Chapter 10: Father's Day
The next day was a family day, with board games, baking cookies and watching reruns of Spy Wars.
Anya told them everything she did the day before.
"We played with her toys and watched movies together and I convinced her to watch my favorite anime but she only liked Bondman because she said he looked like daddy and he was handsome" Loid had a large drop on the back of his head.
"Weird kids..." He thought and he noticed Yor laughing softly.
He laughed a little too then it was their turn to tell her and Yor gave her the plushie of a cactus with eyes.
"Oh!" Said Anya looking at the episode of Spy Wars and there was Bondman fighting with a man with spiky hair"
"I will defeat you... Mr. Spike!" Said Bondman using all his gadgets in the fight.
"What if Mr. Spike joined our team!" She said looking at Bond and Agent Penguin, Bond barked in agreement and Anya made Mr. Penguin voice "I agree but I will keep an eye on him" Loid watched her playing and laughed gently and Yor softly placed a hand on his, both were in awe as their daughter was engaged in her game.
After it they had dinner and sent Anya to sleep then both parents went to bed as well.
That week passed by quickly and they reached July, father's day month and Loid's birthday. Yor's was on April 6th. They celebrated it at home with her brother, then mother's day arrived and Loid was extra special with her so now it was her moment to shine.
At Eden they asked the kids to bring a plain shirt, it could be white or their father's favorite color.
Yor and Anya picked green. And Anya's art teacher asked them to use special paintings to draw things their father likes and they would write the message like they did with their mothers.
The message was "You are the best dad" and after painting it with red painting, Anya thought about doing some spy stuffs but stopped when she remembered that he doesn't know she knows his secret so she just draw cooking things, she draw their family and some things from Bondman, like what he did that day at the castle.
When the class ended the kids looked satisfied with their art as they left the classroom.
Meanwhile, Yor was struggling with her present for Loid. She wanted to give him something meanful.
So she went for a good source, Frankie.
"Oh... Hello Yor" he waved at her with a big smile "how are Loid and Anya?" He asked, looking at her.
"They are great. Anya is getting better at school and Loid is working hard as usual" she said with a smile.
"Yeah, I can tell. He contacted me twice this week for information about his next target" thought Frankie then looked at Yor "I'm glad to hear. I haven't seen Loid in awhile... Now umm what can I do for you?"
"Well as you might know... In two weeks will be father's day and his birthday a few days later. So I don't have any idea what I should get him"
Frankie smiled and thought "it's fascinating how she is so serious about keeping it up for this fake marriage" then he said out loud "well I would recommend you something useful like a new wrist watch or a travel-sized grooming kit" he said "or maybe more meaningful like a locket with pictures of the three of you" Yor thought about those options.
"I think... Since there will be two special days that I will give him something useful and something meaningful" she said in the end, smiling at him.
As she walked away she knew exactly what she would get him and where to find those.
While she walked she remembered her birthday.
Yor was arriving after a busy day at work. Camilla and the rest of the girls gave her some presents and a little cake to share.
It was the first time in years that she did it for her. It was kind of weird but at the same time it felt nice.
They gave her a box full of skin products, some with a nice perfume and some very neutral for the sensitive areas of her body.
When she arrived home, Loid already cooked dinner and it was her favorite dish. Then they had a cake brought by him and Anya got her a nice set of earrings and necklace. She was sure Loid had to do something with it.
And her husband got her a camera and photo album, inside was a copy of their photos without and with Bond in it with the message:
To store all our memories as a family.
Love from Loid, Anya and Bond.
There was Loid's sign, Anya wrote her name carefully which made Yor cry because she made an effort for her and Loid printed Bond's paw on it with ink which looked way too cute.
Her brother gave her roses and a necklace with a pendant which has her name on it.
She wanted something that special for him too. So she brought the Locked with a beautiful and elaborated F on the front.
And she made sure to schedule an appointment for a picture of her, Anya and Bond with the right size to fix in the locket and Camilla recommended a nice place to buy the grooming kit because he had been traveling a lot the past few months so it will be perfect.
She even got his initials engravings on the case.
Lastly she took extra classes with Camilla and Mrs. Barbara learned to cook something nice for him. She wanted that day to be special and to prove she can be a better wife.
Finally Sunday arrived and Yor was the first to wake up, took a quick shower and went to the kitchen to start to cook. She was really focused on her task and she didn't hear Anya waking up until she spoke.
"Good morning mommy!" Said the little girl, rubbing her eyes.
"Good morning Anya" she said, taking a deep breath after almost jumping when her daughter talked to her "go brush your teeth and get ready for breakfast" she said with a big smile.
Anya nodded and left the kitchen and headed to the bathroom. Meanwhile Yor kept cooking. Bond was delighted by the smell of it and his fluffy tail was waving happily.
Yor smiled when she noticed it. If Bond liked it, it means she was doing it well.
A couple of minutes later Loid was in the kitchen "oh... That actually looks great" he said smiling looking at what she was cooking which caused her to blush.
"Thank you! I had been practicing" she said blushing.
Loid was about to say something but Anya broke the moment saying "Mommy and daddy are flirting"
Which caused both of them to blush even more "We are not!" But since they had some more dates and enjoyed movie night every Friday. He had to admit he would totally flirt with her.
Loid offered to help but Yor sent him away since it was his special day. He followed orders and sat with Anya and watched Spy Wars with her and she forced him to play with him.
Yor looked at them with a smile finishing breakfast. She finally understood how to cook an egg so she made fried eggs with bacon and toast, a quite simple dish but she managed to cook it well.
They ate and after that Anya handed him his new shirt and his eyes filled with happy tears when he saw the message on it and a portrait of them made by Anya. She sat on his lap explaining everything on the shirt.
She pointed at the pistol he used at the castle, then some of the stuff he had at the hospital or the things he uses when he cooks for them.
He hugged her and put the shirt on over his plain white shirt he usually wears at home.
"It looks perfect daddy!" Said Anya excited "now it's time for mommy's gift"
Loid looked at her "did you get me something too?"
Yor nodded blushing "yes, just like you did on mother's day. I love how good you are as a father to Anya, a little strict sometimes but you always do things to satisfy her so I find it so adorable that I wanted to give you something meaningful" she handed it a small box.
He held it and opened it, inside there was a little locket with the L engraved on it, he opened it and inside there was a photo of Yor, Anya and Bond in it.
Yor was wearing the black dress he gave her on mother's day, Anya was wearing the same dress she used at Eden's party and Bond was wearing his bowtie.
It was an outside photo and he recognized the place. It was where they went after their first outing as a family.
He smiled and kissed her cheek then he put it on and smiled big.
"Thank you Yor, this is actually really beautiful and I will keep this right here" he pointed his chest where his heart was.
The rest of that day was full of boardgames, watching TV and in the afternoon they walked Bond and had dessert.
Loid looked up at the sky at night and thought "Dad... I'm still sorry and I hope wherever you are... You are proud of my work as a fake father to Anya. She's not like me..." He had some tears in his eyes.
Yor looked at him from the sofa and felt the need to hug him from behind, Anya was already asleep in her room so she wouldn't tease them. They can be flirty if they want when she isn't around.
After a couple of more minutes they closed the door of their window and he hugged her and kissed her head. "Thank you, normally this day and mother's day were tough for me, because I lost my family when I was a child and I had to learn how to survive on my own. So having a beautiful father's and mother's day mean the world to me"
"I feel the same. I lost my parents as a young girl so I had to watch over my brother and these days were heartbreaking for me but you and Anya lighten them up" she said with her face on his chest "I'm happy we make them happy for you too"
With that they left to their rooms giving each other a last look before getting in. In a couple of days will be his birthday so he will continue to have a second special day.
