Hey Guys! Crescent Rider here and I am back with another chapter. But before you all start, I must let you all know that every chapter I post for this story has a total of 3000 to 5000 words.
That is all and enjoy the chapter!
Hargeon, Dusk
Just as many women boarded Bora's yacht for the party, The trio of Lost Souls were observing the gathering from a distance. Though Soul, Bow, and Mr. Night were peeking from a boat shed while Ivy just stood and analyzed the number of passengers on board through her feet.
Ivy's way of seeing the world is through physical contact between her and the earth and nature. The wood of the pier and Bora's yacht were no exception as they were made from the same material from nature.
"There's a lot of women on the deck and a bunch of men below deck. All of them seem to be in hiding," Ivy reported, "Probably, Waiting for Bora to spring the attack,"
"What about Lucy? Surely, she'd be there discussing with Bora about Fairy Tail?" Soul inquired,
"She isn't on Bora's ship," Ivy said, "Strange... I thought she'd be here since Bora's offering her a spot in Fairy Tail,"
"We'll worry about her later, what we need is evidence of Bora's crimes. After we've collected enough evidence, we'll aid Lucy and the other girls before Bora commences his heinous plan," Soul told, then turned to Bow, "Let's get going, Bow,"
"Right," Bow agreed, closed her eyes, and held Soul and Ivy's hands while Mr. Night jumped inside her bag,
After some concentration, their surroundings change, and before them is considered a horror show as the pier they stand on is now old and withered, various entities of light and darkness appear mortified on land and sea, and Bora's yacht is in utter disrepair.
Many would consider Bow's power as a form of teleportation. The truth, however, is that Bow can transport herself and others to a dimension where the a bridge between normality and abnormality. A key to a parallel world between realities.
The second an average person or mage enters this place, they'd feel weak, confused, and possibly horrified by such a dreadful sight. For Soul and Ivy, the former had gotten used to what is normal and abnormal with Bow's power while the latter was unfazed due to her blindness, even when her feet were touching the ground.
Its name and origin are a complete mystery, but it is a place where mortal souls wouldn't stay for long, especially Bow as she isn't an exception to this rule...
With their goals set, the three made their way to the creaked yacht and were soon greeted with a line of weary souls of women and a dark-hooded individual serving as the ship's ferryman.
"Hello," Bow greeted,
"..."
"You don't talk a lot, don't you?" Bow inquired,
"..."
"If so, you wouldn't mind if we board the ship? We'd like to get in as soon as possible," Bow said,
The response given to the ferryman was a raise of an arm and denied them entry. Then one of the weary souls spoke on the ferryman's stead...
"Wait your turn, The Salamander only accepts those who are invited. Are you three invited?"
"Um... Yes! We were invited! One of our friends just boarded and we're running a little late today," Bow lied while Soul and Ivy silently went along with her lie,
"Then you should have come sooner. The boat will leave soon..."
The trio would soon leave and return to where they once hid...
Bow then brings all three back to reality and knows that their first option was a bust as Ivy asks, "What now?"
"We could go for the anchor," Bow suggested,
"We could, if only it were that simple. Plus, you and Ivy don't know how to swim, remember?" Soul reminded, and Bow sheepishly giggled,
Just as Soul kept pondering for a way in, Ivy perked her head when she sensed a familiar presence rushing towards the pier, "It's Lucy,"
Soul and Bow turned and Lucy stopped right near them as she saw them, "Huh? What are you three doing here? Aren't you supposed to return home today?"
"We changed our minds!" Bow said, "Whatever this party is, I'm sure that it sounds fun!"
"We went and sent a message to them. They'll be expecting us home tomorrow morning," Soul explained,
"Well, in that case. Why don't we go in together? Since you three are here, we can go in there together. I'm sure Salamander wouldn't mind if I explain to him why you're here," Lucy suggested,
"You are very kind, Lucy. But we need a bit more time since we're in the middle of discussing what we should wear for today's party," Soul explained, "We aren't exactly dressed for the party, you know,"
"I see, then I'll just tell Salamander that you're coming in anyway," Lucy declared, "Anyway, I'd be going to the yacht and talking to him about joining in Fairy Tail. Have fun at the party!"
"We will!" Bow said as Lucy ran to board Bora's ship,
With her away, Soul proceeds to ask, "Let's get back to that world, Bow. With Lucy inviting us over, I'm sure that ferryman will let us in,"
Bow nods and transports the two and herself to that place again. They soon approached the ferryman but noticed that the line had disappeared for them. After they approached the ferryman, he pulled out a scroll and checked their names.
Once found, the ferryman steps aside and gestures his hand to the plank, "..."
"Looks like Lucy convinced Bora for us. Now let's get in there," Bow declared,
The trio walked right up to the yacht and found various souls of weary women idling or strolling around the ship's deck, skeletal remains lying on the floor and hanging by the railings, and the food and beverages on the tables were all rancid and spoiled. Under normal circumstances, the rancid food would smell horrible.
However, sense of smell doesn't apply to this world. Just the senses of sight, hearing, taste, and touch.
As the trio wandered the yacht, they often heard the weary ghosts murmuring about various things such as...
"The Party was grand, and so was its lie."
"Lost at Night, Gone in Morning"
"Never will we see daylight again"
Though their words sounded cryptic, the trio ignored their words and made their way down to the lower decks of the ship. Since none of Bora's men were present in this world, it was easy for them to navigate through several hatch doors and stairs.
Eventually, she reaches an isolated part of the ship and Bow brings the two and herself back to the world of reality...
Storage Room
They'd find themselves behind some crates and a man was resting on a chair, his back against a support beam and feet up a barrel.
Across the path were two men drinking their share of rum and conversing with each other. Then Soul hatches a quick plan in mind, "Ivy, get them to fight each other,"
Ivy stretched her hand and conjured a magic circle beneath the man's chair. What grew from the floorboards was a pair of wooden vines that subsequently pulled the back legs chair.
The sleeping man started to yell, then groaned in pain. The other two men turned to him and started laughing before that man got all red in the face and angrily confronted them.
"Bow, give 'em a scare would you?" Soul requested,
Bow nods, then pulls Mr. Night from her bag, "Alright, Mr. Night. Do your thing,"
Mr. Night responds with a meow, jumps off Bow's arms, and walks towards the men. As it does, its entire body begins to grow and take shape.
As soon as the three men turned, Mr. Night had assumed the form of a large beast and let out a ferocious roar which caused them to scream and flee from the room.
Mr. Night then turns back to Bow, reverts into its normal form, and returns to her arms to receive a chin rub, "Good kitty,"
"It won't be long until those guys return. So let's get going before that happens," Soul stated,
Bow and Ivy agreed and the trio made their way around the lower deck to a room where they possibly keep a logbook. But as they continued to wander, they suddenly felt a tremor and flew off the floor before being slammed on the floor hard.
After the yacht fell sideways, the trio roughly landed on the side of the boat, and crates and barrels fell right onto them. Soul protects the two and herself by conjuring what appears to be Barrier Magic. But instead of blocking the crates and barrels fell on one side but never on the other.
What followed was the yacht was supposed crashing and everyone held onto each other while Ivy caused several branches to grow from the woodwork to catch and keep them in place. After the rumbling had stopped, they looked around and noticed that there wasn't any water breaching through the hull.
Therefore, they've concluded that the ship crashed at some shore and Soul was the first to jump down from the net of branches. Bow would follow suit, then Ivy but the latter soon sensed something when her feet touched the floor, "There's someone else on the ship,"
"Who is it?" Soul asked,
"I don't know... He feels familiar, but I don't know how," Ivy clarified,
"Maybe you've met him before," Bow presumed,
"Maybe... But I have no memory of it, it's weird..." Ivy stated,
"We'll worry about that later, right now we need to leave this ship. Open a hole for us," Soul requested, and Ivy somehow bent the woodwork of the ship's hull with her magic,
Once the hole was made, Bow squeezed right through and landed on the ground with Mr. Night inside her bag. Soul and Ivy would follow suit, but they meet Lucy with a blue-talking cat on her shoulder, "Soul, Bow, Ivy! What were you three doing on that part of the ship, and why aren't asleep like the other girls?"
"Asleep, what are you talking about?" Bow cluelessly asked,
'They don't know,' Lucy muttered, 'Maybe it's for the best, more importantly. I thought they'd get dressed for the party. Why are they still wearing their usual clothes,'
"Hey, can you tell me who they are," The cat asked,
As she was about to answer, she heard two of Bora's men groaning after they were swept aside and the one responsible was a man with pink hair, a white scarf, and a mark on his right shoulder. Specifically, the Fairy Tail Guild Mark.
"My name is Natsu, I'm a Fairy Tail Wizard! And I've never seen you before!" Natsu yelled,
"A Fairy Tail Wizard," Soul muttered,
"Here on Hargeon," Ivy said,
"You've got to be kidding me! So Natsu's a Fairy Tail Wizard!" Lucy exclaimed,
"I have no idea what you're trying to do here, buddy. I don't care if you're a good guy, a bad guy, or what. I'm gonna let you dirty the Fairy Tail Guild's name!" Natsu sworn,
"And what are you going to do about it, Stop me? Prominence Typhoon!" Bora yelled, conjured a magic circle, and unleashed a column of purple fire at Natsu,
This results in an explosion and Lucy expresses concern before trying to go to him. But the Blue Talking Cat sprouted wings from his back and stopped her while Soul and Bow recognized his wings, 'His wings, they're just like Syr's'
Meanwhile, Ivy feels rather uncomfortable feeling the wood of Bora's yacht being burnt. Even though he's the bad guy, her connection with nature makes her sensitive to destruction.
However, she soon felt a change as the flames were being sucked away from the woodwork and felt Natsu's magical power grow bright as the sun. As for everyone else, they were dumbfounded by what they were seeing as Natsu ate those flames easily, "Thanks for the grub, poser,"
"He ate Bora's flames, just what is he," Bow muttered with wide eyes,
"Fire Magic doesn't work on Natsu," Happy pointed out,
"I've never seen anything like that," Lucy admitted,
"Now I've got a fire in my belly that's raging to come out!" Natsu remarked, then unleashed his first attack on Bora and his men, "Here goes, Fire Dragon Roar!"
With one fire breath from Natsu, an explosion comes next and everyone shields themselves from the light and dust. After it died down, Bora remained unscathed while most of his men were down from the count.
"He's immune to fire, eats fire, and breathes fires... With powers like that and his affiliation with Fairy Tail, there's no doubt about it. He's the man those rumors spoke of," Soul deduced,
"You mean Salamander, as in the real Salamander," Bow reaffirms,
"Yeah," Soul clarified, "And I must admit, I'm amazed to see those rumors true," Soul admitted, then her eyes glanced at Ivy as she was keeping track of Natsu, 'And It's depicted similar to her power...'
Dragon Slayer Magic is a type of ancient magic that was said to be used to fight Dragons by having its user inherit qualities that are closely similar to a dragon. In other words, Bora is gravely outmatched against him as every fire attack he uses is impervious to Natsu's Dragon Scale and grows stronger with every attack he eats.
The last blow against Bora would be Natsu's next move as he jumped towards him with fire engulfing his hand, "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!"
Bora was sent flying several meters through the town and what supposedly stopped him from flying off was a Hargeon Bell as he got knocked inside it and caused it to ring once.
"Oh, wow! That was amazing, but he overdid it!" Lucy exclaimed as several houses and establishments were destroyed in the process,
"Aye!" The Cat agreed happily,
"Oh, shut it cat!" Lucy scolded,
"The Royal Army isn't going to like this one bit..." Soul remarked,
"They're already here actually," Ivy said as she sensed their presence and turned toward the approaching soldiers,
"The Army's here?!" Lucy exclaimed,
Without a moment to waste, Natsu grabbed Lucy by the hand and hightailed out of Hargeon before he got caught by them. The trio just watched those two leave while the Blue Talking Cat went after them as his wings sprouted from his back, "Hey, wait for me!"
"Take of yourselves!" Bow said while waving her arm at them,
"We will! Whoever you are!" The Blue Talking Cat said as he briefly turned to them, then back at Natsu and Lucy,
The trio were certain that Lucy would join Fairy Tail with Natsu taking her there. But they soon had other matters to deal with when a squad from the Royal Army approached the trio and held their weapons at him, "You three! Identify yourselves at once! Are you part of this incident?"
The trio glanced at each other, and then Soul stepped forward and gave an introduction, "My name is Alicia 'Soul' Graham! And these two are Fransizka 'Bow' Graham and Eveline Green. We are solemn members of the Lost Souls Guild!"
The Squad of the Royal Army audibly gasped at the guild name and seemingly lowered their weapons. Then the Captain assigned to this Platoon approached them, "If what you say is true, I require proof of your affiliation. You know how this goes with your guild,"
The trio complied with his wishes and revealed their guild marks after dispelling its concealment spell: Soul has her Gold Yellow Guild Mark on her right hand, Bow has her Blue Guild Mark by her left forearm, and Ivy has her Jade Guild Mark near her neck. Even Mr. Night has a White Guild Mark on his forehead.
(A Picture of The OC Guild Mark can be found on Wattpad. I don't mind if it looks bad, what matters is that you all know what it looks like)
The Platoon Captain and his squad of Royal Soldiers recognized the pattern of their guild mark: A double-sided key and the head of the key shows half a figure clasping its hands to pray.
After the trio revealed their affiliation, the Royal Army stands down as the Lost Souls Guild holds considerable authority and recognition after their formation in X781. All of this was made possible after the trio's Guild Leader took it upon himself to carry responsibility in certain areas that the Royal Army couldn't uphold on their own.
One of those areas would be his devotion as a Missionary, his commitment as the Orphanage's Director, his charge as the Lost Souls' Guild Master, and many others.
Some even claimed that he was mad to hold so much in his hands, but the trio knew better as their Guild Master had done it all for three years. Never stopping, always moving...
In return, he and the Lost Guilds guild would gain more than their regular upkeep. They'd be recognized across the land, certain members gain a considerable amount of authority similar to Royal Army Officers, and the number of orphans under their care increases with every passing month.
Out of all three girls, Alicia 'Soul' Graham is one of these members with considerable authority...
"Please forgive us for raising our weapons at you. We did not expect members of the Lost Souls to be on Hargeon," The Platoon Captain apologized,
"That won't be necessary, what you were doing was simply your charge and duty as soldiers of the Royal Army. If anything, you've made the right to act cautiously around individuals near today's incident..." Soul assured, "That matter aside, we'd like to make a full report of what happened. If that is okay with you,"
"Of course, the Magic Council wishes to know what has happened here, and we'll gladly accept anything you have offered to us," The Platoon Captain inclined,
The trio were then escorted to the nearest station and Soul provided a full and honest report of what they've witnessed on Hargeon, including their knowledge regarding Bora and Fairy Tail's Salamander.
After that, they were excused by the Royal Army as they handled today's mess and the trio made their way to the nearest Train Station.
The Next Morning...
Due to the damages caused by Natsu's fight with Bora the Prominence, the trains that came in and out of Hargeon were delayed under the Royal Army's jurisdiction.
The circumstances were understandable and patiently waited for the trains to come again. In the meantime, they've decided to sleep on the chairs with Bow on Soul's lap, the latter's head against Ivy's shoulder, and Ivy's head against Soul's. As for Mr. Night, he sleeps next to Bow with her arm around his body.
All four of them had blankets to keep themselves warm...
They have been like this all night and never have they complained about how uncomfortable it was. The Station Master would find them in this state but chose to leave them be rather than disturb them.
However, one person in particular approaches the four, "Um, miss..."
Soul slowly opens her eyes and turns to Royal Soldier without nudging her head.
"I was informed that a carriage has been prepared for your return to Krosstoen. All Trains in and out of Hagreon will be delayed due to damages caused by Fairy Tail," The Royal Soldier informed,
With that, she gently shook Ivy and Bow awake. After being drowsy for a moment, the trio were escorted to the carriage by the Royal Soldier. However, he was wary of them as rumors circulated in his mind.
An Outstanding Master may run the Lost Souls Guild, but its members were another matter as few notable members were considered weird and unlikely individuals. Rumor has it that two to three of their members were former Dark Mages, reformed and certified.
But as the saying goes of the Royal Army, Once a Dark Mage always a Dark Mage. So people are often wary of its members, even the trio despite their youth...
After they arrived at the carriage, the trio boarded it themselves with Soul being last as she expressed her gratitude to the soldier, "Give my regards to your Captain, and keep up the good work,"
"Uh... Sure, I will tell him right away," the Royal Soldier agreed,
Soul bowed her head once and boarded the carriage with the two girls. Then they depart for Krosstoen, Home...
Details and References:
Ivy's Seismic Senses is like Toph's but it isn't limited to the Earth. Don't expect her to see or use from metal though, because this is Fairy Tail, not Avatar.
Bow's power is based on the Duotine Pills from the Fran Bow game. The difference is that she can do it at any time and can even bring people with her into that world as well. There are limits though, and one of them would be the user overstaying in that world.
Mr. Night's transformation is similar to Teekl from Young Justice.
The spell Soul used to catch falling debris was Spatial Magic. However, the type of magic is only used for storing items in a Pocket Dimension. More details of her powers will be revealed as the story progresses.
