picked the girl up from the floor and walked her through the cells and up through the keep. Finally they reached the throne room where Joffrey was already sitting on the throne surrounded by his loyal Kingsguard.

"I have been informed that you have had a change of heart regarding your little rebellion?" Joffrey said.

"I...I have your Grace."

Joffrey nodded and a guard undid her binds freeing her hands. Another man brought over a sword...her sword. She drew it from the sheath and took a knee pressing the tip of the blade into the stone.

"Your Grace I realize now that I have made a grave mistake supporting Eddard Stark and his false treasonous statements. I swear my sword and fealty to you if you'll have me."

Joffrey smiled.

"My Lady I would be honored to have you in my service so long as you swear never to commit treason again."

"Your grace I realize my folly and will never raise my sword against you again."

"You may rise my lady."

Serena stood up and took the sheath and slid her sword in it.

"I'm no Lady your Grace." She said with a bow.

After the ceremony she immediately made way to find Sansa. She hadn't seen Sansa in days and wanted to make sure she's alright. Outside of the door she froze up before knocking on it. What would Sansa say? Would she understand her reasons for doing it? If not one day she would. Finally her hand connected with the wood and she knocked a few times. A 'come in' was heard from behind the door. She slowly pushed open the door to see Sansa sitting on her bed sewing up a dress.

The redhead turned around and saw her sister standing by the door. She dropped everything and jumped up running to her sister wrapping her in the tightest hug ever. Sansa pulled away and looked at Serena with confusion.

"They let you go?" She asked.

"They did."

"How? Why?"

Serena patted Sansa's shoulder.

"They made me bend the knee."

Sansa backed off for a moment a hint of anger appearing on her face.

"You bent the knee to Joffeey?" She asked angrily.

"I did to protect you. Father made me promise to protect you and I can't do that in a cell."

Sansa calmed down a bit.

"I did it to make sure your safe...I don't trust any of these people with your safety."

"Have you heard from Torren?" Sansa asked.

"No not yet. With hope he is safe on Dragonstone."

One could hope. But for low Serena needed to focus on things here in Kings Landing. Things like Sansa's safety and getting Father out of that cell.
